Really nice place atmosphere qas really good, got the big cup and really good portions with good flavor. We used to go to Golden sands alot but this will be new breakfast place. Price $$ good for a breakfast place. Food was a really good portion and was tasty. Customer service was excellent. Only issue was the knives weren't really sharp so it struggled to cut the sour dough bread. Still great experience. Overall rating 5/5 would highly recommend.

Really nice visit. Staff was super friendly and accomodating. My partner is vegetarian and the waiter willing offered substitutions and options that were certainly well received. They had the corn fritters and they were amazing. I had the French toast and it was perfect. It’s a culinary artistic choice to go the extra mile and make dishes look this beautiful. The effort does not go to waste. Everything looked and tasted beautiful.

First time ever trying this place and I'll tell you, the price was soo fair along with the food tasting super delicious. I didn't take the toast for my breakfast so they gave me extra everything and even had hot sauce which I was over the moon about. Atmosphere is only a 3 based on the looks me and my partner received by customers which made us feel out of place but that alone does not hinder the amazing food, price and customer service we received 😊 we will definitely return again soon 👍

It's Thursday morning, I managed to squeeze in past the regulars and get a cheery 'good morning'on my way in. The place is full of groups who the staff seem to know personally judging by the warm conversations happening. They're busy but my coffee and scone arrived quickly, and I had already been given the option to buy an extra pat of butter because one is never enough. Within minutes of walking in I wanted to make this my favourite regular cafe!

Fabulous little cafe. Food was fantastic. Loads of fresh fruit, mini panacotta and cinnamon french toast. Chilli Scrambled eggs came with great thick cut artisan bread toast. Staff were friendly. And prices very reasonable too. We will be back!

Walked in and greeted with a kind welcome into a very clean establishment. A fairly priced menu, especially when compared with the similar establishments in the area - very good portion sizes. I ordered the large flat white which was only $5.50 but was in a nice large cup, with a beautiful thick frothy top, there is ny hand for a size comparison in the picture, I'm 178cm so I have an average male hand size. The waffles were also very nice, the fruit was fresh, juicy and delicious, it wasn't too sweet or too desert-like for a breakfast waffle and again a decent portion size for only $18. Flat White Large Coffee 10/10 - just a great coffee. Sweet Waffles 9/10 - the only thing I wish was slightly more crispy waffles because the Ice Cream will soften the waffle as you eat it, but the ingredients choices were perfect. Price 10/10 - for a Cafe, you can't find similar prices in New Zealand for the same portion sizes. Service 8/10 - Just a great experience and kind people but realistically a busy environment so you can't expect a 10/10 service compared with personal waiter staff or a Michilen restaurant for example. Environment 11/10 - clearly they have an eye for interior and exterior design, plating, warmth, lighting and comfortability were all greatly considered. I will say if you're a student planning to study here then I will not recommend it as it is a small space intended for come and go eaters and coffee lovers. I will be coming back here to enjoy the food and environment, and definitely bring some friends as I'm positive they will love it too.

Really nice ambience, delicious cakes and muffins, the tea is good. Toilet was clean and fully functional. Service was quick and amicable.

I have made this cafe my local. I have 2 main reasons. The first is that I always feel welcome. Service is always with a smile... even when they are really busy... just such nice people working here. The 2nd reason is that they make really nice coffee. It is always hot, always has a nice picture on top, always perfectly made... yes I enjoy flat whites. I only need these two reasons to support a business because it is really hard to find a cafe that ticks both boxes.

quick ,excellent presentation ,quality ingredients well cooked ,outstanding ,The eggs benny with the super thick hash brown base rather than a muffin is a nice touch ,Berry Smoothie was great ,recommended, only found it cause the French Bakehouse was packed.

Amazing place with a great original menu. Food very well presented and tastes amazing. And the staff in particular the manager are doing an amazing job.

I had one of the best vanilla frappes I have had in a very long time here. The fries were nice too. Presented in a unique way. I will just say offering solo as well as tomato sauce would be nice.

Nice discovery. The place looks like nothing special from the outside but they actually offer a huge variety of food.  I got a sandwich and it was delicious. Lovely spot.

Cute little cafe! With plenty of space! So delicious and worth every cent! Been here twice now and I can’t wait to go back especially for the red velvet pancakes which is now my favourite out of all cafes I’ve been to! Super friendly staff who take care of you as soon as you sit down. Highly recommended! Such a good place to start your day off

Very nice service, dog friendly, good looking dishes. Good atmosphere and environment , the store is very near to the sea. My dog was not very quiet but everyone was nice to her.

Best chai latte I've found in Auckland! Super friendly staff and delicious food. Had the creamy mushrooms and the meat omelette, both meals were quickly prepared and beautifully presented.<br/><br/>Can't get over the chai latte - I had 2!

Ended here by chance, restaurant we planned to go to was closed that morning.<br/><br/>Place is small and was full, got a table only that someone stood up to leave as we entered. Sat on little stools which really weren't comfortable but would have to do.<br/><br/>All had toasties which were good but something I could have easily made at home and better.<br/><br/>Staff were friendly and attentive,<br/><br/>Wouldn't rush back although I would say give it a try.

Terrible service. I ordered eggs Benedict and received hard boiled eggs, I then had the meal replaced but it took so long it resulted in me eating my meal after my partner finished as we didn’t want to keep waiting to eat. When it came to paying I asked for a discount as I was really unhappy but instead I was blamed for them having to make another meal and all they could offer was taking 5% off my meal. Do not recommend, will not be coming back.

The service was very good and the food was super satisfying :) we had the eggs benedict and the omelette and two of the smoothies. Definitely recommend a smoothie they're delicious :)

This cafe has a really nice atmosphere and it is conveniently located on the main road in Browns Bay. The coffee and the breakfast options are both very enjoyable. Such friendly staff, too.

Came across this place by chance while looking for some brunch.   Quirky surrounds made for fun discussion, food and coffee good, service great, all round a lovely little cafe, will be back.

Very nice little cafe on the high street. Cosy with a nice ambience. Ordered our coffees and cake. White chocolate brownie was delicious. Very moist and tasty<br/> Looking forward to trying their breakfast menu. 

Beautiful service straight from my first foot in the door. Patient order taking as I changed my order three times in the process. Haven't yet tried the Sunday morning so we shall see how I go!

This is my little families favourite place for brekkie, brunch & coffee. The food is delicious, smoothies full of real fruit, great coffee & recommendations. Sometimes, food can be on the slow side, but it's always amazing service we are happy to wait when it is so yummy!

Lovely service, I dropped in here half an hour after they had closed and they went out of their way to accommodate me and were very gracious and friendly <br/>Not to mention the smoked salmon filo I purchased was delicious, healthy and fresh!<br/>I will definitely be popping in again, maybe not when they're closing next time! :)

Visited Sugar and Cup Cafe on Sunday morning...... Cafe was pretty full .....Not many tables spare which was a good sign. Love trying something new so went for the scrambled eggs with kale. Was delish! Coffee was really good too infact got a 2nd to takeaway...... Never seen a pink coffee machine before so that was very cool. <br/>All in all much improved on previous owners and my wife, son and myself all enjoyed our food and drinks so it's a 5/5 from me. :) <br/>

I'm still sitting here at sugar n cup as I write this review. Lovely atmosphere and warm on this chilly morning. We ordered the Red velvet pancakes and The Big cup breakfast. Pancakes were a bit of disappointment, they tasted ok but weren't fluffy, more of a rubbery texture, bacon was nice and crisp and fresh fruit was a nice touch. The pancakes cost $18.90. The Big cup breakfast was better. Eggs cooked perfectly, bacon crispy but cold other then that, yummy. Good service. Only other gripe is the coffee was warm. I prefer my coffee hot.

One of the better cafes in Browns Bay. I think it has recently opened or rebranded from the previous cafe. Clean reasonably priced, coffee good and food good, nice decor.

Lovely place to spend time with friends or only enjoy the time by yourself . The coffee definitely will blow your mind ! The food we ordered all well presented and tasted good. Will come again.
