The smoothest gelato!!! And unique flavors that change regularly, love this place!

Veg friendly 🌱 Delicious ice cream - vegan waffle cones! Plenty of different vegan flavors that aren’t just fruit sorbets! Has GF options as well. You can choose between vegan waffle cones or compostable cups or bring your own cup. So glad I found this place!

My favorite ice cream in all of Auckland. So many changing flavors and a great range of dairy and gluten free options also!! A definite must for anyway around kingsland or the waterfront

Fantastic spot for an ice cream. Great service and decent size for a reasonable price. Could do with a little better signage but we found it non the less!

Shook to the core. Absolutely amazing ice cream. Better than duck Island by far. They know exactly what they are doing. Must try for any ice cream lover.

Love that they regularly have vegan gelatos. They are super creamy too!

Little Lato has the best ice cream!! Bestie and I popped in for a late night ice cream the other night and there was soo many flavours to choose from they all sounded and looked SO good. I ended up getting the 'espresso brownie' and it tasted so good it tasted like coffee obviously and it was sweet, it was so good. My friend got the 'chocolate sorbet' and she really liked it as-well. I love that they add those little waffle bits on top. Definitely going to be back to try the other flavours :)

Perfect little pick me up after lunch. Got to try 2 flavours before committing to my not so guilty pleasure. The flavours change daily. It’s linked up to a cafe, ended up sitting on steps outside to have in the sun.

It is incredible. Every time I come there are new and exciting flavours and I am always so happy and surprised to see what they’ve got. As a dairy free person I also love how many options are available for me! My favourite flavour has to be the raspberry sorbet it is actually delicious and I am in love with it!

Little lato is an unexpected treat in the neighbourhood. The quality of the gelato is outrageous! over the past few months I have seen so many flavours in the cabinet, there seems to be a never ending list that they make. I particularly like the mango lassi, the chocolate sorbet (who would have thought that a vegan gelato could be so tasty), and the peanut butter fudge! The whole setup is super cute and it is an absolute favourite of mine and my kids!

A little gelato shop attached to the side of Crave Cafe.

Service: 3/10
When I first entered the shop, there was no one at the counter so I had to go into the cafe to get a worker’s attention.
I had to wait quite awhile before the lady came to service me after I got her attention.
It took her a pretty long time to fill my cone and the whole process took much longer than anticipated.
She was nice and did let me have some samples though.

Food: 4/10
I got the peanut butter and jelly sandwich gelato in a cone.
It didn’t have a very strong peanut butter flavour but there were large chunks of tart jelly.
There were small, soft cookie crumbles that are supposed to represent the bread.
The waffle cone was nothing special, looked like it was store bought.
The portion was quite small and I was left with just a empty cone.

Ambiance: 7/10
It is quite a quaint and cute little store beside Crave.
It is brightly lit up and has a simplistic style with white and black decorations.
The gelatos are beautifully displayed for easy selection.
There are outdoor benches where you can enjoy your ice cream on a hot summer day.

There are a lot of gelato shops opening in Auckland which means there is tough competition. Little Lato probably wouldn’t be one of the best gelato places in my opinion.

Auckland has a lot of ice cream options now so it’s tough competition. What I like about Little Lato is the different options and variety of vegan (DF) choices. It’s great to have a late night neighbourhood ice cream place for when you get a craving. The flavours are unique and tasty and the pricing is fair.

This place exceeded my expectations! The flavour range is incredible and certainly not your stock-standard flavours. Great to see some true authentic gelato in Auckland and a company bold enough to be creative and try some funky combinations. The cafe it’s sold out of (Crave) is also awesome so great to take a trip out to enjoy lunch followed by gelato. My favourite flavour would have to be speculoos which is made out of the spread in America. I fell in love with the caramel-gingery spread when I travelled to New York and it’s the first store I’ve found in NZ to sell a speculoos flavoured product. Absolutely delicious! A must to try! A close second would have to be the banana and jam on buttered toast. This is one of my favourite flavour combinations and it’s crazy that the creators of Little Lato managed to make a gelato that tastes exactly like it. It somehow absorbs both the savoury of the buttered toast, the richness of the banana and the sweetness of the jam. It will take your taste buds on a journey I would highly recommend. Overall a great experience that I would happily drive across Auckland for.

I was so impressed with the different flavour options to choose from. Not your standard gelato you get here in NZ, it's so much better! Definitely worth a visit!

Every time a winner! The only problem I’ve found is trying to choose just one option. The flavours available always seem to be different so the choice never gets any easier! Service is friendly and helpful, and presentation effective. My favourite so far is the dark chocolate peanut butter.

Turning gelato into an event, I love the creative flavours that Little lato keeps bringing out! With flavours like Peach Beer (a garage project collaboration) this humble stall is brings me out of my ‘chocolate’ comfort zone and never disappoints!

Amazing Experience! This Gelato is the best I have ever tasted, and the flavours are so different, daring and delicious! I esp love the raspberry lamington flavour, so good I got a takeaway container - only $20! Such a treat. Had friends over for dinner that night who ate the whole lot and have been raving about it. Highly recommended from me!

The portions served to me was quite pitiful for ~ $11; the 3 small scoops filling the bottom of the waffle bowl looked quite sad in all honesty.
Flavour wise i went with their peanut butter collection; didn’t quite reach the level of rich butteriness of peanut butter as I expected. It was also quite frozen so the flavours weren’t coming through as strongly.
