Review Josy Cafe - Auckland

We usually go there fir fabulous Bun Cha, but today tried Best Ugly Bagel with cured salmon and Egg Benedict with potato gratin. Both were great and didn’t leave me disappointed. Flat white with almond milk was nice too, creamy and coffee beans didn’t taste burnt.

I go to this place every Thursday. A regular that my Boss and I go too. It's funny when the waiters know your order, that means it's time for a new place right? But why go somewhere else when you know the food is amazing? Lately, I've been ordering Beef pho, a classic Vietnamese breakfast dish for the cold weather. I also love the Asian omelette too. Another amazing dish. The menu has a variety of different food to choose from. Here are recent pics of our Thursday morning breakfast with my orange juice and a single shot of espresso!

One of the most underrated cafes in Auckland. The service, the food is 10/10. Always feel welcomed and they remember you. Thank you 🙏

This is the most delicious meal I have had in a long time. You can feel the care and attention placed into every detail at Josy, in the customer service, the coffee and menu. If you are thinking about coming here, DO IT.

This place has a massive menu! It’s brunch and Vietnamese food. I had the creamy mushrooms which comes with a poached egg and rye toast, I ordered a side of bacon. My partner had the omelette filled with prawns and chicken. Very generous and tasty. Huge portions! Coffee is All Press and very good. Great to find a place with good coffee and food. Also quite spacious with lots of outdoor seating covered by the wind and indoor tables. Great for families and groups. Definitely will be back. Thanks very much.

Isn’t it lovely to find a cafe where you can simultaneously get an egg Benedict or French toast and a bowl of pho or pad-thai. A sweet mix of East and West - only if the food is authentic of course. I came in thinking I’ll have a simple sandwich but was tempted by the pho - it didn’t disappoint. The pho had a rich stock filled with a refreshing aniseed fragrance - perfect for a winter day. I drizzled some lemon over the soup and it brought out all the right aroma. I would happily have another bowl. Loved it.

What a spot! Great service and fantastic coffee, made possible by their expert baristas. They’ve done a really good job with the fit out. All the greenery, both inside and out creates a really nice ambience and I’m all for it. Enjoy! Hamish Dorrington Kakapo Business Sales

First time, should have come sooner. Really like the ambience & vibe here. Not a vegan but tried the warm vegan salad for lunch and it was sublime, delicious, worth every cent. Will definitely be back & recommend it to others.

Standards have slipped since its change from Occam...prices have gone up, coffee cup has shrunk, food and service is ok. We've tried it twice since it changed to Josy's and I doubt we'll be back.

A cute cafe just on the corner of williamson ave, the hash cakes were good but mushroom just ok! coffee was a bit too sour for my taste, friendly service as well!

Our waitress explained that the cafe name ‘Josy' was a combination of the owners’ names, Johnny + his daughter Daisy makes Josy. Super sweet! We were relieved to find that this wasn’t a place that required wrestling for seats or yelling over each other to be heard. Mind you it was no ghost-town either - the surrounding 5-6 tables had their inhabitants but the sound absorption in Josy just seemed to be better than a lot of its café contemporaries. The menu boasted a rich variety of brunch items with splashes of Vietnamese flavours - the pho (pronounced “fuh”) according to Phil was the bomb.com. Spoilt for culinary choice, we resolved on the spot that we would be back again to try out their interesting range of dishes. Great flavours and plating too. Watch out Josy - we’ll be blazing a trail to make your space a crammed and noisy place in no time.

Check out our individual food reviews here: husk.co.nz/lunches/josy-cafe-september-2018

I was up for a croissant and green tea when I came in only to find out they were out of croissant! Still, I enjoyed a very hot cuppa tea that just suits the weather.. plus I just really love the tea pot! wait staff were very friendly and helpful.

The menu looked incredible. However the wait staff ignored us for half an hour. After getting us coffees and giving us a “couple of minutes” to decide on food. We were trying to make eye contact the entire time, while watching other patrons be order and receive food. After being ignored we decided to pay for our coffees and let the staff know why we were leaving. Expecting that they might try to offer a resolution, they instead put the coffees through, apologised and let us leave. Such a shame as we were really looking forward to eating here.

Was the Occam cafe, new management and they did renovation aswell. The place is looking more green and opens than before. The good thing is my fav drink still there. Honestly, Love their hot chocolate... One of the best hot chocolate place that people shouldn't miss out!

We came to Josy without knowing anything about it except it had replaced Occam recently. I'm so, so glad we did! The coffee was excellent, and the food was phenomenal. Creamy mushrooms with parmesan had the perfect toast pairing (you need something sturdy, obvs) and my friend declared the big breakfast to be the best she's ever had (and she's had a few). Service was friendly and the cake we took away was also delicious 🙌 thank you!
