Review Fact Tree - Auckland

Alex Sydney
We ate breakfast here and it was a lovely dining experience. Quaint peaceful atmosphere. Coffee and food were delicious. We had the bacon bagel and the big breakfast. Plated presentation was well done, and overall recommended for a morning breakfast.

GREAT PLACE MUST GO IF IN SUNNYNOOK! However for an order at the counter Cafe prices are a little more than expected table service should've been given

Wonderful food and kind staff. Been going here for 2+ years, as of now I usually go with my boyfriend. Since we’re both broke uni students we split meals, and its pretty affordable for the quality you get. The pulled-pork burger is our favourite and I get the salted caramel latte almost weekly. Absolutely amazing stuff :)

Super nice cafe with friendly service. Place if very popular and filled up quickly. The meal was top quality and the eggs were done 100% what I ordered. Ample parking next door.

An abundant & tasty brunch. I went with what most reviewers were noting - Eggs Benedict. It didn’t disappoint.. egg was perfect & bacon crispy.. rosti potato & creamed spinach a great compliment. I felt welcome to hang out & read/write while sipping on my second cappuccino.

I came here with my mother and partner to have a nice afternoon brunch. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quite pleasant and spacious. The staff are quite friendly as well and promptly sat us down at a table. Mum ordered the Eggs Benedict and me and my partner ordered the Scotch Steak Sandwich. We also ordered the caramel frappe which was perfectly balanced in terms of sweetness. The food came to our table in about 20 minutes, which is acceptable and well worth the wait. They are quite generous with their portion sizes and the steak was cooked beautifully. We really enjoyed our visit here and if you happen to be in Sunnynook, then definitely give this place a shot! Thank you for the amazing service and food.

Love this place. The food always hits and great service.

Fact-Tree serves delicious brunch meals that are affordable and good serving portion. Staff has always been friendly and attentive. They are one of our go-to cafés in the North Shore. Weekends can be quite busy for them. Must try: Horseradish Creamy Mushroom and Seafood Chowder. They serve great coffee too!

Very delicious and healthy too. We got the blueberry pancake with caramelised banana, along with the fruit and icecream. Plenty of tasty fruits and candyfloss was beautiful and delicious also. Great for morning tea treats and afternoon snacks. We will try the breakfast menu soon too! Service: 4/5 Food Quality: 4/5 Food Quantity: 5/5 Presentation: 5/5 Environment: 4/5 Price per person: $20

Overall experience is still great, service is efficient and warm. Food is as tasty as expected aside from the overcooked over and easy egg on the Facts-Tree big breakfast. Ginger latte tasted fantastic... shall come back for other stuff.

Well this was the disappointment of the year.<br/>We booked a table for 9 of us to eat lunch and catch up.<br/><br/>I ordered the chicken burger, while my friends ordered a range of food.<br/><br/>Sadly the food all arrived at totally different times, in fact we had all finished our food before the final meal was served<br/><br/>We watched at other tables getting food while half our table was sitting there watching others eat.<br/><br/>My burger was decent however the chips were over cooked (very) <br/>My friend grabbed a squid salad which looked pretty good and the waffles also looked great<br/><br/><br/>It was just a disappointing lunch and put us off going there again, they need to focus on serving one group at a time and no in the haphazard way it is.
Carla
Fact-Tree is one of our favorite cafes. They make good coffee and frappe. The cafe is usually busy on weekends so make sure to book your table for bigger crowds. The food serving is large and price is reasonable. I either order Bacon Eggs Benedict or Horseradish Creamy Mushroom...oh so YUMMY! I also love their seafood chowder! We just keep coming back... cheers!

We went after looking at zomato reviews, it's a nice little cafe in a middle of sunnynook. Can get very busy, it took us 15 mins to find a place. They were very nice to call us when it was available. We had chicken burger , prawns and scallops and kids waffles with ginger latte and plum tea. Everything was good , just didnt liked the flavor of chicken burger, otherwise nice place for a good hearty meal.

Really nice food, decent portion size & excellent service

Coffee was excellent

Delicious breakfast.

Super yummy food, nicely presented and staff are friendly. The cafe is always busy so be prepared for small tables or waits

First time checking this place out. The ice chocolate was nice and thick and coffee was good. The 3 eggs Bene we ordered were all unfortunately not runny eggs. This took off the stars for my rating. The pork burger was on the sweeter side, would of liked it more savoury but that is just down to preference. Staff were lovely, immediately seated and water given. Overall it’s okay but would probably not order eggs if I were to go again.

I had the Thai Salad and I Loved it so muchhh! I normally don't like eating salad a lot as there's not much flavour in it and it's not cooked AND im asian lol BUT I loved it so much as the sauce was really goodddd will give it a 9/10. However the coffee was average as it was a bit burnt. (5/10)

Came here for the first time with my mum on a Tuesday afternoon, it wasn't too crowded then. The waitresses were very friendly. We ordered mocha, blueberry pancakes, sweet potato wedges and iced chocolate. Mum really liked the hot mocha. The iced chocolate was very thick and rich, it was amazing. The wedges were very crispy, and tasted amazing with the sweet chilli, sour cream, cheese and bacon. The pancake was very uniquely presented and was very delicious too. Overall this place is great!

FactTree is probably one of the best cafes for brunch . Amazing smoothies, milkshakes and coffee, friendly staff, delicious food and reasonably priced! <br/><br/>Also good to take kids and dogs to (outside tables)

Consistently great coffee each time. Local for me so very grateful. I have got many takeaway coffees each time Ive gone past and each one has been perfect. Recently got a fluffy for my son as well and was impressed with the fluffy takeaway and hpw much care and effort they put into it. For some reason I never seem to have enough time to try their food, but have sat down once or twice to try their cabinet food and was impressed. Will try to come back for an actual cooked meal which my friends tell me is amazing.
Rani
Absolutely loved their mocha frapp but was not too impressed with the food considering all the hype I have heard. Maybe it’s because my expectations were quite high? I believed the flavours were quite average but they did have good portion sizes for what you pay for.<br/><br/>Quite a few times I noticed was the staff usually talk behind the counter and we had to get the menus and water ourselves. Service is slow but staff are friendly.

Open chicken sandwich @facttree_cafe This hidden gem in North Shore is a busy place for brunch/coffee. Sandwich was served with open toast bread, hummus, haloumi , pineapple and prepped grilled chicken #food #fashion #travel #foodfashiontravel #twinklingtaurus Fruit salad could have been better.<br/>

Very busy cafe! We had a very nice brunch here. Good menu selection and delicious food 🥰 staff also friendly and good. We enjoyed our meals! <br/><br/>

I don’t have a bad word to say about this place! The food is amazing and reasonably priced the staff are lovely and the atmosphere is great! I genuinely have no recommendations of what they could do better except have more seats so I can come on busy days 😘
Jenning C.
Very friendly staff and nice environment. We set outside with our dog. Food is yummy and portion is generous. Coffee was good. Highly recommend!

I go here most days for brunch.<br/>Scotch fillet sandwich is perfect and vanilla latte as well.<br/>I love this place :)
Carol W.
I ordered the chicken burger, which was really tasty and appetizing. The brownie was delicious as well with rich chocolate and butter flavour.
Hi
the staff are generally warm and friendly. though this wasnt a major, i was disappointed by the fact that i came here for my birthday brunch and mentioned this in the booking, yet no acknowledgement was made of this fact. the decor is cute, adding to fact-trees rep for being a highly photogenic cafe. i return here again and again not only for food that is often both delicious for the eyes and the tastebuds but also for the great value. <br/><br/>the waffles looked and tasted incredible, decorated with candy floss and edible flowers, these were also pretty cheap in comparison to many waffles found in auckland. the scrambled eggs on toast were okay, however, they lacked flavour and i wouldnt order this again. despite being noticably less attractive, the kids pasta was tasty and an extremely generous portion for only $10. the eggs benedict is the best ive tasted so far, the portion size is huge and the potato rostis that the eggs rest on are crispy, flavourful and elevate the dish immensely. all of the drinks from fact-tree are instaworthy, with iced drinks served in mason jars and a mountain of whipped cream and teas served in adorable, mint green tea pots.

Mince on toast with salad was good to have for brunch. And their big breakfast was ok. The place was full of people even the outside tables.
Trin
Food 5/5<br/>Ambient 5/5<br/>Service 5/5<br/><br/>This place never disappoint! Especially with Zomato Gold you have the opportunity to try more different dishes!<br/><br/>Service is great, owners are attentive and friendly. The only tip is to go early or book a table! This place is always busy!<br/><br/>My favorite dish so far is their corn fritters with bacon 😍
Hiro
Consistently good food and coffee. Seems like it’s changed a few owners over the years, but the standard hasn’t changed and good value for money. Great having this as a local.<br/>

Ordered the eggs bene on potato Rosti and iced white chocolate via ubereats. Both items were very well prepared and taste amazing. The hollandaise sauce is not overpowering and very tasty. The eggs were perfectly poached with runny yolk. The iced white choclate taste like a milky bar :D! Best iced white chocolate I’ve ever had , unlike some that just taste like milk. Thank you for making amazing food :D
John Rogers
We had avo smash on potato rosti which was spiral potatoes. This was a beautiful plate of food although we thought the serving size could have been larger. The egg on both plates unfortunately was cold and this was a shame.. We will definitely return and try some other lunch time dishes as they looked nice. The service was friendly.
Ashleigh Manukau-McEwan
The food was incredible, and the staff even more so! If I could, I’d come here every morning for breakfast. The highlight was the hollandaise sauce! <br/>Thank you so much staff, I can’t praise you enough.
Rhiana.j
Please try the iced white chocolate!!! It literally tasted like a melted block of white chocolate, I could’ve bought another one!😅🤤 <br/><br/>The old Lincoln pork burger was amazing too! Overflowing with amazing pulled pork and a nice palette cleanser with the apple slaw. They put tomato and sprouts on the side which I loved because I could see how some people wouldn’t like that in the burger, but for me it elevated it even more since pulled pork can get sickly after a while. The brioche bun really tied it all together and balanced out the heavy ness of the meat with the light and fluffy ness of the bun. The fries were a bit bland but nothing a bit of salt cant do. <br/><br/>The service was also great, very friendly, nothing to complain about there. Such a tucked away calm location and an awesome park nearby to work off the meal 😄😄👍
GaelM
The service was polite and very prompt. The food was delicious and the coffee perfect. I can see why the cafe is busy. <br/>However the service is still very efficient.

We love what they offer here in Fact-Tree hence we go back again and again just to try what we haven’t ordered before or see what they are offering new, I posted a review of this before but today it’s for a different dish. The perfect time to go here is for brunch first because there will be lesser people compared to lunch and breakfast plus their breakfast is huge in size so having one meal in between in perfect.
Chris
I go here most days for coffee. Coffee was excellent but they have recently changed baristas and I think the new one is not as good.<br/>The food is always very good. I usually have the salmon and cream cheese bagel which is very good. Only quality ingredients are used here.
Jhye21
Zomato gold discount code: JHYE0127<br/><br/>It was my second time<br/>I loved ginger latte!<br/>It was super busy.<br/>I found little egg shell from my dish but it was alright. better than hairs<br/><br/>Anyway location is a bit odd, portion size is good!!
Chelle Bellz
Always enjoy the food here one of my favourite cafes local to me and this is the open steak sandwich that I ordered so good with a mushroom sauce clean and friendly staff highly recommend.
Kristen
Went here expecting quite good food because of the 4.4 average rating, but we were disappointed. We got the mince on toast and the big breakfast and it was very average. On the menu it says there is salad with each meal but both our meals had salad leaves dumped on the top, covering our food almost like we had been served a plate of leaves as we couldn’t see what was underneath. Quite strange presentation and nothing really special about the food :/
Megan James
Visited today and was blown away by the service. The staff are so accommodating! Got us a high chair as soon as we walked through the door for our baby. When they made me a coffee instead of an iced coffee, they let me keep the coffee for free! <br/><br/>I got the BLEAT with avocado, totalling to $22. For me this is a fairly expensive meal, therefore I had various expectations- however it had the packeted processed cheese on it! This cheese is not appetising at all, and tastes like plastic. For $22, this let me down a lot. However they were generous with the avocado- which was $3 extra. The fried egg felt a little out of place, and was a little metallic tasting. The bacon was cooked pretty perfect, and salad was fresh. Portion wise, the meal was very generous, served with chips and aioli. To be honest a bit of an average meal, but would go back for something from the cabinet maybe?<br/><br/>Partner got a steak sandwich which he said he thoroughly enjoyed and had no complaints.
Nansei Isoguchi
Food is amazing and the staff are accomodating even though they're busy. I have been here a few times now and they are always busy. They make good coffees and food. Always worth it to come back.
Natasha
It’s not often you find a cafe that you would rate 5 stars on each visit! Food is always amazing, such good quality and really good value. On this visit we chose the Big Breakfast and Eggs Benedict. Both meals were delicious. The staff are very lovely too! The only negative would be the plastic straws. <br/><br/>Definitely a hidden gem 💎
Hina Patel
A cute little cafe in a quiet town, the lady who served me, (I think she might have been the owner) was lovely. She was also very welcoming and friendly to all the customers that arrived after me as well, making sure everyone was comfortable. Food was delicious. I've had pancakes at other places and they have always been overly sweet, but these pancakes were perfect with just the right amount of sweetness. Avo smash on toast with halloumi was yummy too! Overall, I love this place and I reccomend everyone to try it at least once, I'll be back for sure :)
Ziqing
A very popular place with great food! Love the dishes and ice chocolate! I enjoyed a wonderful time with my besties, the service is also good:)
Lorraine Edkins
Had not 1, but 2 flys in my eggs benedict this morning and was then charged full price for a meal I could not finish.&nbsp; I was given a complementary muffin (free of charge) but I told them I was not happy to pay for a meal that I couldnt finish.&nbsp; They seemed to agree with me but then charged me any way !!!
Liana Gunawan
My daughter and I went for lunch. The food were amazing, the staff were super friendly and nice. The new staff made a mistake with our order but the manager gave us a compliment straight away which was really appreciated. The portion were generous. Will definitely come back next time. This is one of the best cafe that I've ever been.
Nicole Choy
The food was really good and Ioved their smoothies! Cute, cozy little cafe. Really busy considering it was tucked away in Sunnynook so people really go there for the food / drinks. Really recommend this place :)
Lambo
Super nice brunch spot with friendly staff<br/><br/>We ordered the New York bagel and the French toast<br/>The French toast was delicious! Would definitely recommend for someone who likes their sweet and salty flavours<br/>The bagel was the hardest thing to try to cut! It was delicious non the less but might was to stay away from it if for those who dont have the upper arm strength
Amit Mehta
This place was SO good! Food was delicious and huge portions, definitely worth the $. Got some cool facts with each drink, was so cute! Loved the place.
Amindha Fernando
This cafe is a bit of a journey from where I am but their creamy mushrooms makes the trip worth it. Great location and fantastic coffee. Worthy to make a trip out from if you're not in the shore.

I came to Fact-Tree with a friend for the first time, having heard of its quality food from other friends and family and seeing that it was on Zomato Gold. I must say, this place lived up to its expectations. I ordered the pulled pork burger, and all the flavours worked really well together, and it was a satisfying food portion.<br/><br/>The café is pretty loud, however, that just shows the sign of how popular and busy it is. I would recommend this place to many.
Tanja Jujnovich
The iced chocolate and eggs bene are amazing!!! Big portions, love that the bene was on hash browns. Almost ordered an extra ice chocolate it was that good.
Jenny
Felt like we were tricked.<br/>Ordered two meals and told staff we were using zomato gold but time came to pay they charged us extra for the salmon that we ordered with the smashed avocado. They should have told us that the free meal only applies to the basics . So if you are goong to use zomato gold make sure what they will charge for. <br/><br/>The cafe should have explained their own rules of what is considered free under zomato gold privileges.<br/><br/>Felt upset and very unhappy about that.
Cecelia
We Ordered Crispy prawn and squid salad and Shaking Thai beef salad. The food part: Quality 4.5, taste 5, service 4.5. Atmosphere 5. We also order tea, it tastes as general not as good as the food.

Not bad food, our dishes and coffee were lacking, but would go back and try again as it might not be across the board. It’s a little cramped, but it’s not a big cafe, so to be expected.
Mabel Gu
terrible~too busy~wait nearly 40 minutes for just two main: chicken salad & big breakfas~ not very happy experience…food just fine, average level only
Becky Kuang
Second time at Fact Tree. Very busy small cafe at Sunnynook. Enjoyed their steak sandwich. Last time tried their big breakfast. The portion was huge and tasted nice as well.
Brian Foose
Fact tree offers Great service, Amazing food as usual. Generous portion size. Busy little place. More then 4 people recommended to make reservation first.
Ruvinika Jayasundera
This place is awesome! Hubby had a big brekkie and I had a steak sandwich along with a cappuccino and a caramel frappe. All were super yummy and we were very satisfied. Overall very affordable food and portions are pretty big. Servers are sweet and friendly. Food came to the table quickly even though the cafe was busy when we went there.<br/>Will be going back soon. Interesting menu so we need to taste them all!
Kelsey Adair
Popped in here twice the service has been great both times. The coffee is alright. We had the eggs bene the portion is huge and I tried the pancakes. I found them way too sweet unfortunately. Just a bit dry and needed something tangy or sour to tone down the sweetness. Overall good meal
Christopher Wong
Went for brunch with Zomato Gold. Prawn and scallop had very good flavours. Smashed avocado was tasty but on the small side. Note for Zomato Gold users, if you add on to meals eg smoked salmon this isn't factored into the price of the cheaper meal so you end up paying full price for that which was a little disappointing not to be told before ordering
Ali
Great food, coffee, service and atmosphere. Will definitely be going back for more and trying more items on the menu. The staff are friendly too
Jaime Talaue
Absolutely delicious and the price is just right. Crew members were very nice and always ready to serve customers. Will definitely go back and try all from the menu.
Rex Chen
We went there for early lunch on a Monday and the place was crowded , very popular and most of the patrons are regular I think, the good is distinctive and bit different from usual cafe dishes . Service is friendly and will definitely return

It’s a very busy cafe, maybe because its the only one in the area? Service could be faster & better. <br/>We had high hopes but the food was average. The bacon benedict lacked flavour & the hashies werent consistently cooked through. The salad lacked seasoning & sauce.
Amy
Honestly. The food was amazing! It was the service that really let me down. Our coffees didn’t arrive until our food was very nearly gone. To get these coffees to our table I had to ask 3 times. The staff are friendly. Service needs a lot more work
Santiago Carrillo
Really good and creative food items on their list<br/>The staff was friendly really paid attention into the order. Overall had a great experiance will go again
Jessica Kim
My favourite cafe ever. Once again I experienced great service and amazing food :) I highly recommend anyone keen for a good brunch session!
Christine
All time favourite place ! Love the warm and earthy vibe this place has 😍 food came out really late however it was delicious. Have to be really honest that there may have been some change with the dishes as thai beef salad used to have crispy noodles but it came with ‘noodle-like’ crispy toppings so 4 stars instead of 5. Overall it was a great experience :)
Nadia Matthews
Worth every dollar and highly recommend. Have recently visited using our Zomato gold membership where we received a complimentary meal free which makes it even more affordable! We went on a Saturday so it was very busy and I would recommend booking a table in advance unless you are willing to wait. The food was great (my go to is usually the creamy mushrooms) and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Overall, it has become one of my regulars that I go back to again and again!
K Jenny
I visited here couple of times. Absolutely fantastic cafe I've ever seen in North Shore. And I liked friendly service and foods a lot! Higly recommand.
Dini
Absolutely fantastic. Worth every dollar. We visited with Zomato Gold, they have a great process for Zomato Gold users. Thought the service was really good and efficient. Place was busy but staff were very accommodating for anyone waiting. Food was fantastic, catered to my dietary needs and when I double checked the bread, there was no attitude, but just genuine concern. And the spicy chai (with coconut milk) was the best I've ever had. Highly recommended!
Karina
Have been to fact-tree a couple times and I think its a pretty good cafe considering there isn't many in the area and I can easily see it being a popular cafe in Takapuna or central. I've ordered the chicken salad before which was good and this time I came I got the avo smash with bacon but ordered it without egg. The wait was a little long but they were fairly busy so all good. However when the avo smash was on the counter I could see an egg on it and I saw the waitress say something to the chef and noticed he took the egg off, which in my opinion isn't right as I could have had an egg allergy. Definitely recommend if you are in the area :)

A little local coffee, good for a good talk with friends during the day. Food is very nice and well presented. Staff are nice and friendly too. However, be aware that this cafe is very popular as it is packed most of the time, so be prepared to wait for your emal a bit longer than usual, especially at weekend. If u have a friend to talk and joke with, the wait is not realy a problem ae :). Plus, very good value if you have Zomato Gold :p
Romana Petrie
This is such a cute little cafe with really friendly staff. We felt welcome the second we walked in. The food and drinks came out really quickly too.<br/><br/>All of the food was presented really well and added to the vibe. We both got eggs benedict and it was really nice. I just felt like the eggs Benedict was lacking something but I'm not sure what it was. The potato roasti was super nice though!<br/><br/>However I saw someone order pancakes and I really want to go back and try those soon because they looked AMAZING!<br/>
Lucy
Nice cafeteria in the suburb of Sunnynook. The place was extremely busy the day we went but it didn’t take too long for the food to be served. Also has a lively vibe.<br/><br/>The food are greatly portioned as they add lots of salad to the plates. The steak was tender and juicy. The prawn and squid were nice and crispy. I loved the freshly fried kumara and potato slices, however would be nice if they drained out all the chips oil before adding onto the salads.<br/><br/>Flat white was good. And loved the ice mocha frappes!<br/><br/>Food: 8/10<br/>Food presentation: 8/10<br/>Service: 7/10<br/>Location: 7/10<br/>Ambience: 7/10<br/>Price $25 per person
Michael Chen
Nice location as its not a busy area. Good availability of parking. <br/><br/>Food is great, ordered the steak sandwich which was delicious and their iced-mocha is so good. Also part of Zomato Gold which is a bonus.
Jellyyy
Been waiting to come to this place for brunch for a while, food was quite average and plus a odd location, I don’t why it s been a busy spot for coffee and food, my hash cake was still undercooked, literally can taste the raw potato and my mate s one, my gosh, good luck for finding a scallop in it. Lots of prawns tho.
Gonf
Well, i heard about this place a lot, but it did not line up my expectaions, food was average, staffs were not attentive, menu is complicated, hash browns were still raw.
Cherry Qian
The best cafe on the Shore! Awesome food with nice staff! Definitely will be back again! (Avocado smash on sourdough with smoked salmon & open chicken sandwich in the picture)
Jessica TheBurrito
This place had amazing food, coffee, and service. Couldn't ask for a better cafe. <br/>I would recommend this place to anyone with a big appetite, the portions are huge. <br/>The only thing is that the place is really busy (because it is that good) therefore, not the quietest place.
Lawrarr.ben
Been here a few times now. Awesome friendly service and delicous food both times. Would recommend and will definitely be back again :D Thanks
Nathan Tan
This was a nice experience. The atmosphere was well accompanied by the amazing food. A friend and I shared the blueberry pancake and smoked salmon bagel. <br/><br/>The bagel was fantastic, however the pancake did not follow those footsteps. The pancake was nice, fluffy and very appealing but it was way to much to handle. This thing was loaded with sugar which made every bite a challenge. <br/><br/>Overall the experience was great and I’ll definitely be back sometime.
Asia
This place is so good. The food is all beautifully presented, and all just a little bit 'extra', especially considering how reasonably priced. We got the New York bagel, the eggs benedict and the kids waffles. They were all beautiful. The eggs were perfect, the waffles were very impressive. The bounty hot chocolate was really good.<br/>Great service too. Got the balance between friendly and intrusive just right.
Jamie Luke Murray
I used to live a two minute walk from this cafe and what an absolute gem to have had on my doorstep! Deeply miss not living local to this cafe anymore as the luscious coffee blend is so smooth, flavoursome & always unvarying. All the duty baristas take real care in producing their coffee and ensure it's the consistent perfect temperature every time. The front of house staff are observant, courteous and very commendable. Lastly the kitchen team & food is final piece that completes this wonderful cafe. The kitchen's portions are very generous and the quality, wait time and presentation of the meals are first class. Fact-Tree is an admirable and worthy cafe and I highly recommend it.
Avi
Been wanting to come here for a while based on reviews. Place was packed. It was first week of the school holidays. The food was actually quite good. Had Thai beef salad and poached eggs on toast. However the staff seem overwhelmed by the rush. Coffees and food took a really long time. I'd come back for the food. But service was really not good.
Julie Valencia
My husband said they have the best eggs bene with bacon in Auckland! I had the vege Fact Tree brekkie and it was super filling! And they were so friendly and nice! Even gave my dog waiting by the door a bowl of water. It’s a hidden gem in Sunnynook. 😄
Anthony & Zoey
Great cafe! It was super busy when we arrived. But the wait for food was reasonable, not too long at all. The food is always consistent! Taste so good! Haven't ordered anything that has disappointed me yet and I've been a few times! Their homemade hash brown is amazing! Will definitely go back again for sure!
OwenLiang
Great food and service as always! Love the “potato cake”(not sure the exact name) under the Egg Benedict! Had a mocha today, it was creamy and milky but not very sweet with chocolate, exactly what I like! Nice food might need more patient to wait, but it definitely worth it.
Ven
3.5 stars overall.<br/><br/>Food: 3.5.<br/>Really good variety of options! I ordered the vegetarian brekkie. Thoroughly enjoyed the hash, it was fried deliciousness of grated potato 😍. <br/>However, the rest was a little underwhelming, as it was a salad was just thrown on top of some bread and eggs. Was just missing that little oomph factor, otherwise tasted satisfactory. <br/>My friend ordered the eggs Benedict which she rated highly and thoroughly enjoyed. <br/>The latte was wonderful! <br/><br/>Service: 5/5.<br/>Lovely, friendly and attentive staff. Food arrived promptly. <br/><br/>Atmosphere: 4/5.<br/>Fact tree is such a cute cafe! It’s a really nice place to catch up with friends with its chic interior. <br/>Tends to get busy really fast so come during off peak periods to nab your spot.
Rachel
Staff is so friendly. Always come for the smashed avocado on potato rosti so good and priced very well. Quite often it’s very busy but can book a table which is super convenient. Highly recommend.
Leslie Tan
Best smoothies in Auckland. Period. The owner is lovely and very accommodating. The big breakfast is delicious and the portions are massive. Bless up 🙏
Acelin James
Really enjoyed the food here! Serving sizes are quite large so you get what you pay for! Even more so with the tomato gold membership. The shake I had was super tastey. My partners pancakes were a little dry nearer the end but we both enjoyed it never the less!
Romee K
Hassle free using GOLD membership. We ordered one from kids menu so I was thinking this will be the one that would be taken off my total bill but it was the omelette😊. It was really nice that one of the cafe staff advised this before I even questioned.<br/><br/>The menus we tried were all so delicious👍. Serving portion was also big. This cafe is small but very busy you might need to wait a bit to get a table.
Logan Burgess
Food was good quality, service was great, loved the coffees and shakes (not good for a diet though 😂)<br/>Would return, definitely worth the 10min wait at 10.30 on Sunday morning
Chris L
I initially gave them a 5 star but recent visits I didn’t see the owner and old ladies working here are so rude. They were grumpy and showing angry face to selected people
Liam Buckley
I love this cafe! They always have fresh & delicious looking cabinet food, but I normally order from the breakfast menu - eggs benedict or fact tree breakfast. I love the homemade potato rosti.  Yum.
Coffee Macarons
Had a pleasant visit for a weekend brunch today. The staff were kind and polite. The interior was presented well with simple designs. The cafe itself was small but it was really crowded due to its popularity. Loved their avocado smash. Had chia seeds and lots of avo on top. Their fruit bowl had fresh fruit and not frozen which I liked. The coffee was great. Appreciated gold membership. Recommended.
Food
Have been here before and the food and drinks are always excellent! However, we had an unfortunate experience with our latest visit. We walked in and most of the tables were taken, which is pretty standard for weekend brunch time. We thought someone would greet us and ask us if we wanted to wait for a table etc, but we stood there for ages and all the staff ignored us for like 5 minutes. Not a single person spoke to us. Then a couple had finished eating and got up from their table so we started eyeing it up, wondering if we could take their place. This waitress saw us looking and glared at us and said “you can’t sit there, it’s going to be reserved for someone ”. Didn’t even say hello or anything! <br/><br/>Then we said “that family outside looks like they’re nearly finished could we sit there once they leave?” To which she said “yes, but only after they leave. So you’ll have to wait.” Like, obviously after they leave!!! I wasn’t exactly planning on sitting in their laps or something. <br/><br/>Once the family left, we sat at the table for about 10 minutes and no one served us. So my boyfriend politely asked the same waitress if she could please get us a menu and she was all snippy and just rolled her eyes and said “fine.” <br/><br/>Shocking service!!! I get that it’s busy and the staff might not notice every person, but once it’s brought to their attention the least they could do is be friendly. As someone who has worked in customer service, I would never treat any customer so rudely. <br/><br/>

Great food and great service as always. Really enjoyed the ambience. Have tried egg Benedict everywhere and no one beats Fact Tree for their eggs Benedict and hash brown. Love their creamy mushroom and sour dough bread too. Kids meals are also good-sized portions. Can’t recommend it more. Simply love this place.

Very delicious and healthy too. <br/><br/>We got the blueberry pancake with caramelised banana, along with the fruit and icecream. <br/><br/>Plenty of tasty fruits and candyfloss was beautiful and delicious also. <br/><br/>Great for morning tea treats and afternoon snacks. We will try the breakfast menu soon too!<br/><br/>Service: 4/5<br/>Food Quality: 4/5<br/>Food Quantity: 5/5<br/>Presentation: 5/5<br/>Environment: 4/5<br/>Price per person: $20

It's not the best location, but it was really busy when i came. Everyone seems happy with their food. I was full at that moment, so i ordered blueberry pancake and summer fruit bowl. They were both really pretty, candy floss were so good. Service nice and friendly.

Good food and EXCELLENT SERVICE!!! All the staff were always smiling. No wonder the place was packed. Plus the servings were huge. Will go back for sure. Have to try their smoothies!

Went for brunch on Saturday and ordered the fact tree breakfast. Staff were friendly, food was very good - the homemade tomato sauce was a highlight. We had 2 smoothies, mint chocolate and blueberry coconut. Both were amazing and different. Would definitely come back again!

Great coffee, great service. Yummy food. Great lunch had by all :) Come here a lot and have never had a disappointing meal for lunch. Havent come for breaky before but i will need to soon.

Food: 5/5<br/>Their Old Lincoln Pork Burger is so flavourful, great amount of sauce. The Fact-Tree Breakfast is a favourite if you want an all-rounder for breakfast. Portion sizes are massive - Always leave with a full, happy stomach. <br/><br/>Drinks: 5/5<br/>Their smoothies are very well made and are very tasty. My favourite is the Iced Chocolate Frappe, very milky, chocolatey and delicious.<br/><br/>Service: 5/5<br/>Always spectacular service, very friendly.

Food here is always good! Its not the petite amount some cafes give you but a big portion and its amazing!! They are always busy so it is a bit hard to get hold of the waiters however they are friendly. :)

The first two times I came here I ordered the Eggs Benedict and both times were a miss. The first time I went there the hollandaise sauce had too much lemon, but the potato rosti and bacon were cooked perfectly. <br/><br/>The second time I ordered the Eggs Benedict the hollandaise had less lemon, but it was quite heavy and buttery (as in it tasted of butter). The bacon and the rosti were underwhelming and not cooked as well. <br/><br/>After my first two visits I felt like fact tree deserved a 3/5 for their food. <br/><br/>The third time I went we ordered their Brioche French Toast, Old Lincoln Pork Burger and their Chef Special Pasta which was Carbonara.<br/><br/>This time was a real game changer for me. The French Toast was absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. <br/><br/>The Carbonara was perfectly balanced and the mushrooms were cooked to perfection (I’m a huge mushroom fan so this was such a win for me). <br/><br/>THE LINCOLN PORK BURGER WAS BY FAR THE BIGGEST WINNER. Melt in your mouth pork sandwiched between two fluffy brioche pillows and a crisp refreshing apple slaw. An absolute banger of a dish that I will be back to order time and time again. <br/><br/>The fourth time we went we ordered their Old Lincoln Pork Burger (ONCE AGAIN YUM, YUM AND YUM) and the Scotch Steak sandwich. <br/><br/>I only tried the mushrooms from the steak sandwich, but from the speed my boyfriend ate it I can confirm it was another winner. <br/> <br/>I can also confirm that regardless of what drink you order from Fact Tree, you won’t be let down. My current favourite is their Iced Honey Plum Tea, but I can also vouch for their Banana Milkshake, Banoffee Smoothie and Banana, Avocado And Peanut Butter milkshake. <br/><br/><br/>The staff are extremely friendly, the service is quick and the environment is perfect for brunching and lunching. The Zomato Gold process is also very easy at Fact Tree. <br/><br/>After my third and fourth visits and taking into account the constant level of excellent service provided I would ideally like to give Fact-Tree a 4.5/5.

Perfect family friendly cafe. Love the location of this little cafe, no stress on finding a parking. A nice bonus of a playground nearby for the little ones to play after visit. Decent cafe food for everyone, lots to choose, great portion size. Coffee always great and their smoothie is a must try. One of our fav on the shore!
Jasmine Yang
Eggs Benedict with salmon was superb!!!!! Huge portions yum yum yum! Enough parking on Tuesday afternoon. The girl at the front desk was friendly and know I’m with Zomato Gold at the first glance of my phone screen Lol.

Wonderful experience at this cafe for lunch today! Superb food, presentation & service - could not fault anything. Nice decor & coffees too. We will be back fo sure!

Awesome atmosphere, the place for a perfect date or a friendly get together, with very delicious food! Would suggest trying the prawn and squid salad! ✨🙌🏻

A small cafe in a peaceful neighborhood, the lunch size is quiet big. Was a little busy in Saturday morning. Nice food, nice service. Recommended

Cute little local cafe in the suburbs, gets very busy on the weekend. Service is efficient and quick. I had the shrimp and scallop basil pesto dish off the lunch menu and it was so filling and delicious! 3 or 4 scallops and very generous with the prawns. Also got a blueberry and coconut smoothie but wasn't a big fan, definitely too sweet and didn't enjoy the flavours even though I normally go for them

Sometimes sweet surprises catch you off-guard. This place is one of those treasures. Going in a really wanted corn fritter Benedict. To my surprise they have it and also, it is totally delish!<br/><br/>Great coffee too! ❤️❤️🎉

Excellent place for brunch!<br/><br/>I tried the eggs benedict on hash browns and was very happy with my choice! This place has great food and affordable prices for brunch.<br/>They have a few variations of the eggs benedict to choose from.<br/><br/>They also have a great variety of specialty teas, smoothies, and milk choices for your coffee.
Stephanie Qin
Lovely cafe! We ordered the avocado smash which was very tasty. The prices are very reasonable compared to usual cafe prices and the food was the perfect portion size. The cafe was comfortable (a bit dark) and the coffee had some space for improvement but overall great cafe !
Vicki Ko
Have been here so many times as it is my favourite cafe! I've never had a bad experience here. The food is always well presented and delicious, while also having great portions for a very reasonable price. Their drinks are also very good, whether you order a coffee or a milkshake! The staff are also always friendly and attentative.<br/><br/>

People probably frequent this place to take advantage of the affordable drinks and frequent shots. Food and service was impeccable! Great hole-in-the-wall! Definitely recommend! Great service, compliments to the chef.Great drink prices, welcoming owners, and the food is amazing.
Josh Nufablé
Love this little spot. Definitely worth the drive to the North Shore and would be my number 1 rated breakfast place. The food is always on point and very tasty. Generous portions. The smoothies are worth the visit alone. Highly recommended and very jealous of the locals that live in the area.

We went in with a booking for a party of 10 and although the number reduced to 6, the staff were very accommodating and patient.<br/><br/>I ordered a Pina Colada Smoothie and Sweet Quinoa Corn Fritter w/ Crispy Bacon. The smoothie was delicious and tasted exactly like the cocktail but extra creamy.<br/><br/>The corn fritter was outstanding, with the fritters themselves being different from standard fritters at other cafes. The halloumi did a good job of balancing the saltiness and oil from the bacon. All in all, the flavour combination was perfect and I would not hesitate to order this dish again.<br/><br/>All the meals came with extremely generous portions, thus resulting in some of our party taking it away to finish at home. We had an entertainment book voucher where we were able to get 25% off the whole table which was a great deal.<br/><br/>Would love to come back and try more items that they have to offer.

Fact-Tree is awesome! Found this little gem a couple of months ago and have been coming back ever since. My boyfriend loves the steak sandwich and always requests we go here. Highly recommend! Staff are so kind as well, best café on the shore!

Atmosphere was good, bright and sunny but may get a bit hot in summer, the food was delicious and the cold iced chocolate was very satisfying ☺

Never disappoints <br/>Consistently awesome customer service and great food! <br/>I take business professionals here and never been let down <br/>Shakes were great <br/>Breakfast options are awesome too

Staff are amazing from the moment you walk in, food is always delish and they’re more than willing to accomodate for any dietary requirements. The meals themselves are huge portion sizes and absolutely delish! I take all of my friends here when we meet for brunch👏🏽👏🏽

A nice environment for royal breakfast ~ although I would rate as 4 stars because all breakfast food has egg 🥚in it .... well how about people who don’t like egg? There is no option for breakfast without egg .. Apart from that, it’s all good especially the variety of juices offered, shakes , ext.
Imperius Malekith
I ordered the pork burger and was very impressed, the pork was juicy, the buns were toasted yet not burn, fries were crunchy and not too oily, and the apple coleslaw was much better than the usual coleslaw served with pork. Definitely worth coming back for the food (cabinet food also looked amazing, the customer service and atmosphere was also good - the cafe is in a residential area so is popular with the locals) but the coffee was slightly bitter and diluted, hence not a 5 star review.

came here for lunch the place was packed but a table quickly cleared up we ordered the eggs benefit with housemaid has smashed avocado with Bacon. service and quality wise was very good customer service is very good and they are very polite

The last meal in my birthday weekend celebration and breakfast is on the cards. Cafe came highly recommended so we had to give it a try.<br/><br/>Cafe is tiny, so get there early or book a table or be prepared to wait. We booked and table was there and waiting at 9am when we arrived.<br/><br/>Those who know me, service comes before you have any food, sadly I’m still waiting for the service from Fact-Tree. No greeting when we entered, no greeting when menus were brought to the table. Waited a good while to place an order (and it was still rather empty).<br/><br/>Food arrived after the wrong coffee was delivered. Food looks good and wasn’t bad, only gripe with mine would be seasoning but otherwise ok. Nephews meal looked the best and he certainly enjoyed it.<br/><br/>I won’t go back but if you are in the neighbourhood give it a try, I trust your experience will be a better one.<br/><br/>Food: 70%<br/>Ambience: 70%<br/>Service: 60%<br/>Coffee: 65%

Glad to tried this cafe on a Saturday where it’s not too busy (around 1:30pm). We shared most of the foods we ordered cuz we just had a heavy breakfast prior. Wedges and brownies were my faves but someone told me their frappes are a must but I’ll have to come back to try those next time.
Lily
Best eggs benny I’ve had in a long time was on home made hash brown so delicious 😍😍 and Iced coffee highly recommended decently priced too, good service :) thankyou

This is my favourite brunch cafe. The food is always perfect and portions are decently sized. Every time I've come here the service has been efficient.
Julia Giurgiu
Lovely local cafe with friendly, attentive staff and absolutely delicious food. Huge portions for a great price, so we left very satisfied and keen to return to try other menu items.

This was a lovely little cafe tucked away in Sunnynook. They had a wide delicious selection to pick from. I had the fact tree vegetarian meal (not even vegetarian but it sounded delicious) and was served a meal on a plate larger than my head! It was a plate full of good quality ingredients. I left satisfied, happy and keen to visit again to try their other options! Also tasted the coffee from my partner and it was top notch. Would highly recommend.

I have been curious about Fact-tree cafe for a while and decided to give it a try.<br/><br/>I came on Sauturday morning so it was really busy and the street was fully packed, quite difficult to find parking.<br/><br/>First impression, the cafe looked pretty small from the outside and inside not much different but I thought the decor was pretty simple and nice.<br/><br/>The service was below average for me. The reasons are self-sevice water that has no explanation from staffs. The menu was really old, some of the items were faded away. I could hardly read the items at the end of the menu. I suggested laminate to prevent or print the new one? One of the waitress walked passed and hit the back of my head without even realizing and apologized. Another one just put the menu down without checking if I has placed order or not. The glass door was full of finger prints too.<br/><br/>I ordered Egg benedicts - hash brown with smoked salmon and avocado. It was good, especially the hash brown, super crispy and light. Mocha was really nice. Coffee came out really fast but the food took 40 minutes from the time I placed order. However it was pretty good with big portion.<br/><br/>Overall, quite a few things need to improve but quite happy with the experience and might come back next time.<br/><br/>Ambience: 4/5<br/>Service: 2/5<br/>Food: 4/5<br/>
Anne
Good coffee and nice atmosphere.<br/><br/>However, food was not good as i expected. Well presented but too much pepper on the food and steak was dried.<br/>Anyway, will be back for coffee.
Keets August
Small place that is always very popular, the eggs Benedict is next level, especially with them home made hash browns baby 😍😍😍 each dish is so flavorsome and the smoothies and milkshakes are next level.<br/>Only down side to this place is the time it took for our food to come to our table, it came in drips and drabs and had some of our table waiting for meals whilst others had theirs. Staff are genuinely friendly, still a great place.
Bill Young
Wow, stark contrast to last weeks outing for brunch. The cafe is quite small and no views to mention, the atmosphere and service was only topped by one thing...the food was magnificent, the "fact-tree breakfast" is impressive on all accounts, service was prompt and positive. Highly recommended but you may want to book.

Came here for lunch around 1pm. The place was packed but a table quickly cleared up. We ordered the eggs benefit with house made hash, smashed avocado with bacon and the BLAT. For drinks we had a banana shake, iced tea and iced coffee. <br/>The drinks were great. But by the time the food came we had finished it. The food took quite a while, more than half an hour. <br/>We are unsure if it usually takes this long. <br/>I was really happy with my smashed avocado, there’s nothing really that can go wrong. My fiancée was unhappy with his BLAT because the avocado was only covering 1/4 of his sandwich. The fries were over fried as well or maybe time for an oil change. But they quickly solved the avocado problem when it was bought up. <br/>My friend didn’t really like the house made hash. It was not as densely packed and not fried as well either. <br/>Overall, probably won’t come here again.

Went here this morning for breakfast. Reasonably priced. I got the salmon Benedict, it was to die for! Their frappes are amazing also. My only issue was that my partner went up and ordered a decaf soy mocha frappe and we got a decaf soy flat white. Other than that mistake it was amazing food!
Jane
I love their coffee! every menu is yam. Dishes are big enough as well. They have very cozy atmosphere would recommend to everyone if u r brunch lover. <br/>Me and my bf go there quite frequently and we haven’t been disappointed .
Selina Y
Great hidden little gem in Sunnynook. Everything is to die for and beautifully presented. It is super busy so try to book before you go. Great service for such a busy little place.
Reina Alani
Good food, good value for money but hygiene is debatable. We saw an insect once on the table (some kind of roach) and the waiter/manager just knocked it on the ground and left it there for others to trample on it, yuck!! But I’d still come back because I love the smashed avo with macadamia and their french toast is to die for!
Jenny Kim
Went at around 1pm last week with a friend, and ordered 2 wedges. It took approx 35-40 minutes for the wedges to come & it wasn’t even that busy. <br/>The food was average, probably won’t return due to poor service..
Ayla.bradshaw3
Me and my friend come here every time we want to get lunch together. Everything I've tried off the menu has been delicious and is plated beautifully. The cakes in the cabinet are all yummy and fresh as well. Service is so good and staff are always accommodating when it comes to modifying a dish. Don't think I'll ever stop coming here. The open chicken sandwich is a must try!
Asrin Hussein
My local & favourite go to spot for the best coffee & brekky! <br/>Friendly staff and great environment. Instagram worthy food too 😉<br/>Easy parking on site.
Caitlin
The food here is ALWAYS amazing, the coffee is great and there’s so many healthy options for everyone. I always get the vegetarian big breakfast or the avo on toast. I think it’s great value for money, super inexpensive and the staff are lovely and friendly. You get your food super fast and I would totally recommend. <br/>Ps sorry for selfie I realised I deleted my other pics by accident but love this cafe and wanted to share lol.
S2Psycho
Been here quite alot for brunch, food here is just beautiful, affordable, tasty, and just so satifying. Just really like going here, but.. gave it a 4 cause coffee is not always constant but still drinkable! Customer service is very good and they are very polite.
Kishore Mitra
3 minutes from my house and I go past this place every morning. I never see this place empty. its packed most of the time which is very strange as its in one of the most non-descript locations possible! The food is pure cafe style food and is very good. Not exactly cheap though ....but shouldnt be a deal breaker. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a good cafe to dine in.
Tanz Hoeta
Visited Fact-Tree Cafe last year and it has become my go to local cafe. Arguably the best Eggs Benny on the Shore, awesome menu, friendly staff, tastiest almond flat white and the menu is very reasonably priced.
Waiwera
(Just before Christmas.) <br/>Lovely experience here. Coffee was nice and hot (a double shot is actually a double shot here!) I was given a free brownie due to them closing for several days. I thought that was very nice of them as many people would just take them home themselves. Staff where friendly and welcoming
Dael Mckimmie
These guys always serve up awesome brunch and make wicked good coffee. They are always packed, especially on the weekends so that's saying something. Give em a whirl
Shannon
Really excellent food and great service, I've been numerous times. However, the past two times I've visited there were a lot of flies in the cafe which really spoiled the experience 😔

Located in a local commercial block in Sunnynook, Fact-Tree Cafe refuses to be another shop that no one visits - a great cafe can be in the neighbourhood after all.<br/>Mid-century decor, gorgeous coffee, and breakfast that exceeds the expectations is all it takes to attract the early birds into Sunnynook.<br/>To take it to 4.5 it just needs some more bread varieties (sourdough, ciabatta, Turkish bread), remove the water jar that puts rust in your glass (the bottles are beautiful why bother with the jar), and maybe some pleasing tunes.<br/>I would visit this cafe again regardless of the minor travel.<br/><br/>After about 5 visits: best scrambled eggs in town.
Aman
Hands down my favourite cafe in Auckland the food is always amazing and fresh and the building is alway clean the food always has a lot of flavour at there milkshakes have got to be one of the best in town.
Simone
amazing breakfast and good service! The vibe was also really good as there were a lot of people there. Will definitely be visiting again soon
Michael Johnson
Their big breakfast was awesome, the mix of meat and veg were just right, and that’s why I go there once a month at least, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

All the way from Parnell and we were so impressed .<br/>Ordered an open chicken sandwich and a seafood salad and a cup of cuppaccino . <br/>The coffee was superb .<br/>The chicken tasted so well marinated n crunchy .<br/>Seafood was delicious n the slightly creamy sauce was good .<br/>Gordon the waiter was marvellous . Engaging and friendly .<br/>The cafe appeared well organised .<br/>Highly recommended . <br/>

The food is so good, one of the best eggs bene I have ever eaten ! And the French toast is so yummy!<br/>The staff is so polite and friendly. This is one of my favorite cafe. <br/>
Monica Trib
Loved the food and drinks there! It's definitely making one of my favourite cafes on the shore. <br/>I had the steak sandwich. Steak was cooked to perfection. It came with 2 ciabatta toasts (YAASS) some portobello mushrooms and salad, the bread was soaked in the mushroom sauce and it made me feel like I went to heaven with every bite. The fish also came with the crunchiest chips and a shot of Aoli. <br/><br/>my friend had the hotcakes. She said it was so flavorful and massive but one of the best hotcakes she's ever had. <br/><br/>We'll definitely come back with more people because everyone should try this place.
Bambi
Been here couple of times now. Hope they can work on their coffee to stay consistent. Had great coffee from them on some days then just bland coffee on other days. Price is reasonable and flavours are not too bad.
Jen Lin
Arrived around peak lunch time (12.30pm-ish) and the wee little cafe was PACKED, so were given menus while waiting for a table. <br/><br/>Food: Unfortunately our first option of the Eggs Benedicts were sold out, so opted for the 'Fact-tree Breakfast' (5/5). Well presented with a generous portion size and yum! Their 'Yoghurt Berry Smoothie' was a perfect balance of tartness, creaminess and sweetness (5/5) :) <br/><br/>Service: Great customer service by all staff<br/><br/>Ambience: Loved it. From the modern decor on the walls to pots of plants on shelves and hanging from ceiling. Made the cafe feel very clean and alive. <br/><br/>Price: Very very reasonable!!<br/><br/>Will most definitely be back then try the eggs benny on their infamous HASH CAKES! Nomnom
Destiny Mackay
They make coffee that touches your soul and their menu is to die for. Such a cute little tucked away cafe which is nice being away from noise. Love the organic/rustic theme going on inside too.
Daniel Teddy
One of the best little cafés you'll find here in Auckland. A not so hidden Gem. Great food, great customer service. Have been here a number of times and is a go-to spot for me now!
Feiran An
Went there for lunch at 1:30pm on Wednesday by myself. I was amazed by packed with people because this area just is residential area and don't usually have lots of people. I order one latte and bacon Benedict. The coffee is one of the best I had - fresh, right forth, milk and temperature. The meal is just average. The base (like homemade hash or rosti) taste average. <br/><br/>Service is not as good as I thought. This cafe should improve the service and the staff should more friendly and smile toward the customer.
Katharina Battenhausen
My favourite spot on the Shore. Not perfect, but consistently good. I can recommend the French Toast and the Eggs Benedict. Coffee is quite good, too - especially Long Black. It can get a little loud in this place, and it's usually a bit chilly.
Abbas Al-Murrani
There are two sides to every coin. This LAD is typically associated with negative yet honest feedback. However. ..today was a different day. Did I know that I would be blessed enough to have such a positive experience? No ..nobody would expect the amazing food and service at this place. Other locations take note - if you want to know what delicious food at a reasonable price looks and tastes like - get over here ASAP rocky.

Food is super good and there smoothies are soooo delicious! Not too sure if they are 'healthy' but hey treat your self!! Nicely decorated and very kind service 🍴 Pictured below is the yoghurt berry smoothie, banana and strawberry smoothie, smashed avo on toast with poached egg and fries with aioli!

The BEST. CAFE. EVERRR. This is always the place I go with my family for brunch/lunch and although sometimes we try other places, this is our favourite.
Kathlyn Anne
Fact-Tree is my go to place whenever I'm in need of some mood boosters. There eggs benedict is to die for! I've tried a number of eggs benedict and nothing has topped theirs. Their milshakes are pretty good as well.

Came here today at 12.45 pm and was stoked to see empty tables (having read from other reviews that the cafe can get very busy on weekends). However, we didn't expect a 30 minute wait between our coffee and mains. We should have known better when the diners beside us asked for their orders to be checked.<br/><br/>To be fair, the young lady who helped check our orders was apologetic after we had told her that the later table had their food served before us. As we were seated near to the counter, my bf was able to observe the staff and guessed that our order was missed out. I accept that things like that do happen from time to time but when your coffee has gone cold and you are starving from a long wait, food quality and service are the only saving grace.<br/><br/>While our spaghetti and pancakes were nice, they didn't wow us. And they were most certainly not worth the long wait. Not only was the food service slow, the only common water dispenser was dispensing a slow stream of water. One diner even cursed and said it would take him forever to fill up a cup. I didn't fancy the lemon water myself as it had a very stale, unpleasant taste, akin to that of a dishwashing liquid.<br/><br/>After paying, I asked the older male staff (whose name is Gordon I think) if a 30 minute wait is normal. He said that it is normal for weekends but they are fine on weekdays. He further added on that I could see for myself how busy they were. When I told him that our order came after the later table, he brushed it aside and said that they do things step by step. We were expecting at least an apology.<br/><br/>With many other conveniently located cafes in north shore that provide faster service and better food, fact-tree needs to step up its game. I reckon takeaway coffee and cabinet food (such as scones, muffins and cakes) would be your best bet if you're not prepared to wait for more than 30 minutes.

Fact-Tree Café is a hidden gem and never disappoints me with their pretty decor and amazing service. The staff are super friendly and we don't have to wait long for delicious, well-plated food ^_^ Definitely recommend this café and making reservations as it gets busy in the weekends~
Jay
This small cafe on tonikin road is very busy crowded with local residents. I think it's especially busy as tonikin road is a short cut way for sunnynook residents to travel between home and further north areas such as Albany. Also it's right next to kindergarten and primary school so it seems like a meeting and waiting for kids spot for mothers. <br/><br/>I have tried their cabinet foods which are all nice and tried this big breakfast today. I was a little disappointed that it did not have hash brown but it was good overall. Sausage, mushrooms and spinach were the best on this dish. Coffee tastes good too. I love their black coffee. It's not too sour nor bitter. <br/><br/>Staff are very kind and serving customers promptly.
Olivia Small
Great eggs benedict with house made hash brown cooked to perfection! Got chocolate is great too. Decent pricing with great friendly staff and fast service
Meghan
Been there twice. First time went for a mocha and my daughter got a kids hot chocolate. The coffee was great. My daughter loved her hot chocolate with added sprinkles on top.<br/>Second time i went i got a spearmint milkshake and my son got a chocolate milkshake. The chocolate milkshake tasted good. Spearmint usually has a very strong minty taste and that was what i was expecting when i ordered a spearmint milkshake. The spearmint milkshake was barely minty at all though.<br/>Would go again for a coffee, just not the milkshakes.
Debbie McMillan
Such an incredible hidden gem! I didn't expect much going in but I was blown away .... the bagels are the best ever. Service was friendly and very efficient
Jess
Super yummy and delicious and oh so very filling! Also probably one of the most instgramable cafes ever haha! Really good service even when super busy would very highly recommend!
Justin Bieber
Likeable place.<br/>An adorable little corner cafe. Perfect for Instagram feeds. However, if you want a runny egg boomerang aesthetic then this is not the place for you. The eggs ran but the yolks were too slow for this highly competitive race that is to beat the Instagram boomerang clock. <br/><br/>Instagram is a neat app though 5/5 would recommend.
Lisa Zhao
We went there before 11 it was busy already. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee, it wasn't very authentic. however, food is really good. We ordered the Bacon omelette and salmon eggs bene, both food came beautifully. The hash brown tastes like home made, which brings the whole plate to the next level!! The size of the bacon omelette is big and again very tasty. The interior of the place is nice, i would recommend to sit outdoor if it's a nice day, the inside gets very busy around lunch time and the smell of food from the kitchen can get a bit strong. However we both enjoyed our brunch there and will definitely go back!
Melanie Wang
I've been dying to visit this place for ages. So when I had a day off work on a Sunday morning, my boyfriend and I decided to take a little trip to this place. It's quite busy on a Sunday morning, most tables were filled, however the staff were very efficient. We both ordered the Fact-Tree Breakfast, me being me thought that I could finish it all. Didn't exactly happen though. The portions were quite decent, and I especially enjoyed the hashbrown. However the "creamy spinach" could use a bit more flavouring, it tasted like it was just spinach tossed in cream and no spices were bothered to add. But with all the hype around this cafe, the iced chocolate definitely did not disappoint!(Too bad I couldn't get a photo before he devoured it all)

Fantastic menu with sooo much to choose se from for Brunch or Lunch. <br/><br/>Coffee menu extensive. Great coffee!<br/><br/>Service was efficient and friendly. This place is a hidden gem in Sunnynook. <br/><br/>Food was great with large servings. <br/><br/>Well worth a visit!!

I’ve enjoyed my two visits to this local Sunnynook café. It can get quite busy on Saturday mornings for brunch, but it’s worth going for the friendly service and their reasonably-priced range of food and drink. <br/><br/>On my last visit, I had the avocado smash on sourdough with a side of bacon. This was nice, but the only thing that was truly special about this was the use of macadamia nuts in the avocado. <br/><br/>My flat white was also pretty good; it was beautifully presented and foamy. Next time, I’d like to try one of their milk shakes.

Love this place! Have been here twice and both times have ordered the French toast, which upon my request was made gluten free for me. Strawberry tea was so lush, a great place to spend your money.

Great food and the coffees are amazing. So happy to have found this hidden treasure. <br/><br/>I had the French toast and my wife had the smashed avocado. The kid had BLAT. All excellent.

Pretty decent cafe, it's located in the residential area, plenty of parking around. The cafe itself is decorated nicely and the staffs are friendly and attentive. We came on a saturday afternoon for lunch and ordered the eggs benedict with smoked salmon and avocado, the fact-tree breakfast and the iced chocolate. Portions are good and the food is okay, just need a little bit more seasoning as I found them quite bland, but the only downside is we waited way too long for the food to come out, and when you have waited for 40 minutes for food, your expectations is quite high. Overall, it's quite a good cafe, just come when it's not too busy.
Michelle S
I came here for brunch with my friend because of the hype around this little north shore cafe. The service was decent, not too attentive but was friendly when making your order. Fact-Tree also gets very packed and has very limited seating so don't be too shocked if you're turned away or have to wait a long time to be served. We came here and ended up having to take away because the wait time was just too long. Food is pretty decent and would recommend coming during quieter times

Went here with a friend for a beautiful weekday brunch. The location is perfect, in the middle of a residential area, not too much people, and the anbience is pretty chill. It's a good place for catch ups over good food. I had the lemon and kiwifruit smoothie and the prawn and scallop soup. My friend had coffee frappe and the big breakfast. My smoothie was pretty average, a little sweet for my liking but my friend loved her coffee frappe. The prawn and scallop soup was amazing!! Very well seasoned and the seafood was cooked perfectly. Wasnt able to try the big breakfast myself but my friend said it was good too. Will come again next time! I'm keen to try the different shakes and smoothies and also some good stuff from their breakfast menu. :)
Mercy
food n smoothi always superb.<br/>i never tried coffee there but i was amazed at swan n five rosetta? tulip?. this asian guy was making two cup of coffees while i was paying for my table.<br/>it was my first time watching someone drawing things like that. i was shocked i yelled out "shit look at that peter"<br/>to my boyfriend nxt to me.<br/>when the weather cools down im going to try his coffee!!

Met friends for brunch this morning. Been here a lot over the years. Wow didn't disappoint today. My hubby and I had the eggs benedict with salmon and avocado. Delicious!!! My girlfriend had the toasted muesli with fresh fruit and berry compote. Delicious!! And her hubby had bacon eggs and fresh bread. Yum! Their smoothies are fantastic. Really tasteful. We had the tropical and banana with almond. Great!! Service really fast and friendly. Will be going back again soon!!

If we didn't have to wait 45min for our breakfast it would have been a solid 4-4.5<br/><br/>I think being parents timing is everything. <br/><br/>We waited 10-15min for our coffee which was delish- the milk steamed perfectly resulting in a creamy hot cup of wake-me-up.<br/><br/>We got master 11months a side of scrambled egg which was huge and a side of sausage which was so darn tasty (it was pork and fennel, it had a great texture which leads me to believe they either make it in house or know an awesome butcher) <br/><br/>Eggs bennie with bacon spinach on a potato rosti was right up there in flavour- the rosti was made fresh and were crunchy- not gluey at all- the eggs were a tad over cooked but still a tasty plate of food.<br/><br/>The slices in the counter looked yum and massive for the price- if it wasn't on the other side of Auckland to where we live we would go back...
Angel
Love the food here! Been here a few times now and has been consistently good, the last time I went I waited a hour for my food to come out so probably wouldn't rush back because of this
Aroha
I love this place! Best eggs benedict in town! Love the ice chocolates. Great service whenever I go there and delightful decor. I would definitely recommend going there if you want a decent breakfast. The food is worth the price.

Went here the other day with my friend for lunch and boy was it good! The cafe itself is a cute little place off the main road so you have to look for it! <br/><br/>We walked in and were greeted by a friendly waitress who organized menus and water for us. I ordered an orange juice and my friend their lemon tea! To eat we both got the BLAT.<br/><br/>The food was delicious though a little hard to eat due to the size of it! Fresh ingredients though which is always a plus. <br/><br/>We had a couple of hick ups but the experience was still very good!<br/><br/>I will definitely be back if I am in the neighborhood! To get a 5/5 the service needs to be slightly faster and food delivered to the right table.
Jessica
This place is great, lots of options to choose from depending on what you feel like on the day. Sometimes when you go to place with lots of options some can't taste as nice but I've been here heaps of time and ordered many items from the menu and it all is nice. Not a small place, so not many options to sit so you'll be lucky to get a seat. Service is fine but you mainly go for the food. Love the iced chocolate. Comes with a cute fun fact on the cup which adds a cute signature touch due to the place obviously being 'fact tree'. Would recommended to anyone who wants a decently priced breakfast meal in a local North Shore area.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G<br/>Always great fresh food and fantastic coffee. Thank goodness for a brilliant cafe tucked away in Sunnynook. It will continue to bring my friends and family here ❤️

This cafe used to be the hype in the high school days, because they served milkshakes in jars. Now im not so sure if this cafe is still overrated for putting a beverage in a different kind of glass. I don't remember the first time coming here but I do remember ordering a lime milkshake. It was so gross and too sweet. I think the only good things I know of are the chocolate milkshakes but that's about it. I remember coming here with friends and I ordered a fruit salad. Presentation was very pretty and I enjoyed sitting down and eating it, what really got me was I ordered a summer iced tea and oh my god. It looked like they mashed up all this fruit and left it in the fridge for a week because when I visualise summer iced tea I do not see dark greenish murky sweetened iced tea with small bits in it. That is what I got. I wouldn't come back here again by my own will, but if a friend wanted to come here to eat I wouldn't mind tagging along 🙇🏻
Bec
Probably one of my favourite cafes in the North Shore, quite hard to find, but such a gem! The smoothies here are amazing and totally worth the money.  For a really small place, the decor is still nice and cozy. The food and service is also great, everything was really tasty and presented nicely. The portion sizes are perfect, and everything is worth every cent!
Michael
Having recently moved offices to Rosedale, I've been systematically working my way through the local(ish) lunch options. Fact-Tree almost didn't make the list because it's a little bit out of my way, but it did not disappoint.<br/><br/>I had the Fact-Tree breakfast (not exactly a foodie choice but I was feeling a bit nostalgic). The staff were great, pointing out the components with dairy and suggesting alternatives. This dish definitely hit the spot, good quality ingredients makes a huge difference for a big breakfast style dish and Fact-Tree was on point.<br/><br/>The supreme coffee was pretty good too.<br/> <br/>Overall 4/5

Quite a busy place specially given the low-profile location (blended/hidden in the neighborhood). Love their milk shakes, rich and yummy. Food is good while service is a bit average if not below.

YES! SO MUCH YES! In the least expected area; think suburbia! This cafe is definately one of my favourites. The decour is hip, not to even mention the extremely delicious food and drinks! Pesto eggs bene? Yes please.

Dined here with my partner for brunch. It was a typical winters day in Auckland, cold and rainy. The decor in this place is nice, however it is very cold on a winters day with no heating and the door wide open. The staff however were very accommodating and closed the door when another diner requested it. I had an iced mocha which was huge & very enjoyable. I also love the way they present their frapes in jars with a little fact attached. My partner had a flat white which he also enjoyed. For food I had the wedges with bacon and sour cream & my partner had the fact tree breakfast. The wait time was reasonable for food & the portions again were huge I couldn't even eat half my dish. The wedges themselves were good but the bacon was a little burnt which kind of spoilt the dish a little for me. The presentation was super cute & overall I left full & satisfied with my meal. My partner also enjoyed his breakfast, so much so I couldn't even get a photo before he tucked in.

Love this cafe ! One of my favorites, lovely service , food , atmosphere & decor :) two thumbs up for sure.<br/>Make sure to book a table on weekends though

Ordered a White chocolate frappuccino takeaway, as I was just passing through with this hidden gem, Well its the best White Chocolate Frappuccino I have tasted, sorry starbucks you are now 2nd best.<br/>Saw some of the customers meals, and they looked crazy good, need to come out in the weekend and tried some of their amazing menu.
Kiky Eng
The drinks are yum and great but wait for so long for the food and it's not tasty. There were lot of people and we wait for the seats for around 10 mins that's reasonable. Then we ordered drinks and food at the same time, drinks come fast but we've been waiting for the food nearly 45 mins
Sarah Jack
My sister found out about this gem of a cafe this week. Came here today with my mum and had the scallops and prawns and a sweet chai latte. Was absolutely delicious *.* Will happily come back with my friends and boyfriend

A little cafe gem in Sunnynook. If it weren't for the Entertainment Book, I would not have noticed there is a cafe within a residential houses. Their shakes and smoothies ($8) are the bomb! Worth every sip of it. The breakfast presented nicely and taste good too, we ordered eggs benedict with crispy bacon ($17), and their big breakfast ($18). Food came fast, service was super friendly and price is the usual cafe price that you would expect to pay, not overpriced.

Taste and the overall atmosphere were good. However, the service was slow even though there were not many occupied tables. And my fries were never served.. They still charged me $6 for fries, so I had to ask them to amend the bill.

Visited on Mother's Day morning and even though they were very busy it was dealt with well.<br/>Yummy, Well presented food and drink. Friendly and well organised staff. Will certainly be returning soon!

This place is an absolute gem. Visited for a Mother's Day brunch, it was packed with tables quickly being reseated, but the service and quality of the food did not drop at all. Coffees were artistically presented and perfectly made. I had the Fact-Tree breakfast, which was great value. Everything worked well together and for the price many competitors would include 'store bought' items, not here though. The rest of our meals were above par too, and saw plenty of other meals I'd like to try as well, will definitely be back soon!
Thegreeats
I didn't order any food apart from coffee and cake<br/>But from lurking over at the tables the food did look delicious and I'll come back to try some! (The wedges looked very hearty I regret being too full to order some)<br/>I loved the chill ambience and the cute interior -esp their little fact notes which is where their name comes from.<br/>Their coffee was really good but the carrot cake seemed very stale and old :'(<br/>I'd recommend ordering food from the menu and not from their cabinet!<br/>Friendly service :)<br/><br/>Came back for proper food!<br/>Ordered their famous eggs bene and my bf got their big breakfast<br/>Nice presentation and hearty portions <br/>Will definitely come back!<br/>Coffees are on the sour/acidic side but the ice mocha was top notch

This is the second time i visit this cafe. Small, great atmosphere and delicious menu! I came with two of my mates. We ordered avocado smash, open steak sandwich and chicken sandwich! Enjoyed it very very much! Everything was very yummy. Well worth the price you pay!
Louise
Came here as it's a friend's favourite brunch cafe for eggs bene. They cldnt do eggs bene today. Quite a wait for food 25 min+ & not busy when we got there. I realised they'd forgotten my order when the other 3 were tucking into their French toast - which they all loved. I changed my order to something in the cabinet & waited another 10min. Just sorry was said. Would have expected at least a free coffee. Iced tea was nice.

Best place to have brunch! Drinks are always amazing. Best mocha frappe in Auckland! Food always looks great and delicious. Definite gem in Shore.

What more can you want? <br/>Such a beautiful set up, great friendly service and the food is so beautifully presented and taste delicious. This cafe is vibrant and really worth every calorie. <br/>I will recommend this cafe to anyone :)

Great brunchspot! We left very happy and satisfied. The potato hashcakes were just delicious, coffees are impressive and the pancake was thick and fluffy.

One of the better cafe on the shore.<br/><br/>Chocolate milkshakes +fact tree breakfast  = perfect!<br/><br/>Another option is the iced mocha plus steak sandwhich combination. <br/><br/>Can be a bit busy on the weekends.. <br/> <br/><br/>Don't forget to Hit LIKE or Comment if this review was of any help. Love this cafe!!!<br/>It's glad to have this lovely cafe in Sunnynook.<br/>Nice presentation, fresh food, new idea and nice drink. We tried avocado mash on sourdough, it comes with macadamia nut, lemon juice, olive oil and poached egg. Nice choice for light food. Caesar salad is not the same as other place, there's chili on it and make it more flavor. Drink is good, I like iced chocolate frapes.

Excellent coffee, lovely friendly staff. Meals are delicious and large to boot. Light bright breezy decor. Definite gem of a cafe in that area and one I always visit when I'm in the hood.

■ Good presentation<br/>■ Friendly staff<br/>■ Creative interior<br/>■ Great Food<br/><br/>■ Short on seats when busy<br/>■ Portions average<br/><br/>Im pretty sure this is where my love for brunches and cafe hopping began!! Such an adorable little parlour and the menu's are really nicely done with a DIY touch to give a homely and warm feel. We usually get the eggs benedict coz the guys here do it so well!! The food's presented beautifully with portions being reasonably sized. One thing Fact-Tree's popular for are their iced Frappe range. When we arrived, there was a bit of a wait since it was a busy sunday but probably coz their brunch menu is pretty popular! Nice way to spend a morning or afternoon catching up with friends!

What a little hidden gem! Came from central Auckland for some work and found this spot for brunch. It's actually better than a few other popular cafes over the bridge. <br/>Banana almond smoothie was amazing. Eggs benedict like everyone else says is the best. Wife had the mushrooms which were very nice also. <br/>Keep up the great work. Will definitely be back!!
Louise MacNaughton
What a pleasant suprise! <br/><br/>We ordered the iced coffee, cream cheese bagel and bacon eggs benedict. <br/><br/>Everything was delicious! I can't really fault either of our meals to be honest. I wish I had got the eggs benedict though, those hash cakes were amazing. <br/><br/>The iced coffee was slightly bitter but that was a plus for me, it was so good and felt like a real coffee.<br/><br/>This cafe is located in a strange place, so makes it hard to decide whether I would come back, but probably will for that potato hehe.

Took my little cousin here as she'd been and said the milkshakes were good. Had brunch and got the avocado smash with poached egg, nuts, olive oil, tomato on ciabatta for only $12. My cousin had the organic muesli which came with a huge side of fresh fruit. We shared a lemon tart and she got her chocolate milkshake! Service was amazing and the food was incredible! Great little cafe in sunnynook will definitely be back! Cheap as too!
Realistic Reviews
Fact-Tree Cafe is a small, high end & boutique cafe located in suburban Sunnynook. The cafe is set with a minimalist, modern interior and has a fresh ambiance. The food follows suit. <br/><br/>Service: 8/10 <br/>- Our visits to Fact-Tree have typically been enjoyed with fast, efficient & attentive service. Only once has an order been incorrectly placed, though this could have been a communication issue on our part.<br/><br/>Food: 10/10<br/>- Food is in our opinion the best available in its price bracket Auckland wide. Fresh, innovative and consistently of high quality and presentation. Would recommend either Pancakes or a Benedict.<br/><br/>Coffee: 6/10<br/>- Coffee served is Eightthirty. Extremely bitter/sour. Made up by a clearly experienced team of baristas, as other drinks (iced coffee etc) are made to a high standard. Would recommend changing coffee brand. <br/><br/>Final comment: 8/10<br/>- Considering factors such as price range and value, Fact-Tree is the best Cafe available in Auckland in our opinion; we frequently make the trip from South to the North Shore for it.

Food: Food was very lovely, I had the open chicken sandwich and they had nice refreshing drinks. My group (5 people) that went together all really enjoyed their food and drinks. Have also had the cabinet food before and that didnt disappoint either. <br/><br/>Price: Price of food and drinks are reasonable.Worth your money :)<br/><br/>Service: Service was bland. Waiters would just get your order and give you your food. You have to get your own water at the front of the cafe. Cafe gets really busy so head in early or don't go at all, waiters aren't much help as they have no waiting list and they don't take bookings. <br/><br/>Atmosphere: Cafe is located in a suburb area where there aren't any other cafes and shops around, every time i have been it is has been very busy cafe so as said before go early or don't go at all.  The place is quite small and seating is difficult. There were 5 of us crowded around a small table and waiters were not much help in seating us and had to sort out the seating ourselves. Waiters were not very fluent in English and just sort of stood there and watched which was very frustrating.<br/><br/>Overall: Great food at a reasonable price highly recommend for food. A shame that service was not very good and majority of the tables at the cafe were very small (there as one bag table but it was shared between smaller groups) Very bad seating arrangements. Ive said it before and ill say it again, go there early or don't go at all.

Was recommended to have the eggs benny and found out exactly why! Delicious food and great milkshakes. We almost turned away with an estimated 40min wait which was cut down to 5mins and glad about it.

We went out for a lazy breakfast this morning and what a fantastic breakfast it was! We had the salmon benny on the gorgeously crispy homemade hash and the salmon bagel delicious topped of with their amazing coffee. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu everything we saw come out looked scrumptious!

Such a great little place! Super close to my house but had no idea it was there until recently. Me and my boyfriend went around 11ish in the morning, wasn't too busy seeing as it was a week day so we were sat right away. The menu is very extensive and has a wide range of options, we chose the vegetarian bagel stack, the blueberry pancakes and a fruit platter to share. We also got a ice mocha and a flat white which came out nearly straight away, the ice mocha was amazing probably one of the best I've ever had. Food didn't take long at all, and the portion sizes were quite large especially for the price, everything tasted really good only downside was that my bagel was a bit hard to cut. Our three meals and two drinks all together costed $55 which is what you would usually pay for 2 meals, which is a massive plus. Staff were friendly and service was good, overall would definitely recommend to friends and will be coming back again myself to try more of the menu!

Went there not expecting much and walked out saying wow! Everything about Fact Tree was cute and original (from the decor to the food)! Staff were super nice and helpful and service was prompt! Both my partner and I loved it and we will be returning!

The iced chocolate is the best!! :D It's a must try! I always order it whenever I go there! I love it! The wedges were average, fries is the better option for sides. The beef burger was delicious :)
Juanine
Had breakfast here this morning with my husband after a recommendation from a friend. We were definitely not disappointed. The eggs Benedict with bacon and spinach were one of the best I've had. The Fact-Tree breakfast was very yummy and the sausage was delicious. The staff are friendly and service was good. We will be back!

The range of choice for this cafe is amazing. We went as a big group and everyone was happy with what they ordered. Extremely busy so try to get in early.

I been there before was so good with everyting, and then 1 week ago i went there with my best friend from overseas (i want to gave them good breakfast)but by the time the food coming out late and cold and overcook and tasty not like before, and also coffee changed as well. (I think chef and owner been changed), because they dont have patient to serves. i won't be turn back again.
Vanessa Briana-Anderson
Cool atmosphere and friendly staff. Food pretty average. Fries came out cold and chicken over cooked. My sons meal came out 15 minutes after mine which by this time I had finished and he didn't want to stay any longer so ended up wrapping his food to go. Milkshakes were ok. Wouldn't go back.
Jon Pickford
A favourite brunch location in my family. Nice meals, awesome smoothies. Not a fan of the seating, but a good vibe and great eating here. Highly recommended.
Mara Andrea Martinez
Hands down one of my favourite cafes on the shore. I've been lucky enough to have been seated immediately every time I dine here despite how busy they get. The serving size are well worth the prices on their menu. My favourite would have to be their eggs Benedict. No one does hashbrown stacks quite like Fact-Tree. Always going to keep coming back for it. Their coffees are nice and smooth too. Haven't had a bad coffee from these guys, ever.
Kate
Heard about how great this cafe was from friends and was not let down at all when going there for breakfast a few weeks ago. The food was amazing, high quality and reasonable. I had the french toast which was very tasty and fulling, I would highly recommend this dish. I also had a mango smoothie, which was delightful and sweet. Staff were very friendly and attentive. This hidden cafe is defiantly a treat. I will be visiting again soon!

We got a bit lost trying to find this place but I'm very glad we did, coffee was excellent and the eggs Benedict I had reeally hit the spot. There was a lot on the breakfast menu that I'd like to try, it all looks delish! Clearly others have caught on, it was super busy. Must go back soon...armed with GPS.<br/>Sarah Forsyth #g4

Very good service, nice little set up, food presentation is beautiful, good selection of slices, rolls etc. In the cabinet if you don't order from the menu. I tried the eggs bene with crispy bacon rashers on hash cakes and it was fantastic (the hash cake was a little over done) but it wouldn't stop me going. Parking maybe an issue depending on surrounding shops but I would definitely recommended to others.

My favourite little cafe for breakfast or brunch!!<br/><br/>I must admit I'm not so much a fan of the eggs benedict served on hasbrowns (i like my eggs benny with toast or english muffins) as I find the hollandaise a little too sweet/lemony for my liking. I also didnt like the blueberry pancakes - too thick for my liking it was honestly like eating a large cake. <br/><br/>However - the milkshakes are absolutely amazing my favourite milkshakes ever! I now always order the chocolate milkshake and eggs on toast with avocado and bacon... yum yum!!!

A hidden gem tucked away in sunnynook. Great food and exceptional smoothies (especially the banana, avocado and peanut butter one) and very reasonably priced. One of my favourites north of the bridge.
Jessica Teasdale
Fact-tree is one of my favourite places on the shore! The presentation is always so amazing, the staff super friendly and quick, and the food always consistent! <br/><br/>Their iced chocolates are a must. Literally the best iced chocolates ever. I've been here so many times and the food never disappoints! I had the French toast first time I came which was soooo good. <br/><br/>The banana date and almond smoothie is also so good!!! Cannot stress that enough<br/><br/>The smashed avocado is also AMAZING!!! Has chunks of macadamia nuts throughout the avo which is such a nice touch and compliments the avocado so well!! I always return to fact-tree. I know no matter what I order it'll be delicious!
Tanya Kerr
A great place for brekkie on the shore. Love their Banana/date/almond smoothie and order it every time. The service is good and i'd definitely come back here again.
Priscilla Khang
Came here last week. This cafe is superb, tucked away in a quiet spot. The environment is nice and modern. Very relaxing spot with good vibes. I got the Moroccan Lamb salad, was pretty good however the lamb was definitely a bit too salty for my liking. Other than that, the my banana, date and almond smoothie was excellent.
Clint Jacka
Seating arrangement not great..again table wobbly, ordered big breakfast..sausage wasn't pleasant couldn't eat it..not a fan of spinach either, eggs were poached in to much vinegar, tasted sour and weird. Again expensive for what you get
Michelle
First time visiting this place <br/>And it was amazing !! It's a nice little cafe when not busy <br/>Food is just as good and will definitely be back :)
Lawrence Lun
Very good cafe, highly standard service quality and amazing food presentation. The patterns of our coffee were very pretty, it obviously indicated the barista passion. However, the taste of our coffee did not meet my expectation as I know what EIGHTIRTY beans taste like. Suggest to adjust the grinder regularly and avoid reheat the milk from the last order that will fully present the taste of EIGHTIRTY.
Maddie
Favourite cafe on the North Shore! The coffee is always good, the smoothies are delicious and everything is very reasonably priced, especially seeing as you get quite a decent amount of food! The staff are always very friendly and the setting lovely. Would definitely recommend

Quite a busy cafe - best to book a table to enjoy your meal and coffee. <br/><br/>They did our coffee well. It was just the right temp.<br/><br/>The servings were just right - I had the Fact-Tree breakfast, the wife had the Corn Fritters, our daughter had the Blueberry pancakes and our son had the Kids' Pasta.<br/><br/>The Fact-Tree breakfast was packed with flavour and generous amounts of meat - true value for money.<br/><br/>The Corn Fritters were beautifully done. They weren't stodgy or dry. Again, packed with flavour. <br/><br/>The big surprise for us was the Blueberry pancakes - it was a huge serving. Great combination of sweet and savoury! <br/><br/>The Kids' Pasta was very rich which our little boy enjoyed.<br/><br/>The dishes were presented well and not just 'plopped' onto a plate.<br/><br/>I could say it's the North Shore's best kept secret, tucked away in Sunnynook.<br/><br/>Kudos to the Fact-Tree team!

Fact-Tree is one of my favourite cafes to eat at in the North Shore! Considering that I have driven all the way from West Auckland for this cafe on numerous occasions... It is so worth the drive down! <br/><br/>We came here for a friend's birthday brunch! I have been here multiple times before though and I know how amazing the iced drinks and the smoothies are! I feel like Fact-Tree was the first cafe I ever went to that incorporated jars into their menu??!? It was because of this that made me go through a "putting-all-my-smoothies-into-a-jar" phase at home!!! I also love the cute interior! Their menu is written on large scrolls that hang from one wall. They also have cute little facts attached to most things inside the cafe! Cold drinks all come with a fact tied around the rim of the jars, and most of these are pretty interesting facts as well! I love the entire concept behind this cafe so much.<br/><br/>This time I ordered the Thai beef salad. It came with crispy noodles on top and my beef was cooked perfectly to what I wanted! It wasn't too chewy and the sauce (I can't remember which sauce it was) made the entire dish taste so good! I also ordered an iced mocha because you can't not order a cold drink when you come here! <br/><br/>The birthday girl ordered the open steak sandwich and Jessica ordered pancakes which came with seasonal fruit! One of our orders got mixed up and Cathy ended up waiting for her eggs benedict for so long, that the rest of us started eating before our food got cold! After informing the staff, they sorted it out and were very apologetic! The manager even came out to apologize. At the end when we paid, he gave us a card (all stamped) for a free drink next time we popped by and apologized again! It was unfortunate that this happened, but we appreciated how apologetic they were and how much they tried to make up for it. <br/><br/>Regardless of this little incident, I'm still willing to drive across town for this cafe! Can't wait to be back for a iced mocha and some food! :)

Food took a little long to arrive. Great presentation but the taste was nothing special. Loved the ambiance of the place and the great service. Would be awhile until I return again.

Great food at affordable prices. Excellent service and attentive. Decor is excellent. Nice retreat in the suburbs. Food was fresh. Great atmosphere.

Fact tree has always been a treat to dine at! The drinks are always amazing and the whole place is so cute! I remember the first time ever going there and thinking the jar glasses were just the coolest things! I used to LOVE the eggs Benedict here until they changed the bread out for hashbrowns. Sadly I have not returned since but am planning on giving it another go sometime soon. It gets quite crowded and sometimes there is no where to sit. Cute and quiet location though.

Busy cafe with friendly staff, amazing food and drinks. Staff were quick to answer questions and check on how we were. I heard about this cafe from a colleague at work and decided to try it out. Was not disappointed! Would recommend to all. <br/><br/>I had the Thai beef salad and it was a pleasant surprise. Beef was very tender and everything went together very well. I especially loved their iced chocolate. Probably the best I've had. The quality is definitely worth the price. I don't think there was a table empty for more than a few minutes! I think we were lucky to get a seat as soon as we arrived. Most definitely will be back to try some of their other food and drinks.

Here on a busy Sat morning, had the eggs beni and my partner had the thai beef salad both were delicious!! We also had the pleasure of trying the ice chocolate, this is a must here as they were nice and thick with a creamy top, so tasty.. would reccomend highly

This is one of my favourite places to eat in the shore. I used to live in the area so I frequented this place a lot. I haven't had a bad meal here. Their coffees and smoothies are great and the food too. I love the salt and pepper squid but I've also tried the beef burger, steak sandwich and pasta. Their servings are massive though so be aware of that. I've had difficulty finishing my food. My sister had the Thai beef salad and it was massive! If you have a big appetite their dishes will be great for you. The downside is this place is quite small and the tables are limited.

Went there on a Tuesday after lunch time. Was very busy. Loved spicy and creamy ginger latte! One of bestest I have ever had in Auckland. I had prawn and scallops and hubby had fact tree breakfast. Hash brown was very nice, the pesto creamy sauce from prawn and scallops dish was fantastic. I will definitely come back to try some other dishes!

I've been to Fact-tree a few times for Brunch and I really love it, but had one bad experience, which is why I'm not giving it a 5. <br/><br/>Each time I've been the staff have been friendly, the atmosphere is good and the food amazing. The milkshakes and iced chocolates are great, so delicious and well presented, though not cheap. <br/><br/>The food is always amazing, especially the presentation. I've only ever ordered off the menu but the food in the cabinet food looks good too. <br/><br/>The negative experience I had was last Sunday when my boyfriend and I went for brunch at about 12.30. It was really busy and although we got seated quickly and our orders taken, it took about half an hour for our drinks to even come, and that was after asking twice. The food then arrived about 10-15 minutes later. If we had known the wait was going to be so bad we wouldn't have ordered. I guess they were having an off day because normally it's just as busy but never have we had to wait so long. It won't deter me from going back though, would just advise others to check how long the wait will be.

Was rather disappointed last time I went. This used to be our local favourite, but I don't think we will be going back. My friend waited 25minutes for their smoothie, but as he was waiting 3 tables around us who arrived later than us all got their ice chocolates, seems like they make their ice chocolates their priority. We even asked where it was several times and they just smiled and walked away. When the smoothie finally did come the glass was dirty, there was chocolate smeared on the inside and rust around the top. Our food was pretty average too. I ordered what I usually would, which is French Toast, but was disappointed when I found out they'd changed it. It was loaded with berries which soaked into one of the pieces of bread and made it unbearable. The berries were almost off too. Disappointed as I used to love this place.

Fact tree is a place where you'll always get a good meal that you'll be happy with. Love the little facts attached to drinks and loved the drinks. It's a place with good vibes and good service!

Great cafe which is always humming. Food is delicious and beautifully presented. The hot chocolate is soo chocolatey I would go back just for that and the smoothie selection is great!

Best cafe I have ever been to. Always satisfied when coming here, great food (tastes amazing), great service, and never takes too long. Love coming here!

Such a cool little cafe, great food and great value for money. Went here for brunch and our meals were large and delicious. I had the creamy mushrooms ...which could of been just a wee bit better by adding a few different varieties of mushroom rather than just button, my husband had the chirizo omelette which was huge and yummy. Coffee was good too, hot and strong. They are in the entertainment book. Will definitely be back.....might check out the cabinet food and smoothies cause it all looked good!<br/>

Amazing place!!! I have been there a couple of time to eat in and it has always been exceptional. Today, we had takeaways! Wow! The flavours were amazing and so much food!!! I got the Cajun Chicken and there was so much chicken and my mum got the Thai beef salad and it was lilke a whole fillet of beef!! And the flavours were soooooo good. <br/>Keep up the amazing work! <br/>Also, amazing Iced Tea!!!! Must try

I've gotten brunch here a few times. I love the atmosphere - it is bright, open and friendly. The food is pretty good but sometimes portion sizes are a little small for the price. Delicious meals regardless. The cabinet food always looks amazing.

Went and had brunch at fact-tree. I got the blat and it was delicious. Cafe area is quite small but great atmosphere and very reasonably priced! Iced chocolates are a must do! They are amazing!!!

I tried fact-tree for the first time the other day after having it recommended to me so many times! I had to see what all the fuss was about! It met every expectation and more! The staff were really friendly and the food was outstanding! The cafe itself is very pleasant to dine in at, as I think it is a fairly new cafe... Everything was presented lovely, I ordered the avocado smash and the eggs benedict, both were very reasonably priced and tasted absolutely amazing! I'll definitely be returning again! Happy customer!

Very unimpressed and disappointed from my lunch at Fact Tree! Couldn't find the great friendly service....I know it's a busy and tiny place, but please let your customer finish the meal and we wouldn't stay long
Christine
This place will surprise you, an extensive menu and everything we tried was amazing! Delicious pancakes surrounded by fresh seasonal fruit.. Oh and the coffee was perfect!
Lauren
Lovely atmosphere accompanied by great service. We ordered a mango + peach smoothie and a chocolate milkshake - both were amazing, can't wait to go back.

Was here for lunch before Christmas. It was my first time trying this place out. I had heard great things about Fact-tree and thought it was time I tried them out myself!<br/><br/>Although it is located in a strange area (felt very residential), once I stepped inside the cafe, I felt like I was transported to the central city. It was quite busy as it was a Sunday, but we managed to secure ourselves a table with the couches. <br/><br/>I ordered a eggs benedict with smoked salmon and avocado, a chocolate milkshake and my friend ordered prawn and scallops with a chai latte. <br/><br/>The food and drinks were quick to reach our table and the service was excellent. My friend usually has quite a large appetite, but even she could not fully finish her meal, so you could imagine how large the portions were. <br/><br/>Overall, they made one of the best and creative eggs benedicts I've ever tried, and on a day when I am super hungry, I will for sure return again.

I absolutely love Fact Tree. It's one of my favourite things about living in Sunnynook. I go there all the time, to pick up a coffee or dine in. My favourite thing is the Corn Fritters, they are just to die for. The iced mocha is delicious, the normal coffees are always good too. I love all of the baking, particularly the date and orange scone. At times the service can feel a bit like they're overwhelmed, but it's always friendly. I just wish it was bigger, because it's always packed!

One of, if not the best café dining experiences I have ever come across. Everything was beautiful and the service wasn't intrusive. I had the salmon egg benedict and although one of the eggs was hard I remains as the best breakfast I have had. <br/>I will definitely be back soon

Good coffee, but the food is expensive. They need to reduce their prices. They have some comfortable couches to sit on, however, I was asked to move to a small table with a cold hard chair just in case a larger group might come who might want the couches. It made me feel like a second class citizen. Toilets are very clean. Free WiFi good.

Awesome cafe! This is probably the best cafe I have been to. Beautifully decorated, friendly staff and most of all, DELICIOUS food and drinks! I have tried most of their food and they are all so yummy. I especially love their risotto (Chef's Special), Thai Beef Salad and Open Steak Sandwich - very flavourful! As for the drinks, I usually order their Iced Mocha or Peach Mango Smoothie. The drinks are a bit pricey but great as a treat. My kids love going to this cafe too. I definitely recommend this cafe!!! Check it out! <br/>Just a heads up - the cafe is relatively small so gets a bit packed during lunch time.

Our daughter insisted we come here and we were so pleased that we went, the drinks are served in old jam jars and are worth the $8.00, I had smoothie in Wellington recently which was half of the size served here but was not half as good. The salt &amp;pepper squid was the best squid I had eaten for ages, so tender, my daughter had the caesar salad, and the wife had a dish from the cabinet. Everything is so fresh, the decor is refreshing and the staff are excellent. Can't wait till we go again, you certainly don't need to go to Ponsonby when you have a place like this on the shore.

Really really cute cafe!!! I had bacon and eggs and loved them!!! For $15 they were really worth it! However, the Iced Chocolate I had however great it was, was very very over priced $8 is far to much seeing as you can go to most cafe's and have them for $5. :) The cafe is really small too, for being so busy it would really benefit the business to think about expanding. Overall the experience we had was really really good, great friendly staff and amazing food!! A+

Really impressive, came for lunch and almost everything on the menu looked amazing. Settled for the corn fritters which were top notch, and an avocado banana &amp; peanut butter smoothie, which was, well, a little weird (other smoothie options looked a bit safer). Friendly service and a nice fit-out too. Would recommend to all!
Belinda
Best smoothies ever! The honey, date and almond smoothie is my fave and worth every cent :) have even taken international visitors and had the scones which are superb. My daughter loves their mango smoothies and the chips, we will be back!

Love this café - my local! Food is yum, coffee is great! service is pretty friendly. A tiny bit pricier than other places, but tasty. I love that it is in a random community orientated place.
Monica
The iced chocolate is really yum and pretty, however $8.50 is quite a bit. Food is pretty good and the waitress that served us was nice and helpful, however the cafe is in a random location and it is pretty small.

Fact-tree is my absolute favourite cafe in Auckland. I often pick up my morning coffee here and come with my partner on the weekends. Can't get enough of it! <br/><br/>Costumer service is exceptional and so is the food!!
Barbara
The website states that they take bookings but when I tried to make one was told that it is a minimum of 4 people and does not apply to the weekends.<br/><br/>The young Asian female I spoke to was incredibly rude.<br/><br/>I also got a take out from there several weeks ago and when I asked a question about the food I was again answered by a young Asian female in a very rude manner.<br/><br/>I would never ever go there again
BP
Great cafe with fantastic food and coffee, really love the homemade hash browns and the cabinet food looks delicious. We have become regulars here.

Stylish decor. Great coffee. Good service. Fabulous food at reasonable prices. Awesome. <br/>My husband and I went for breakfast one Sunday and we would highly recommend the waffles with rhubarb compote and their poached eggs and bacon. Yum!<br/>We've told everyone we know to go there for a coffee too. It's great to be able to pop in for a takeaway coffee on a walk around Sunnynook park - great for mums with baby buggies!

My wife and I had lunch here last Sunday and were most impressed! We both had sandwiches... her the BLAT, myself the steak. Not only did they taste great, but the customer service was second to none! Our coffees had been forgotten about, but this was understandable as this place was very busy... the waitress was very apologetic when they did arrive. Upon settling the bill, they tried to take the coffees off the bill, but I insisted on paying as we had an Entertainment Book voucher. They counter-offered by taking the more expensive meal off the bill. We definitely will be back and will be recommending others to do so!

Very impressed. Lovely ambience, bright and airy space with a lot of care gone into the design. Have been twice now and tried latte, tea, ginger crunch and raspberry/choc muffin. All the cooking is done in-house and is of a very high standard. The coffee was velvety and the tea made with leaves in generous designer pot. My friends and I will be back many times. (reasonably priced too).

Just loved it! I couldn't stop paying attention in each detail. They thought in everything! My husband had a Lasagna and said that it was so good as mine, it means " better than mine ". I had a Stuffed Capsicum...wow! You definitively should try this place!
Angela
Am very tempted to go there every day I like it so much; ditto to the other comments on food, styling, atmosphere, service and the variety. Fantastic that they can be open every day in an area you wouldn't expect to be busy enough.<br/>And largely healthy, even the baking seems to have less sugar than other providers.
Posie Johnston
Wow!! What a refreshing find!! <br/>The decor is modern, relaxing and inviting with plenty of couches (as well as tables). The staff were so friendly :-).<br/>The food was de-lish, both to look at and taste - it was nice to see the twist that has been put to some to the normal options.... you have GOT to try the Hash Browns!! They are D-vine!!! Excellent coffee too ... I just know I'll be a regular!
Love Food
The place is so small, nice smoothie but below average food, will not go back again.
Nick
I had the date, banana and almond smoothie. It's awesome. Best smoothie I've had. The place looks nice and was packed. I had to get takeaway.
Andy
Fact-tree is simply amazing! Having tried many other cafes throughout Auckland this place is in a league of its own. Firstly the food is consistently 10/10 all beautifully prepared and presented, much better than all other cafes we have tried within the Auckland area. Secondly we have always found the staff very warm and friendly where they have offered pleasant, quick and efficient service. Thirdly the price: definitely worth the price which is on a par to other cafes but the quality of food and service beats the rest! Fact-tree is a clear winner! 10/10 every time - thank you :) Andy and Joanne

Great little spot here. In the heart of sunnynook, at first i questioned the location but realised its a perfect spot for mums and dads to drop their children off at sport down the road and come here for a coffee and bite to eat. <br/><br/>Food is amazing ,portion sizes are good and prices very decent.<br/>The hot chocolates and smoothies are fantastic but maybe a little expensive. <br/><br/>This place is a popular spot and is very busy during the weekends. <br/>Friendly staff that are happy to talk and joke with customers.
