Needed a place for brunch with family, after having tried various places a friend suggested this cafe, and to be honest have not found any better cafe anywhere in Takanini. Place was packed but staff were so efficient and yet friendly even with so much pressure. The food is really awesome. Wide variety of cabinet food.

I have always enjoyed coming here, and have done for as long as it’s been open. Today they were very busy, but don’t forget to smile, don’t just put the tea or the scone or whatever down, as if it’s a real effort. And when the tables are being cleared, how about once it’s cleared, it’s given a nice wipe with a clean warm cloth. The table I’m talking about had a lot of people dining at it, when I was there, we still have bugs and germs around, it takes a few minutes to do this. Don’t forget these two things, they are important. I’ll be watching when I’m in next to see if it’s done, I eat at many places and I’ve always seen the tables cleared and wiped, and also service with a smile 😊 no matter how busy it is.

Columbus Takanini is probably the best Columbus out there. The staff are always lovely, it's set up in a nice way, it's clean and the food is amazing every time. The coffees and got chocs are top notch. Happy to travel to this Columbus over others!!! Their bread pudding is gorgeous and no doubt is just to use up old bread...well bring it! It's to die for. Thanks Takanini 😊

Great food and very nice humble owners, dogs are welcome in this cafe which is a bonus for pet lovers. Food is so nice and always served hot and fresh, you can taste the freshness of food straight away. So easy to visit with plenty of parking and nice garden sitting area.

We popped in for breakfast before we started our 4hr journey home and I can honestly say, our breakfast set us up for the day. The service was helpful and efficient. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with bacon which did not take long to arrive at all and it looked absolutely delicious - the quality of the food was great and the presentation was obviously amazing. Kudos to the chef who we thanked on our way out. Well done to the team at Columbus Cafe!

We stopped going here for brunch when it changed hands. Thought we'd give it another go last Saturday and it was good! Service has stepped back up, eggs cooked perfectly. We will be back !

I went there to have some lunch with my husband today and i was blown away with their hospitality. Staff is absolutely amazing, they keep on coming to tables to ask if everything is okay, topping up water, providing more tissues. Very relaxed environment. It was quite busy when we got there and we were a bit worried if it will take longer but the staff have provided everything on time. Coffee was awesome and food was very tasty, certainly going there again. Well done :-)

Good range of standard cafe options. Pancakes sweet and fluffy, grilled haloumi salad was good. If you’re not stopping for lunch, take your keep cup for a takeaway coffee while you stroll around Mitre 10. Smallish space so tables fills up quickly on busy weekend

Everything was nice except the staff need to be mindful of the garden door n close it! Not trained in respect for the customer. Also their hair needs to be tied up not dangling over the plates

We chose this cafe because it has ample seating for larger groups. We had 22 people in our group. The staff were very accommodating and maintained an excellent service for those in the group who needed a second coffee or more muffins to eat. A great two hours in a great cafe. Will certainly come again. Thankyou Columbus Southgate.

First time st this cafe. The food and service was very good and the staff seemed to be working as a team. They were pleasant and obliging. Being part of the garden centre helped make the atmosphere very pleasant. Are already making arrangements to have coffee there again.
Finance Today
We went to this cafe for a business meeting, absoutely love the atmosphere. Lovely garden outside with plenty of water fountains, very nice and clean cafe, the food and drinks were made to perfection. Staff is super nice and friendly. I will be going there agin for more meetings. Keep up the good work guys, well done. Their choclate brownie is absoultely delicious.

I went there multiple times. They changed quite a lot in term of the food presentation and some of the lunch menu. During weekend, it usually quite pack. Quite enjoy sitting there and have a cup of coffee. The food menu a bit pricy but the coffee is good. I ordered their fish and chip which is spot on, fresh and nice but my wife ordered waffle fried chicken, the chicken is dry and waffle is too tough to bite...a little disappointed but coffee saves the day...

This places is so yummy been here a couple of times now and it’s simple but so lovely. Never busy and right at the garden centre so nice and peaceful. Here is the BLT with chips and a chicken wrap.
