Review Burgerfuel Queen Street - Auckland

John Bartkowski
Delicious burgers and sides in generous portions. Vegan-friendly and gluten-free buns are available. Would definitely go back again. Service was excellent and they can accommodate those with dietary limitations. Strongly recommend.

First time eating at BurgerFuel. Abit pricey as fries and drinks are ordered separately but taste wise its really good and its not greasy. Modified thunderbird

Good service but their jalapeno hornet burget with sweet chilli sauce and peanut chocolate is not it 👎

A very good burger. Worth the price definitely. Had worse burgers before in Auckland for much more money. Tried the BBQ roadster with sweet potato fries. The fries were top notch. Haven't had better before in any country we visited. The burger was good as well. Top much bun for the meat (would go well with a double, but a bit too much for a single. Missed a tomato as well). But that's only personal preference. However, Thanks for the pleasant experience.

We got the American muscle "double" and a burnout burger with regular and Kamara thick cup chips. Quick service, excellent food! Loved the fact that they use eco-friendly materials and packaging along with UV ink (didn't know that was a thing)

My friend and I enjoyed the burgers there very much! The sauces were very juicy. (vegan options are also catered to the folks who prefer them instead). More importantly, their staff were very attentive despite busy dinner hours! Definitely a gourmet burger go-to at a convenient location in the CBD!

Whew this was busy when we arrived. Queue out the door. However the crew were amazing. Burgers were delicious 😋 and we only waited 15 minutes. Credit to all of them working their butts off! Darn good food.

Great gourmet burgers worth the value! Hard to justify eating burgers else where once you have had burger fuels burger. Always fresh and delicious burgers. Their Kumara fries with Aoili is a must have! Plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, given the size of the store. Conveniently located straight on queen street. Highly recommend this place!

Serves humans and birds alike. Nasty as hell front of house but these guys on queenstreet so what do you expect. Give them a break

Comparing with other brandches, they provide the same flavor. Bio fuel is always my too choice and chicken fenders ate cooked well. The service is prompt and the staff are nice. They open on Christmas Day which is really superising and convenient for us!!

Went their with my friends to fill our burger craving. We had their BBQ roadster without bacon, Hamburgini with cheese and chook royale. All of these were super yummy. Halal burgers are available just tell them to make it halal. Thank you 💖

Burgerfuel really surprised me. Coming from across the ditch in Australia, we haven't gotten it yet - hope we do sometime. This store was the first one I tried. Food is top notch, I went back a few times. Price was acceptable, although I personally balked at spending $5 for a soft drink, but I normally carry my own water. The one thing that did surprise me was how different stores had their own 'specials' I came across another store that had a lunch special, the American, fries, and a drink, all for less than $20. Suffice to say I changed my mind from buying my previous order to that in a heartbeat, haha. I highly recommend if you're in the area, and just need a good, hearty meal, but do check the different branches to see what specific specials they may have.

Friendly staff. Fast and Superb BURGER!

We've been in search of the best burger in Auckland for a while now. That is when we decided to try Burger Fuel. If you compare the price of a burger here, it will be slightly more than its competitors here. But the taste and quality of the burgers are worth every penny!

Came here for a second muscle burger buy one get one free. The sauce and texture and flavour are all amazing. A must try.

Service: 3/5
Presentation: 3/5
Environment: 3/5
Food Quality: 5/5
Food Quantity: 5/5
Price per person: $15

Burgers are great but problem with customer service and communication - i ordered two burgers and was asked "do you want cheese and avocado?". I was charged an extra 10 dollars for both the burgers and was not clarified that they were "extras or add ons" to the burger ( I was served by a female employee on Sunday afternoon).

The fact both burgers had cheese and avocado already in them made it really confusing - it was like asking whether i wanted the cheese already part of the burger to be added on or off.

This seems to be a problem as it feels for customers that they are being mislead and kind of robbed of extra few dollars.

Best burger in town. C N Cheese and American muscle are always my favourite. The beef patty was so juicy and tender! Staff was very friendly.

A nice burger joint in cbd - burger always consis
Always good quality
Tried the motobites and the super green smoothie - were pretty good

can be a bit pricey, but if you become a VIB member they often have specials.
Food2belly
I ordered the tofu burger, honestly it was so bomb the tofu was soft and juicy while the avocado sauce was creamy and packed with flavour. I prefer this burger over the veggie Patty ones as it's much more succulent.

expensive for a burger of such small size (I miss Fergburger in Queenstown). we had beef burger and chicken burger. grilled chicken a bit too salty. love the kumara fries with avoli sauce.
Georgie @ Georgieats
I absolutely love Burgerfuel – my all time favourite burger is the Peanut Piston, but sadly it is not on the menu at the moment.

I am a huge fan of their vegetarian burgers – Combustion Tofu which has a beautiful peanut and teriyaki sauce. More recently, their vegan burgers are pretty amazing – Beyond Beleaf (with not-beef) and Chook Free (with not-chicken). Love their Thickshakes too!

This is one of my favourite branches because it is close to the cinema (good for a quick movie night dinner) and also close to Aotea Square which is a nice place to sit in summer with your burger!

ZGold 20% OFF code: SYSTEM
One of the better branch, the food here is EXCELLENT. The only reason this is 3 stars instead of 5 is because of the staff and management's attitude. They try to save money by not giving the customers what they paid for (aïoli sauce, refusal of voucher redumption, etc).

Be careful and make sure your $5 fries come with the sauce! 🍟

Is it the only Burgerfuel serve burgers with plates?😆 Convenient location at Queen Street. Good place for a rest after shopping. Good burger for a fuel after school papers.
Sorry_vonguenumber
Not much to be said about the service as it is fast food. Thought I would try the Chook Free which is a vegan burger and it was surprisingly tasty

The absolute best burger out there, burger fuel stole my heart a few years ago and up to this day no one else managed to dethrone it. Awesome burgers and sides 🍔
Ang Sarap
I never review fast-food burgers but this American Muscle burger is so good it needs to have a footprint at Ang Sarap, it’s not just good but it’s so filling I guess it’s best to have this when you are so hungry after playing a game of rugby or basketball. When I was handed over the paper bag with the burger on it I felt like I had a dumbbell in my hands, well I might be exaggerating but it was heavy. I already like Burger Fuel in general but I loved them even more with this burger, it’s not as fancy as other elaborate burgers with add-ons such as truffle oil, pickled cauliflower, sweet caramelized onions, balsamic glazed mushrooms or even tears from virgin Amazon ants but it’s just a simple burger with double smashed beef patties, double cheddar, pickles, mustard aioli, relish in a bun that just works.

Burger fuel never disappoints me,this time I tried bastard.. now my new favourite it is.. huge and very juicy.. apt for someone who is HANGRY... Plus it serves HALAL
Ashley Johnstone
Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had, I love the minis as they are the perfect size for me to eat before work... one of my favorite food places even on date night ;)
Faraz Anwer
Very nice place love the halal option. Suggestion is to make little big juice and put some nice flavors of spice not indian spices. Good stuff guys.
Prab
Holy mother of burgers! Having been here a couple times I can confirm that they have some really good burgers consistently that actually feel like it was worth the money I paid. Definitely a place for some big messy burgers.
Darren Peters
Friendly helpfull service, Fairly priced, Top quality burgers with good gluten free options. Eating area clean and well presented. Would recommend for a causal meal.
Grace
Haven't been to burger fuel for years and to be honest a pretty average burger, not much flavor, was pretty disappointed. Service was average. Nothing to call home about. Also I bought spud fries and they did not give me any aioli.
Sreejith V Pawar
Best burgers i ever had. Soft fresh and chicken was so good. Tried thunderbird and it was so yummy and fresh. Loved the place and ambience. So neat and tidy and staffs are attentive and friendly. Will visit again. Kudos

I love burger fuel, but this time only order hamburgini with cheese and grab some desserts def bite chocolate.. best burger i ever had so far
Kushant Mansukhani
Ordered Hamburgini with cheese and fries. Loved it. It was super juicy and amazing in taste. The fries were a bit soggy. Wanted to rate this outlet 4.5 but i guess zomato doesnot gives you option to do that. Will rate 4/5 to this outlet.
Donna
Honestly love burgerfuel! It’s the best place to get kind of less fast food type burgers. I find it better than velvet burger as there is way more ingredients in their burgers. Recently tried their seoul train burger which has a nice korean twist.
Dee
wasn't a fan of big big burgers as they always get messy, tried the double american muscle - pretty much a good old double cheeseburger and boy did they nail this thing right on the head. My go to burger from now on, simple and a classic
Food.review.nz
My absolute go to when craving burgers - with so many stores around Auckland it's really handy to find one near you.

Always go for my usual - Chook Royale. It's a part of the mini burger series and it has delicious soft and tender chicken with the usual lettuce, tomato and onion and to top that off, they've added a grilled pineapple to give the burger an extra refreshing taste. A side of spud fries I feel, is always necessary and if you're into kumara fries more, they've got you sorted also!

I initially thought the pineapple would make my burger soggy but I was totally proved wrong! Highly recommend this above all other fast food chains.

Food 8.5/10
Service 6/10
Ambience 7/10
Price 6.5/10
Adarsh Chaturvedee
Fantastic experience! It was worth every penny. The staff were warm and welcoming. It felt special. The burger was nothing short of excellent. This might be the first time I had a pineapple slice in my burger but it added to the overall appeal of the meal. I loved it!
Mr.G (OFFICIAL)
Queen Street store is constantly busy, not a large store but always had a good time here, the shake was very nice well done! i would definitely recommend
Annie Wilson
Abit slow with service and the place can be very busy which is understandable but I have had my fries very cold once which is annoying and I haven't been back!
Jade0289
Tried their new Kungfu Pork Burger, and it was really good! Love the Hoisin sauce they use. It was a bit spicy but still acceptable.
Even though I come to BurgerFuel occasionally, I always get surprised by the size of the burger they serve😂😂 Plus quick& friendly service:)
Todd
As most chain restaurant this one delivers the same experience and quality of food as all other burgerfuels. However this one drops points due to the local flock of pigeons who have taken to scavenging inside the store. The pidgeons brazenly walk from the entrance way all the way into the kitchen even looking for food under the till. Something needs to be done to sort out these rats of the skies!
Jasmine
We stopped for a quick bite to eat before heading to the Civic Theatre on the weekend. Haven’t had Burger Fuel for years, and we weren’t impressed then, but things seemed to have improved and our burgers were really nice. I had a V-Dub Vege and he had a Bacon BBQ Roadster. We shared a bottle of coke and a portion of chips. Not much seating and we were lucky to find a spot to plonk ourselves down. A bit on the pricey side too, but staff were friendly and food was quick, so all in all not a bad experience.

The Bastard Burger bun got gooey down below due to the raw grated beetroot. Although the flavours seemed all good combined together, the bacon nd beef with the avocado...by the time half the burger got over I couldn't eat it as the lower bun had become a bloody mess. Quite upsetting. Maybe the grated beetroot could go right after the bacon and before the beef. That way the bun could retain its freshness

I bought Chicken Burnout burger and beer -battered fries tonight. I expected golden brown fries but half of them were soggy and rest were dry. When I opened the bag for the burger it was there like food waste. - avocado sauce was everywhere in the bag...disgusted....throw away into a rubbish bin straight away. I wasted my $18.90 tonight. This place needs improvement.

Burgerfuel is my go to place when I'm feeling like spending a little more on burgers than I usually would. I go here once every 2 months since it's quite pricey but every time go they never fail to amaze me.

The vegetarian burgers are absolutely amazing (well worth the price!)

I took my friend here for his first time and he said his burger was much better compared to betterburger/mcdonalds etc and worth the price.

I also ordered some spud fries and I loved the aioli!

Can't wait to come here again :)
Kelly Vilisoni-Richards
Ordered the Chook Royale without the pineapple as well as some spud fries.
The last time I was at burger fuel was 2 years ago so I thought it would be good to try them again.
Burger was good, chips however were dry and not as good as how I remembered them to be.
The aioli was oily, also not as good as how I remembered them to be.
Good service and clean restaurant.

Really love their gourmet burger. My favourite would be the char grilled burger, kumura fries and spud fries. Would eat there once in awhile.

Recently , I tried their latest fries which was the beer-battered fries and it is delicious!

Really love their queen street store as the staff here are really friendly and good cleanliness maintenance.
Imperius Malekith
Wide range of burger options available, and great that they use real ingredients (unlike most fast food burger places,) so worth the relatively high price. They also give a decent amount of sauces and meat on the burgers, and wait time was not too long. Only downside is the meat burgers are slightly too salty, salt flavour is overpowering. Will try a veggie burger next time.
Alina Mansuevna
I do love their burgers very much. It tastes like it is very freshly made and I can feel it's a beef, because in most other fast food places the quality and taste of beef is disgusting. My favorite ones so far are Flamethrower (chicken) and American Muscle (beef) which are very very yummy. Sure their other burgers are very nice, just haven't tried them yet. They do also deliver to home now which is a good news I think.
Ali
Nice and tasty.
Staff are nice, help with smile.
Provides Halal burgers when you ask for it.
Quality meat, and you pay for what you get.
But always crowded.
Marggie Pascua
I love burgerfuel. love their burgers and the kumara fries. ah the kumara fries. they are the best. Burger Fuel is a little bit too small for Queen Street, especially the amount of people that lines up for their amazing burgers, and they have limited seating. Usually get takeaway and eat the burgers in Aotea Square. I love their fries with aioli as well.
Avi Yabaluri
Not a place I go to every week but I still treat myself at one or the other outlet, once a month or so. I always get the Burnout... Chicken, bacon, salad, the cheese sauce and smashed avocado melting & mixing together... make it the best burger ever, to me! Excellent quality and the burger does fill me up for hours! Service is decent and efficient. No issues whatsoever, the prices are justified in my view.
Sonia Patel
Excellent customer service and amazing food ! We had their chook Royale burger , stud fries and chocolate milkshake - ALL TOO DELICIOUS! Totally recommend you try this joint :) very happy customers ..

Really bad service, pushy, took away my food before I was finished (without asking) but food was ok I guess, definitely not worth it for the money 😡😡😡

Flame Thrower is a must for heat lovers. The chicken is soft and tender. The Avocado sauce is fresh. Just Love it.
Best food when I don't like to cook at home.
Biggiechee
Iconic NZ burger joint so I decided to give it a try while visiting Auckland. We ordered the peanut piston, flame thrower and kumara fries with aioli. I like their doofers which makes it easier to eat the burger without it falling apart. The burgers were gourmet and tasted great. The flame thrower was very spicy. I liked the fries and their aioli sauce.
Tavita Milford
I bought two burgers from there and thought that I could finish both. Only came to the realisation that I couldn't even finish half of the first burger. So much greatness in the their burgers I just couldn't finish it. So I decided to save it until home.
Shaazia Sayyed
Being from London, this seems like a 'local' NZ burger joint, so I had to try it out. They have a nice selection of burgers, I opted for the 'CN' burger, a classic beef pattie with salad and mayonnaise, with a side of fries and strawberry milkshake. Must say the burger was delicious! Smokey, nice salsa, enough salad all in all a really good burger. The fries were also good, however small in size, could have been a bigger portion. The Strawberry milkshake was delicious, creamy and think. I would definitely eat here again.
Tom
Only had one burger here but I enjoyed it - chargrilled chicken, bacon, avocado and mustard. Very good for a burger chain - prefer it to Velvet Burger. Will go again.
Karen Gu
I love this hamburger especially "BioBurger"and"Ring burger" tastes great! It is worthy as your paid. The waiter working in this restaurant are both full of energies and a girl with pink hair is so nice>.
Lisa Kim
I love the kumara chips with a dip here. The waiting time is little long only for a cup of chips though. One day there were a family with three children, they looked so happy and was eating some burgers so yummy. I couldn't remember what was that flavours. I am still trying.
Farshid Hakimi
This is one of my favorite berger in Queen St.
My favorite choice is ford freakout.
It cooked perfectly and enough to souces and it fresh too.
My second choice problem would be bio fuel

And for on the side my fist choice would be chiken fenders.its tasty and come up with an amazing you ghost relish souces too.
They do have a really good friendly customer service as well.never let me down.
Must recommend.

After a couple visits in the past few years, I finally put my foot down and decide to do a formal burger review of BurgerFuel.

And while BurgerFuel may have been the one of the reasons the Dark Knight have set upon burger reviews on Zomato, this just doesn't cut it.

The burg I ordered was the Ring Burner. First impressions; plain. Almost reminiscent of dry fast-food burgers, the patty was cooked well done (that's a big no-no), and it didn't even have cheese. Whether or not it did have cheese wasn't gonna help the fact that the flavour profile was severely lacking. Perhaps the patty was under-seasoned? Maybe toasted buttered buns? Mandatory application of cheese for burgers?

I generally don't want to give bad reviews but the burgers here was just bland. Sorry (not sorry).
Danny
One of the first BurgerFuels in Auckland and still one of the best. If there's one thing NZ does well that's burgers - and BurgerFuel is evidence of that.

Yes, it's a bit pricey, but the burgers are quality. Bastard and Bacon Backfire are some of my favourites. They all go well with kumara fries and their (in)famous aioli dip.
Sam Papworth
Ordered the 'flamethrower' which was very hot, didn't leave a 'tingle' just burn! The chicken was great quality for a takeaway burger. The bun was soft and the burger holder you get with it is a great addition. Would definitely go again for the same burger (even though it was very hot) and others. Best takeaway burger so far in Auckland, the only downside is the price when compared to places like Better Burger which is of similar quality.
XX_Mystery_Reviewer_Xx
The design of the outlet was nice and was able to fit a number of people. The quality of the burger that I had- the "Burnout" was amazing and the size was worthy of the price. A total that was just under $20 left me full, delighted and tired after eating a delicious meal.

r8 8/8 ign
Rona Dalgleish
Yes it's dear but you can taste the quality. Had the Bastard burger with kumera fries with a vanilla thick shake and didn't leave a morsel! Was rammed full of avocado, beetroot, red onion, tomato, cheese and so much more! Love it
Helena Chen
BurgerFuel always hits the spot and satisfies any kind of burger craving. The burgers are massive (for me anyway) and the meat is tender, juicy and fresh tasting. My favourite burgers are the peanut piston, the burnout & ford freakout, although I haven't tried many others as these ones are so good. Also, some of the best kumura fries and aioli around! Although I'm usually so full after the burger, the fries is definitely a bit of a struggle (worth it).
WeiTing Ashley Shyu
BurgerFuel always provides for a delicious, filling meal. I grabbed some lunch here before departing for Waiheke and was pleasantly surprised at how fresh my burger tasted. The Flamethrower was perfectly balanced with avocado, jalapeño sauce and grilled chicken. We didn't have to wait too long before our food was served either! Thumbs up.

Wanted to dine from Papparich but the place was packed. So trusted option is burger fuel. Been here numerous times before my zomato days. Great service great burger. With so many different burger choices around I still feel burger fuel is one among the top 5.
Life is too short for bad burgers.

Try the new Lamberjack.
Lawrie
Great friendly service and fast out of the kitchen. Kids loved the nuggets and cheese burger. Make sure your hungry if you order the Bastard. It's large.
Vivi S
It always seems to be pouring whenever I go to BurgerFuel. Maybe I go to BurgerFuel only when it pours. Or it just pours all the time in Auckland these days? Yea. All the above may be true. BurgerFuel has become a fortnightly thing lately. I love their Motobites. Pumpkin and chickpeas and aioli dip! I am so getting a blender soon. BurgerFuel is a Kiwi burger chain that has started in Ponsonby, Auckland, and has since gone global, with stores as far as Dubai airport.
Ryan
Enjoy their burgers. Their the first place that comes to mind when we think about getting some burgers. Service can be a bit slow when busy, which the store often is. But service has always been good every visit. Chips are really good and worth getting.
Victoria
This burger fuel is great. Always busy (but not slow), staff friendly and a decent atmosphere inside. Close to us so a nice treat if we're feeling like some burgers. Love the chips as well...really tasty even tho a burger alone is enough to fill you up!
I'm Hungry
For a burger chain style menu this one is a must try. Out of all.the stereotype burger chains burger fuel has lived up to its taste and reputation. The bastard burger takes the cake. Definitely recommended!
Jason Fernandez
Burgers were very good. Fries were overcooked but not bad. The staff came off as somewhat rude.
Anita
Fine burgers but staff always come across that they are only working until they get their big film break. Arrogant attitudes taint otherwise nice burgers.
Jan
Great burger, excellent fries. Gluten free bun is excellent and very much appreciated!
Islandirie
Excellent quality of burgers here and so full of flavor! You definitely get your money's worth for fast food at Burger Fuel. The kumara chips extraordinary!!
Rebecca Smith
An average Burgerfuel restaurant. Prompt service even in the lunch rush however there seemed to be less of some of the ingredients, such as salad and sauce than other Burgerfuel places I have visited. I had the Beetnik burger and fries with aioli. The burger pattie was tasty but just needed a bit more sauce to counter the dry pattie.

When you talk about burgers Mc Donalds is the first name to strike! But that's only till the time you have not tried Burger fuel!!!

Their burgers are just out of this world.. Fresh buns, juicy chicken and some really fresh vegetables with some southwest sauce and layers of cheese will just blow your taste buds!
I tried their Burnout, Bacon Backfire Burger (my favourite because of the BACON) and Chook Royale (mini burger to satisfy my mini hunger for the day) and each of them had its own flavor to it.
The Bacon Backfire is just soo good that you will love to come back to this place for this burger almost every second day. Grilled chicken breast, bacon, melted brie, salad and relish.... makes it HEAVENLY!!!
And oh, have you heard about pineapple in a burger?? Well if you haven't, then try their Chook Royale and you will realize the bliss when grilled chicken meets pineapple and tomato sauce in the middle of a burger bun!
Truly amazing burgers and a must visit for anyone looking to get pleasantly surprised while eating their 'meal of the day'!
