Review Pepperjacks - Auckland

Great place that accommodates the whole family. Food and drinks were amazing and vibes were great. The sauce on my burger was to die for. Staff was very friendly and the kids were happy to be playing outside on their scooters. Definitely going back again.

Pleasantly surprised. All food was beautiful. First time our very large family including kids finished everything on our plates. Milkshakes , iced coffee and hot drinks were actually delicious . Have never heard comments about drinks by some family members .. but today I did ! And top notch service. All staff were so attentive to everything. Highly reccomend! Thank you team made our family members birthday brunch Even better 🙂

Fabulous place with great selection of Beer, Cocktail and food menu. Deliciously tasting food with good portion sizes. Lovely staff who provide great service here. Seating can be outside or inside. Best place in the area compared to Pine Harbour eatery and Bar opposite side. Don't go there and only go to Pepperjacks. Other places are super loud music noisy. We loved local Manaia Beer, Happy hour cocktails and food here. Surely will visit again if we are near this area.

What can I say? The service is great and the staff are all friendly and helpful. Haven't seen the chef, but the fish was superb, and the chips were lovely and crispy. Also, a good cabinet selection if that's what you want. Love their date scones.

Fabulous Cafe with delicious food and coffee! Fish and chips were super yum (The fish was fresh, and chips were crispy and tasty!), and Beef Cheek Benedict tasted awesome as well (The beef was so tender!). Coffee was creamy, and the service was great. Spacious environment. Free carpark outside.

Good venue 👌 a tidy bit expensive. Pre Covid rates should be applied. Want more customers .... make it easier, pricing of menu should be more competitive currently on the higher side.

Always a fantastic experience! Been there many times and we're never disappointed. Breakfast menu is a must-try and the atmosphere is unbeatable!

The great atmosphere with an excellent marina view😀 The branch menu & the food were good, but can be better to achieve 5 stars. Great service & kids friendly place.

We love coming here. The food is so good. I always get the lamb rack

Occasionally you go to a cafe that blows you away and becomes a favourite spot. Pepperjacks did that for me today! The staff were lovely and very welcoming, friendly yet professional. The Crab Eggs Benedict is divine and you can’t ask for a nicer view when drinking your perfect coffee. They even make their hash browns from scratch! I was amazed and will definitely be back.

Beautiful spot where you feel like you’re taken out of Auckland. Such a beautiful setting, amazing hospitality and fantastic atmosphere (even in the middle of a pandemic) đŸ€© the food here is to die for and all at an affordable price. We had the chilli chicken with some drinks outside. Will definitely be back!!!!

Great service and a very good variety if food on the menu. The atmosphere is lovely with the option if outdoor seating as well as indoor. We had the braised beef and lamb shank. They were very generous servings and we'll balanced. There was a perfect amount of gravy/jus and the meat was beautifully cooked. The rosemary potatoes were a bit bland but otherwise a perfect meal.

Had lunch here on a nice sunny still day. Outdoor area is sheltered with covers for wet or windy days but was all open today. Nice relaxing atmosphere, food was tasty and fresh.

Smoothies and iced chocolate were good, soup was amazing and pancakes were good too. The wait between ordering and getting our food was only 25 minutes or so.

Best food ever!!!!!!! The owners and staff give you so much attention and genuinely care about making your experience memorable. Oh and dog friendly ♡

Been here once for dinner. Very nice atmosphere and view of the sea. Service was excellent. Food was tasty and definitely recommend anyone that wants a nice dinner out to visit this place.

Lots of empty tables on a sunny Sunday afternoon at around 1pm which were advised to be all reserved by the girl at the bar next to the main entrance. We dont mind being told there's no table available with alternatives nearby and we didnt reserve in advance anyway. However we would feel much better if she would present it with a smile.

p.s We seated at the jap place opposite and observed lots of empty tables from 1-3pm (outdoor areas)

great place for a pleasant bite to eat. staff were always polite and ready to assist, especially managers (if it is the older indian? man), nothing is ever too hard. food is delicious - never short of options, great atmosphere!

Went here with a group of friends and asked for a strong hot coffee. My coffee was weak so I asked the wait person to give me another shot. She was very obliging and immediately added another shot without charge. I was very impressed with her attitude.

We have been to Pepperjacks three times in the past year and each time we have been progressively more disappointed. The service is unfriendly at best, off hand and flippant at worst. There were 6 of us dining and our meals were average. One particular mention was the Thai chicken salad which had the tiniest serve of warm, old salad although a generous serve of chicken. There was no coriander as stated in the menu. On our first visit we mentioned to the owners that the service was disappointing, second visit we did so again. Third visit we didn’t bother however it was certainly our last visit. Such a shame as it’s a beautiful setting.

Best kumara fries I have had. So crispy. It makes sense to just have sour cream when the kumara has so much flavor on its own.
Hazelnut mocha was worth trying.

Appalling attitude of staff.
Arrived at 2.30pm on a Monday for an afternoon coffee as we were visiting friends in the area. The place was extremely quiet.
We were greeted not with a friendly “hello” - rather an abrupt “no coffee”. (However the sign out the front was advertising coffee and said it was open)
The waitress Michelle was very rude in how she said this. Not letting us know what else was on offer.
We felt very unwelcome. After some deliberation, we decided to stay for ice cream, which still seemed like too much hassle for the waitress to get for us.
All in all, very disappointing and we won’t be back.

Visited pepperjacks for breakfast with a group of 6. None of us were impressed with the food. Quite basic but also quite pricey for what you get. It's a shame because the location is amazing

Nice location with a great view. Been to pepperJacks couple of times now great atmosphere and service. All though the food is okish bit overpriced.

This place is deffs good for chill with few mates with a few beers as they have a good selection

Normally on Saturday mornings at Pine Harbour, Beachlands, there is a farmers' market. (But not many stalls were there on this Easter weekend.) At Pepperjacks, I had my favourite chicken livers with toasted garlic bread & creamy Marsala sauce, while my wife chose beef soup with bread & onion mumm which is deep-fried onion in the shape of a chrysanthemum with a special (sweet & sour) sauce. Triple chocolate cheesecake was beautiful. Coffees are hot. However, onion mum was my pick of the day. With the stunning view & good food in front of you, what can you lose. (Food - 4/5; Service - 3.5/5; Ambience 4/5)

Been to Pepperjacks a couple of times with my parents and my partner. The atmosphere is okay, it's a little weird when you come in, you don't know whether it's table service or if you order at the bar. Once I got served at our table and once I waited a while so had to end up ordered at the counter. The calamari (the dish I normally get) is alright, the salad they put with it very yummy though! The food is very pubby and very traditional. Not too much variety and quite a lot of hearty food. Not too many healthy alternatives. Reasonably priced.

A place that's just never really worked for me in the 4 times I've been for dinner (yes, I know, but sometimes guests just don't want Japanese!). The food's okay (just okay), but overpriced. Location's lovely though, and I did enjoy the salt & pepper squid when I went for a light lunch.

My family and friends have visited Pepperjacks on numerous occasions and have always had delicious and generous meals. The staff and chef have changed menus for us i.e. a perfectly cooked selection of vegetables instead of salad, without a fuss. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location superb and parking is easy. I would recommend Pepperjacks for any type of function as their private section has always been in use when I've been there, yet have never been obtrusive as they have been in a separate section which, I'm sure they appreciate too. I encourage all to visit this restaurant any time, for any occasion.

We went to this place as we had a discount voucher, food is quite pricey considering the low quality, the burger patties had a lot of breadcrumbs that we can hardly feel the meat, the sliders' meat was cold, which is not good at all and the service is slow, besides you either have to pay in full at the start or opening a tab, it is a pity as the location is great.

In summary this place is only good for fries and nachos and for having a beer (they have a good selection of crafty beer)

The food was acceptable but not worth the long wait and poor service. Entree (just bread and dips) took over 40min to come out and mains took over 1 hr to come out. The restaurant wasnt even that busy, there was only 4 other tables there. I would hate to know how long you'd wait if it was full. You can expect to be left there wondering when they will come and take your plates. Overall experience was poor. I woukd not go back.

We arrived at the marina late morning looking for an early lunch. Having previously visited Pepperjacks in 2012, I was keen to check it out again. Relatively quiet, we had the pick of tables in the restaurant and after ordering our food, we chose a table by the window.
My son and I shared poutine fries and a piece of carrot cake, with a coffee for me and a fluffy for him. The poutine was perfection, although not served with the traditional curds - the proportions of the three key ingredients was spot on. The carrot cake was delicious and moist and both hot beverages were well made.
The front of house service was good but I did have to hunt down and set up the high chair by myself. There was also no additional request as to whether we would like anything else at the end of our meal. Small things like this do impact on the customer service experience and can turn a good time into a great one.
The menu has some interesting offerings that I'd definitely be interested in returning and trying. Keep it on your radar, especially for a quiet weekday brunch with a spectacular view.

This place has had its day! The service was appalling, we got another table's meals which we started to eat and in turn meant our table had to eat in 2 shifts as the rest of our meals where not ready. We got another table's coffee which then got taken away just before we took a sip... At the end we wanted to split the bill evenly between the whole group, but different numbers within each family (bill split evenly between 16 of us, I would be paying for 5 with my brother inlaw paying for 4 etc...) but got told we could only pay as one table or split it in equal amounts! In the end I paid for the whole table, but when I tried to pay their eftpos machine wouldn't take my card. The guy behind the counter insisted that my card must be faulty, until he offered to try his other machine and of course my card worked!!!!! He also saw nothing wrong with the service we had received and was quite indignant. On top of all of this the food was average. My advice would be to stay away, these guys have no real idea about service at all.

To have to wait 45 minutes for a simple meal of eggs and bacon, this establishment can get messed up. I understand the high amount of foot traffic they had at the time, but some common courtesy of letting us know that our shit meals were going to take so long to prepare would have been much appreciated. I could have spent my money at the more better Japanese place next door
Under new management now, the overall feeling my party of 3 got from here was an unexpected surprise. Have to give a big wrap to the new owner, friendly and attentive to our needs throughout the night. Service was pretty good too, with two pleasant waitresses. Was fairly busy the Friday night we visited in springtime. Lamb on mash was pretty good, but do note that the mash seems a bit like a packet powdered one, no doubt they can improve this, corn fritters were divine. All other meals consumed by the party were excellent and would recommend Pepperjack's to others. A good start for the relatively new owners.

Dined here a few nights ago, service was amazing, it was rather quiet though.

We had the fillet, which was fantastic, extremely tender & just absolutely divine. We also got the curry of the day, butter chicken - unfortunately I thought this lacked taste & was overly creamy. And another one of our group got the pasta, again AMAZING..

For dessert, unfortunately the cheesecake was unavailable.. Luckily they had banoffee pie, now this was fantastic, perfect texture, amazing flavours! I was absolutely stoked! The others I dined with got the apple pie, they raved about that also!

All in all, an awesome evening. Just I'd recommend staying away from the curry - maybe that's just my taste buds!

It was a bit hard to rate this place.... let me tell of our meal there. We were a party of 4 adults and arrived without a booking midweek. the place was full and we were offered a table outside, which we were a bit worried about as its mid winter. However, our host followed us out, seated us and put the heater on and offered us rugs. Nice touch, it was very comfortable. We had drinks, and our order was taken, no dramas, all worked as it should. We had a limited menu as we chose from the $17 mid week main course menu 3 of our party had steak on Kumara mash which was thouroughly enjoyed. I had lamb shank on 'mash'. The lamb was lovely .... but the mash was reconstituted powder smash rubbish.
So in summary we all enjoyed the whole experience, and will go back again, the service was 100% and the hosts were very attentive, but I will always check if offered 'Mash:........

This cafe has all the makings of a genuinely fabulous venue for a nice lazy brunch. At least that's what we thought. We wanted mash with our pan fried Dory ($25) instead of fries and they agreed with this. I was shocked when I found that the mash tasted rancid and I suspect made out of powdered potatoes or some such mix with a chemical taste. The fish was nicely cooked, limply white, not pan fried as I would expect and no brown crispy bits. The salad we had on the side had a vile dressing which I scraped off the lettuce and micro greens. All in all a very unpleasant experience. Very clumsy and unprofessional meal. The view wasn't too bad though. The meringue pie was okay but not great.

Me and my partner went to this restaurant today Thursday for dinner. We went up to this guy to order some drinks first , this guy gave me my beer then my partner asked for some wine and he said sorry we do not have this wine , then she asked for another wine luckily they had it and guy was about to give her the wine then this girl came running and asked the guy to ask my partner for ID. My partner didn't have id but we told him that she is 26 then he gave her drink and infort of her this girl said if this girl is lieing to you then what ? That was so rude. How can she say that she is lieing . There service was ridiculous and there food is not so great as well . This was the worst service we ever received . We will never go to this place again . Near to this restaurant there is one other restaurant just opposite this try that guys it's way better than this and there service is way better than this as well.

Been here for brunch and lunch before but never dinner, and never again! Dinner menu is over priced for what you get. Gourmet burgers are not gourmet, using the cheapest buns one could find at a dairy. Kumara fries tasted dry, old and bland. Kids meal came out with unexpected not on the menu sauce all over it which child wouldn't eat. When we were asked how everything was and we said not that great she just smirked and said ok and walked off. The good things were nice meat nice salad and nice coke oh and nice view but we could have got that going to the pub next door which we will do next time.

Fabulous coffee and reeeeeeally good puddings!!!!! Super friendly service, with a genuine smile and, of course, the view to die for. You were even kind enough to bring a bowl of water out for my woofer. Adult friendly, kid friendly, dog friendly and easy on the eyes : ) Love this place - thank you.

We had a lovely lunch at Pepperjacks yesterday.

The service was outstanding! As a vegetarian, I'm always nervous when I ask the dreaded question "What can you do that's vegetarian" and I received the perfect answer - "we can make almost anything on the menu vegetarian". Top marks!

Our party of four enjoyed a vegetarian pasta, fish & chips, squid and an open crumbed chicken sandwich. We all enjoyed our meals.

The location is beautiful and the view is gorgeous. You can read more about my experience, and see photos at http://celestereviews.wordpress.com/2013/01/28/well-be-back-jack/.

Nice location in the pretty marina and nice food. I enjoyed the yummy ribs, very messy but very satisfying. Washed down with a good glass of sav and watching sun go down makes for a very pleasant experience. Staff were attentive and friendly. Perhaps just a little bit high on pricing but nice for special occasions.
