Came with a big group of people.
Peking duck was decent.
Other dishes were good too.
The only thing was the sour spicy soup. It was so peppery!
The restaurant also felt super hot for some reason.
Apart from that the food was good! Would definitely come back.

The environment is clean and tidy. Food is great, Peking duck is a must. Make sure you pre-order it when you make a booking. I would recommend having the duck soup if you are having the duck 3 ways.
The sweet & sour fish is also a must try. The fish, here i meant the WHOLE fish, not fish fillet, gets deep fried. It’s amazing how it can still remain its fish shape. With the sweet & sour sauce on top, just divine.
Other than the duck and fish, I would also recommend the “Homemade Tofu” (deep fried tofu). Really crispy on the outside, but soooo soft on the inside.
Prices are reasonable, slightly cheaper than the other Chinese restaurants nearby.
The only thing i don’t like about this place is parking... especially at night, really difficult to find a parking if you arrive after 6pm. But overall, great place to dine.
Their lunch takeaway menu is top notch.
Twice cooked pork on rice is amazing.
The spicy beef on rice is decent too.
$11 gives you a good portion, but not huge.
Just came for a casual dinner with Peking duck on the brain and my mrs friends reckon this place is pretty good. Ambience and service is standard. We had 2x course of Peking duck, second being fried bones and we also got a dish of a sweet/sour type pork. Everything was pretty good, the duck skin wasn't the best I've had but still good. It all came out rather quick too.
The good there is 6 or 7 our 10 for me. The environment is really nice too. True, their signature food Beijing Duck does take quite a while to be ready but that’s how it is with this dish. I could understand the people who had a problem with it but I had no problem at all with their other foods. Oh, I almost forgot to say that the waitress there are really nice, well, nice in my book. I’ve been several times picking up take aways. Whenever I’m late (my fault), they would keep the food in the kitchen where my foods are kept warm. That never happens at any other Chinese restaurant I frequent, which is a breath of fresh air. Anyway, I would keep going back and that’s my view on this place.
We were lucky to have an early dinner at Fortune on a weekday, as finding a parking space was a bit of a problem. Peking duck was pre-ordered when we made the booking; however, this popular dish was bland. Entrées like marinated beef & ox tripe with chilli & duck feet with wasabi were both very good. Chives & egg pancake was excellent.
P.S. The short-comings which happened to our fellow Zomato reviewers didn't happen to me. But I think English-speaking customers should visit Fortune with someone who can speak Mandarin.
(Food - 3.5/5; Service - 3.5/5; Ambience - 4/5)

We went there twice for dinner.
First time, 8 of us went there for dinner on a Saturday and the experience was great.
1. Food quality - fresh ingredients and well cooked and presented.
2. Ambience - it's good for groups, clean and warm.
3. Price - good value for money. We had plenty to eat and spent $203.
Areas for improvement
1. Car parking - difficult to find a car park. Considering its east auckland, not the cbd...
2. Faster delivery of food - we had to wait for a while for our food and service. But overall good。
Second time, 4 of us went for dinner on a Saturday.
The food was ok. Too much msg, despite asking for no msg.
The service was very slow. We had to wait for about 2hours for all of our food. When we asked them not to bring the last dish, if it hadn't been cooked. They told us it had been cooked. 20 mins later, we got it - clearly they hadn't started frying the cabbage when we told them not to.
Not so impressed this time.
Recommend not to go when they are busy.
New Chinese restaurant on the former Kando sushi site. Has only opened a week ago. Need to book one hour in advance for Peking duck orders. Venue has been tastefully refurbished though traces of old sushi place are still present. Ordered the sweet n sour soup. Medium size we got 6 servings from it. The 2 course duck serving was not cut in front of you like some other venues but well presented. Pretty good for their 1st week. Will monitor to see its consistency. The staff are young, keen, eager and enthusiastic to make this place a success.Despise this site they occupy, simply for the terrible parking and maneuvering past poorly parked vehicles here.
My family had our reunion dinner here. The food was delicious! Jacky, the owner provides wonderful hospitality. Thank you, it has been a lovely experience. Definitely recommend and would come back again!
Unfortunately Beijing duck wasn’t available because I didn’t pre-order by telephone before going to the restaurant , but all of the food was extremely delicious.
Staff was super friendly and helpful to pick the menu too!
Definitely wanna visit again!
Level 3 lockdown, only open for takeaways. Best to ring ahead and order beforehand, so there is minimal wait time. Food was delicious and still piping hot when I got home. They have a mixture of Canton style and North Eastern Chinese dishes on the menu. I would recommend the Homemade Tofu and Mongolian Lamb Chops
Simple Beijing backdrop restaurant. Offers a good range of lunch variety. Food was light simple without any heavy spices. Spicy is only only on eye level ie looks spicy but no hint of spiciness. Dried fried glass noodle had a light taste with tender chicken, cabbage, choy sum and eggs. Spicy pork slices in rice was tasty. a good portion of tender non fatty thin spicy pork belly fried with Chinese leek and pepper was served hot from the kitchen by an assistant chef was an different experience. Moli Chinese tea on a pot was a good welcome to finish a nice hot meal. Will try the signature duck dish on next visit.
Great Chinese restaurant with great food. Jacky's the best host in the restaurant business.
First time here with family. I enjoyed it very much and recommend to everyone 😁😊
Recently opened great food, clean comfortable place and good price. Known for good duck but you may have to wait an hour to get it during busy hours.
I like this place. one of my favorites
Great food, excellent service and nice decor. The interior was much better than we expected from the outside. We called in after spotting Fortune as we drove past early one evening late last month and were able to order the duck without booking in advance, bonus. Enjoyed the food and had a lovely time. Very reasonable prices as well. It only cost us $83 for three adults and an infant which included beer (not for the infant!). Will be back when I’m in the area. Thanks.
Food was nice, but seating cramped.
Great Chinese restaurant. A mix of Cantonese and Beijing cooking which makes for great flavors on classic dishes. You should probably make a booking as this place gets busy. Seems like hot pot is quite popular here but make sure you get some duck dishes they are delicious. Parking is shared with neighbouring businesses so try and car pool, it's busy on the weekend. Great for small or large parties
Absolutely delicious. Great hospitality, comfortable environment, reasonable price.
Recommend Peking duck, sizzling eggplant, Lamb
My to go Peking Duck restaurant! Been many times and never once have they disappointed me. I personally think that this restaurant makes and sells the best Peking Duck. Although unfortunately parking is a little difficult but I can guarantee you the Peking Duck and their other dishes will make up for it!
Definitely worth for the duck. The portion was quiet big. And the presentation was attractive. But the other dishes we ordered were quiet average, we ordered two ducks, so could try all three courses. The duck soup and deep fried duck frame(椒盐) were good. Especially the duck soup. The pastry used to cover the duck was too thick, but after tell the owner, he was quiet happy to improve it, and made a better one for us, but still a little hard. If u ordered two ducks as us. Another two-three dishes will be enough for 6 ppl. I think their duck should be the cheapest Peking duck in Auckland. In total we spent 128 dollars. The price is reasonable for 6 ppl. If it’s not that far away from where I live, I would like to come more often for the duck. I was a little worried as other reviews said I have to wait for ages to be served and to get all ur dishes. However, their service actually really quick this time. Really want to give five stars, as the original restaurant with the same name gave me a super good impression three years ago. But their other dishes changed a lot according to my memory.
