A cool spot in the heart of Birkenhead to grab a beer and relax in the courtyard or inside! The courtyard is sealed and heated for the winter months which is lovely. The Barman is knowledgeable on the beers and friendly. Lovely spot for a catch up

Great craft beer bar. Wish it was closer to home. Food is always good and the staff are helpful. The BBC beers are top notch too. Never had a bad night there.

Great spot for a beer!!! Always cool to see a local place run by such lovely people doing so well. $20 burger and beer special on a Monday which is hard to go past.

These guys are great, one of our favourite locals. Haven't really had food here, beers are great, staff are super friendly (big ups to Lewis and Nicola who are truly amazing people!), and so many craft beer options!

Best calamari on the shore. Tried calamari somewhere else but not as well cooked: at BBC the calamari is tender on the inside and crunchy on the outiside. A+. Tried the cigar borek, tasty as. All of that along with a BBC pilsner, my favourite beer on tap. No wonder why I keep coming back. Awesome staff. I am always looked after very well by Lewis and Nykola. Keep doing a great job guys =)

Love having the BBC as my local. Always a good atmosphere, a friendly crowd and a great craft beer selection. The free popcorn is always an added bonus, plus the outside space is dog friendly. The food is ok for snacking. If they got themselves a pizza oven I would be rating this as 5 stars!

Go here regularly - it's my local. Service always excellent, and beers are great and always changing. Best place to get a craft beer on the shore.

Been here many times! For a bar nestled in the suburbs of Birkenhead you couldn’t ask for much more. Great selection of beer, the servers are always really friendly and all up a good atmosphere! I think the chef has changed over time, but the core menu has stayed the same with typical pub grub with some standouts to (the calamari and ribs go down nicely). For the price and for where you are you can’t ask for much more. Will keep coming back that’s for sure! And if you’re a local and haven’t been, try this place out…

Been here a couple of times now! Really love they are dog friendly and the pub quiz was run extremely well. Food is really nice too with a pretty wide selection. Beer is great 👍 a great local venue!

The BBC is an absolute institution among freehouses, which I cannot recommend enough. Impeccable food, great range of beers and cocktails, and top tier staff with a vast array of knowledge to assist you in your drink selection. To not visit the BBC would be a missed opportunity for an excellent evening.

I'm not a local as such but regularly drop in for a couple of beers while our daughter attends a Shore Dance lesson around the corner. My wife teases me that I must feel like Nigel no Friends drinking alone but BBC is truely a place that is so welcoming to all. Extensive craft beer selection and great local pub atmosphere. We've had a couple of family meals there too now and the food and service were fantastic.

Great Venue for a few drinks, a special date or a big night out. Really good selection of New Zealand craft beer. Absolutely amazing food and such a nice vibe inside and out. A must visit when you are in Birkenhead.

A fab little bar right on the main street of Birkenhead. Choose your beers for a flight and enjoy the eclectic & wide range on offer. I would have liked more info on the beers we chose (maybe make up coasters w the beer logo on one side and a buttload of info on the other?), but it was still a lovely experience. Will definitely be back to check out the food options, and for more of whatever that yummy pink beer was!

Total overhaul of my previous review years ago. I love this local haunt. Everything from the staff conversations to the quaint toilets; from the indoor bar space to the outdoor heated seating.
