Review Newmarket Bambina Cafe - Auckland

Had a really wonderful time in this cafe! The food and coffee are so pretty and also really delicious!!! My favorite is the spaghetti with prawns, very creamy and tasty. Love it!! The black pink bagel has a special flavor. Have to try!! Perfect choice for a fabulous brunch with friends. Definitely will visit againšŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹

Delicious and incospicuous location. The food was presented beautifully with large quantities and nice flavours. The chilli scrambled eggs came with a light drizzle of chilli oil and soft voluminous layers. The sourdough was crispy and soft. And the tomatoes plus pickled shallot on the side had sprinkles of cumin with feta which paired surprisingly well. Big breakfast platter was very worth it.

Conveniently located in Newmarket central with free parking at the next building. Love the food here too. Itā€™s my to go place when I crave for a nice brunch. Staff hereā€™s very friendly too. Would highly recommend.

Went here for a lunch and ordered the chicken panini, chilli scrambled eggs and corn fritters. Portions are quite big and very aesthetically pleasing to look at! Tasted good, good atmosphere
Mehdi Abdifard
All dishes were quite stylish and well garnished. We tried chilli scrambled eggs and Panna Cotta and found both high-quality and delicious.
Cristiano Habibi
We ordered egg bene on Rosti with mushroom and spicy scramble egg. Scramble egg one was abit too spicy but would suit someone who likes spicy food more) Portion size and plating was nice and they also offer range of different dairy free milk.

Bambina is deserving of it's popularity. The Thai Beef Salad and Lamb Chops were beautifully presented and delicious. My friend enjoyed her floral tea and the hot choc was special with real choc down the bottom. We walked from her office but parking is paid in the area.
Xiaoyu Liang
Great place for brunch. Exquisite toast and creative floral flavoured latte are highly recommended.
Shadiya Shaleen
This place is well worth the hype. Not only did the food look spectacular, but it tasted fantastic. Our orders were taken quickly and the cold drinks came out but the food took a while. We didn't mind as it gave time to unwind. There is a paid parking nearby and make sure to book in advance as it does tend to get packed. Try the fresh toast, hot cakes and iced mocha. See the rest in pics.

Amazing food. What a treat! Came back 2 days in a row!

A nice cafe tucked away on Tees Street. Everything was stellar, especially the quality of the dishes and coffee.

To be a real foodie, must write the real review. One of the best bacon eggs benny on potato gratin with sriracha holandaise sauce. And their chilli scrambled eggs was delicious
Emilia Rynkowska
Itā€™s a nice place for breakfast or brunch. Dishes look amazing - perfect for Instagram shots šŸ˜€They also taste well although my poached eggs were not poached but hard boiled.

Canā€™t say no to one of my favorite cafe in AKL. It is a shame that all lamb shark sold out today. Try out the new salmon with rice noodle not too bad but more recommended for summer time . Really like the prawns spaghetti ! And French toast as usual.

One of my favorite cafe, the coffee is great. Always love and enjoy their beautiful plating, delighted to both the mouth šŸ‘„ and the eyes šŸ‘€. Plus good service.

The food here is amazing, the pot of tea would have been the best cuppa I have had for years. The staff are friendly and service fast. A great environment for that get together or a business meeting. For the first time in years I made a point of complimenting the chef. we will be back
Karyn Cardno
Without doubt the best breakfast I've had. Superbly presented with innovative flavours, fantastic service, exceptional service.
Rhonda Stewart
Brilliant! Feast for the eye's and taste buds! Beautifully presented and at very affordable prices! Highly recommend it if you're in Newmarket.
Robyn Chavez
Was super delicious all four of us loved it and it lived up to every expectation. Only one small critique, I ordered a Buddha bowl which should of had spiced chick peas and tomatoes but unfortunately neither of these were in it, it was delicious and more than enough to eat.
Riddhi Doshi Patel
Awesome presentation and very creative!! Just one thing there was to much chia in chia pudding hope u can add some more flavours with the chia. Otherwise all perfect ā¤ļøā¤ļøJust love this place and great service. 10/10

Yongjin Edward Xu
The best food and coffee in Newmarket. Their popular banoffee French toast is amazing.
Pinming Sanniang
Bamibina launched a new kind of coffee: Osmanthus fragran latte. I found it on Xiao hongshu app. The latte is tasty, a bit sweet with fragrance. Drinking this coffee with signature blue berry ricotta hot cake, it is not enough for me to come every day.
Superb Foodie768
I always go to this cafe for brunch. They always provide high quality food, the ingredients are very fresh. Nice coffee. Warm service.

Came here for brunch with friends. I ordered the fancy pretty looking brioche french toasts with glazed bananas, seasonal fruits and candy floss. It tastes pretty good, not overly sweet. For $20, kinda wish they come with some bacon and not additional $6 if you want some. Friends ordered aubergene panini (order came and they gave her chicken panini, so she has to wait for a bit) and the other got eggs on toasts with side mushrooms. Food took a while to come but taste pretty ok. Friendly service but there is queue to use the toilet and it is outside.
Aucklandhalaleats
Such a filling French toast, tasted a lot like the pancakes at Mc Donalds but great presentation! The French toast was almost too pretty to eat!
CARO CONSUMES
One of those things that look a bit better than it tastes, but still is a nice brunch. Would visit again to try other things
Gabriel Kung

Have heard a lot about Bambina and glad to finally give it a go. I have to applaud the service here. Despite being fairly busy, we were seated quickly and servers were very attentive. We ordered ourselves the Corn Fritters and the Salsa Verde Chicken Panini from the cabinet. Lovely presentation and nice and soft corn fritters without being dry. Great that it comes with bacon and plenty of salad. French Toast seemed like a popular item from the menu and something that I will try the next time. Great place with a good amount of tables and a huge communal seating in the front of the counter. I would book in advance if your group is larger.
#fatlyfe
Ordered the mushrooms French toast and the pancake. The French toast looked beautiful but taste wise was actually average. The grapefruit on top was not the best idea cause it was bitter. The banana and dulche de leche was a good combo. Candy floss always makes things better. The pancake was massive! The mushrooms tasted amazing

Best cafe in Newmarket.Yummy food you could find in here.
Sunny Mc
After stayed home eight weeks, we were so excited to dine out, we went to bambina and got their lamb cutlets salad, itā€™s delicious and cooked perfectly.
YaHaHa
Really enjoyed the food and service, hot cake was great!
Angelainea
This place hands down has one of the most delicious fruit salads Iā€™ve come across! Everything was fresh and I really enjoyed the range of fruit. The plate I had included common summer fruits as well as more interesting ones such as passion fruit, figs and gooseberries! Very tasty paired with a dairy free coconut yoghurt. The place was very hygienic and the service was friendly. 10/10 would come again.
Joohee Grace Park
Came here after seeing the reviews - and I can definitely see why theyā€™re high! We got the french toast and eggs benedict, presentation and taste were both šŸ’Æ! Would definitely come again.
Reema Singh
Gone a few times, I feel the menus could do with an update however I recommend the pancake! One of the best Iā€™ve had in Auckland! And will always go back and staff and friendly with fast service

The best of breakfast I have ever

Went to bambina around 10am on a Sunday and there was lots of room in the cafe. We booked in advance so seating wasnā€™t an issue anyway. Between the 5 of us we ordered 2x eggs bene with bacon, halloumi, French toast and the hot cakes.

The service was really lovely and polite. Coffees came out very quickly, food wasnā€™t too long of a wait. My dish did come out quite late compared to the rest of my tables food though. Everyone really loved their meals and the portion sizes were really good. Personally I didnā€™t like my dish too much (halloumi) I found the mushrooms really sweet and the spinach wasnā€™t cooked which also felt odd. The dish didnā€™t come together really well - wouldā€™ve been better to have as a stack rather than a salad (if thatā€™s what they were going for). Would still come back though to try some of the other food as everything else tasted good.
Jess
the presentation was gorgeous and this is definitely an instagramable spot! the food was also delicious and iā€™d highly recommend. the wait was a bit long but not too bad. i have ordered both the pancakes and the french toast which were incredible!
Wawa Calati
We came here for our lunch because of their high rate on zomato page. We had their famous french toast, it's so so so amazing. Especially the food presentation. We wiil come back soon for their other food.
Heidi Ting
Coffee is great. Nice service. Always want to try their dishes and itā€™s not disappointed at all. Will definitely be back.

Pretty good vibes here. Standard cafe food and prices. Nice presentation and service. Lots of seating indoors.
Amy @ My Dining Journey
One of my favourite cafes in Newmarket. The food is gorgeous and very instaworthy.

They serve Allpress coffee, its a shame they dont do filter or cold brew.

Service is quick and friendly.

This cafe is one of top 10 in my heart. Whenever you visit this cafe, the quality, presentation and taste of the food are always steady. The chubby female chef had been work there a long time, everytime when I see her, I do not have to worry about the taste of the food. I feel many customers appreciate her cooking skills. I heard that she is one of the top chefs as well. I highly recommend people to try the food that made by her. The food is not only tasty but also beautiful.
Shanel Prasad
Amazing service and amazing food! Highly recommend :)
Weiming Tang
It is a very popular cafe on internet. The food here not only have beautiful presentation but also tasty. All the ingredients are very fresh, especially the salmon. The plate has tidy decoration unlike some other cafes, bit messy. The food has reasonable combination with large portion. Highly recommend.
Love Food
Bambina has a great team, theyā€™re cranking out best brunch in Auckland, l order their hot cake, and my friend had the best granola, simply amazing.
Ma Mad
The best blueberry hotcake I had ever. Amazing presentation and soft fluffy taste. I had many hotcake in Auckland, some cafes made hard, some cafes use the hotcake from countdown supermarket šŸ˜”šŸ˜”šŸ˜” but this cafe made the bestšŸ‘
An Wood
Always really nice visiting here. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Nice cafe with delicious food. Highly recommend their Buddha bowl.

The most beautiful granola I have ever. This breakfast is good for my body, after jym wr went here for our group meeting. I ordered this one, everyone was surprised by this beautiful presentation.
Forever Food
The best muesli I have ever. This small cafe always busy in the morning. It's local favorite breakfast shop. They can do healthy breakfast with amazing presentation.
Wanzi Xiao
I am a health diet food lover. Personally, I do really like bambina menu. They have a wide range of vegetarian options with nice presentation and taste. Waitress there are moderate, not as the staffs in some other cafes always push you or ignore you. They always help customers to refill water automatically to make you feel comfortable. I ordered this porridge in particular. Because I need gluten free food. They made that polenta porridge for me. Bambina is one of the best cafe in Auckland.
The Poor Foodie
All their food are very artistic and pretty. Really good for Instagram! French toast was cake-like texture, moist and went well with the syrup. Grilled salmon and granola also surprised me! Not usually a fan of granola but I kept going back to the granola. Next time Iā€™m looking forward to try their savour food also:)

Food: 4.5/5
Service: 5/5
Overall: 4.8/5

We had a Soy Matcha Latte šŸµ and Yellow Smoothie šŸ¹ as our drinks and ordered Grilled Salmon šŸŸ and Prawn Risotto šŸ¦ for our late lunch. šŸ‘€One glance at our food and drinks made us very hungry as they were all presented beautifully. Obviously our cameras took the first bite šŸ“ø
Soy Matcha Latte: This was nicely presented, sweet and delicious, you can definitely taste the matcha šŸŒæ
Yellow Smoothie: This is one of the best tropical smoothie we have had in a cafe. It was so tasty and it was very yellow, you can definitely taste a variety of fresh fruits used to make it šŸ„šŸŒšŸ„›
Grilled Salmon: The fish was cooked to perfection and beautifully accompanied by a bed if fresh spinach and cold rice noodles in a vinaigrette dressing šŸ„—
Prawn Risotto: This savory dish was very tasty, it had a generous amount of prawns mixed with the rice šŸ¤
We had an amazing dining experience with all the foodies. The food were all so tasty and definitely and without a doubt Instagram worthy with their amazing presentation šŸ’Æ We would highly recommend others to try this cafe out!

Itā€™s nice place for my family and friends. Good food, good coffee, and good service..... In Auckland, Banbina is my daughter ā€˜s favorite cafe. Such as Egg Benedict and French toast . Every Sunday, after her karate class, she is always asked me to go to Bambina. When my friends come to Auckland, Bambina is that they really want to go to the cafe.......Wish more new food come soon

This is the best hotcake i ever had in New Zealand, the design and the garnish makes me happy before eating and the texture is very soft and fluffy. I go this cafe every weekend for my family routine. Hotcake and Asian steak are my favorite dishes. The picture below will prove the quality of this wonderful lovely dish.
Liandra Misquitta
You can never go wrong with Blueberry Ricotta Hotcakes šŸŒ¼šŸ„žšŸŒ¼They tasted as good as they looked- really soft and fluffy and the fresh fruits were the perfect topping! The ambience is lovely, it is quite busy so the wait time to get our dish was quite a while! Nevertheless, it looked amazing and tasted great!

Absolutely Fantastic!

Very busy cafe but still very excellent service!

Steak strips was very tangy and tasty with the sauce and wrap. The spices with the eggs tomato and cheese matches perfectly. Granola panacotta my favourite, fresh, sweet and satisfying. For a lighter dish can try their tuna salad too.

Can be quite busy, but the team here are very organised. I highly recommend this cafe/restaurant and will definitely be back again!

Service: 5/5
Environment: 5/5
Food Quality: 4.5/5
Food Quantity: 5/5
Presentation: 5/5

Price per person: $20-$30

Lucky for us we booked our seat.
Food came out pretty fast, all the dishes were cooked and presented to perfection.
I could tell that they used good ingredients and fresh fruit for all the menus, especially their Ciabatta it was similar to the bread I use at my cafe.
Lamb Cutlet was really nicely seasoned the bits of meat stuck to the bone was the best spot I actually used my hand to eat them.
Granola and panna cotta looked so beautiful and tasted really good too. Variety of fruits used made it look more amazing.
Raw Tuna salad I had was very citrus with lemon and grapefruit. It was citrus but felt very healthy and balanced, Tuna was really really fresh.

Highly recommended Restaurant / Cafe in New Market!

Just try it and never disappoint !

You guys do the best granola in Auckland. I think your chef is an artist . The presentation was beautiful, the food color was so bright. We will come back soon.

Was again pleasantly satiated at Bambina's. I ordered the grilled salmon (my favourite dish!). I thought there was too much coriander and ginger. My friend ordered the fresh toast for the first time. She was quite delighted. Bambina is our go to cafe because it always lives up to our expectations. The staff are friendly and make you feel very comfortable. The wait time is not long. The dishes are always presently very beautifully.
K
Food is good, I think most of the reason why it's so pricey comes from making the food look aesthetic. Service is good too. A wide range in the cabinet as well.
E Englishfoodie
My friend treated me this beautiful lunch at Bambina. The food looked so beautiful and tasted delicious. We went to many cafes to try hotcake, only few cafes can make fluffy hotcake, this cafe was one of few cafes.
June Robinson
The service was very slow even though I was the only one ordering at the counter. The cheese scone was not very appetising - was microwaved for too long and the butter melted completely so once I took it out of the bag was a slick of melted butter seeping through the bag. Good atmosphere but not a good takeout experience-waited far too long
Cindy Tran
I loved this little cafe! Their dishes were all presented so beautifully, and they put a lot of thought into how they present their dishes.

I feel like dessert type breakfasts have been quite lacklustre for me so I wasnā€™t expecting something extravagant with the french toast but holy moly I was blown away with it! Iā€™m so glad I ordered it because it was absolutely divine, I highly recommend ordering this dish when you visit this cafe!

The eggs benedict had a fun little twist to it ā€” instead of having the typical sourdough or croissant, they replaced it with a potato gratin which was quite an interesting yet pleasant twist! Although it took a lot of my stomach space and didnā€™t give enough room for my dessert breakfast, I was still pretty pleased with it. I just wish they gave more mushrooms.

The matcha latte didnā€™t have a strong matcha taste, I felt it tasted more like milk so that was pretty disappointing.

Overall, Iā€™d still highly recommend this place to anyone planning to travel to Auckland or anyone who lives in Auckland!
Zong Yannie
Deserved reputation, coffee and eating are great! ! It is a very good experience, very recommended! Thank you for your service. Will come again
Jack Food
We visited this cafe twice a week. The first time we were so hungry, sorry we cleaned the plate before we took photo. They were so amazing. The second time we had their lunch here. We had their salmon salad, lamb cutlet and egg benny with bacon. High rates to them and highly recommend.
A.K
Went here for lunch and ordered their Chicken risotto | Chicken turkish. My risotto was very basic, it tasted like nandos rice so that was a little annoying as I was paying $22:50 for it. My friends turkish was apparently nice so that was a good thing for atleast one of us.

They do have a decent menu so might go back to try something else.
Wanzi Xiao
I have been to this cafe a couple of times. I always order french toast. This time some new items of food are added on the menu.Ā I preferred to try something different. Then I ordered a chia parfait.Ā It has very nice food presentation. It is not very sweet but very healthy.Ā I think it is a good option for vegan food lovers.
Hannah Zheng
After eating the food here, i feel like i can say it was the definition of feeling like Iā€™m in heaven. I donā€™t remember exactly what I got in this photo but I loved it! The place is usually always packed and the waiting time for the food is a bit long, but itā€™s worth the wait!!
It's Me
Enjoyed Brunch here with friends. Very busy with friendly staff. Ordered the Banoffee Brioche French Toast and it was delicious. Presentation is amazing and I'll definately visit again to try other items on offer.
ELE7EN
Thisā€™s one of best cafe in Auckland. Their food almost too pretty to eat. Highly recommended their panna cotta with muesli. You will be surprised the presentation . Photo is from their instagram.

Had the chill scrambled eggs and it was AMAZING soo yummy!! My partner had the eggs Benedict on potato gratin which were nice but slightly cold and a bit bland. Would recommend the tasty chilli scramble eggs and their beautiful presentation :)
Grace Ran
It's a very nice cafe. Love the yummy food so much! Especially the chicken risotto, my favorite!! French toast is very beautiful. I want order two chicken risotto every time but I was too foll.
Emily
My first time ordering the kitchen food.

I got the french toast and iced mocha. The presentation of all their food is so amazing. It instantly made me hungry.

French toast did not disappoint. Perfect mix of sweetness, with fruit to compliment. I'm usually very picky with these things but I was a happy customer!

My friends got the eggs Benny and breakfast salad- both were very satisfied with their meal as well.

Interior the cafe was very simple and it would be nice to have a little something to spice it up a little. Otherwise, a great experience.

I'm looking forward to coming back again to try the other items on the menu!
Will Nono
I haven been to this cafe a couple of times and hot cake is my favorite dish. It has beautiful presentation. It tasted sponge and sweet. The fruit which is decorated on the top very fresh. I highly recommend this cafe.
Xin Ma
This cafe always does beautiful plate presentation. We had the eggs benny here. Itā€™s so nice, the hollandaise was tasty and shinning. Highly recommended to try this dish.
Yana Petrenko
Came here for lunch one day, and it was so busy yet the cafe is a quite small space so wasnā€™t really happy with how cramped they are. My french toast was absolutely delicious but had to wait almost an hour to get it! I recommend coming here but only after making sure that itā€™s not too busy.
Saba
The food at this place is amazing along with the presentation. Went there today and found a hair in my food and got told it probably is my hair... I wouldnā€™t put a hair in my food when all I wanted to do was eat. They very kindly replaced it though but it didnā€™t feel good to hear that. šŸ™„šŸ˜’
Steamed Hams
I was looking for a cafe and came across Bambina. It was quite busy but I found an empty table. I chose a salted caramel slice and a hot chocolate. There were no labels on the glass domes so you don't know what's what, otherwise everything was great.
Karina
Bambina Newmarket has to be one of my favourite cafes in Auckland. The service is always lovely and the cafe itself is very clean and modern. The menu has a wide range and I think there is something for everyone there in-fact I find myself struggling to pick just one thing that I like. The food is presented so well and is perfect for taking photos. I've been there a couple times and have enjoyed myself each time. I have tried the granola & panna cotta which is my favourite and the nourishing budda bowl. Overall a lovely cafe with lovely service and will defiantly be back more!!
Anastasia Matiatos
Bambina New Market is always so damn good, I've been there twice and both times i've had such good food. The service is 10/10 and the staff are so sweet and cute making you feel welcomed. Last time I went there I got the avocado bruschetta which costs $16 which is very reasonable considering how good it was. The food is so perfectly displayed, perfect for photos for instagram! Defiantly recommend going 10/10 x
Saasha
Delicious food here! Staff are lovely and very accommodating. Food is very insta worthy too.

I saw they had some nice cabinet food too but was too full for dessert - will have to come back!
šŸ˜Ž
Had the chilli scrambled eggs and they were so good! The portion was filling. All the food at Bambina are very well presented. The cafe itself and the staff were both great as well.
David Tien
Decided to come here after seeing it listed on zomato gold. The waiter was amazing and the food came in 15 minutes despite being told it would take up to 45 minutes. The food was tasty and the portion size was also good. Would come back again
Karen
This place has the prettiest food! Youā€™ll always get an amazing picture for the gram. The price is also quite decent. For me personally this is more a summery place to brunch as a lot of their dishes are quite fruity as opposed to ā€œcomfort foodā€.
Chifan Chifan
I always come to this cafe for brunch. Last time I ordered a chili scrambled egg. The food is cooked in Asian style. I like the chili and dukkah which make my mouth watering.Ā And the cherry tomatoes on the side tasted fresh as well. The presentation of the food is beautiful.Ā Great service highly recommend.
Food For Life
Food are amazing. They pretty busy so we were lucky to finally managed to get a table. The best French toast i ever had. And my friend had buddha bowl and salmon egg bene they both loved their meals too. Will be back for sure.
JAMES LIU
We love this cafe, everytime we come here ,we always order their french toast and kiwi big breakfast. The food presentation looks like art, when you eat the food, your heart maybe sweeted by the beautiful dish.
CHIFAN.EATS
Disappointed at the presentation and the flavour... Also, it was hard to order from the photos on their social media posts cuz everything just looks like a bowl of fruits...

Food 5/10 Service 4/10 Ambience 5/10

Ricotta Hotcake 7/10
Itā€™s very pretty, just that the hotcake itself does not live up to expectation... It was way too moist, like it tasted like a steamed cake.
Corn Fritter 4/10
Food thrown on a plate. Average taste
Food.review.nz
This famous dish is a true work of art and indeed taste as good as it looks! Never have I ever eaten so fast cause it was just soooo yummy!

The best part about it was the generous portion of fruit ranging from bananas, oranges and strawberries which balanced the sweetness of the French toast, meringue, candy floss and maple syrup. The colours on that plate are warm and makes a huge difference to your experience. The French toast itself was well made and is a lot plainer in flavour to compliment the acidity and sweetness of the dish.Ā

However, I'm not sure if it was just the day I went on, but the wait for menu dishes was around 45 mins - we did get warned upon visit but decided it was worth the wait. However, if you are in a rush for a quick lunch, it may not be the best spot.Ā

Their presentation in the rest of their dishes are spectacular also and would love to go back and try the others!

Food 8.5/10
Service 6.5/10
Ambience 7/10
Price 6.5/10

Nice place with simple design and helpful service.
We had the French toast and the hotcake and they didn't disappoint us.
Very good balance of flavours and the plates are exquisite in their arrangements.
The only thing I found less positive was the waiting time for the dishes to arrive at our table.
Shannon
Came here for brunch on Saturday, they were pretty busy but the waitress did advise that there would be about a 40min wait. Coffee here is good, they use All Press, but their standard is only a single shot, so again good that they advise this when ordering. I ordered the egg white omelet with miso salmon, really nice and a bit different from the standard cafe omelet. Looks like they put a bit of thought into the presentation of the dishes too from what I saw of other customers meals coming out. Will be keen to come again and try out more of their menu.
BBW
Not sure if this one has any connection with the one at Ponsonby. We heard about this cafe, but went to a wrong one before.
They cook food in a very good looking and tasty.

After hearing so many good things about Bambina I finally had the chance to visit!

I got the Buddha Bowl w/ side of smoked salmon, while my friend got the grilled salmon. We got a green smoothie to share too!

- Buddha Bowl (10/10) I loved every element in this simple, yet fulfilling fish! Everything was so fresh and worked perfectly together! I was so glad I got the smoked salmon on the side! Insanely fresh lean salmon and good portion of it too as opposed to just a few slices. LOVE the added texture with the crunchy fried chick peas! It was unexpected but a very pleasant surprise! The crispness of the seaweed sheets also added to that. The tofu was amazing, and the citrusyness of the pickled radish and pineapples was the perfect way to excite your palate every now and then!

- Grilled Salmon (8/10) portions could be better for the price but the salmon was cooked to perfection! I think the presentation could look better if the salmon and leaves were swapped, so that the salmon isnā€™t hidden because it truly is the star of the dish! The bed of vermicelli was also really good after soaking the juices of the sauce up!

- Green Smoothie (6/10) they forgot about it at first but Iā€™ll forgive them since they were busy. The smoothie could have been less ā€œairyā€, dry and fluffy, and more ā€œliquidyā€. Some milk would make it nicer because it kind of felt like sucking up foam...but cool how they use the natural sweetness of medjool dates with no added sugar, if youā€™re on that health buzz.

Service was friendly and we used my Gold privilege here!

Food: 8.5/10
Price: 9/10
Ambience: 9/10
Service: 8/10

Was a little bit disappointed with the Banoffee French toast because when I read it in the menu I got so excited days before thatā€™s why I decided to have my birthday brunch there, but the caramel wasnā€™t even evident in the taste and the bananas should be at least a little bit caramelised. The bread was nice though, but just disappointed because it was average. My friend got the breakfast salad and we actually didnā€™t expect it to come out as green salad with just some meat here and there. Coffee was alright.

The French toast was really good! Not very sweet like other french toast that I have tried. They provide a side of maple syrup so you can adjust it to your preference. Their menu has a wide range of vegan and vegetarian food which was nice. I would definitely come again and try some more of thier food. Their staff were also nice and friendly.

Bambina serves the most delicious blueberry ricotta hotcake! It's light and fluffy, loaded with fresh fruits, grains and drizzle of maple syrup. Cafes would often overload their pancakes with sugar but this is just the right amount of sweetness. I've had it like 4 times and it's always real good.
Daria
I ordered the blueberry ricotta hotcake and it was way better than I thought! It was very light and fluffy, and the crunchy seeds really complemented it well. It wasnā€™t too sweet, but just right!
My friend had the eggs bene with mushrooms and said it was quite nice. The eggs were poached perfectly.
Will come back to try other dishes!

Had my first zomato gold experience at this fine cafe. Enjoyed the food thoroughly, portion was more than average and coffee was enjoyable. Would happily return again.

This cafe is located in the heart of New Market. I have been here a couple of times. And food there have beautiful presentation. My favorite food is grilled salmon. It is fresh and tasty. Last time I visited here it was quite busy I wanna order grilled salmon again, Unfortunately, it was sold out. Then I ordered a Buddha bowl to instead. The ingredients are very fresh and healthy and it could be a good option for vegetarian.
TY
We ordered an ice coffee, the grilled tuna and salmon eggs benny.

Pros:
Very generous portion sizes
Food was clean tasting (not oily)
Fresh raw tuna, yum!
Food was nicely presented

Cons:
Food took a long time to come out but to Bambina's credit they told us this would be the case
Ice coffee was decidedly average

Would go again

Service and atmosphere was great. We were warned before ordering it could be a long wait, but it wasnā€™t which was nice. Food was good, could have had slightly more flavour but was pleasant!

If youā€™re looking for Instagram worthy cafe brunch food in the midst of busy Newmarket in a cafe that is manageably busy and not too noisy for a chat at weekday lunch, this is the place to head to. Bonus points for the fact that Zomato gold is accepted on the full food menu, not sure about cabinet food though. Only gripe was that the bacon on the eggs bene was more of a ham, as I would have loved for it to be some crispy streaky bacon instead!
Tanz
Food looked pretty good but the tasted really average. Also had iced mocha and it was way too sweet. We went for lunch on the weekend and had to wait about 30 minutes for food.
Jou.chun
The coffees were inedible. They were burnt and I couldnā€™t get past my first sip. The food was so average,I couldnā€™t cut through the bread under my scrambled eggs.

The service was the worst. We had to ask for the menu 15 mins after being seated.
Inge
Amazing coffee and food! The buddha bowl was beautiful and tasty, definitely recommend! My friend had the eggs benedict and also absolutely loved it! Friendly service too.
Victoria_ti
Bambina Newmarket has been our staple brunch spot for years now. The coffee is excellent! The food has stayed consistently yummy and the portion sizes are relatively big compared to other cafes that have similar menu and price. Five stars for sure!
SpoonMe
Decent cafe with lots of lighting and open space.
Would be better if they played music as it felt empty/echoey.
We ordered the Buddha Bowl and Grilled Salmon which were both delicious!
The Buddha Bowl had everything I wanted... creamy dressing, crunchy chickpeas, sour pickles, fresh Mango and marinated Tofu.
Donā€™t know if Iā€™d come here without zomato gold but still a good cafe.

*Used Zomato Gold

Bambina has recently become my weekly must go cafe. The coffee tastes really good. All dishes look gorgeous in presentation and taste good too. The ambience is relax and spacious. Kids friendly. Appreciate Zomato Gold privilege.

We try this place using our Zomato gold privilege. The food is beautifully presented and taste so yummy! Even my daughter enjoyed her hot chocolate very much. The staff was very helpful explaining the zomato gold rules for us so we know exactly to expect and to order.

I have been to this place a couple of times and it never fails me.
The price is average and the food is good.
I always go to my fav. French toast!
Aside from itā€™s very good presentation the food is cery tasty as well.
I also enjoyed the Potato Gratin very tasty.
Keep it up!
Aimee.
We came here for a quick coffee and we were pleasantly surprised. We sat outside as we had a dog with us so itā€™s great that they offered outdoor seating. We ordered a soy mocha, espresso and two iced coffees which were all delicious.
Randy
The French toast here is beautiful so would 100% recommend. The chilli egg scramble was a little too spicy for me! Crowd seemed a bit older and more local compared to the Ponsonby brunch scene but still a great brunch experience overall.

Love Bambinaā€™s hotcake! Beautifully soft, thick and not too rich. Seasonal fruit breaks up the sweetness and presentation is super gram worthy!

What can be said for a place like this. Articulate, creative and attention to detail clubbed together makes Bambina for what it is.
Very conveniently located with open space and heaps of natural light makes the cafe so inviting. You can never go wrong with Allpress coffee can you?
What makes this place stand apart from the rest of the cafes is every dish served looks like vision, the owner is so passionate about her offering and pays attention to each plate that goes out. The panacotta is hands down the best dish on the menu, the Buddha bowl is a beautiful creation for vegans and french toast is a go to for all the sweet tooths out there. Definitely prefer sweet options to the savoury ones.
There is heaps of fresh, filling and quick options available as cabinet food too. The food is well priced with Newmarket location and also with the experience you are sure to get.

@bambina New Market.
Overall rating: 8/10

We ordered:
Banoffee Brioche French Toast $18.50, Chicken risotto $22.50. Food was delicious and beautifully presented, especially the french toast! French toast was sweet, eggy, and filling. Exactly what I was looking for! Risotto was creamy, zesty, and also filling! Was not disappointed by the food.

Vibes: Brunch!

Parking: Try side streets in New Market by St Peters on a weekday. Or if youā€™re a member of City Fitty you can also do a sneaky park there.

Negative: Extremely busy so staff were not attentive. Ordered a scone from the cabinet but it never came. Was obviously not charged for it. Had to wait a couple of minutes to grab a seat. A long wait for food (around 30 minutes). However, we were warned beforehand so it was fine šŸ™‚

Positives: Really enjoyed the food, the cafe is bright, large, and enveloped in a bustling atmosphere. Also loved the variety of brunch foods on the menu.

Amazing playing and best part ~ food tasted absolutely delicious! We ended up visiting this place a second time a week later! Friendly staff and great service. Highly recommended! Love that their sweet breakfast dishes isnā€™t overly sweet. I have been to this cafe a couple of times. It is located in the heart of New market. Last time I went there ordered a grilled salmon. The salmon with rice noodle are tasty. The way it cooked was combined with Asian and Western elements. I highly recommend it.

So it all looks beautiful- but the taste is just normal- like whaaat!
The French toast is certainly the most beautiful thing Iā€™ve ever seen- absolutely delicious- but nothing out of the ordinary in terms of taste.
Sadly the eggs were just so so - they poach in cling film - which is a little obvious and the hollandaise was nothing to write home about. The potatoes were undercooked and disappointing overall. The mushrooms were yum!
Certainly beautiful food, I wish the taste were as spectacular.
This place is lovely to visit for lunch. Their food is presented amazingly and is tasty too. Even during lunchtime, the time taken to serve isn't too long and the service doesn't give you the feel of being rushed. Definitely try out their all-day breakfast selection, the french toast, chia pudding, hotcake and granola all get top marks from me. Highly recommended with a cup of coffee.
Bobohood528
I am a sweet lover. Because I am from Shanghai. If you know my hometown, you will understand me why I love hotcake so much. Bambina provides one of the best hotcake in Auckland, yes, itā€™s true

My boyfriend and I were strolling around Newmarket when we came across this place. We found the decor was nice and tranquil. I was gunning for something lite and thus ordered the Chia pudding, a dish which the waitress had recommended. There was a reasonable wait period, but I must say it was worthwhile. It was the probably one of the best Chia puddings I've ever eaten. Healthy, yummy and refreshing. Also, the service was great and the staff were friendly. I will be back next time for sure.
Syreena
really beautiful food but unfortunately does not taste as good as it looks. I came here last Saturday with extremely high hopes from other people's esxperiences, and to say I was let down was an understatement. I ordered the nourishing buddha bowl, and my friend ordered the eggs benedict. we both loved the presentation but had problems with the food.

Firstly my buddha bowl. The ingredients stated quinoa, but I could not even find a speck of it even after turning my bowl upside down. It also stated cauliflower but I recieved something much more resembling of a pickled broccoli , not the best. the red cabbage, while I thought was fresh, turned out to be also pickled. on the outer hand, the avocado was totally delicious and the only thing I was able to finish. the dressing that went with it, lemon tahini, was so horrenous. Strong lemon flavour at the beginning and then led to an extremely bitter aftertaste. completely ruined my buddha bowl, so disappointing. it was so embarrassing for me to leave the cafe with over 3/4 of the bowl untouched, as I really couldn't choke it down anymore.

my fridn on the other hand also had problems with her eggs benedict. apparently while one egg was cooked nicely, the other one was virtually raw. I was even able to see the watery egg white still rolling around.. not nice. the hollandaise sauce was also far too over seasoned, unsure if this was just unlucky or an accident, but tasted like there was 3 tablespoons too much salt.

I don't think I will ever come back to Bambina. if you're looking for a good brunch place, plenty of places in Newmarket with better food. However, I do love how well it is presented and its definetley Instagram worthy.

Edit: Dropping my rating to 1 star because response from management and "Zhen Tao" (aka Bambina #2), leaving an extremely bitter aftertaste if this restaurant. Definetley will never be returning.
Fairfoodieinauckland
Always provide the most beautiful pancake here. Their food have the high quality and best presentation. This blueberry ricotta hotcake was fluffy and delicious. We will come back soon to try their french toast with pink floss.

After drooling over their IG posts I finally managed to dine here. We had delicious food with excellent service to match. We ordered breakfast salad , eggs Bene with salmon and beetroot lattƩ.

I'd definitely travel back to dine here šŸ˜ƒ

The food was fantastic, beautiful presentation and very tasty! Friendly staff! First time me and my sister went there and we felt very welcomed! We are definitely going back! 100% recommend!

I heard great things about this place but was disappointed in the whole thing. The food was alright not great. I didnā€™t really think the menu had much in the way of options for people who donā€™t particularly like eggs, like me. The presentation of the food though was amazing!
Dragon88
I went here recently after having to send back some disastrous eggs at another establishment.
Friendly, professional staff, very good scrambled eggs, great coffee and a lovely almond croissant! The only negative was that my coffee took 10 minutes to arrive. They were really busy with every table full though.
Becstasy
love bambina newmarket!! new favourite brunch spot. food comes out quickly, looks incredibly good, is value for money, and tastes amazing.
had panna cotta based on a photo of it the first time and was not disappointed, tasted as good as it looked!! also the hot chocolate is great, would definitely recommend! also they catered well to my vegan friend.
second visit i had bacon and egg on potato bake with mushrooms and kale, it was delicious. would not actually have needed to add the bacon (i usually do with any eggs) , it was that nice and fulling. green tea matcha was really good.
will definitely be returning soon, the cabinet food looks good so i will try that one day.
Alexander Price
Great food Great service nice little place always buzzing with local people popping in for lunch. The scrambled eggs are my favourite coffee is good will be back.
Hope šŸ„°
Bambina was a lovely cafe! šŸŒ± Food was great and the matcha latte I ordered was simply delicious. Definitely pricey (latte was $6 and salad was $17.50) but you pay for what you get what right?

Went To Bambina with an empty stomach and high expectations. I ordered the corn fritters, which come with sour cream, chutney, salad and two medium sized fritters. The food is alright, the chutney was probably the highlight of the dish. My friend got the soup which was very bland and needed salt and pepper to add some flavour. Could use some more vegan/vegetarian options on the menu and more whole foods. For someone like me looking for good quality and healthy wholesome food. Our server was very friendly and inviting. Food took at least 30 minutes, when people before us who had bigger meals that looked like they took more time to prepare got served before us. We asked one of the ladys what was taking so long and she replied " Oh they forgot your food, i will bring it for you." Clearly we weren't important enough for them to remember us.
Alice Ma
Great food and great presentation/colours. I came with 2 friends here. Easier to find parking in the weekend compared to town. Really enjoyed the food here. I would definitely come again.
Ankit Malik
Bambina is definitely up there along the list of cafes that I really wanted to visit due to its worthiness food was not bad price is reasonable. as per service there was a very long wait but the staff was super friendly and let me know beforehand about the wait, definitely a nice place
Aleisha T
Had seen the food on instagram for a while now. The French toast was definitely worth the hype! A bit loud and a bit hard to get staff attention a few times - but it was very busy on a Saturday morning.
Rae Collins
pleasant place and peopleĀ - wouldĀ have preferred to have more than one chopped up date in my date scone - it tasted of flour only!Ā Apart from that I would go back as it is not too noisy

Came here with friends today for brunch, the place had very nice atmosphere, nicely furnished with nice staff. No booking were required.

The food was very delicious, I especially liked the eggs benny on potato gratin.

Would definitely come again!

Bambina is definitely up there along the lists of cafes that I really wanted to visit due to its instagram-worthiness. And Iā€™m happy to say that in real life it does not disappoint!

Every single dish were carefully and delicately crafted, which translated into flawless presentations that looked like master pieces. Almost too pretty to eat! My blueberry ricotta hot cake was prettily decorated with edible flowers. It delivered in flavour as well - the hot cake was extremely thick and fluffy, paired with creamy ricotta it was an absolute dream.
My friendā€™s chia seed pudding was equally beautiful, with an abundant amount of fruit.
I did find the pulled pork more on the dry side, but the sauce was delicious, and the perfectly chewy texture of the bagel would leave you wanting more.

The drinks (we had yellow smoothie and matcha latte ) were equally impressive.

There were so many other gorgeous looking cakes in the cabinet, which I regret being too full to try, and will have to leave them for the next visit.
Julie Allison
I like this fashion, clean cafe located in busy new market. Healthy food well itā€™s too healthy to me :) good place to dine in and have a cup of coffee. Will come again.

We went to Bambina for weekend brunch and had the French toast, buddha bowl and 2 lattes. Presentation of the food was amazing! It tasted yummy and they have lots of variety in the menu. We were served relatively fast and the staff were polite and friendly. A great cafƩ!
Went there last Saturday with my friends and all of us are loving their food! They have gorgeous plating and itā€™s super insta worthy! Food was not too bad, price is reasonable

Slightly overpriced but I guess you pay for the looks of the food! I had the coconut chia pudding and it looked amazing. Was a very Long wait but the staff was super friendly and let me know beforehand about the wait. Definitely a nice place

Of picture perfect breakfasts and Sundays šŸ˜ƒ
Had this beautifully presented blueberry ricotta hotcakes at Bambina. While I didnā€™t quite eat all the flowers (a few petals are good enough for me!) you have to admit it made the dish look very pretty! The seeds added a lovely texture too :) Plus the place has a lovely, relaxed feel.
The hotcakes - so delicious - definitely recommended
Iā€™ll go back to try the French toast- it looked divine!
HJ
One look at their instagram and itā€™s obvious to see Bambina has an art for presenting their dishes. Using fresh and brightly coloured produce each dish stands out on its own. My partner and I popped in for a coffee and I couldnā€™t help not trying something from their menu. I ordered the Coconut chia seed pudding and it did not disappoint with its presentation. Chia seed pudding, fresh fruit, edible flowers and candied walnuts filled the artificial coconut shell to the brim. Although it was a big portion, the pudding was balanced out well with the coconut milk (served fresh on the side), mango, berries and walnuts. With such bold and colourful dishes, the cafĆ© interior seems a bit dull and could do with a bit more character and a little spruce up.

The cafƩ was well staffed during out visit but we found the service pretty average to be honest. The man at the counter made up for it though - he was really friendly and wanted to know if everything we ordered was ok.
Amesirv
I have been wanting to visit Bambina ever since I saw images online of its quality presentation for the food, and the favourable list of meal options. Upon arrival my friend followed her sweet tooth and ordered the French toast, but as I lean towards savoury I had to go with the smashed avocado and the Buddha bowl (yes I was super indecisive and needed both)! All the dishes came out looking gorgeous, and tasted just as good! Will be back to try some of their fruity breakfast options, but would warn people to come during less busy hours as I did see some people struggling to find seating and there was quite a rushed atmosphere in the cafe itself.
Glenn Town
I had brunch here yesterday
Was quite disappointed
The service was mediocre
The coffee was good
I had the Lamb Cutlets which were tasty and properly cooked but tiny
The salad was ordinary at best
I could do much better
That is not saying much!
And worst of all the management was quite rude when I tried to use a voucher
Told me to go to the Ponsonby store
I will not go back
Sonia Patel
Amazing staff , amazing food! The best smashed avo on toast ā¤ļø and needless to say the coffee is as good . Definitely my favorite breakfast place .
Rosanne Choy
Visited last year for lunch and cake.
Presentation and taste of fruit salad 10/10
Salmon was fresh and sauce complimented it very well.
Cheese on top of salad tasted delicious and the noodles in the prawn pasta were thin and refreshing to eat.
Espresso tasted real strong but was a good drink to have while eating the chocolate cupcake.
Matcha latte was also the perfect match to have with the lemon tart.
I would definitely go again to try more of the cabinet food!
Miji
A pretty food cafe to level up your Instagram foodie game. A nice place to chit chat with your girl friends over brunch. Coffee and food aren't too bad. Only downside is the external washroom.
Deanhuntforever
Iā€™ve got the best French toast in this cafe. The beautiful presentation and the great taste. Their staff were very grace. We checked their food on instagram, we want to try everything.
Natyo
Love this place for lunch! Food is amazingly presented and super tasty. Even during lunch time rush the wait isn't too long and the service is still prompt without making you feel rushed. Definitely try out their pulled pork- literally melts in your mouth! The French toast is amazing and my vegetarian friends love the Buddha bowls. Highly recommended!
Angela
the interior design can be improved but the food and presentation of food is quite nice (and Instagram worthy)! I really enjoyed their chia bowl and the prices are quite reasonable especially considering itā€™s location.
Chloe Mason
Delicious food, very artsy, eggs were cooked to perfection, pancakes are beautifully and fluffy šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼ love eating here. always a first option for brunch. smoothies could be a bit thicker but still tasty
Faz
If youā€™ve looked in my history of reviews youā€™ll see I love a good Eggs Benedict.

Seriously, Iā€™ve found my new absolute favourite place to get Eggs Benedict, they always make it perfect and you MUST get the salmon version, strong tasting salmon mixed in with all the ingredients on the plate make this a well deserved 10/10.

Iā€™ve been around 4-5 times now and enjoyed every single dish šŸ‘ŒšŸ»

Hereā€™s a photo it doesnā€™t do its justice

Amazing service too and nice people
Amit Tripuraneni
Good food BUT extremely slow service today. Took 30 minutes to serve the breakfast dish. Had to change order because they ran out of Avocado. Wait staff are really polite and helpful and understand that they were facing staff shortage today but massive wait times like that not the best look.
Tanky Zong
We've got the best Buddha bowl here, it's so fresh with their miso tahini dressing. We found this place from Zomato, it's great cafe in Auckland. šŸ‘šŸ‘
Sarah Yang
Itā€™s one of best cafe in Auckland. We came here on Sunday morning for our breakfast. We ordered avocado bruschetta and eggs benny. They were so fresh ,delicious. Well done Bambina! šŸ‘

Great menu selection, everything that came out looked super fresh. I got the Budda bowl and there were even more ingredients than on the board. It was delicious and great coffee too top it off. The staff is attentive and service is efficient.
Hangry Angee
I came in just to try out the blueberry ricotta hot cake. It was so good. The freshly made hot cake covered in maple syrup was just scrumptious. The dollop of mascarpone made it for me. Perfect combination. It would have been even better if the hotcake wasnā€™t just one big fat 1 inch thick cake. Maybe have 2 or 3 flat cakes? Anyway it was just so pretty & colourful to look at, made with high quality ingredients. šŸ‘Œ

Beautiful deco:) steak was not good for me (was too hard ) but pancake and hot cake was perfect with flower deco:) waitress was kind. Flat white was good.

We came here a year ago and really enjoyed the blueberry ricotta pancake. Came back recently and the food quality is now below average. We ordered the same pancake but the fruits weren't fresh, the batter was uncooked in the middle and the presentation was extremely unappealing. We also ordered a minute steak sandwich and the steak was rubbery and raw when served, the sourdough bread soggy and unenjoyable. Would not come back again, really disappointed!
Emelda Braun
Received the worst customer service, had to wait 50 minutes on my order and other customers who ordered after me received their meals in about 20 minutes, when I asked if they took note of my order and that I had been waiting nearly an hour, I was told that my order was just being made. food was average but customer service was very poor. Doubt I will return.
Ayla San Miguel
Went here with my friend for breakfast, I had the french toast and she had the pancake. They were so good! Serving size was big and was just enough! We were worried about the service being slow, having read old reviews, but it didn't take that long at all! I guess it just depends what time you come in. Will definitely come back and try something new! šŸ‘

I came here for lunch with a bunch of friends a few weeks back. The service was good. As for the food, it tasted nice and was healthy as well. It's a nice place to just sit and chat with friends. I recommend Bambina.
HelenMeng2000
Food is so good! Looks amazing and the interior design is modern and aesthetic. Came here with a group of friends and we got bruchetta, chicken salad, corn fritters, eggs benedict and an omlette. They were all under $20 except the chicken salad which was $21.50. I recommend this place :)

Lovely food and coffee. Good options for DF and GF people like me. Long wait though - about 35mins for a salad but they did warn us before we sat down.

Everything on the menu looked absolutely amazing. I ordered the egg benedict and could not fault it, especially the cooking of the egg, i didn't know it was possible to be cooked so perfect. I also tried the corn fritters, again beautiful. Didn't order a coffee this time but everyone else's looked pretty šŸ˜Š

Had been there for so many times, nearly tried the majority of the menu, and recommend to all the friends, yes, I am the huge fan of Bambina. Not only the gorgeous plating, but also the tasty food! I can feel they are doing by their hearts!
Aditi Grover
The blueberry ricotta hotcakes are to die for. Definitely the best place in Auckland for pancakes šŸ‘… the food is beautiful, and the service is on point.
Chelsea Lopez
The blueberry ricotta hot cake here is sooo good! Amazing presentation and it didn't taste too sweet, the texture was perfect and it wasn't dry. Definitely a must-try.
FoodMakesMeHappy
Bit of a slow service. Waited about 25mins for hotcake and corn fritter. However food was totally worth. It was beautifully presented and it was so tasty!!! Not too sweet and very refreshing! Definitely recommend this place :)
Vicki Wong
An early lunch here on Saturday was welcomed with full natural light streaming through the large windows and a full cabinet called on my eager stomach. A very reasonable price for the assortment on sandwiches, slices and frittatas on offer. However I opted for the eggs smashed avo and tomato on toast. The highlight was the beetroot hummus thats vibrancy shined on the plate and was bursting with flavour. A very pretty dish that left the stomach full yet light and healthy enough to not feel guilty for eating such a large portion!
Dxlche
Once again an instagram worthy cafe, so of course I had to go.
We had the breakfast salad, the French toast, hot cake and the eggs benedict. I can't speak for everyone but my hot cakes were absolutely delicious. I especially love the addition of the half passionfruit on the side as well as the fresh strawberries. The hot cake was really filling and doused in just the right amount of syrup. The presentation was beautiful.
My friend wasn't too happy with the breakfast salad but it's because she doesn't like salad greens (so why get a salad?). Overall, a worth trip over to Newmarket.
Hungryfoxbb
Aesthetically pleasing, delicious and healthy! What more could you ask for? Service was good&fast too. Love Bambina ā˜ŗļøā˜ŗļø definitely recommend!!
That_Girl
Ordered the blueberry ricotta hot cakes and it was delicious. The edible flower did not taste good but adds an aesthetic feel to it. The food served here seems Instagramable and taste amazing which is quite rare. I would come back here again
Teddyfamily.
This is a popular cafe with lots of lovely and insta-worthy brunch options. Came here to try the blueberry ricotta hot cakes and omelette. Fruits and flowers used were very fresh and the ricotta was made nicely. However the hotcakes were a little dry and could definitely be compensated if more maple syrup was used for example. The cleanliness and food standards of this place are high and the only downside is that they serve slow. Would've gotten a higher rating if the food came out quicker and we didn't have to wait half an hour or so.
Kathy Xu
Great food and I love that they have a large table at the back which is great for groups! The atmosphere is really nice and everyone in my group was happy with their food! The only let down was the flat white with almond milk that I got, as it tasted burnt and the almond milk had curdled but to be honest, that happens with nut milk so overall I am happy with my experience there.
Grace
been here before just to get coffees but i recently went to get an actual breakfast meal the other day and was quite dissapointed. i'd searched the place before for reviews on it and was attracted by the pretty presentation of food however it had mixed reviews so i went anyway. i got the muesli and when it came out i knew that the portion size wouldn't be enough so i ordered a green smoothie to fill me up ( which was yum ). the plate had a handful of fresh fresh fruit on the side, a dollop of yoghurt with sparingly small amounts of muesli sprinkled ontop, alongside a small dish of honey for drizzling and a seperate tablespoons worth of muesli set aside. the muesli portions were pathetic if i'm being honest. There were a couple of tablespoons and then i was left to a small amount of yoghurt and fruit. Despite presentation being pretty the serving size was minute despite being informed by the waitress that it was relatively big and would fill me up.

Bambina has a very modern look to it and was very comfortable and spacious. I had the banoffee brioche French toast which was delectable and super filling - a must have if you visit! The staff were also friendly and fast with their service - will definitely visit again when in the area.

I had the french toast and it is most definitely as amazing as it looks! Probably the most beautiful food I've ever seen! The food was awesome and the service was ok. We did order a side of toast and it never ended up arriving, plus a waitress never checked on us so we could never ask where the toast was. Apart from this though great coffee, great food and nice location! Plus I thought the portion sizes were decent and the prices were really reasonable for what you get!
Munchy
Been there twice. Got the French toast and it was amazing sooo happy with it. The other time I went I got eggs benedict with salmon and it was average, felt like the salmon/egg to potato ratio could've been better.

Bambina is a must go place for lunch if you are in the Newmarket area. They have an extensive menu, as well as a rich selection of cabinet to choose from. Coffee is excellent. You don't have to order at the counter, the waiters come to you. It gets quite busy tho, so i'd get there early. I recommend the tuna salad, it's excellent.
Chin And Prony Powichitkul
Great breakfast range and lovely set up for business meetings. Food were delicious, coffee was average. Reasonable pricing. Will def recommend for anyone looking to find a place for business meetings.

A lovely and awesome place for food and drinks. I went with friends and we were all enjoyed the atmosphere there. Staffs were really friendly and willing to help, even though it was a bit busy during we arrived they didn't show any impatience. The surrounding was nice and the most important thing was the food how yummy and amazing was.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place. If there is a wait time, I am informed as soon as possible. So you have a choice if you are willing to wait or leave. If you prefer to eat healthy, or your a vegan, gluten free, then this is the place for you indeed. They cater to meat lovers, and sweet tooth's also. I would definitely go back. The banoffee french toast was my favourite. So be sure to give it go if you don't mind a bit of a cheat meal for once.

Amazing food, and great service! My first visit to Bambina cafe I tried their hot cake and it was prefect! I will definitely come back again!!!

Simple the best quality granola I've come across in Auckland! Found about it on Insta, everyone should check out their page. I would highly recommend everyone to try it, Bambina is definitely worth a visit! The store was very busy at noon, but they told me it would take around 30 minutes and they held true to that statement. The waitresses were very welcoming too.
Haha Ha
Food is not so good, low rating taste but with better display. Ambiance is warm and kind, but a little cozy. Service is thoughtful but really really slow in delivery food. Maybe not enough chef in the kitchen.

"Polite" Review:
Literally the worst cafe experience I have had to endure. Understaffed and a major lack of customer care. It took over 1 hour to get my food, with no warning on the wait time. What made it worst was that the waiter and the owner were completely unapologetic about it!!! Terrible service , no accountability by their serving staff nor manager , and the food was not good nor worth such a wait. Ruined my Saturday morning!!!! And the after service was absolutely appalling as you can all see from their comments below. I wish I could score this place a 0 but unfortunately there is no option :( let's make it very clear this is a review site and we are very fair and generous in 99% of our reviews. This has literally been the worst experience and you fully deserve this rating. We do apologise for using horrible to describe your staff. We didn't mean it on a personal level about them, but in a professional sense.

Original Review: Literally the worst service ever! Understaffed and crap. Took over 1 hour to get my food what made it worst was that the waiter and the owner were completely unapologetic about it!!! Horrible staff, horrible service! Shit food! Ruined my Saturday morning!!!!

The place was so nice and relaxing, and the decor was beautiful. Overall we had a fantastic experience and we will be back again to try the rest of the menu. The owner was amazing for the whole time he were there and made sure our glasses were never empty. Thank you for a great night Bambina

Bambina Newmarket is my work local! Good coffee, and delicious 5-grain toast - take my word for it! My eggs with a side of half portion smashed avocado is the perfect start to the day. I can also recommend the tuna salad if you are swinging by for lunch!
Jade0289
They serve really nice coffee& food! You can expect yummy brunch with nice plating & generous portion at Bambina.

I tried the Chia Pudding and it was truly a surprise to me! Look at the fresh fruits on top, I really enjoyed it.

The only downside was the waiting time was the longest ever. It took more than 30 minutes for this freshly chopped, nothing- need- to- be- cook dish.

The food here is great. The atmosphere is great and all the staff are very friendly. I love all their sandwiches and theur sweet bakery items are also delicious.
Ann R
Gorgeous decorated food on the breakfast menu. We had the salmon and eggs bene on a potato stack and the blueberry ricotta hot cakes. Staff were friendly and attentive. My mocha was perfect!
Mad Bij
Food was great - perfect portions and beautiful presentation. Atmosphere was nice and very friendly staff. Would definitely come back to try more of the menu(:
Monsieur OuiOui
The food and drinks were really nice. Friendly waitress and a great environment. Definitely would recommend. The presentation of the food was amazing.

TL;DR: Great atmosphere. Truly 'instagram-worthy' food. Eggs benedict not for you if you want something light.

After having done some roaming, I came here on a sunny Tuesday afternoon after seeing "instagram-worthy" food all over their zomato page. Here's how it went down:
-Food: Ā
I ordered their eggs benedict and an iced coffee. The eggs benedict was intriguing in that they replaced what would normally be a slice of bread or a bagel with potato - being a huge fan of potatoes, I just had to try it. What came was truly instagram worthy (see picture down below). The colours were vibrant and it looked extremely appetizing. The eggs benedict itself didn't live up to its image, however. The dish was insanely heavy - oozing oil, cream or butter from the gratin, hollandaise sauce, and the egg yolk from the poached eggs. Taking one bite fills your mouth with a heavy 'fatty' feeling that was fairly unpleasant after a few more. Ā The iced coffee was fairly average. For some reason, there was a one inch layer of some foam on top after the ice cream had dissolved, and it didn't mix into the coffee well or taste good.

-Prices:
Definitely on the more expensive side of things, but it is about what you would expect from a rather popular cafe. You're paying for good presentation, good ingredients, and a good portion of food that will make you full.Ā

-Service:
The bobbed hair girl was quietly attentive, and seemed very hardworking and friendly. The girl at the counter was also very cheerful and greeted everyone with an energetic smile :)

-Ambience: Ā
With the high rise building and open space, the overall place feels very welcoming. The place is modern and chic, and everyone had plenty of space as it wasn't overcrowded.Ā

Overall, I will definitely come again to give Bambina another shot. Probably won't get the eggs benedict again, but will go for the muesli or whatever looked like had a ton of fresh fruit on it.

I have been here a number of times now. The wait for meals is a bit long for a cafe - it is best to come here when you are not pressed for time and want a time for discussion. The customer service is pleasant and gracious. The food is nicely proportioned and nicely seasoned. Have tried about half the menu now. Thoroughly enjoyed their chia bowl. Other meals also recommended. Their coffee is excellent.
Donna&Shane
Was walking by and popped in to try the chicken salad .. the food in the cabinet looked good...place is nice big modern open & clean. Staff are young one of the waitresses needs to smile or at least look more happy. Does it seem 'not right' to spray (with a bottle of dettol disinfectant) and wipe the inside of the food covers then put it back over the food? Anyway the chicken salad looked great until I took off the coriander and there was a small dead bug on the corn... so i got my money back and left.

Have read good reviews about this cafe, so I decided to come here for my morning coffee! Ordered my favourite cup of coffee, which is a cappuccino with cinnamon topping. Cinammon is a great substitute for sugar, since sugar ruins the taste of coffee. Allpress roastery is the best, in my opinion. The coffee could have been extra hot, but that's my fault since I forgot. The cappuccino was nice and creamy, which I was satisfied about. Will come by and try their flat white next time.
Ati
Staff and food were both exceptional I'll definitely be returning again soon! I ordered the Banoffee French Toast and Lemon Ice tea. I've found that a lot of places make their Lemon Iced tea too sweet, but Bambina has it just right! The Banoffee French toast was out of this world, it's definitely my new go to brunch.
Nitia Sari
Went all the way to New Market for this famous hotcake. We were warned that the wait was gonna be a while which was true, especially cause we were highly anticipating and we have empty stomach. But when I first indulge on a slice of maple syrup covered hotcake with berries and a slab of mascarpone (and some edible flowers of course) everything just sorts of come together into one big ball of yum. For the price I'm paying, the Instagram fame I'm getting, the physiological AND psychological satisfaction I'm obtaining, it was probably the best $17 brunch purchase I have ever made this year. Very good!
Stephy_NakiGirl
Great spot in Teed St Newmarket. Service is always friendly & efficient.
Table service & water delivered to the table which is good.
Had a lemonatta but coffee is always consistently good when I've ordered this on prior visits.
Love their breakfast range & also their risotto - both are yum (prawn & broad bean/ lemon & chicken) however the chicken won out today. Doesn't look a lot but it's quite substantial with lots of chicken.
Lots of nice cabinet items too & baking at the counter.
Charlene Weaver
Came back here for the first time in a few years, they have definitely improved in terms of presentation however I didn't really enjoy the food I ordered. I got a mango smoothie and corn fritters for lunch. Smoothie was very average, corn fritters were ok but felt super thirsty after probably too much salt. All in all, this cafe is ok but not a stand out for me.
Jessica
This place was surprisingly amazing! Went in on a quiet Sunday morning and not expecting much. I ordered the blueberry ricotta pancake and a mixed berry smoothie. Not only was it delicious it looked beautiful too! I didn't want to eat it at the start cause of how pretty it looked. My mum and boyfriend had the eggs benedict and they looked so good also! The drink wasn't my favourite but I will be coming back here defiantly. Service was also good. 100% would recommended to everyone who loves the classic breakfast items but canĀ admire the presentation as well as taste.

Quite average coffee
Panini was good !
Lady kindly bought it out in 2 seperate played with seperate salad as we said wed like to half it
Lovely simple interior
Next time i must try your granola and french toast as it looked delicious nearby
But wont be ordering coffee again from here

We went to Newmarket to tey something new. Found this little place called Bambina and the inside of the cafe is very stylish, great service and they even provide water to you (no questions asked)! The food and the drinks were well presented and the banana smoothie was made with real fruit, superb.! I wouldn't mind coming back here again.!

bambina is definetly a little gem hided in New market, friendly staffs, comfort environment, nice food and cafe. used to been here at least twice a week..
Heard about this cafe through social media and was not dissappointed. Meals took ages (45mins+) to come out, but were good and very appealing to the eyes!
Ms Jones
Service was a bit slow, which mid Saturday morning can be expected. Coffee came out promptly & but once the ricotta hotcake arrived, all was forgiven. Coffee was lovely & the presentation of the hotcake was beautiful. The hotcake itself was perfectly cooked. All in all I left a very happy camper.

Bambina first came to our attention when we saw some jaw dropping photos on Instagram of edible flowers, fruit platters and amazing styling of dishes. Situated just off the main drag on Teed Street in Newmarket it looks unassuming from the street.

Rows of sweet treats line the counter and the cafe is bright, airy and modern. Every time pulled pork is on a menu you can guarantee weā€™re going to order it so first up was the 12 hour cooked Pulled Pork Shoulder with Apple Cider Slaw served on a bagel.

The pork was succulent and juicy and was perfectly complemented by the sharp apple cider slaw.Ā

Next up was the star dish ā€“ Chicken Risotto with Saffron, Lemon and Parmesan Cheese. The perfectly cooked creamy risotto had a generous amount of saffron coming through with moist, juicy chicken and tangy parmesan cheese rounding out the dish.

Grilled Salmon with Ginger, Coriander, Baby Spinach, Rice Noodles, Lime and Chilli had ribbons of cucumber running through it which provided a lovely contrast to the soft delicate salmon.

Who doesnā€™t love a fruit salad when youā€™re too full for a dessert but still want a sweet hit after your meal? The Fresh Fruit Salad Bowl with Greek Yoghurt was presented beautifully with plump juicy fruit and a nice cooling yoghurt.

The only negative we would say about Bambina was the service could have been more efficient. The cafe wasnā€™t full and our plates were left uncleared for a very long time and were still sitting there when dessert arrived.

Aside from that we would thoroughly recommend this cafe in the Newmarket area.

Went to Bambina for brunch and ordered the Banoffee Brioche French Toast whilst my friend ordered the Chorizo Bagel. The service was great and they were really friendly when taking our order. The food came out within 10 to 15 minutes which was good. The French toast was very filling and I loved how they had the fruit on the side with the oranges and the strawberries. The banana at the top of the French toast was delish because of how they were crunchy and it melted in my mouth. I have never tasted anything that good before.

I've been here numerous times over the years, and I truly think this cafe get better and better, especially their menu.

They offer menu dishes, cabinet food, counter food. I'm not a fan of cabinet food. But I have their Aubergine, beetroot panini twice, it was super delicious!

The coffee is 5/5, which is consistent!! I have never had a bad coffee here.

High recommend their blueberry ricotta Hotcake, you will be die for...

Been here a couple of times - cabinet food is pretty average however the chia pudding is amazing. Workers are all extremely friendly but can be a bit awkward at times.
Monique Porteous
After hearing so many good things about bambina through the zomato grape vine - I knew it was time to pay it a visit. Tucked into the end of Teed Street you will find a spacious and well lit cafe filled with friendly staff and a classic menu with a twist āœØ. The staff are absolutely lovely and extremely helpful, which can be a rarity in the posh suburb of Newmarket! The food is wholesome and the presentation is modest. My only 'critique' would be that they could benefit from having a few more classic food items on the menu šŸ’ƒšŸ». All in all a great find in Newmarket!
I Love Food
Very busy cafe! Nice set up. A good place to get brunch. All the food is nicely presented. I had the corn fritters and enjoyed them. Was disappointed about the fake avocado purƩe - does not compare to actual avocado at all! Staff were nice but service was quite average. The pancakes and French toast look amazing so will come back to try those!
Rachel Roberts
Great Cafe in Newmarket. These guys have a lot of healthy choices like their chia seed pudding. Going to have to go back to try out the riccotta pancakes. Yum!
Jan
Went here for lunch and we had coffees, chicken panini and a scrumptious carrot cake! Everything was delicious and well worth the value. The staff are also very nice and friendly!
Sarah Herman
One of the only places open on Easter Sunday! Had a really good smashed avo on sourdough with beetroot hummus. Coffee is Allpress and delicious :) great service too

Visited this cafe on Sunday morning on the way to my work. Unexpectedly it is quite spacious considering the fact it is located in the heart of New Market. The staff are polite and welcoming, Ordered a Hot Chocolate and Spinach Tart. The food was scrumptious but a bit expensive.
Jessica Teasdale
Considering this cafe is located in the heart of Newmarket, there was a surprising amount of space and wasn't uncomfortably overcrowded!

They have a diverse range of food on the menu that cater to both the health conscious and the indulgent. I ordered the blueberry summer pancake and can honestly say it was one of the best pancakes I've had...so light and fluffy! The mascarpone was amazing too.

Service was fast and friendly. The only thing I found a bit odd was they brought my friends meal out first and waited quite a while till they brought mine...

Pricing wasn't too bad either. Typical Auckland prices, wouldn't say it was cheap but definitely wasn't overpriced.

Would definitely return

Went to brunch at Bambina on a Wednesday and the cafe was very busy. The waitress took our order but got one of our orders wrong.. This was quickly sorted out though. Food was yummy and nicely presented too

Beautiful food!
Really nice balance of flavours and everything tastes so fresh.

They have the best Beetroot hummus I have ever had!

Fairly priced for breakfast and lunch meals too. Everything is so nicely presented (insanely Instagram worthy)
James
Menu is simple, service is basic and not that personal. Coffee is pretty good the highlight of the location. Food is pretty average, no real personality and the poached eggs come out with soggy toast - a pet hate of mine.
Joanne Chiang
This place is nice and spacious. Fairly good selection on the menu, service was good. The food was also good.
Me and my boyfriend ordered a chicken turkish and I got the potato egg benny. I got a coffee and he got a ice mocha. My boyfriend really enjoyed the ice mocha and his chicken turkish, the coffee waa delicious and the potato egg benny was good the only thing that weird me out was instead of spinach in between the hash and egg they used rocket greens. Other than that everything was good.
Bambina in Italian means a girl child. Not sure how this cafe came to be named so. For me it's more of a young lady, but not sure how that translates back in Italian, either.Ā . Bambina is spacious, open, clean, modern, orderly. It's a cafe as well as a restaurant. I pass it every week reading their special dish of the day, thinking, 'oh, that sounds nice,' but have yet the pleasure of trying it out.
MissEstherZ
Cafe Bambina seems to have a lot of regulars- while waiting for the rest of the zomato meet up crew to arrive on a Sunday morning, many people came in and seemed to have usual tables and chatted comfortably with the staff- it seems like it's a favourite!

I got to try a variety of different foods- fruit salad, pancakes, smoked fish omelette and Vietnamese fish noodles which were all very nice, but my favourite would have to be the same as weitings, who also has done a review here- I normally hate oats and porridge with a passion, but the oats with quinoa and berries was so filling and looked so pretty that I got a vision of it being a tumblr picture with the backdrop of it being a rainy day and eating it in bed with a book. Very comforting and so guilt free!

I also had a moccachino and a mango and coconut smoothie which I super loved. It was definitely my favourite smoothie flavour they had.

Also the owner is soooo nice guys. My compliments to the chef, most definitely.

I'm not familiar with Newmarket at all and Bambina doesn't disappoint. I would love to try more places in the area, but I would be totally happy coming back to Bambina again!
Max Busby
This hidden gem in the heart of Newmarket is the perfect spot for a Sunday brunch. Light, airy and spacious with a wickedly inventive menu!
A group of us arrived Sunday morning and shared a range of plates, from ricotta hotcakes with seasonal fruit, to the interesting smoked fish omelette. Stand out dish for me was the Oats and Quinoa porridge:smooth, creamy and decadent with chia seeds and dried fruits was incredible.
These guys know what their doing every step of the way, from the flavours all the way down to the plating and presentation of each dish!

Also a shout out to the great mochacino from here - any cafe that uses real chocolate in their mocha gets a thumbs up from me.
Badi Yeung
Amazing service, always busy when everĀ I go to their cafĆ©. Their food is well presented and delicious. I always go for their Aubergine Panini when I ever I didn't have time to make lunch for work. I'm never disappointed about the taste and the freshness...Ā its alsoĀ filling which is always a plus ;-)

Zomato Meetup

Pros : Friendly staff
Clean fresh premises
Food presented well
Easy to find a park
Good food selection
Cons : Was not given eggs Benedict, a benchmark for me to judge breakfast cafes on.

Creep factor : prefect place to go the morning after a boozy night in Newmarket, although it is quite a clean friendly environment, so more a place you would take someone you wanted to see again or impress

All and all an enjoyable experience, friendly staff. Hero plate was the smoked fish omelette, my first time trying this dish, the flavours were perfect.

Would I go back? If in the Newmarket area I would definitely go back to this cafe, they have created a lovely environment in which to breakfast

Thanks to the chef for your great work and your staff for creating an enjoyable experience

I would like to dedicate my first Zomato review to my first ever foodie meetup! #Zomatomeetup
It was a lovely experience at Bambina, thank you so much for having me

My favourite was the smoked fish omelette and the oats and quinoa porridge.

The omelette was light and fluffy. A hint of smoked fish added a subtle saltiness to the dish, and took it to another level.

The porridge was very creamy. The waitress said they donā€™t use a lot of cream in their porridge, so it was rich but not heavy, and much healthier for you. It topped with raspberries, cranberries, and strawberries, which made it very refreshing to eat.

The pancake looked very pretty but thatā€™s all. The fresh fruit salad bowl was exactly as they promised, great quality fresh fruit with yogurt. The Vietnamese marinated fish was not Vietnamese at all, but still quite nice to eat.

The coffee, smoothie, and lemon tea were nice but I had better.

Ā

The interior was bright, clean, and fresh, staff was friendly and attentive. The food was nice but not OMG great. We had to share 5 plates of food between 10 of us, so I was still hungry quite after the meet up. Overall it was a nice experience and I enjoyed the company. Would I go there all the way to eat? Ummā€¦.maybe not

Bambina has a lovely fresh menu with little twists that get me all excited, such as their oat porridge with quinoa, chia seeds, fruit, honey and nuts.

I tried several dishes today. What I loved was the freshness in each dish and the BEAUTIFUL presentation. The smoked fish omelette was quite a funky dish, meshing fish, eggs and cheese with a side of ciabatta. Surprisingly, I loved it even though I was skeptical of having fish for breakfast.

The drinks were nice! I'd recommend the lemon ginger hot drink which made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

The staff were so lovely and catered to all our needs. Bambina would be a 7/10 for me. I enjoyed their food and the lovely open space (the cafe gets so much light). Minimal, but nice. I'd come back for the oat porridge if I was in the area - wouldn't make a trip across the bridge for this cafe alone though!

I was lucky enough to be apart of a zomato meetup today held at Babina! First time trying it, they were very kind and let the table try 5 different mains between us all. Was great being able to have a little taste of everything! Atmosphere was nice and very bright. The food was quite nice but nothing really memorable. My favorite was probably the fresh fish omelette and the quinoa chia porridge. A couple of the others were lacking in flavors. The staff were all helpful, smiley and made us feel very welcome!
Kendall Farmer
The staff at Bambina are absolutely lovely - the coffee is great, and they would always help me carry multiple coffees back to my office around the corner - now that is service! The only disappointing thing is the lack of vegetarian/vegan options which they could definitely expand on - other than that though it's a great cafe to visit.
Joanna W.
I come here often when I'm around new market, their tea's my fav, out of all that I've tried I don't think I've had anything bad. That huge table in the centre back is my go-to place, I try to pop by only when they're quiet, sit at that table, have a nice pot of tea and do whatever is needed on hand or just simply flip through the magazines.

Been family friends with the new owner so generally my mother would chat away while I mind my own business, with that said I promise I'll give a fair review ;)

I haven't tried much of their coffee, just not a coffee person in general, but out of the few mochas and lattes I've had I'm quite happy with them, and from what I've learnt they use top notch ingredients for their food although I haven't had a chance to have anything.

Tea, as I mentioned, is a must try. But as I try out new stuff I'll be sure to put my thoughts here!

Aaaaaaaand I'm back! With a foodie review this time!!

Lemme just say this first, their flat white is superb!! Well, for my taste anyways, I like smooth mild coffee with aroma :)

Came with another friend this time, ordered some simple lunch, an Aubergine Panini and Chicken Filo, tried both, loved both. They're definitely up to standard, not your average cafƩ food. Is it just me or have they gotten better?! I'd be satisfied with this quality at a fine dining restaurant!

You know how most cafƩ side salads are just too horrible to even try? ( I know I'm picky) this is not the case! I actually enjoyed it!!

Well worth the money and experience!!

If you're coming by Newmarket, this would be the cafƩ I recommend!!
Yang Emily
I have been there with my friend. We got there at 12:00,itā€™s lunch time, they were busy.Bambina looks simple and cosy place.I had Lamb cutlets and latte,my friend had Corn fritters and flat white.Nice coffeeļ¼Œamazing food, especially corn fritters, also staff are friendly.
There were many cabinet foods available and all looked delicious.I would definitedy come back and I'd like to try the prawns and beans risotto.

Ian Riley
I had the Corn Fritters, which were good, not too heavy. My girlfriend had Scrambled Eggs which were a huge portion, and tasty. The bacon for both was a touch greasy and left a smear all over the plates.

The lack of music was a bit disconcerting as the place emptied out, but the staff were super friendly and overall it was a good experience.

I'm sure we'll be back.

Bambina sits unassumingly at the far end of Teed Street in Newmarket. It's not a hefty walk from Broadway but it's closer to Gillies Ave. I imagine this to be a busy street on a weekday; it was nice and quiet that Sunday I visited.

I'm not one to catch a bus on a weekend morning to have brunch someplace, no. There's a couple of great brunch spots Downtown that I can just walk to. In saying that, I was fortunate enough to be invited to a Zomato foodie meet-up a weekend ago, that I got to try out this lovely gem of a cafĆ© in Newmarket.Ā

The place doesn't look that much from the outside but upon entering you'd be surprised at how spacious it is inside. High ceiling, big windows - I absolutely loved the big handwritten-looking menu on the wall opposite the till.

We started with drinks. I take that Bambina makes a good chai latte based on a couple of reviews I've read. They were right, the chai latte was enough to merit another visit. General comment on the coffee was great and I heard their iced mocha was good as they used ice cream instead of milk. Now, I'm trying that next time - or will probably push my companion to order that as I'll surely be ordering the chai latte again.

Foodies at table also agreed that the bread was great on all the meals that were served. I'd be happy eating even just the bread and a little bit of olive oil. The bruschetta with basil, tomato, avocado, and bocconcini at $16.50 is good value of money. If I revisit, it's definitely something I'll be ordering again.

The prawn with broad beans risotto was a clear hit at the table. It was one of my favourites as well (even though I'm allergic to shrimp, haha). I even had seconds, it was that good. I absolutely liked the smooth and creamy texture of the rice and how the flavour of the prawns and beans blended well with each other.

The greatest surprise for me was the muesli. I wouldn't order something that I can prepare easily at home, but I'd gladly order Bambina's muesli again even if I would have to pay for it. The sous chef shared the secret to their muesli, out of respect, I'm not going to share that here. I just had to say that it was VERY good, and I don't think I'm gonna be able to replicate that at home.

We were also served with Mediterranean eggs and grilled salmon with rice noodles. The salmon was a hit for some, personally, I like my salmon cooked simply so this dish was just okay for me. The Mediterranean eggs we're good but felt there was really nothing special about the dish. The only letdown would have to be the rare grilled tuna salad which was a bit under-seasoned and dry.Ā

Service was attentive but not overbearing. This really does seem like a cafĆ© where you can eat, chat, and catch up with friends.Ā

There was a good selection of cabinet food with decent prices. So, this would probably also be a spot where you can quickly grab lunches which you can take back to your desk.

All-in-all: Good food, great value for money, good ambiance, good service. If they start delivering chai lattes, you know where my money's gonna be.Ā

Will definitely revisit.

I was invited to a Zomato meet recently to try out Bambina's food and meet the owner/chef.Ā

The coffee was great and arrived pretty quickly. We had a range of dishes from the menu, and nothing disappointed - even my least favourite dishes in the selection (good food, but things I wouldn't usually order, such as mediterranean scrambled eggs, and bruschetta) were made delicious by the use of a FANTASTIC bread that was perfectly tasty and chewy and made the breakfasts feel just that much more distinguished.

The prawn and broad bean risotto was a huge hit with the table, as was the bircher muesli- and while I have a fab bircher recipe at home, I have to agree I'd still pay for Bambina's. Just the right combination of luxurious and healthy. Mmm.Ā

The standout dish of the day for me was the Asian Salmon. Hot smoked, on a bed of thin rice noodles and a salad full of coriander with a thin sauce soaking everything though, the salmon was spread with a paste of sweet ginger and chilli with all sorts of stunning asian flavours. I was genuinely surprised to find a dish like that on a brunch menu- it's definitely on the daring side- but was it ever delicious!!Ā

While I'd like to see Bambina extend their free-range offerings beyond the eggs (I am a big believer in free-range meat and this always dictates what I will order for myself when dining out), I was surprised and impressed by Bambina's offerings (and how the inside is so much more attractive than the outside!) and I'd encourage a visit.

We came here for a Zomato meet up which meant that we were lucky enough to try a smorgasbord of options from the menu. We started with coffee which they serve as a single shot as standard. This made me incredibly happy. I am not a fan of double shot coffee because I find it can be incredibly heavy with breakfast. Apparently the mocha iced coffee was amazing but I will need to go back to try it for myself.
We were served a few dishes from the breakfast menu and a few from the lunch menu. My favourite dishes were the bruschetta with tomato, avo, basil and mozzarella and the prawn risotto with broad beans and lemon. The risotto was the best risotto I've ever had. It's definitely worth a visit for the risotto alone.Ā
There were a lot of cabinet foods available and they all looked really good. There was a mixture of sweet and savoury items.
The cafe itself is pretty with lots of light and an airy feel which is fantastic for summer. There are individual tables with a few outside as well and there is one communal table if you prefer that type of dining. I quite like this trend of restaurants offering a mixture of both types of seating.
I did notice that a few people ordered small items and something to drink and were allowed to sit for as long as they liked. No one was made to feel like they were taking up space or wasting time even though it was peak brunch time on a Sunday. I really loved this as I think it's a nice space to hang out in and spend a bit of time at.

The owners have done a fantastic job with the space they've got and they also introduce an item to the special menu for a special price. They'll put the item on the permanent menu if it proves popular enough. This is a fantastic idea.
I would definitely come back but make sure to go early to make sure to get a parking as Newmarket is a pain for this.

I really enjoyed my firstĀ Bambina experience, The service wasĀ excellentĀ and the food was great. I was introduced to burcher muesli at Banbina which I plan to come back for seconds.Ā The decor was good, and the environment was very nice for a Sunday brunch. Thanks for the great service Bambina!

A good average cafe, nothing outstanding, nothing really bad. Had the bruschetta which was plain but with a nice touch of being served with a bottle of olive oil and balsamic. Smoothie was ok. Certainly not the Bambina of old.

I had tuna salad which was delicious and their food looked great and healthy. My coffee was super yummy. Service was friendly.

Absolutely appalling! It used to be great and I am fairly sure it has changed hands and now totally different. I ordered warm chicken and corn salad. The chicken was dry. The salad limp and boring. No dressing. Foul dry pieces of sour dough bread on the side! service shocking. Waitress looked like shed done an allnighter somewhere and was about to keel over with tiredness and boredom! I will never return and it used to be my "go to" place if meeting girlfriends in Newmarket. The friend I was lunching with said the wrap she bought last week from the counter, was inedible. Suggest you pick up your game or it will be lights out I suggest !

Nice coffee, water easily accessible, muffin was very yummy, and service very friendly - when she saw that I was working on my computer, she immediately offered me to use their wifi, which is a big plus. Could be open longer!
