Got some really good pastries! Been a regular ever since i found them, worth it. The owner is a genuine guy, very friendly!

Nice food, specially you will get nuts with the nougat, far the best ever. The waitress spoke french but she kept the doors wide open in a cold winter morning. I asked closed them, she only closed one of them. I had to drink my hot chocolate very fast before to get a cold. Poor decoration, seems they rushed to put a few objects representing France including a faded colored Chocolate movie poster. Maybe I will buy the nougats by post only.

The team at Phillepes chocolate do amazing pastries. Today I sampled the blueberry danish and the almond croissant with frangipani filing. It feels as if you take a trip to France and the owners have mountains of experience in patisserie. It doesn’t get more authentic than this! Sterling Arnet Kakapo Business sales

Great little local place. Interesting, and creative chocolate flavours. Top tier pastries. Used to have amazing chocolate sculptures. Maybe one day again! Good coffee. Parking is a little difficult as you will have to go on one of the side streets but it def worth visiting this little hidden gem. 😉

I bought some of their chocolates at the French Festival. Oh, they were absolutely yum! The staff at the counter was very polite, friendly and had some really good customer service skills. These gourmet chocolates were made with care! Wish I had bought more. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit their store to buy more! :) Cheers

Had a great experience for Philippe’s. They made me a croquembouche for a 30th birthday. They were very responsive and easy to deal with, and the croquembouche was delicious and looked amazing. Would recommend for any special occasion.

Really nice place to visit, pastries & coffee on point. Filled Croissants nice but would benefit from being warmed slightly in cooler months. Overall a great visit though, will visit again.

Fantastic coffee, great food, lovely staff, just needs some vegetarian or vegan options.

This is the cafe discovery of the winter ! Don't be put of by the look of it from the outside, get in and get stuck in to the fabulous selection of cabinet food on offer. And yes the lads and owners are French. The handmade chocolate selection, made next door are delicious. Coffee by Vivace Espresso, lovely. My favorite, the custard flan, go on my son, back for another piece !! My Saturday treat on my to my regular 11am meeting !!

Favourite place to get pastries and desserts! Definitely recommend to all.

Merci for existing in my life ... :) I love it, MAGNIFIQUE !!!

I went here for a coffee recently and it was the worst tasting coffee I've had in Auckland. Beans where over-roasted to horrible burnt flavour; completely unacceptable to serve to paying costumers. Good service though.

Delicious pastries! Lovely people! First discovered at the Britomart markets and will be back!

I <3 Philippe's croissants! I <3 Philippe's croissants!

An awesome little shop. I like their filled baguettes. Obviously liked by lots of other people, as they often run out!

Food: 3/5
Service: 3/5
Overall: 3/5

So happy to see them in the Food Show. I tried their palmier and almond croissant. Palmier was huge and crunchy but almond croissant was a bit soft probably because it was sitting there for hours already but still it was pretty buttery.

Very rude french lady at the counter on 23rd june 2019 around midday time. The butterfly pastries were finished asked if they had any more. She simply said no. I asked if i could have a box so i can put my pastries in (was meant for a gift for a friend) she simply threw me the box and didn't ask if she could help pack my orded. After i had paid she simply walked away from the counter without saying a "thankyou" or "have a nice day". I was left there asking myself is that it? Can i take my order now?

Friendly service. Pastries are delish. I’ve tried their Apple Turnover. Coffee is average.

I would recommend if they could keep their pastries in a warming cabinet or something. Should have asked if they could heat up my apple turnover. (Unsure if they could)

I’ll probably give a 3.5/5 for now, and will be back to try their chocolates and other pastries, before I revisit this review. :)
Lovers of all things French, rejoice! As the ultimate French pastry aficionado, I couldn’t pass an opportunity to attend Le Renault French Festival last weekend in Auckland which brings all things French together, under one roof!. The biggest highlights for me was of course the food. Whilst I’ve heard of famous pastry shops such as Paneton, Crepes shops and Patisserie Vaniyé in Parnell, Philippe\’s Chocolate & French Pastries shop in Grey Lynn was a great find as I managed to score a dark chocolate brioche, beetroot ciabatta and pistachio danishes!

Having a bit off a celebration, getting the La Brescia, Opera, Le Breton and a box of chocolates as well. They were all delicious, service and ambience is standard. Not giving a 5.0 as I really wanted to try the French Flan but there has been none every time I go in but fair enough if it's a business decision not to make it but it's still advertised on their website.

I go regularly during morning weekend walks.

- They have the best pastries in Auckland.
- Coffee only draw back.
- Chocolates great too, but bread and pastries are amazing.

Being a regular customer here, the staff, food and coffee never lets me down. Super friendly and attentive every time, pastries and coffee always so good, it gives this place such a nice atmosphere to be in. Always the same experience every time. You guys are awesome! 😊

Food is fantastic. A good variety of breads, but wish there were more. Pastries are the best in Auckland. Sweets look amazing and I'm told by my partner they taste great, but they like to put nuts in most things, so that counts me out. We love to pick up some bread and danish's from here for a weekend breakfast or lunch. Bread is so flavourful it can be eaten on its own.. Great service too, people here are friendly and helpful. The only thing I don't like about this place is the coffee, wish they'd learn to make it better.

Little french chocolate cafe on the main road, great north road. What stood our here was definitely was the staff and service which was excellent. Picked up some coffee, chocolate croissant (tri-croissant) and ham cheese pizza roll. Coffee was average, croissant not impressive (being a french cafe) and pizza roll was very good.

Wow! Love love love everything in Phillipes! The pastries oh the pastries are to die for!
The handmade chocolates and desserts look and taste divine!
It does not get better than this!

Delicious French pastries. Friendly helpful generous staff. I tried speaking some French but failed. Got some free samples. Also got a nice flat white coffee.

Their danish pastries are to die for!!! I've been absolutely hooked since I tried one back in 2014. I try and go there whenever I get a chance to because they're just so bloody good! lol

This place is right opposite our favourite yoga studio so perfect to chill out and inhale the passing car fumes. I love their filled baguettes which are under $10 and tasty; ALL their cakes and most of their pastries. Coffee is reasonably cr@p but better than the average coffee in Paris.
Mind you, I only order a half strength trim latte (or muddy water) so what do I know?

I used to always get their pastries at Farmers Markets by Britomart, until I found out they have their little cafe just by my work! Love going there, staff is really nice and pastries are amazing. My favorite would have to be the Almond one, coffee is great too.

Best French pastries in Auckland. The new pies and pizZa are yuuuuuuuuuuuum! Many many little desserts are Q and yummy. Of coz the chocolate! Handmade is handmade! Taste perfect! Also they do homemade jam and spread! The chef in the shop must be top of the top! Master chef!

Of all the French coffee shops and patisseries in Auckland, this is my favourite, it's where I go when I'm homesick and want a perfect espresso and croissant breakfast. The homemade chocolates are gourmet and perfect for gifts.

Had their chocolates which reminded me of the handmade ones you find in gourmet shops. I highly recommend the opera cake which is best ordered with a hot or cold drink. Would definitely come back to this place again in the future

Coffee is not that great but the sweets are yuuuuuum!! The lady behind the counter is French also so that makes it that extra 10% nicer. Yum!

Best French pastry eveeer!
And I'm French!

Really crispy and soft buttery croissants, thank you for bringing me home guys!
I like their strong coffee from Three Beans, nicely strong but not bitter, that's great. They come out really quickly, and that's a plus because I always stop here on my way to work, so bit of a rush.

Luky I catch the bus because I reckon parking is a bit of a problem here, but there is a bus stop just before Philippe's.

Picked up a few treats for an impromptu picnic on the weekend. I was rather hungry so went for the French patisseries rather than the chocolates.
The good - had one of the best coffees for a long time, smooth and well balanced.
The bad - I was disappointed in the selection on offer, there were barely any savoury items (1 lonely quiche in the hot cabinet) and a few loaves of bread. As for the sweet items, in particular my all time favourite almond croissant, I found it a bit dry and barely any almond creme in the centre.

Will have to try the chocolates one day!
