Visited Murder burger after long time. First time On this new location. Enjoyed the burgers and fries. Friendly staff!! Would love to visit them again. Open until late. Fresh Patties, yummy buns, great choice of shakes and Ice creams.

Love the combo. Good burgers at reasonably price. Great customer service from the guy. 5 stars just for him!

Great customer service and delicious food 🍔 🍟

Really tasty burgers! This is the double Angus beef with Boars bacon and chips, everything was cooked to perfection, would definitely recommend!
John Simmons
These guys really put a lot of effort into their burgers, which are unbelievably good!

Great burgers! Simple, tasty and generous sizes. This was ordered off Uber Eats.
Carole Curtis
Really yummy veggie burgers..pleasant staff and clean and great on nights when tired after work

Burgers are reasonably priced and are satisfyingly filling. Poutine is very much like a mince and cheese pie on chips, super tasty. Can take a long time to be served sometimes as you're waiting for all the food delivery orders to be made.

Overall a great dinner, the burger was divine, the chips could have been slightly crispier, the chicken tenders were beautiful, the chocolate and banana shake was delicious, keep up the great work

2am Friday night munchies, so got Uber eats. Wasn't expecting much at all in terms of quality. Ordered the chicken and bacon burger with a lettuce wrap instead of the bun. It was wrapped to absolute perfection like an actual burger that I could hold with my hands. Other competitors, especially the one across the road, shreds the lettuce into pieces making it impossible to eat. This tasted and looked much better. Also ordered the beats burger for my husband, he said it was excellent and would have again. Overall surprised with the quality especially for 2am.

Hey everyone i don't know about those other bad reviews but the first time I tried this burger joint it was really good burger was tasty as cooked perfect chips were also very nice too. Bit small the place that is but overall good wee place to eat. A+

Best experience trying out Murder Burger tonight. Had the grande cheeseburger, such great value, full of flavour. Great fries and chicken tenders. Good customer service, man was very accommodating.

Beef jalapeño burger is the best

Superb food! I didn’t asked that guy name but he was an Indian boy on counter and he was very sweet and polite. Kudos! I will Definitely gonna eat again 👍

I ordered creole burger and mushroom one - they are quite bland but the onion ring were crispy so it wasnt all bad. They were quite pricey for the taste - the place is clean and quick service too. The milkshake was ok!

There are many burger places out there, Murder Burger stood out because I have had it on my bookmarks for just over a year. I had a Mini Me Beef n Cheese burger and waffle chips. The burger had a beef patty, plastic cheese, lettuce, a slice of tomato and tomato sauce. I really loved it. The waffle chips were nice and fresh and absolutely delicious. Both are a must try.

To be honest I started to regret when I just stept into the shop. Not enough to say filthy but defenitely not clean. And tried the so called angus beef burger, turned out to be $1 pattie from Pak'n Save. Just go to Mc D's buy a $5 burger will be much more tasty than this $15 one

Got the jalapeño burger and chicken burger with chips. Good flavours in the burgers! Casual spot for a bite to eat. Wish the chips were hot/heated through and through. Friendly staff. Tried the homemade lemonade which I found too sweet personally - nice concept

Late night cravings on Uber eats. Ordered The big beef and egg, The melt (chicken) and cheese burger grande with steak chips and kumara chips. Burgers were basic but wholesome and filling. Aioli sauce was weak but still did its thing with the chips. Favourite was the chicken burger as chicken was moist and tender and had good flavour.

Honestly do the worst burgers in auckland. Their menu is basic, boring and uninspired. The ingredients are cheap, tasteless and bad quality for $15-20 burgers. Really unhappy with the burger I recieved, which I dont blame any staff for, instead there is a problem with the higher ups who try to cut costs and end up ruining any redeeming features of their product.
Mike
Well the burger and chips arrived ok ......but the table was filthy and had the previous diners food on it !!!....no recognition from the staff .....burger and chips average to say the least !
Vivian C
We opted for a Chicken Cranberry Burger, “Schnitzy” Chick Burger and Waffle Fries.

The meal itself was definitely not bad, the chicken was succulent and flavours were great. However, a main issue was the hygiene standard of the place; the tables were sticky, the walls were stained, there were flies everywhere and a few birds too. The aioli that paired with the fries was amazing but apparently the flies thought so too and one just dived straight in towards the end of our meal.

Nice service, very filling burgers and good location, my daughter and I had the mini beef n cheese which she really liked and I had the big beef and egg which was really good was like a home made burger and the patty had a Smokey flavour which was nice.

**Keto friendly** Burgers are on point! Have been ordering the wildboar bacon burger with lettuce wrap (keto style) and must say is better than Burger fuel, Better burger, Burger burgwr and Burger Wisconsin lettuce wrap options. Keep it up!
Lizzie
Ordered a cheeseburger and fries on ubereats on a Saturday night and it came fresh and hot. The chips were seasoned well and crispy and the burger was flavoursome and substantial. A++++

A burger franchise which I’ve only seen around Auckland, it wasn’t exactly on my list of places I wanted to eat at in all honesty. However as with most evening in Ponsonby, sometimes the bar hoping makes you craving for some oily fast food goodness.

From memory, we picked up kumara fries, chocolate milk shake the jalapeno beef burger and another burger which just escapes me. What was awesome was that the kumara fries here tasted exactly like ones you would get at Burger Fuel, Burger Fuel would be the gold standard of kumara fries for me. The burgers were moist and juicy. In terms of what was a let down, the Chocolate shake was a major letdown, it tasted like a vanilla milkshake with a faint sprinkle of chocolate powder.

Overall I think Murder burger was tasty, I’ll rank it below Burger Fuel, above Velvet and around the same as Betty’s.

Showstopper: Kumara Fries – Gold Standard

Overall Grade: B+

Went in for my first visit to this on a saturday night to grab a B.B.B. The store hygiene was bad as it was near to the closing time. The burger was Ok, didn’t fancy me as i was expecting it to be lil creamy or moist but had some delicious flavours run through. Less options for vegetarians but worth a try.

Service - 3 stars
Hygiene - 2 stars
Food - 3 stars

Their BBB burger was really bad. Vegetarians beware. The patty was just mushed up black beans, not cooked, luke warm. Stale bun, hardly any sauce, very disappointed. I took one bite and threw it out.
Foodie
Great burgers here. 🍔 Large burger portion too! Yummy for sure. Plus lots of chicken burgers to choose from.
My partner loves the late and convenient closing hours. Once ordered here at 1am 👌🏻☺️
Adarsh Chaturvedee
The staff members were really warm. They were 5 minutes away from closing time yet they served me well. The burger was 'rudimentary' but I liked the change from the regular fast food joints. It was good.
Charlotteraju
i ordered the grande cheeseburger combo. the burger to fries ratio was perfectly proportioned. the cheeseburger itself tasted more like a lamb burger to me, but service was great.
Sam Lyons
Don’t order Uber Eats from this place - they get the order wrong and then you can’t do anything about it! When I rang them they didn’t seem to care that they had ruined our order and our meal. Plenty of other good burger places around - give this one a miss
Jazz Dos Santos
Was average.

Ordered from Uber eats, the food was luke warm by the time it got to us. The burger was tasty, but rather small for the price. Tasted good but not mind blowing.

The milkshakes were terrible. We ordered a chocolate and a caramel one, and they were straight from the syrup dispenser. It was just super thick soft serve with a slightest hint of fake flavour. Couldn’t finish it.

Overall, the actual burger was decent and could go back to try another, but would definitely stay away from the shakes.

Ordered via Uber eats whilst in hospital.. love love love! Ordered a spicy jalapeño beef burger, schnitzy chick burger and cranberry fest burger with kumara chips - very filling burgers with fresh fillings. 10/10
Jeremetrius Joenald Taylor
Worst burger I’ve had in a long time. The vege burger was cold beans mashed up with a slice of tomato and lettuce. Service was terrible, we literally had a potter of sauce thrown at our table over the counter
Briteny
Great tiny little burger shop at the corner. Loved the food and staff has always been friendly. It’s unfortunate to read how things turned bad for these guys. Non the less i dont thing they compromise with hygiene and standards. All my friends frequently visit the store and love them. Strongly support the team and great service today. Keep rocking and giving your best.

Got this delivered with Uber Eats during my hair appointment, all I can really think is it was average. The poutine was so yum, 10/10. The burger however was pretty disappointing, I’d honestly prefer a maccas burger to the one I got. I expected better things from this place, but it was passable for a hangover meal when the choices were limited.
Human That Eats Food
Definitely get your money's worth in terms of portion size but other than that it's not particularly palate watering. Beef patties are hearty but the rest of the toppings are mediocre at best. Ordered the creole burger and it wasn't at all spicy and the sauce didn't sit well with me. Wouldn't go out of my way to order / eat from here again. The Kumara fries were too burnt and just tasted more sooty than Kumara which I wasn't too please about, but it's not inedible.
Josh Tearikiau
Food was awesome, Customer Service was excellent wasn't lacking in any areas! Good place, yum food and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a really good burger!
Amy Brar
Great burgers .love the atmosphere and food . Was expecting like hell but best burgers for sure .veg options are available too .staff friendly too

After hearing good things about this place my partner and I thought we would try it out.

We arrived at the Ponsonby store to see the dine in area wasn't clean - people had finished their meal and it wasn't cleaned up yet. The store wasn't busy with customers at this point.

Anyway we ordered our food - a chocolate shake, chicken cranberry burger, signature bbq bacon, chips and kumara chips.

While we waited for our meal one employee cleaned up the dining area. She only had one cloth with her so she wiped the table, the seats and then the table again.. a little unsanitary if you ask me but let's continue.

The food arrived. My partner enjoyed his bbq bacon burger, didn't have to much to say about the chips and didn't overly like his drink as it was to frothy. My chicken burger came, i had big expectations for this as numerous other joints have the same burger. The chicken was sadly over cooked and dry which was a bummer as the cranberry and cheese ratio was on point. The kumara fries were hard unsure if they were uncooked maybe?

The decor could do with an update. The picture frames appeared to be broken. Despite all this the place was pretty busy with uber eats orders after we ordered ours. Maybe we just got them on an off day who knows?

Murder Burger. When I first heard the name Murder burger , in my head I was like this place feels like the burgers are going to be super spicy or it gave me the feel it's going to be like Hells Pizza. Sounds intriguing but just never thought of trying.
Finally tried and had the "schnitzy" chick burger, poutine and my friend had the Double beef & wild boar bacon.
I really enjoy the schnitzy chick burger but there was too much red pepper and I personally didn't like that just didn't cater to my taste. Other than that everything else is good. Love the sauce combination of cheese and roast garlic aioli.

Poutine : i would give it a 3/5 as to I've had better poutine. First timer would probably love the poutine there but personally, the fries is too crispy and normally it's supposed to be just nice.

double beef & wild boar bacon : it's a two 1/3 pound beef patties and my friend really enjoyed it. With their famous cheese sauce , BBQ braal sauce and tender beef, it sure did pleased my friends hunger.

But , if you're an adventurous person like me, give it a try and who knows you might like it :)
ChefAMG
Schnitzy chick and big beef burger left both of us with much to desire on the burger front, for the price and creativity of the names sometimes you just expect more than a plain ol beef n cheese burger. No seasoning and lack of flavour
Emilyposhea22
Very disappointing takeaway from murder burger, was very soggy and cold by the time we got it. Highly recommend eating it there or picking it up asap after order.
Sunniva C Holt
Actually inedible. Sitting here with our lunch ordered from Uber Eats and after one bite or sip from each having to throw the whole lot away, it's that bad. Pretty damn pissed off right now
Travers Amoore
Really wish I could give a better score for this place. I ordered through uber eats and half my order didn't turn up. I rang murder burger, the guy I spoke to was pretty unhelpful, eventually offered to send the stuff they forgot, I accepted the offer but it never turned up. I gave it another go last night and my dips didn't turn up even with me asking to ensure everything is in the bag. Such a shame that their staff obviously don't care at all because the burger and poutine I had were quite good.
S&G Take Auckland
Ordered two schnitzy chicks today just the usual. However they put a lot more cheese sauce in there compared to the Mt Eden store so very impressed . Quick service too
Lucyeatsakld
Highly recommend the deer on shrooms burger, super juicy and mushroom-y. The vege falafel burger is definitely too dry for my liking though. Get the spicy jalapeño chicken burger if you're into your spice, it's like a kick in the mouth for the entire 20 minutes i took to eat it - takes longer because it's so goddamn spicy and I had to keep stopping to wash my mouth out with water.

I go to this restaurant very often, the food normally very good, very friendly staff, normally I order online and what I like is that they always make it ready on time.
Janet Wu
Had the beef with egg burger, Angus beef on point, forgot to ask to take out beetroot, but overall it was good.
Mum had the spicy jalepeno chicken burger, with $1 fries and $2 drink, portion was so big, $1 chips totally gave me more than $1 chips.
Worthwhile to come back again but need to find parking in ponsonby
Jonathan
Came last night to had a burger as my dinner but was totally disappointed with the service and the product. My patty was totally burnt, cheese not melted and egg was black.Girls were busy talking and were least bothered about the beef on the hot plate. Its not my first time, visited last week saturday night as well and the burger was delicious so thought of coming back but not again i guess.

I came here with a group after work and ordered a decent selection of burgers.

The restaurant is small, but very well laid out as they manage to fit a good amount of seats in there.

I cannot recall what I ordered, but the bacon was crisp, beef was juicy, and the sauce was flavorsome.
I'm glad we beat the dinner rush, because the burgers do take about 20 minutes to prepare.

The only downside to our visit was the Kumara fries, as they weren't seasoned.

Overall Murder Burger is a good place to fix your burger cravings. I expect to be back in the near future.

You get some decent 🍔 burgers here.

Location - can't get better.
Pricing - Cheaper as compared to similar burger joints.

Service - Could be faster. ( we went here when it was not busy at all & still had to wait for about 15-20 minutes to get out burgers ready)

My favourite - Kumara 🍟, jalapeño chicken burger.

Valerie Wong-Tan
Burgers were average. we dropped by on a Saturday during lunch and was promptly served. would we go back? maybe not if just for burgers as this is a bit of a travel. But if it was in the vicinity, maybe.

◻Tasty beef patties
◻Great service
◻Its really tasty

My surprised me and the kids today with a grabone for Murder Burger, now I normally get my burgers from burger fuel, was it as good as that? Better? Personally I think its slightly better!

Well today we grabbed two cheeseburgers for the kids. These were juicy, fresh and downright tasty burgers!!

I picked up the Creole, spicy food is my thing, now I was not expecting much as normally burger joints just throw chilli sauce on, but this was the opposite, its a tasty, spicy, and pretty awesome burger 10/10.

My wife grabbed the falafel burger, she enjoyed it but she said it just missed something

It was strangly quiet, which is a shame as its good, really good!!

Sophie Hopes
This is my very favorite place to get chippies. Crispy and fluffy :)
The wraps are really fresh and they use a really nice chicken which makes it feel healthy.
The staff in Ponsonby are friendly too . 10/10!

I went here today for lunch for the cheeseburger deluxe and a strawberry smoothie as I was referred by a few people & online reviews seemed good. The burgers where relatively good value but where by no means anything special the meat patty was juicy and the highlight was the sauce. Would have prefer Andy's burgers over this.

Murder burger Ponsonby.
Late review but awesome staff. Always really fresh and accommodating. Phone orders are through really fast and even a smiley face on the burger bag shows they really do like to give the finishing touch
Tim Shnaider
Always be suspicious of people who have posted 1 or 2 reviews before and now decide to write a place is awesome or not. I've decided to start sharing my opinion when it matters and the business needs to know.

Bought a Groupon voucher today (Sunday) to use immediately.

Ordered Beef Creole and Chicken Hawaiian Lu'au.

First the burgers - very average. Amazes me that something that has so many ingredients still manages to have uninspiring flavour. Decent amount of meat and other ingredients. Beef and Chicken were a little over-cooked.

I do like a lot of flavour though, many other people will enjoy these burgers.

When I turned up to collect, was told that I could not use the voucher in the weekend.
This was NOT a stated condition of use on Groupon page. Eventually the server just scanned the voucher and it was all good. Should have done that first.

Second I ordered Kumara fries that are $5.50 including a "dip of choice" according to the Murder Burger website.
$6 was loaded onto the eftpos terminal. When I said a dip was included and I shouldn't be charged 50c for it the server didn't seem to understand. Anyway she changed to $5.50 and I was on my way.

Unfortunately my $5.50 fries had an unusual taste, and was a small serving for the price. Aioli dip was tasty.

Not the worst burger experience I've had
Ian Amundrud
Burgers are fresh and made with quality ingredients. The staff here are all super friendly. It's obvious they all care about service and work well as a team. The tables were even all clean!! 5/5!!!

Just had a beef jalapeño burger and it was super delicious - the best thing was it was hot as expected. My cousin always mentioned about trying food here and finally I tried and it was really worth it. There were many customer but still got excellent customer service, friendly staff, nice & affordable price. Definitely trying it soon with new burger...
Inbortend
Pattie was chargrilled and the meat was fresh and tasty. Customer service was good too and I found the prices reasonable considering the quality
Liz
Went on a Saturday and to my surprise we got seats! I tried the falafel burger which was on point. Not oily at all. And the kumara chips really compliments the vegetarian burger well. The staff was really nice too. Only thing lacking was the time it took to serve the food. Overall it was a good lunch. Will definitely come back again to try the meat burgers!
Jsammy273
I and my friends had BBB the vegetarian burger and Chi Avo Burger all the burger were Yummy. The burger were of decent size and the chips cooked with perfection with proper seasoning. The staff were really friendly. Would definitely visit again. Cheers!

Murder Burgers have unfortunately gone the way of a flashy chain stores like macas or black. Using processed products and reducing the size of their burgers to retain the margins. The menu has had some changes not to the betterment of the food in fact the opposite really. Last night's cheese burger deluxe was really nothing more than a cross dressed big Mac. Sorry but go back to the original way you had it. You have lost a customer now.
Juanine
Went here tonite with the family. We have the chicken and cranberry, the chicken lu au, the creole and the Angus bbq bacon burgers with fries. We also shared some onion rings. The food was great, the burgers were delicious and the chips cooked to perfection. Onion rings were nice and crispy. Would definitely recommend it.
Ryan Wong
Burgers are nice but prefer velvet burger in terms of size and taste. Staff here are good and venison burger was OK, will not mind coming here for a meet up for a burger.
David Purvis
You won't find just an average burger at Murder Burger. Nosiree here you'll find only the freshest - some of the wackiest ingredients possible. I tried the double beef and wild boar bacon burger - it’s delicious, fresh from the high country and good size. I also got stuck into the Angus sirloin steak burger. Was here when they were across the road at 128a - actually I like that place better. And a big thanks to management for their forward thinking and drumming up some business through Grab One in May 2011. I think this is already 140 characters long and it still won’t let me post??
Mansi Trivedi
I had their falafel burger . I wanted to try their non vegie but the poster of the wild boar just made me stop . They say they kill in wild boars and bring meat for the burgers. The idea was not appealing at all . May they should remove that bill-board( just a suggestion) . I had a meal and it had a free refilling of l&Ps and whatever you want . Beet root , onion patty and sauces were tasting so good that i was able to eat whole huge burger (which is double the size of regular burger we eat at the mcds ) . Win-win expect for that picture of wild boar !

Let me just start if we didn't have a Grabone voucher, we would probably put a lower ratings. Since we want to be fair, as in you get what you paid for so here we go... I think we waited for 4 burgers, 4 shakes and 2 sides for about 45 minutes. For a fast food joint, that's very long. The workers were very apologetic so we did not want to be grumpy and just waited patiently. The burgers itself is okay, nothing special about it and I probably would not pay full price for it. I think I still prefers Burger Fuel.
Danny
I like the burgers, even though they aren’t that big. I like the space, even though there isn’t that much of it. I like their clever names for burgers – best ones being High Steaks and Deer on Shrooms. And I definitely like the presentation – burgers in baskets. We both ordered the Double Beef & Wild Boar Bacon, their biggest, baddest burger. Two beef patties, wild-boar bacon, cheese and BBQ sauce, lettuce, onion, tomato and gourmet relish. Even though the burger sounds like it has a lot crammed into it, it actually wasn’t that big. And I guess if it weren’t for the Kumara Chips, I might not have been fully satisfied. Their Kumara Chips were heavenly. I don’t know what they added to them (I guess it’s garlic salt) but it worked like a charm. I nearly got into a fistfight with my friend over the last few chips.

I went there on friday lunch. It was crowded and only one staff was trying to cope up with orders and making them as well.
The burger was too dry. The bun wasn't fresh and hence crumbling.
There were dust particles in 7up drink twice.
Diner8Here
what i loathe about Ponsonby is the lack of car parking. Came to this takeout one Saturday night and had the beef mini me minus cheese with egg and pineapple and steak cut fries, not bad, mind you order came out after 5-10 minutes as i was the only customer there at time. Burger kindly held together with a bamboo pin as i took this home. Always wanted to try this joint as i driven pass lots as located on busy corner sites and can't find park.
May try the bigger burgers later if brave enough..;->
Kieran
Here's how I'd rate them in comparison to their competition:
1. Burger Burger
2. Tiger Burger
3. Burger Fuel
4. Murder Burger

Nuff said.

Apparently my review has to be at least 140 characters long so I'll finish with a joke.

2 nuns were cycling down and old dusty road on the way to church. The first nun says "I've never come this way before?", the second nun replies, "it's the cobblestones".
The Anti-Man
Came to Murder Burger on my quest for the best damn burger I can find in middle earth... didn't find it. Ordered a chicken burger, the chicken breast was dryer than Gandalfs crusty lips. Got a side of the prawn basket.... pretty sure I've seen these located in the Gilmours freezers, and they'd been fried past the point of no return... I have a feeling the fryboy was playing a game with himself where he's Frodo and my prawns were the ring. Fries were okay, underseasond but hey, potato's potato right? Overall pretty average, the hunt for the best burger continues!
Kathmandu Eater
Came here on a Friday for lunch and got the beef and egg burger.
Was quite let down. The burgers are served on these metal baskets with a sheet of white paper. I found this to be rather inconvenient and cheap for placing my burger. The buns are too thick for my liking, it made my burger more difficult to eat, with fillings very hard to keep in the burger, due to the thick buns.
But other than that, the ingredients were pretty good. Nicely flavoured meat patties and good sauces. Serving presentation can definitely be improved.

So I had a grabone deal for MurderBurger, we ordered our 2 burgers and they said it would be 20 mins. Once arrived we waited another 30 mins for our food which was appalling as there was hardly anyone there.

Once we got home to eat. The burger I had ordered had no Onion rings in it, this was the reason I chose that burger. I was left feeling deflated.

I called up and spoke to someone which they took my number down and offered 2 free burgers on my number and were very appoligetic.

Went back a week later to claim the burgers and they were very good about it. The food for me just isn't my favourite by a long shot. the 2.5 rating is mostly from the customer service.

Swept past Murder Burger in Ponsonby and had to stop. It's been a few years. Hunger was well and truely satisfied. Beef and boar bacon burger for me. Chicken Avo Bacon for her. Chips, prawn basket and a drink each.👍👍👍

The first time I came here, I didn't really enjoy it. I ordered a chicken burger and found the chicken way too dry and overcooked.

I came here again tonight as my friend loves it, I ordered the cajun chicken burger and it was ok. The chicken again was so dry! They really need to change this. Perhaps next time I'll try a beef burger. The kumara chips were tasty but the garlic aioli sauce they serve with it was too garlicy for me and didn't have a smooth texture due to the chunks of garlic.

I wouldn't be in a rush to head back again as I do think its over priced (same price as burgerfuel which in my opinion is better quality) but I'd like to try it again if I'm around the area.
Susie Kwon
Absolutely love!!!
Burgers are really gourmet, natural, and big!!! Pricing is great, especially for Ponsonby!

I ordered a black bean burger (the only vegan option). However it was really spicy, but they offered to the burger for free and change the vegetarian falafel burger to vegan by changing the yoghurt sauce into sweet chilli!!! Burger was delicious and we had a very nice spot outside. Definitely would recommend if you are vegan or a burger lover!!!
Max
Had lunch here today. First off the service was really good, polite and friendly.
The burger was good and tasty.
The place is quite clean witch is good, chips are also very good and comes with Tom sauce.
The only thing is its quite expensive considering the size of the burger. $17 bucks for a combo is a little on the high side I think.
Zamily
We found the burgers at Murder Burger to be quite nice, but the bar has been set really high for burgers in central Auckland.

The location is really good and the burgers were prepared quickly. We ordered the bbq bacon and cranberry chicken burgers. We found them to be nice and made with fresh ingredients, however, compared to other burger restaurants in the area, they were slightly smaller and left us still hungry - it may pay to order some fries with the burger.

We also felt the ingredients, although fresh, weren't at the same standard as other places. One particular concern for us was the lettuce, which was a large piece of the white stalk, rather than the dark green leafy parts.

Overall, Murder Burger is not a bad choice for burgers in Ponsonby.
FOODFANATICJIMMY
Absolutely loved this place. Went here yesterday with my partner and I must say..I was very pleasantly surprised. We ordered the chicken and avo + chicken and cranberry burgers. The chicken and avo burger had 2 well cooked portions of meat. The bacon suited perfectly with the chicken and the avocado was plentiful. I personally actually enjoyed the chicken and cranberry burger the most however, as the cheesy camembert, the crispy bacon and the chicken worked magic. The only downside is that the price is most certainly a bit on the high side. I personally think that it is worth the money but I know that a few people will be put off by the pricing. I highly recommend this place so for your next night out with your mates, give this place a go!!!

We went here one Saturday night before checking out the Franklin Road Christmas lights.

I've never been before but my friends have and said the burgers are good. I ordered The Catch combo which is the fish burger. Our order took half an hour and we managed to get a table outside.

The place is tiny with only a few tables inside. I think it's best to get the food for takeaway than eating it there.

My fish burger was good. I enjoyed it and it was a decent size. The chips are also nice and the aioli was tasty. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would like to come back and try something else from the menu
Maddie
Came here a few weeks ago with my partner for a quick bite while we were in ponsonby. The service was friendly and quite fast and efficient. I ordered the falafel veggie burger. The pattie was quite flavourful, but the cumin aioli/sauce had way too much cumin in it for my liking. My partner ordered the BBQ bacon burger and really enjoyed it! I think they're pretty reasonably priced considering how fresh they taste and the size isn't too bad either. I'm not normally a burger fan but I would happily eat here again.

Ordered a burger, asked for no tomato. Was told burger didn't come with tomato. Came home to find the burger had tomato in it. Koftas where just mini potato hash browns like what Burger King serves. Wasn't offered a choice of sauces. Everything was cold (live wishin a 5 min drive) by the time I got home.

Unfortunate about Murder Burgers location but I think they definitely do the freshest burgers that money can buy, the ingredients are quality fresh and its by far the most honest representation of a home made burger , good pricing on all of their combos too #g1

My partner and I spontaneously decided to treat ourselves with burgers..could not have found a better place.. SUPERB service. Service in the Ponsonby branch of murder burger was much much better than Mt.Eden branch .Had ordered BBQ beef burger, falafel warp and kumara chips the burger was amazing and chips was AWESOME. Had also ordered chocolate milkshakes which was pretty good. Place was nice n clean, friendly staff. It’s nice little restaurant to enjoy. I'll most definitely come back again.

definitely has my vote for Best Burgers..ordered big beef and egg was really yummy.love getting kumara fries from here. I've never waited too long for my order (despite them being busy). Their prices can't be beaten for the quality of food.Friendly staff, quick service and most importantly, yummy burgers!!!Highly recommended:-)

first time great experience. Delicious burgers and the kumara fries are irresistible. very small little joint but was clean, modern and right in the middle of Ponsonby rd. We had a Chicken avo bacon with extra jalapenos and fries and a Big beef and egg with kumara fries. both were extremely filling i could barely finish mine, the buns are nice but quite crusty where as i like a softer bun. we also ordered 2 milk shakes and they had nice flavours but nothing too special about them they seemed a little airy and light. price wise not too bad.:-) from $8.90-15 for a burger and $4.50-7.sides milkshakes $5.

We had Murder Burger for the first time on Saturday night. The burgers were very well priced, with many better options compared to other burger places like Burger Fuel. I had the cheese burger, which seemed super cheap at only $8.90! It was nice but I ended up taking off the top half of the bun as there was so much bread which I couldn't eat! The cheese part of the burger was a cheesy sauce/spread which wasn't overly pleasant, I think they should stick to the classic cheese slice! My partner had the beef and egg which he thoroughly enjoyed - no complaints there! We also had a side of crumbed chicken tenders which were very tender and juicy, but super bland.

After dinner tonight, I decided to eat a burger... (I have a large stomach). I ordered the beef and cheese burger and was blown away by how amazing it tasted! Honestly, this burger was spectacular. I really believe it was the best cheese burger I've come across. I seriously recommend this place. I can't wait to come back and try more burgers!!!

, look at the photo. The burger looks heavenly and tasted heavenly too.

Tried the creole burger with Cancun style sauce, bacon and onion rings in amongst the usual burger suspects. A good burger but a bit messy and hard to get everything all in one bite (the sign of a perfect burger). Mocha shake wasn't too bad either.

We had a friendly and smiley girl who served us. We had a Treatme voucher for 2 burgers and 2 milkshakes, so it was a pretty good deal.

Between us, we had The Mushroom One (beef) and the chicken avocado burger, kumera chips, a chocolate milkshake and a strawberry one.

The burgers were really enjoyable, full of flavours and ingredients. It was rather thick, so quite hard not to be messy, dropping bits everywhere!

The kumera chips were really good as well. We had it with aioli, but those were tiny so we could have done with more sauce - probably 3x more.

The chocolate milkshake was better than the strawberry.

I love this joint. Pretty nice burgers. Tired of the normal beef/chicken burgers? Game burgers! Try their venison or the wild boar & Bacon burger. Also the kangaroo sticks. These the not novelty names. its the real kangaroo, wild boar, etc. The wild boar burger is fantastic. So good burgers for reasonable prices. The interior isn't very big or too flash. But clean and comfortable. Overall, for the experimental types, at least one visit is recommended.

Impressive serving sizes with chips that I couldn't finish in the Combo! The burger ingredients seemed really fresh and we loved the burger flavours- really different. And they had free refills so who isn't sold with that 😂. Only wish the location was bigger!

Used a Groupon for 2 burgers and shakes. Had the mango and mocha shake, ok nothing spectacular. Wasn't rich enough for me with the mango but the mocha one was nice. Burgers were a let down, bread not great and a big pet peeve of mine when you're not able to get a nice bite of all the burger in one go (it changes the taste experience!). We tried Mexican and the creole. I didn't finish the Mexican, flavours were bland, they tasted like homemade burgers but not in a good way, in a 'I could have made this at home but better'. The creole was nice I would order again. Unfortunately for me tastes I would much rather get burger fuel. It's worth a try if you like burgers you might find you enjoy them but just not for me.

Purchased a $22 voucher from Treatme for 2 burgers and 2 milkshakes. We had the Signature BBQ Bacon and Cranberry Fest Burgers. They were small but the taste of both was great. The Braii BBQ sauce was a unique taste, possibly a signature taste. The only thing that could have made the Cranberry Fest Burger better is of course adding bacon. We also purchased a side of Steak Fries, which was enough for the two of us. Our milkshakes were Chocoholic and Caramel Mocha. The chocoholic shake was just like any other shake really but the Caramel Mocha was delicious! A unique combination that I have not heard of before. Overall a good experience and delicious food. Will be coming back to try other items off the menu.

Had a craving for a burger the other day and Murder Burger came recommended and I'm glad I headed that way. Had a Spicy Chicken Burger which was really good and I highly recommend! The onion rings on the other hand were pretty average and I'd steer clear of those. I'm sure I'll be back there soon though!

Our food was great, I had the Cranberry Fest and my hubby had the Signature BBQ Bacon we were both incredibly happy with our food. The chicken was tender and the mash of flavours were define the bun was soft but sturdy. But the milkshakes? They sent us to heaven, they were amazing, the smooth caramel wasn't sickly at all it was creamy but well blended, and my husband really rated the chocolate shake he had as well. What Let Murder Burger down however was the tables were filthy, and we had to ask for them to be wiped down as did another couple.. I think the reason for this is that dine-in food is delivered in wired baskets which while quaint leave behind more mess than if served on a plate or in a bamboo/flax style serving dish..

Had chicken avo bacon, I'm pregnant n I ask the lady to make sure the chicken is well done. Never had n soft n juicy piece of chicken in the burger like this B4. I'm a fan of murder burger now. As I'm pregnant I'm craving for it again n again. Will be back.

Saturday 27th @ 6:30pm , murder burger ponsonby.
#bigfan#

I like Murder Burger.

No surprises, but here’s another great place in Ponsonby to grab a bite.

Literally the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

We visited as a group of two couples, placed two separate orders (1 for each couple) and took a seat to wait.

Over half an hour later the first order came, so we expected ours to come too. After 5 minutes we asked if ours was coming and they said another 10 mins.

Another 20 minutes later (we are now starving and have been here nearly an hour) there is still no sign of our order... Here comes the worst bit. The manager then came out and tried to lie to us by saying they had made our order and called it out, only to have thrown it away when no one answered so they'll have to make a new one. This is impossible as we were starving and eagerly watching every order coming out.

After another 20 more minutes it was obvious they hadn't even started the order so we asked for our money back and left. The feedback from the couple we were with was that the burgers were nothing special anyway.

Will never, ever return here as there are far better burger joints literally metres from here (I won't name names).

Nothing better than a fresh, tasty burger served in clean surroundings. Great menu selection available and the service is quick and efficient. I found it hard to go past the chicken burger. A great option after a few beers.

Hoorah Murder Burger is back in Central!
It was here many years ago, and I'm super excited they decided to come back.
Out of a full day burger crawl, Murder Burger surprised me the most. I got a pretty simples burger and it was delicious.
It might look like just another joint, but the meat, and bread is spot on.. Definitely satisfies all burger craving.

First time tonight at murder burger with my mate. Cool little store in Ponsonby. Dine in, Presentation- cool, in tune with the interior. Food was incredible, everything tasted so fresh and light. No effect of soggy oily taste. It was an a experience. Love it, recommended. If u order a combo, there's three selections of drinks

It is what it is - fast food. But this is fast food that is fresh - lettuce, tomato, etc and the meat is juicy and just how it should be. Fries were chunky and nicely seasoned and plentiful. Best thing for me was that I could order a mini me burger which was the perfect size... I am so over the huge towers of food that some places offer! The staff were friendly and quick, and even better all burgers can be had with optional beetroot. All good.
