Review Mamata Bakehouse - Auckland

Great cafe and quick bite food shop. Most of the products are organic. They have indoor as well outdoor seating arrangement. You can grab hot and cold drinks too. But I felt the prizes are pretty expensive as they are organic. So if your organic food lover and want to eat outside them this place to go.

Forget what you know about bagels, these are the best and have no hole in middle. Available in so many flavors like onion, poppy seed, blueberry.... so many to try

Pepper Steak Pie- Phenomenal. Crust consistent crunchy crumbly light. Pepper garnish on pie top perfect. Steak portion not generous but certainely adequate portion of meat and succulent fat cooked to tender perfection. Sauce was delicious- I usually prefer more meat and less sauce but I will say the food experience 10/10. Compliments to baker and same. Coffee Flatwhite- Interesting bean flavor. Perfect hot temperature. Silky delicious. iCoco coffee cup retains temperature well. Only the Large isn't large enough to satisfy the quantity I desire. Compliments to barista! Great service and location. Cheers

We came in for a few bagels, and survived our ratty tiff! My son had a driving test on his mind. We talked. Your bagels came in handy for a very hungry young man, after the test. The Spelt bagels tasted faintly of cinnamon, though it might have been cinnamon raisin bagels in the bags with them. Comforting and delicious fare, made with kindness. You cheered us up. Thanks.

I regularly visit Mamata . They make great coffee consistantly. Could do with a few more vegan options. My favourite is the apple raisin date cake. Always delightful counter staff and a great spot to sit and recharge 😆

There are competing rights and duties on both sides. Forcing an individual to be vaccinated is a violation of their fundamental right to personal autonomy, which informs the more specific right to bodily integrity. Basically, those rights mean every person can make decisions for themselves and what can and cannot be done to their bodies.

Relaxed kid friendly local bakery. Park down the drive if there are no parks out front

Good vibes from the people that worked here. Pies were super saucy, a little to saucy for me.

Bakery/cafe focused on good wholesome healthy food using only natural ingredients

Not as good as other bakery’s in the area (golden kit or busy oven) but does have Reasonably good tasting coffee and sweets but the pies are a no go here. Lil bit on the dry side and slightly over priced.
The lil lady behind the counter is really nice tho and is open nice and early.

Great place for vegetarians, okay for vegans. Fast service. Baking is fresh. Its next to a park thus good place to get some food and walk to the park to enjoy.

This place is a local treasure!! Since moving into the neighbourhood, we've loved stopping by on Saturdays to pick up their lovely homemade organic bagels and pies. Nice coffee and sweet staff too.

I used to quite like this little coffee shop, and went there quite frequently for their no-added-sugar date scones, which are quite yummy.
On the last trip however, I bought the worst coffee I've had in 15 years of coffee-buying. I feel bad saying it, since the girl was so nice and held the door open for me to wrangle the baby stroller out, but it was terrible. I threw it away after two sips. Don't think I'll go back again :(

Really disappointed that this once iconic bakery has gone so far downhill. Terrible pies overloaded with goo and cornflour!! Gave it another try this morning and pie was luke warm and gelatinous. Will never go back.

Nice service, but the water in the water cooler was warm, and the cheesy vege pie was too cheesy, and tasted like it was made from processed cheese rather than real cheese. Probably won't go back, especially considering the pie was small as and cost $5

A good little cafe located in what I would tag it as an organic zone with so many shops around!
They make good pies and coffees.
You can also have the salted Lychee drink here which is my new favourite.

A good place to have a quick breakfast after some organic shopping.
As someone who enjoys flavourful and elegant food, I'm probably not the target market for this bakery which appears to be a cross between a seniors yoga community hall and a 70's tearoom. If you like slices, pies and small buns tightly wrapped in gladwrap and either take-out or are not too worried about aesthetics then you will find solace here. However with so much competition nearby this unlikely vestige will need to transform to stay relevant. Having said that, the location is great and plenty of room to sit, most likely ideal for kids as well, and service was fast and friendly.

Good value coffee and wholesome food (try the date scones or the vege calzone!). Especially warm people and friendly service.

Delicious slices, good coffee and great that you can buy bagels and muffins etc. in larger amounts to go. Prices are very reasonable. Their blueberry bran muffin is superb, no skimping on blueberries! My only wish is that they open on Sundays...

Always fresh, always yummy, excellent prices too! Thank you Mamata, cool greylynn bakery.

Great atmosphere, toys for kids, chilled out and relaxed. I ordered $5 spinach and pumpkin with cheese panini, it was huge! Very yummy and satisfying.

$1.50 blueberry or chocolate bagels are good too

One of the worst bakeries I've ever been to. I ordered a 'Cheesy Spinach and Mushroom Pie' which looked and tasted off putting and contained an unidentified substance that looked like gelatin. My friend ordered a vegan chocolate cake which looked really old once she got it too and tasted dry and disgusting. I've also tried a ginger slice here before which I thought the butter tasted rancid. Sort it out Mamata!

An excellent idea to have such a bakery that serves allergy-friendly food.

Friendly service, nice location and always a nice vibe in the bakery.

However, don't go wasting your time on the organic meat pies - they're full of cornflour paste filling and very little meat. Really disappointing guys - they used to be delicious.

We love Mamata! Best cafe in town as far as we are concerned. Delicious food that's also healthy, wholesome, and tasty. Mamata don't skimp on ingredients and have great prices for the quality you are getting. Having been spoiled by European travel, we are not now so keen on the sweet and bland kiwi-cuisine that most cafes offer - Mamata has that extra umph that brings us back again and again.
