Kauri Kingdom Cafe - Awanui - Photo album

Wow, what an incredible experience. I called in to Kā Uri this morena on my way north to Cape Reinga. This place is absolutely stunning. You definitely need to visit when in the area. The kauri products, exhibitions, and video screened on a huge wrap around wall were very impressive, but most of al
Stopped here with my small tour group on the way to Cape Reinga. We used to stop here all the time privately and as guides with groups and are happy to see at least the Cafe open already (the showroom/shop is not far behind I was told). The food was very tasty, prompt service, hot drinks and very cl
Just opened in New building. So worth a stop. You can walk I side a Kauri tree. Food was fantastic. Kumera (carrot) cake was to die for. Sausage roll was fantastic. Took home some pies too. Highly recommend a stop.
Nice place to stop for a break, simple food and drink at a reasonable price. The friendly service makes it even better. Do spend some time to look around the shop, you can climb up the inside of a giant tree.
The cafe food is excellent and prices astonishingly favourable. The kauri stairs have a beautiful new setting, the static table setting display is beautiful. But...the range of unique kauri products displayed for sale is very disappointing, and nothing like the range in the old kauri kingdom. Plenty
Fish and chips were great! Also really good at adjusting dishes to accommodate food intolerances.
The cafe shares space with a Kauri wood carpentry workshop, stunning Kauri gallery and small shop. A highly recommended stop for several reasons - the staircase carved into the trunk of a Kauri tree trunk, the waka (canoe), the gallery (check the dining table - just STUNNING), and the cafe, which is
Beautiful site, friendly staff and excellent craftmanship. Worth visiting.
Stopped in at the new cafe back in their old site (new building), staff are wonderful, so friendly, food is soooo good, perfect winter day, no wind or rain, sunny and warm, we sat outside and enjoyed our meal.
Didn't have coffee there. The tree is mind blowing and I am told is only a third the size of what was found
Awesome coffee/ slice and staff were great
Interesting displays, particularly at very rear of shop where there's a short video clip on a loop, showing the sheer immensity of these ancient trees as they are being 'salvaged' by trucks and lorries that look dwarfed by their load - particularly the very end shot of a section of trunk on the back
Amazing Kauri staircase trunk in the shop. Yummy food. Friendly staff who let us park our caravan in the carpark while we drove to Cape Reinga and back.
Absolutely wonderful service with a genuine smile and very clean well presented in the store itself. As for the warm welcome in the cafe no rewena bread in the cabinet they were more than happy to serve me with a freshly baked bread generously filled with fresh salad more than enough for 2 adults 5*
Amazing place and wonderful friendly staff. Food was amazing
We loved our visit to KA-URI cafe, the venue is clean, light and airy, the food is delicious and well priced, an excellent experience.
