Oh man. This pizza was soooo good. The minute we walked in the door I could tell it was going to be good, because when we were tossing up between small or large the chef said "get a large, it's pizza!" And you could tell he had love for the food he creates. And man these pizzas were made with love. The ingredients were all properly placed and spaced out so every piece had a bit of everything, every bite had maximum flavour. The tomato paste on the base was rich and full of flavour so even the bites of the crust with the last bits of sauce were delicious. Pictures speak a thousand words and these pics say it all. Lives up to its name - just gorgeous pizza. Easy 5/5 can't wait to go back. We had the Lucy and the Scarlett (with added olive and artichoke)

Absolutely love this place. Wayne is such a great host, always makes you feel welcome. The arincini is always perfect, the pizzas are great, and the cheesecake is divine. Everything is homemade, you can't go wrong!

Fantastic! Pizzas were delicious, so much flavour. We did the full 3 courses as there's so much we wanted to try. Rolled out of there but was totally worth it. Food was great! Absolutely devoured the pizza there. Owner was really nice, he was the only one working the shift as they were low on staff but he killed it (especially as I dined with a group of 8, + other customers dined in). Would definitely recommend checking this place out!

I love to have dinner here. Their pizza was the best. You better try salad as well it comes with all combinations and is well mixed with a salad dressing. The homemade garlic bread was awesome. Highly recommended.

A friendly, warm and inviting place to indulge into some delicious pizza and pasta. Loads of vegetarian choices. The chef customised aglio e olio for us and it was delicious. The pizza was phenomenal, we had Jackie o, loved the toppings especially feta with olives! Don’t miss the cheese cake, it tastes as Good as it looks! Loads of parking on the other side even on busy Sunday nights! I don’t drink, but I could see lots of wines and such for those who like a glass of something with their pizza!

My wife and I enjoy going to Gorgeous Pizza for a night out. The range of pizzas is unique and they are really tasty. We always get great service. The desserts are good too, highly recommend the cheesecake that the owner makes himself. They are also kid friendly.

We went quite late but they let us order takeaway anyway, so that was great! We've ordered the Jackie O large pizza and the oven cooked spuds (wedges). The wait time was quick, the food is literally gorgeus! We definitely will be back again and recommend to friends!

Such a great place for dinner. The ambiance and the guy is friendly. The vegetarian pizza and garlic bread goes perfectly with a prosecco. Everything from place to food simple fine. Great for a date, for two and a group of 6 (they have one large table)

Rustic, simple foods done well. Good vegetarian menu with lovely flavors so the diversity of Auckland can frequent here. Here is the home of a truly decent meatball with sauce. Most refreshing to note that they have Tabasco sauce available and chili sprinkle with ample amounts of dried parmesan.

Pizza was fantastic! I loved every bite. It was so worth waiting for the food. Meatballs were yummy too and the sauce was amazing. Looks like i found a new favourite. The desserts could be a bit better, but if you're looking for awesome pizza, this is the place. I will try other flavours but i really enjoyed what i picked.

Absolutely the BEST pizza I have ever had, the customer service was EXCELLENT and the staff were really charm and friendly. Walked out of this place happy and smiling. It's a nice place to go to before or after a rugby game or whether you just want to have a good dining experience with your loved ones. Highly RECOMMENDED!!

Very underwhelming. Ordered x2 regular pizzas for two of us and they were much smaller than expected.. Especially considering they were $19 each. Very minimal topping for this price also.

$18.00 for a small 4 slice ? The quality and taste was consistent with Dominos. To claim this is NY style pizza is actually misleading. Overall average at best.

New York pizza bar? Leaves me wondering which New York this was meant to be,as we all know the USA is the home of the oversized portions. But to pay $18.00 for what they call a regular size leaves us guessing that they mean snack size regular. (See photos ). Taste of food is good but for the price it's way over the top. Besides there are many more New York pizzas in the city Like Sals, epiolto, and Loco.

Disappointing to see that pizzas were not even cooked in a proper pizza oven. Bases were quite bread-like and you could probably pick up something similar in the frozen section of the supermarket. Definitely expensive for what you get (Stumpy's is better value and better pizza). However, topping selection was pretty good and an interesting selection available (although too salty re the Heidi and the Kate Moss). Names are gimmicky and would much rather they invested their time in learning how to make proper pizza bases....

Best pizza I've found in Auckland yet! Great variety and both sizes of pizza are good, super tasty and not greasy. I've had takeaway and eaten in here, great staff service - very friendly. The chocolate donut dessert is a must!! Only drawback is that it is a few dollars more expensive than I would be happy to pay, but pretty good value for money.

Table For Two

We visited Gorgeous one Friday night. Love the concept and feel of the restaurant. We had the Salma and Lucy Liu pizzas - both were tasty but Salma was the favourite of the night. A bit of wait but it was definitely worth it! She said - Friendly staff who even chatted to us about some of their favourite Auckland restaurants He said - Cashew nuts worked well on the Lucy Liu pizza. We'll be returning!

Yum! Went last night and it was pretty busy with only 1 table free and loads of takeaway orders. Pizza and the rocket salad were delicious. You can do half and half and a large for 2 people is perfect. Thin bases and not so much topping its sliding off the dough, it's just right, good fresh flavours. Definitely will return.

Great place, great service. We phone ordered and picked up two great pizzas, the Eva & Tyra. Will definitely go back and eat in with our family as the decor looked really inviting. Nice to know Mt Eden has a decent (& just a little edgy) pizzeria...well worth the visit.

Such good pizza! It's so yummy but isn't overwhelmed by toppings. Plus they have cool names. The pizzas are always so fresh and tasty. The bases are so thin and crispy. I really recommend the Sophia pizza. I've come here again and again. I really like the atmosphere, it feels lively and fun. The staff are all really friendly too. Really relaxed feel.

This is by far the closest thing to New York style pizza that I have found in New Zealand. The crust and sauces are excellent, the choices of toppings range from traditional and, thankfully well proportioned, to innovative. And the service is casual and excellent. A local fave.

Only plus side was the setup and the quirkiness of the pizzas being named after actresses. Pizza was disappointing, hardly any toppings or seasoning. Quiet over priced. Service was shocking, server/manager was disinterested in serving us and did not apologise for the major delay in getting our pizzas out to us, which was disappointing. The table next to us got their food before us and we were there 30 mins before them ! I do not recommend this place, there are many other great pizza places out there !

We dropped in at Gorgeous for a quick meal on Saturday night and were warmly greeted by the head waitress. The restaurant was a lot quieter than when we had first tried (and failed) to dine here one manic night about 18 months earlier. We ordered two large pizzas, expecting to take some home, and a couple glasses of red wine that we felt were appropriate for the wintry conditions outside. Our pizzas arrived promptly and were both delicious. Fresh from the oven, generously bedecked with toppings and stringy mozzarella, and all atop crisp homemade bases. Needless to say, we ate far too much and left nothing to take home. Classic, simple pizzas done well (and helped along by some very friendly service).

We ate at Gorgeous on Friday 2nd September 2011. We were in AKD for the weekend and were taking advantage of a deal voucher I'd bought ( excellent deal : 2 pizzas, salad, cheesecake and 2 glasses of wine for $39!!). I emailed ahead to book a table and we were a little late when we arrived - said 5.15 but it was 5.30pm. We were on the minutes as we had to be out for 7pm but I needn't have worried.... The service was excellent. The pizzas were divine and we were served within 10 minutes. All we had to do was eat and enjoy, which we really did. Thanks Gorgeous. We walked in around 8pm on a Saturday night, were seated, ordered drinks (which arrived quickly), placed our order for 2 regular pizzas. Then we waited & waited. Around 8:45 we decided to turn our order into a takeout & it wasn't until 9pm that the pizzas were ready albeit one was cold as it waited on the bench until the other one was ready. By the way, the pizza bar itself had virtually no dine in customers. So we took home one not totally cooked pizza (stuck to the box) and one cold pizza. The waitress did apologise for the wait, she said this was due to the rugby which meant they were too busy with takeout orders. She gave us a coupon for a free pizza but quite frankly I don't think we'll bother using it. Disappointing evening.

Most I've enjoyed eating pizza for ages. It is quite a different style to what I'm used to. We ate 3 large between four of us and it was perfect. Thin bases and fresh ingredients meant we could eat heaps and not be left feeling ill.

We enjoyed our pizza and salad on our visit. The restaurant is new with a mix of standard seating, a long banquet table and taller bar style tables. They do serve their pizza’s half and half which lets you try their tasty range on the menu. The pizza, while it did not have a lot of topping was very tasty. The Rocket Salad was particularly good. Service was friendly and engaging.
