Review Satay Noodle House - Auckland

Seen this on a YouTube video and added it to our list of places to check out. Absolutely worth it!!!!! Big wide space with ample seating. Nice light decor with some gorgeous family history stories shown. Friendly, fast service. Noodle soup broth is delicious!!! Braised pork belly was so soft and sumptuous and the lemon grass chicken had great flavour!! Decent prices so can make it a regular!! Highly recommend a visit to this restaurant!

The food is delicious and fresh! Highly recommend the satay chicken!! Dim sum also delicious. Very much a self service restaurant get your own water and order at the counter. Very much value for money! I had enough left over for lunch the next day!

Me and my good friend visited for lunch last month and the place was relaxing and cool. I love how they included their humble beginnings. The food was... Oh, we should have ordered just one dish on the menu. 😅 Yummy food and generous serving for the price. We had to ask for a take away container coz it was just too much our tummies could take. Would be back to try more of their dishes.

Tried this restaurant for the first time. Ordered via phone call. Customer service was awesome. Picked up and it was hot, nicely packed for me to pick up. Beautiful layout. Super clean too. We ordered 3 sets of 6 prawn twisters, combination fried rice, seafood soup, Pad Tai, braised pork belly with rice. I liked everything. I didn't love it..but I definitely liked it. And I would go back. Hubby liked it too. Everything was fresh. It is quite pricey too. But yeah would definitely go back

I used to eat here all the time when I lived in Takanini for 14 years. Now that I live in the city it is a privilege I am rarely able to enjoy. Their food is awesome. Thanks Bun and Team. Still the best Chicken/Sausages Fried Rice! 👍😀

First time ever trying these guys ever since following on Instagram for a good 6 months. Currently in level 3 so had to takeaway, was bun (the owner) who came to the door with my food. As always just like on his Ig very friendly guy with great customer service skills. Time for the food ratings. Chicken Supreme Satay. Very delicious and rich which I liked. Ratio with rice noodles, chicken and veggies was perfect. 5/5 Wontons. Crunchy, light and filling was tasty. 5/5 Chicken Curry. Spicy, tender meat and everything I expected of a curry. 7/5 Braised Pork Belly. Now I'm very fussy with my pork and how I like it. Was a bit tough where as I love my meat tender. However the sauce is good. 4/5 Taro Milk Tea. Delicious 5/5 Next time I will definitely be eating in, I highly recommend. Authentic Cambodian food.

Long time insta follower, my boys & I needed to try this place sooo. We had a free Sunday so Road Trip it was (from the West😊) Awesome friendly staff, welcomed with a shout out & then the decision on what to get. We definitely had to have the wontons ✅ & they didn't disappoint wow so yummy.... I had the garlic chicken from the first mouthful I was in heaven, the boys had lemongrass chicken (so good) & chicken curry (this was out the gate) we will be back as we all need to try the satay dishes. Oh & don't forget definitely try the ice coffee ❄️☕omg that was so good, even took a couple for the road 😁😁

I have never dine here before, so wasn't sure what to order, I ask what they recommend and was told the green stars on the board are popular with other dinners, so I started working my way through the menu & haven't been dispointed. The servings are generous, & it like your mouth & taste buds are having their own little party with each portion that goes in your mouth. Quiet, friendly atmosphere & service , I can go on & on about Satay Noodle House, but will let the photos speak for themselves.

I went to Satay Noodle House yesterday. I had a Thai red curry and it was so delicious. Fresh vegetables and chicken were great. The portion of food was generous.

Amazingly delicious food, super friendly staff, generous food portions at a more than reasonable price.

Pretty good, I think Cambodians run it. The seafood noodles were good and the curry on rice was good.

As always, when my family and I come back to NZ for holiday, we always stop here and eat. This place has not failed us yet. This will continue to be a normal ritual. The food is lovely and the service is good.

I haven’t seen my parents for almost half a year due to lockdown. Coming from a Chinese/Cambodian background, I’ve been craving my mum’s braised pork belly so thought I’d give SNH a go - it did not disappoint! Not as good as my mum’s but was still worth the 25 minute drive, wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. The wontons were absolutely divine (should have ordered more) and the lemon grass chicken was pretty good too. The pricing is quite reasonable for the amount of food, highly recommended!

They have the best dishes.. every time I go it's the chicken curry on rice that pulls me in.. also love the chicken chow mein with cashew nuts.. the service is also amazing, always recommend this place to friends and family

We had Chicken Pad Thai and Beef Brisket Stew with Rice. It was divine, would recommend eating here and try these yummy dishes. Also great service.

This restaurant is SO good. The folks here are very friendly, lovely people and I would welcome them into my home anytime.<br/><br/>We usually come here two or three times a month and always end up getting (along with other things) the beef or chicken satay dishes and chicken satay burgers. They are EXCEPTIONAL.<br/><br/>More restaurants with your quality are needed in Papakura. <br/><br/>Keep up the hard work team!

Love this place and love the food

I mean.... First time eating from this place tonight and I’ll be honest - the hype caught my eye. However I found the food not as flavourful as I hoped but that doesn’t mean it deserves a shit review. No. Instead, I’ll be back to explore more from the menu!

I've been coming here since around 5 years ago and it just gets better. The food is one of the best in Papakura. The noodle soups are never a bad option and the fried rice doesn't disappoint either. The service is always amazing too! The last time I went there were a few loud people outside but wasn't too much of a hassle. Will return!

I had been dying to visit this place as their dishes on Instagram looked so good but I’m kinda disappointed by the food. <br/>The staff were all really friendly and polite but the food took about 40mins to be served. <br/>As shown in photos, combination wet noodles & pad Thai both with egg noodles. The noodles seemed more like a thin udon noodle, almost like a pasta, the flavour did not resemble traditional Pad Thai and the combination noodles sauce was watery. <br/>The satay sticks were nice. Wish I had bought more of those instead however, I would be keen to try different dishes from here if anyone has any recommendations.

This place has #bigportion and #friendlyservice and the food taste like #homecookedmeals . We tried the dry and wet stir fry rice noodles and pretty good, but personally for me I should have asked for the meal to be a bit spicier.

Cant get enough of this place.  The satay sauce is amazing and the Thai dishes equally delicious.  Staff are friendly,  the dining  room is clean and tidy,  food is awesome.

Best food you will ever eat. Their fried rice is bomb and all of there signature dishes are amazing we stay about 20min away and we will 100% make the drive out no matter what just delicious you can't order wrong

Found SNH via a friends visit on Instagram, the food looked so good i had to follow their page myself. After following for a week i couldn't not try myself and finally drove out to Papakura. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! <br/><br/>It was well worth the drive, let me tell you. GarLIT Chicken is delicious! Chops - sooo good. Won tons also amazing - Full of meat and so fresh! SAtay sauce is very peanutty and tasty! Big portions, fair pricing and yummy food - what more could you want?<br/><br/>We've referred so many friends and family and they all love it too. The atmosphere is nice and appealing, good standard of cleanliness and staff are friendly. IF you follow Bun on Instagram too you can drool over all the yummy food and even enter competitions. <br/><br/>Highly recommend you check Satay Noodle House out!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! first timer, I ordered the wonton egg noodle soup, Cambodian curry and the satay chicken "dry" noodles. Each dish was delicious. Worth every dollar 👌🏿

Came here today for lunch.. ordered Cambodian chicken curry, satay chicken roll, wonton noodle soup.. the food was on point.. so good and tasty.. the curry was spicy as for me but was just right for my partner, he loved the wonton soup 😋😋😋

Best place on papakura ! Def a must visit if in the area and if you love satay ! Have been coming here for a while now and i never get sick of it ! So yummy !

Saw the proprietor and his restaurant on tv recently and decided I should check it out. South East Asian flavours with mainly a Cambodian bent, I tried the braised pork belly which I found rich and flavoursome, the gelatinous meat had nicely broken down. Unfortunately the 2 items I really wanted to try, the Cambodian chicken curry and the (fried) Vietnamese spring rolls, both weren’t available during this lunch period. Will be keen to visit again.

The store looks lovely with a very open and friendly atmosphere. The staff always meet you with a smile and the portion sizes are so generous I had enough food to feed myself, one friend, myself again and a different friend all from one meal. The satay chicken fried rice is my favourite.

Been meaning to check this place out for a while and value for money it’s 10/10. I ordered the Malaysian Dry fried noodles and the prawns were huge! The satay was a little too sweet for my liking but still yum! Definitely a take to come back!

Had the famous satay noodle chicken soup tonight ordered extra chicken and was pretty disappointed with the amount of chicken in it if that was extra chicken.<br/>Taste was ok not very satay though.<br/>Big spring rolls were the highlight they were very nice.<br/>My wife got the seafood soup and was not a fan <br/>Sadly won’t be back as I’ve heard so much good stuff on social media about the place.

After following on Instagram, we had the chance to finally try SNH. Ordered the Chicken satay noodle soup and Vietnamese Spring rolls - both were very tasty and full of flavour! Soup portion is massive!! Look forward to visiting again and trying more dishes 😋

If you have a sweet tooth then the satay is for you. Not my cup of tea but was still good nonetheless. Will have to try the other dishes next time. Service is great and friendly staff

Ordered satay chicken and braised pork belly with rice. Food was good but could be better. The satay sauce was a little too sweet for my taste. And the pork belly was average.

Discovered SNH via IG ad , this place is awesome! I work in Drury and eat here once or twice a week now , food is amazing, hardest part is trying to pick which one I'd like to eat, cause there's so many gems. Shout out to the staff , always friendly, service is top notch. Cheers Turei

Tasted weird the noodles. We got beef noodles and they tasted odd. I'm a big fan of noodles and felt like some, when I tasted these I was disappointed. I still ate it though and my family seemed to like it. Its edible not enjoyable

We come here often and usually takeaway lunch. Really love the food, great flavours and really affordable. The room atmosphere is a tad gloomy but there are lovely pictures of Cambodia along all the walls. Great staff, the main guy is always friendly and ready to help.

I tried the veggie satay noodles. It was not a bad taste but pretty basic. It was just frozen veggies, satay sauce and white unseasoned noodles. The decor is more like a cafe. It was pretty cold in there too. I won't be back

My family and myself have been eating their for the past 12 years and absolutely love it. The chinese sausage fried rice, satay chicken, chicken chow mein and beef all soup are family favourites. Like that they put condiments (eg soy sauce, chilli flakes) on the table. Staff are always smiling and create a welcoming and home-like feel.

BEST SATAY BURGERS I HAVE EVER HAD!!! RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY! PRICING IS REALLY AFFORDABLE AND WORTH THE DELICIOUS FOOD! 10/10

Sorry but this place was just not my taste. I hate to dislike any eatery place as i know everyone has their own taste so this review only applies to my personal liking. Maybe it was what I ordered but the flavours was just not nice for me. Overall I will one day go back and try.

We eat here regularly and always order the Satay Noodle Soup, which we love. it is ALWAYS exactly the same every time. I've had satay chicken on rice but found it too sweet for my liking. Why would I ever want anything else but the soup though - it's delicious! Fast, fresh, friendly and fabulous!  Highly recommended.

Needed some quick takeaways so tried this place. <br/>Service was good, atmosphere a bit run down which is what I would expect from most Asian takeaways. The satay chicken on rice was to die for! But I found the Malaysian fried noodles and pad Thai to be lacking in flavour. I would definitely go back to try their satay noodles

Great food, friendly staffs.<br/>The chicken noodle soup tastes just awesome. I would have been much better if there is a free tap-water. But food is still amazaing. Love it.

Run far and fast. I've just had the worst take-away of my life. <br/>I got the satay supreme. The supreme meant that it was stir-fried with vegetables. It turns out, that means frozen corn and carrots. I don't even know how to describe how bad the satay sauce was. It was sweet, thick, gelatinous, the texture was horrible, and the nuts seemed stale. <br/><br/>I got the large and the portion size was what I would consider small or regular. I couldn't eat it all. But that's only because I couldn't stand to eat any more of it. I really want my money back :(<br/><br/>The staff were friendly. I wouldn't eat in there. They place is pretty dingey.

The best place to eat in papakura. Pleasant staff. Grown up here and i can safely say that this is the only place id eat out at. Plus Boon is a hottie. Good eye candy while we eat the best chicken rice everrrr

This was my first visit. It was a Friday evening and quiet and I ordered 2 dishes to takeaway. The place looked and felt clean and the service was friendly. The food was a little too sweet for my liking, but can see how this might appeal to the majority. Not a bad place, but not my first option.

Eat here on a regular basis, best Asian food EVER!!!! I always compare other Asian style restaurants to this one and none ever compare. Highly recommend the Chicken Curry and the Seafood Curry both amazing not to mention the friendly staff and clean environment. Top notch 10 out of 10!!!

I have dined here a couple of times, and the atmosphere is good. The service is very friendly. Family orientated. Always with a smile.Normally we order takeaway. The food is excellent. Can't get away from their fried rice and noodles. It's the best food I have had ever. Many can make this food, but not many succeed with the taste. Yummmmmmmm

Great service, Great food, Great menu, Great people. My family and I eat here at least once a week. You can't get any better!!!! They make special requests easy and remember your favourites. The place is soo clean and the food is as fresh and as tasty as it can get!!!

If you're ever out in Papakura, do try the Satay Noodle House. I've basically been working my way through the menu and it gets better and better every time. My stand out dish is the Satay Noodle Soup - its the best!! The guys here are super friendly and super fast. Keep up the great work!!

This is a great noodle house. A good variety of cooking styles (all Asian) at reasonable prices. The service is very quick. The atmosphere is a bit sterile but the food makes up for it.
