Review Nakhon Thai - Auckland

Food is superb, very tasty and large portion for the cost. The restaurant is not large so tables can be limited, best to book for dinner. Takeaway service also available. The decors are nice, traditional so you get the feel of Thailand. Fried rice and pad thai are the recommended dishes, tye curries are good as well. Alcohol is also served here and BYO is allowed with a cost. Lots of parking and near other shops like the supermarket and Asian stores around the Wairau Park.

Good selection of Thai dishes at reasonable prices. Service was efficient and friendly though couple of starters we ordered seemed a little cold but still tasted ok. Good size portions and left felling content. Parking can be a little challenging during peak periods.

The owner is beautiful and extremely good service,food is absolutely amazing and reasonably priced!! Highly recommend!!

Came here after a movie for a nice dinner. Lots of choices on the menu which was good (but made my decision difficult). The staff was friendly and the food came quickly. Had the Massamun curry and the serving size was very good. Prices were reasonable a well. Would definitely come back to try other things on the menu!

I do not know thai food that much and all I know is the famous Pad Thai. But last valentines day 14th February 2019, I wanted to try something different. So I decided to eat at Nakhon Thai as this was recommended by my friend. Got no clue what to order and asked the waitress for the best seller and she recommended this! Absolutely delicious!! Since its unlimited rice, i got to eat a lot of rice because of the food we ordered. sorry i forgot the name of the food. all i know is the pic on the left is with coconut and the pic on the right is somewhat sweet and sour!!

Good service. For a Thai restaurant I'm happy that they are not stingy with their rice as it is unlimited rice instead of $2. Too bad for me that this restaurant is far :( pricing is also okay ish.

Best thai we’ve ever had!! Would highly recommend. Everything from the entrees to mains and sides was absolutely delicious. Don’t normally do reviews, but that meal absolutely deserved it

Been here quite a few times. Lovely food and good sized servings. Love the Pad Thai. Staff need to give you enough time to look at menus and eat entrees before wanting to take main orders. Seem to try and hurry you. Overall good restaurant

Very nice vegetarian Kway Teow<br/><br/>

I have been here in the past and it was good. This time all of our dishes were appalling - weak, unrefined, canned flavors, meat pieces like dog food chunks. <br/>Whoever was cooking is not a qualified Thai chef. This was worse than food-court Thai. The service was nice and friendly, but never again will I come here and pay restaurant prices for this sort of food.

The food was normally ok here. But my last visit i received raw chicken. They refused to reimburse me

I went here quite some time ago and was happy that now Thai is represented in the Link drive area of North Shore. Before there where Japanese, Vietnamese, Indian, Malaysian and now there is a Thai restaurant. I came here on an early lunch time probably around 11:30 – 11:45 am so there were a few diners.

Really enjoyed the food we got the garlic pepper stir fry the chicken yellow curry and chicken cashew nut stir fry all was very tasty and presented well restaurant was clean and stuff was friendly definitely would go back.

Our family has been going to Nakhon since we moved into the neighbourhood 7 years ago.  Unfortunately tonight's experience was particularly poor (it's been declining over the past 12 months).  There were no smiles or welcome, just somebody on the other side of the counter who looked like they didn't want to be there (the same young lady serves us most times and my wife and I have both noticed that she's often quite 'moody').  I ordered one single take-away dish.  I asked if the lady could bring it outside by the door where I would be standing, as I needed to watch my car so others could get out.  The lady insisted she was too busy to open the door to give it to me (even though I was going to sit at their outside table) and said to come back in 15 minutes.  After 20 minutes I went back in.  After another 10 minutes of waiting I then asked how long the food would be as it had been 30 minutes.  She walked away without even responding to me and came back with the food.  I asked how long it was sitting for and she just walked away.  That was it!  Some people shouldn't be customer facing.

Food is lovely. Probably one of the best Thai places close to me. But... The service from the staff member I was served by was quite rude to me. Then when asked for my order, didn’t know what I was talking about. I haven’t been back in a while but hoping to see some smiling faces if this is resolved for next time

The restaurant gives out vibe like you r actually in Thailand with its attentive decorations!<br/>I ordered sarung prawn, gang dang and pad thai! Food were really delicious. Pad thai was a little on sweet side but still really good! I ordered prawn cake in the first place but found out 30 mins after I placed my order that it has ran out. Service needs big improvement as FOH staffs were not as attentive to order of customers. Table that came after got served first. There were time when they were standing at the counter instead of quickly clear out the table that already left. Food was great we had pad Thai and salad. Waitress wasn’t very friendly nor attentive. Worst part was the waitress wiping table mat one after another customer which was quite disgusting. I would expect new clean table mat not where someone’s fork and knife touched and even found rice pieces from previous diner.

Ordered a pad Thai with beef, a small Tom yum soup and fish cakes. Average taste, with the pad Thai a little bit soggy and a bit too sweet to my taste.<br/><br/>

food was lovely and plentiful had to wait an hour for it tho, wasnt too busy but a few takeaways,  should have ordered an entree to stave off hunger pangs

I come here so often, whether it’s for takeaway or an actual meal in, and I’ve never had a bad experience!<br/>I love their Pad Thai (which can be a tad pricey for what it is but it’s amazing!) and my favourite is their Curry Puffs! The fact that they use Kumara instead of potato makes it tastes absolutely amazing! Also highly recommend their green curry!

Value for money. Been twice and LOVED the Tom Kha Gia🤤 both times. Good service, cheap drinks (cocktails are light on alcohol but I don’t mind as I wouldn’t want to drunk drive’) and everything I’ve and my companions have tried has been yummy.

Went to this restaurant for the first time. Everything was going well until people of the same culture arrived as the people serving. Even though we where there for longer we where not served. Ended up leaving as it appeared if you are not Known to them you will be served last. Disgusting for this day and age could not comment on the food as it was impossible to be serves

Came here for lunch on boxing day after all the shopping madness, staff was friendly and prompt. Ordered their pad thai and green curry. Food came out fairly quick. I found their pad thai to be so-so but their green curry is definitely a winner! They're affordable too during lunch time. Will definitely come back again to try more of their menu.

Just awful. Slow service and the food was nasty.  When I asked for a receipt I didn't get a warm reception. I will never set foot in there again

We arrived and were welcomed with a lovely Thai smile! The service was excellent.<br/><br/>The food was great... The menu was vast with lots to choose from. <br/><br/>We had Pad Thai, Mussamen Curry and Prawns with Veges. All were delicious. <br/><br/>They also have Roti on the menu and it was very good! <br/><br/>All meals came with complimentary rice served for you at the table. <br/><br/>A great little place for a good value Thai meal. <br/><br/>

Ordered takeaway and two of the dishes were chicken instead of the beef we had ordered. 2 of the 4 dishes we ordered were 'ok' . The other 2 were awful .. very little chicken and very thin runny curry sauce. Won't visit there again.

I had lunch today at Nakhon Thai and the place was small and not very cozy, but clean and looking good.<br/><br/>Service was very good and the food came to the table quick and looking fantastic.<br/><br/>I had a beef thai noodle soup, yum, and my friend had the special house rice, and we both loved our food.<br/><br/>Good choice to stop for luch if you work around or you are doing shopping.

A wonderful setting for a light lunch or a laid back dinner. I enjoyed a fantastic chicken green curry. Presentation A Geade. Service beilliant. The freshness and flavours were definately exceptional. A.definate must to all.<br/>Well done

<br/>2nd time here and still as good as the first time. The spring rolls and prawn on toast are good starters. I had the Pad Thai and Tom yum Goong for mains and they were very good. We use to drive to Botany for great Thai food, glad we found one close by. <br/><br/>My wife enjoyed her beef dish as well and the fried rice by my son. We'll be back for sure! <br/><br/>

We came across this little local restaurant - food was superb! We had entrees that were delicious then moved on to the main. We recommend the yellow curry and the macadamia chicken - absolutely delicious. We will definately be back!

A really nice cosy Thai restaurant. The atmosphere is really good, and the food was great. I ordered a chicken fried rice, and the portion size made me full, and the taste was on point.
