Review Dirty Laundry - Auckland

Went to breakfast here last week. My daughter picked the place due to its name, but I was really happy with the menu. I had the crispy chicken on waffles and it was excellent. Really liked the flavour of the crispy chicken. The serving size wasn’t too big which I appreciated. Sometimes you get a breakfast meal and it’s just too big. This was decent, I felt full but could still move! It was also a good price. Service was excellent too.

Food was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the breakfast food. The creamy mushrooms were divine. Staff are lovely too. Thanks for a great experience!

Really good cafe. Lovely people. The food was excellent. I had the acai bowl and colleague avocado and eggs soft tacos. Coffee really really good. Team very friendly and great to talk with. No problem with us along to work at the table for a little bit too. Definitely recommend.

Our last day in New Zealand after 3 weeks here. Dirty Laundry Breakfast was the best meal we have had. Not only presentation was exquisite but the taste did not disappoint. We had the Blueberry Pancakes and the Eggs Bene with coffee and a mango smoothie. The coffee was the best coffee my husband has had, the mango smoothie was good but small for the $8.50 price I thought. Eggs Bene were really good too. But those blueberry pancakes....omg....it was AMAZING TO DIE FOR! Huge shout out to the establishment...definitely will remember this place when we come back....might have to come back from Canada just for the Dirty Laundry pancakes.

Handy to the CBD, Ferry Terminals and Viaduct, good coffee and yummi breakfast options, served promptly. Catches the late afternoon sun, good for a wine and people watching. Went back for the Acai bowl and a smoothie the next morning!

We loved our Dirty Laundry experience!!! Fresh Friendly & Fast! We were on a time limit as we were heading to Waiheke and the staff were awesome best bunch I’ve had in a long! Time. Ps loved the cheeky wallpaper 😜.

Went in for breakfast at about 10.30. My server was really nice and I was seated pretty much immediately. The food came out really quickly! I ordered the free range eggs (comes any style so I chose scrambled) and added smoke kahawai. I had asked for no toast (it comes with ciabatta) and wasn't expecting a lot of food but was pleasantly surprised to see the generous portion of egg. 😊 The kahawai was a good amount and the tomato relish was so good, not too sweet. I was probably in and out in 20-25 minutes which is awesome for the city and especially as it was table service. Really happy with the portion I got in relation to cost.

Cafe opens at 7am. Great for a yummy breakfast of smashed avocado, halloumi, poached eggs, sour dough toast... nice coffee.

Nice place,good breakfast menu- especially - eggs Benedict and smoked kahawai(perfection 👌). A nice start for a day - Bourbon Tea Cocktail. A big minus - construction work ,but nothing can be done about that. Friendly ,nice and professional stuff.

I have some critiques, but they are based on personal preferences. All in all, the food was good.

Haven't eaten here yet, but it was the vibe, drinks, and service on our first visit a while back that made it a warm welcome. It definitely has an air of regality and class to it while simultaneously feeling like it could be an underground spot for the night.

Very nice food with beautiful decoration :-) Staff very really friendly and gave us very good recommendations and advice about food. The mayo sauce made there was really yummy and special.

Great service, good selection of drinks, convenient location. Could totally see this becoming the hot spot once nearby constructions are finished

Had a lunch with work collègues there. Really enjoyed the Big Dirty and Dirty Macho with chicken that we ordered. Though a bit on the pricy side but the quality and size definitely worth the $. Will be back for other stuff...

Great cocktails,tapas style food really good wine and whiskey list real friendly service didn’t take any food pictures cause we smashed it, we will be back

Lovely restaurant on a great waterfront location, fantastic food and very friendly staff with excellent service. We had such an amazing experience at Dirty Laundry and loved our food and coffees!!! The atmosphere was great and the service was top-notch with a smile. Dirty Laundry was a perfect place to celebrate a marathon completion with friends :) The quality of food was excellent! We cannot wait to visit again. Would highly recommend!

Had lunch with my friends today. We all enjoyed our dishes: slow cooked lamb; fish taco and fries.

This place has the best fish tacos I’ve had. The staff were really lovely and approachable. I loved this place and it’s perfect for lunch dates

Environment it’s nice and fun. The position great. Staff very friendly and looked after us. It wasn’t very busy for lunch although the prices were cheap compared with the other options around. <br/>Menu had lots of ingredients choices. <br/>The only thing I would suggest is to balance the macros in the dishes: For example if the main ingredient is duck pate, no need to fry the bread with extra excessive oil because it’s enough of fat already. Also choose a better mayo for the lobster. The pate and lobster roll in itself was delicious.

Hadn’t been open long when I came here. Sat inside and the music was too loud really for dining. We had the green goddess hummus which was far too garlic-y, and it wasn’t stated in the menu that the dish even had garlic in it. Ratio hummus to flat bread not right either - more bread please! I had the market fish ‘large plate’. Note - the word main should be used on the menu here not large plate which is more for large dishes designed to share (this was not one of those). It tasted nice enough but just too oily. The main thing about all the dishes we ordered was that all the ingredients were really fresh and good quality. Overall for me it was a been there done that experience.

Came for lunch with 2 work friends, sat in the sun which was very pleasant - service initially a bit slow but overall pretty good.  Pricing on food seemed a bit wonky - I had a 'small plate' for $14 which was a good sized portion of whitebait on toast with a nice salad - perfect size for lunch, nicely seasoned, would definitely have again.  My 2 friends both had one of the small salads and added chicken to it - ended up being a $22 salad, however the $11 addition of chicken gave them about 100g of protein - seemed a bit pricey for what was delivered, and in contrast to my very reasonable and tasty dish.  Their salads tasted good - was just a bit expensive for the amount of protein delivered.  Will try again but perhaps avoid the overpriced salads and stick with the other dishes - fish tacos going out to other tables looked great so I think that's the choice for next time

Had dinner on the weekend with a friend. Small-ish portion size but the main was really nice, steak fillet cooked perfect and string beans nice and fresh. Ordered a few sides, they brought the wrong one out initially and when the tomatoes arrived a few were very firm, not ripe. The garlic hummus was really rich and over portioned vs. the tiny amount of flatbread. Overall you could tell the place is so new (first week), lots of new staff and confused faces to be honest and in an open kitchen like they have you can't hide. A 4 rating is handicapped to give a bit of leeway for the early bird nature of my review.<br/><br/>Hopefully Dirty stick around but will need to up their game pretty quick in a ultra competitive and demanding CBD market. Will be back in a few months to see...
