Truly delicious excellent burgers, the best we've had in years. And we're not vegan, or even vegetarian! B had the Mexican, I had the kiwi, black beans and beetroot, yum :-) There was a bit of a wait for them to be freshly made, but well worth the wait, good work peeps :-)
Had the tofu smoke and fire burger at the vegan food festival in Hamilton. Amazing. My meat eater husband had the kumera burger and you converted him to vegan/begs food options. Plus I have now got a stock of fix and fog smoke and fire peanut butter!
Amazing menu variety, burger left me feeling full but not sluggish! Jackfruit burger would have benefited from greater variety in texture - but otherwise, delicious and fresh.
my first time at wiseboys wa p h e n o me n al, had katsu burger. Very yummy, tofu was crispy and presentation wa beautiful. The staff are all very friendly and the store itself is warm and inviting. Would recommend to vegans, vegetarians and general food lovers. :-)
I'm never going to give a vegan or plant based restaurant a bad review because let's be honest sometimes it's nice to have more than two things that you can choose from on a menu! I got the 'fish' burger and it was SO good! The taste was incredible I couldn't recommend that enough, the 'pieces' were Abit big so it did get messy which I didn't mind.
Abit of a wait for the kumera fries and it's more of a takeaway joint rather than a dine in but all in all the food here is amazing, staff are nice and good value for money!
I received Wise Boys as a recommendation from a colleague (who is an Omni) and loves this place. I had two burgers: The fried chicken burger and the fish burger. If I tried to explain how fresh and delicious the food was, it would be an understatement. I’m already looking forward to the next time I visit!

Great tasting burgers (which happen to be vegan) - last one I had was the chic and it tasted great even after a drive home. Quality ingredients and a business that cares about the quality of its product. Great addition to Grey Lynn. Looking forward to the next one.
can definitely say the dirty boy is the heartiest and one of the best vegan burgers I have ever had. The smoke and fire burger is also amazing, can't get enough!! Staff are also really nice and chill
Amazing burgers, fresh and so tasty you wouldn't even notice they're vegan! My favourite is the Moroccan. Their homemade aioli is heavenly, as are the milkshakes.

This is what comes to mind when I think of Wise Boys Burgers. They make vegan burgers and they are so damn delicious. I have tried most of their burgers, thanks to the Vegan Food Fair, Late Night Art and Go Green Expo events.
My all-time favourite Wise Boys combination is their Kumara and Moroccan Spiced Patty Burger with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, relish and… their yummy homemade egg-free aioli on a toasted bun.
Coming in at a close second is their Smoke and Fire Burger made with Deep fried Crispy Tofu, Fix & Fogg ‘smoke and fire’ peanut butter satay sauce, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion and relish on a toasted bun.

Made for the many that crave a dirty dish more than they probably should. Let me tell you, these burgers are no joke - the amount of flavour these puppies pack will leave you with one happy tum. Inside out and outside in, there were no flaws. Fresh ingredients, the right amount of sauce, squishy buns, making it one flawless burger. Fries were golden. And to drink it all down, a shake thicker than your moms chest hair. Bring along your meat loving friends, and watch their faces melt as they come to learn that this place services 100% vegan deliciousness.

The staff were not near as fun as those that work at the Henderson branch however the food was still on point.
The price is more on the pricey side however if you are looking for a fantastic vegan burger this is where it's at. Forget burger fuel, and skip past the sad excuse at BK and McDs (not vegetarian) this is the best company (in my opinion) for vegan/vego burgers.

I came by to grab something to eat before a concert. Everything on the menu is vegan. The place isn't very big but does have a couple of tables and a bench by the window looking into the street.
I grabbed a dirty boy and some tater tots. I ate by the window and it was nice place to enjoy a meal and people watch. I was also able to get some water while eating in. The tater tots were quite nice, as was the dipping sauce. The burger was tasty. The cheese was interesting since it was more crispy than gooey. The patty itself was a bit crumby and tasted nice with the sauce.
It was a nice place to grab a quite and tasty vegan meal.
Love this place! We go there time and time again; they're some of the best burgers I've ever eaten. Their shakes are really good, too!

Incredible 100% vegan menu of all different sorts or burgers - found out about this place a few days ago and had to go! Was very impressed with the three burgers my friends and I ordered. Plus got some perfectly cooked fries and onion rings with aioli to die for 🍟🙌🍔 so happy to have found a place dedicated to the art of the vegan burger and totally nailing it!! 💯
So very sad you changed the chicken classic. I’ve ordered the old sandwich more times than I can count. The new one with the relish and red onion is unfortunately not my thing! :-(
The Dirty Boy burger was 100% legit, totally recommend. Onion rings were perfectly fine and the coleslaw was tasty and complemented the burger without being overpowering, I'll definitely be back...

Okay, ordinarily that may be a sly remark, but this is a compliment in the realm of vegan dining. At 99.9999% of places my vege burger is a sad, dry, stale tower of disappointment. At Wise Boys the sauce is delectable and impeccable and remarkable and unforgettable and -chefs kiss- it almost erases my sad dry vege burger experiences from my memory, and promotes me to feel like a valued customer with functioning taste buds. Because, vegans, like the non vegans, enjoy enjoyable food.
My experiences here confirm to me that vegans need to stick to vegan food places because they know what we want, like nobody else does!
My foodtography does not do the food justice, the burgers are beautiful in a rustic way. An honourable mention to the side dishes too. The unphotographed onion rings in particular might have lasted a solid minute before we devoured every last intoxicating morsel.
