Review Ivy & Bean Espresso Deli - Auckland

We had a great experience at Ivy & Bean the other day, a beautiful flat white and the pies were unreal! Both the creamy chicken and bacon plus the steak and cheese pies were 10/10, highly recommend trying. James Ashwin Kakapo Business Sales

Nice hot choc, and tasty pies. Not very impressed with the throw away cutlery and plate though, even when dining in. Had to ask for real cups for the hot choc, otherwise that would have ended up in paper waste too. Better than plastic, but not better than good old crockery.

A little cozy community Cafe, clean and bright. Great coffee, friendly staff, quiet on Monday. Support local business.

I honestly can't believe that you were accused of having fake reviews from close connections. I love your cafe! The way you try to be environmentally friendly is unique and an example many other cafes should follow. Your coffee is amazing and so are your muffins, I would say 10/5 stars. Definitely coming back soon!

Wonderful staff, wonderful coffee, wonderful food! A really lovely spot run by really lovely people. I've tried the coffee from both here and Wild Wheat next door and Ivy & Bean's coffee is far, far superior. Wild Wheat does great bread but the coffee is average at best and the pies, while homemade, are very gelatinous. Ivy & Bean do amazing coffee and their pies are truly gourmet with premium meat.

Great local location delightful decor coffee made to exact order some of us had 2nds! Food delish and presented well. One of our group not happy with knife but felt I understood the reasons. Great cafe to pop into or chat with friends at big table. Newspaper appreciated..more smiles from staff please...we will return keep up the good work.

Small and cute with good lunch options, meals to take home for dinner, good cupcake/muffin selection. Always has a bunch of recent magazines so can sit in window bar seats and enjoy a coffee. Next door to Wildwheat.

Lovely vibe, lovely coffee... but I’m pretty unimpressed with the dry cinnamon raisin brioche I just had. Only a sprinkling of cinnamon on top and 6 raisins. Won’t be buying that again!

Amazing service, delicious food and awesome space!

The Mayan chilli hot chocolate is beautiful and balanced. Paired with a scrumptious scone or muffin and your day is made

N.B. New owners - if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Always been a great little cafe, hope the food stays the same. Called in a few days ago & no tables outside, where hve they gone? Great for dog owners. Don’t go changing everything at once, gauge yr customers first.

Recently found this shop to have a quick drink, all the bakery foods are suitable for a afternoon tea, not too much sweety but delicious! a cup of coffee and a muffin made my afternoon so great. Service always lovely and friendly

Ivy & Bean is located in a small group of shops toward the end of Mt Eden Rd (near Wild Wheat). They have great window seats, as well as a communal table.
With a range of sweets & savouries, there is lots to choose from.
Service was friendly
On this visit we were very tempted by the pies & quiche as well as the wide variety of muffins, cupcakes & other sweets that many people were taking away. They also had a lot of regulars getting coffee.
We tried the muffins & cupcakes which were soft with good flavour combinations without being overly sweet. Also coffee of course which was well made - a double shot is standard. A great place to hang out or grab a takeaway from.

Wonderful vibe, delicious food, and friendly barista. Have tried the quiches and slices, which are amazing. And the coffees are pretty good.

Went there on a saturday morning. Great place for coffee, the cabinet food range is probably one of the best I have seen. The staff are friendly and the whole experience in general was positive.

Great coffee and the almond croissant was lovely! A very modern and cute cafe set up. One negative was that the pie was heated up in a microwave so went a bit soggy. Overall food and service was great!

Beautiful coffee, chilled ambience, and warm and welcoming staff. They use atomic beans which is not my usual however loved it. It's got great depth of earthiness and a subtle pallet of sweetness on the finish. Perfect.

I've been here several times, the food from the cabinet is pretty good... I ordered a chicken pide and was happy. The coffee I got on my first visit here was grey and watery, not sure what went wrong perhaps new staff training? or machine issue (weekend). After a few weeks I returned and tried my luck with the coffee, much better the second time around (mid-week). Decor is cute and minimalist. Would be a great spot to grab morning tea. I would say this cafe is more a food on the go, set up.

Awesome little hangout spot in the middle of Mt Eden road. Parking is a breeze unlike Mt Eden Village. The food was lovely and coffee was well made. Friendly feel and service.

I’ve been here quite a few times. Veeery nice, fresh food, amazing coffee and all the staff are very friendly. I’m always greeted with a cheery “hi! 😊” every time I come in. Glad to see the place done up so beautifully, lovely interior decorating.

Excellent coffee and great food. Freindly neighbourhood vibe. Would reccomend this place to anyone passing by Mt Eden road. Handy parking on weekends.

Really cute cafe with nice decor. Small but enough seating to go with a couple of friends. We didn't try the coffee so I can't comment but I know they use Atomic. I had the chicken and brie pide which was yummy. My dad had the lamb pie which was also good. The size was a bit small though.

The only feedback I have is if they can please not use plastic knives and forks as they are very bad for the environment. I understand they do not have a dishwasher, but even the wooden ones would be better.

Overall a really cute cafe and I would go back as I want to try their sweet treats.

Good coffee, cakes, slices, and cookies. Didn't get to try any savouries, but the salads looked great. Plating (paper), utensils (plastic), and coffee cups (standard takeaway cups) are all disposables though. Friendly neighbourhood cafe feel 10/10 👏
Read my full 🤔 on instagram: @rina.eats

Flat white & pistachio cookie
Forgot to ask the barista to leave the lid off, so can't show you the coffee itself, but can attest that the coffee (using Atomic beans) was pretty good! Would definitely recommend here for coffee rather than literally next door at wild wheat. The owner here also offered us pistachio cookies to try - nice and crumbly like butter cookies, but not oily like butter cookies usually are! 👌

Almond orange cake
The cake itself is pretty good. Perhaps they drizzled syrup or something around the perimeter because the outside edge reminded me of kadaifi 😂 The flavor was balanced with a fragrant orange scent. As far as cakes go, this was a fairly spongy regular cake - great for a dessert brunch 👌

Weetbix slice
First time seeing a weetbix slice, so I had to try it! The texture was great - crumbly and grainy, sweet but with a rich 50% chocolate sort of flavor rather than a caramel. The top layer does feel very rich in butter though, and as much as I liked the flavor it felt a little too oily for me. Would purchase again if halving with a friend 👌

Great coffee + I tried the chicken pide and the beetroot salad and they were yum! The place had a nice ambiance too with interesting lighting and seating options
