Review Art Thai Restaurant - Birkenhead

-curries are amazing, perfect with rice -the fish cake is just a reheat from a ready-made pack but they did put effort in making that sauce, adding onions cucumber and carrot to the sweet and chilli sauce. -reaping tiger is simple but nice, love the kick of the fresh bird eye chillies. -friendly service!reasonable pricing!

Absolutely outstanding. Had a meal before the boat back to Belfast. Staff were magnificent as I had booked and had to ring to say we were running half an hour late. Food was really superb, would go again tomorrow if was local. Highly recommend

Wow, wow, wow. What an experience we had. I went there with my mum and my son. We arrived as they just open, it was a bit cold but soon after it warmed up so we were very happy. They didn't really had a real high chair but one you attached to the chair so could take that as a feedback to maybe invest in one real highchair but it wasn't a big issue. Upon sitting the vibe and atmosphere of restaurant was amazing! And authentic musi all the pictures paintings, decorations and figurines. We was really pleased with my mum. It wasn't busy and food arrived quickly! It was presented beautifully, fresh! Cooked on the spot bursting with flavour! Hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten so far! We are going there today as well. What was amazing, a lot vegetarian and vegan options with is a huge plus. Keep up the good job. Thank you

I just left Thai Rooster Kitchen, having had an excellent meal/evening there. The food was delicious, and looked just as good. The service was as friendly as it was polite and efficient (despite it being quite a busy night), and everything seemed so clean, fresh, and welcoming. I'm particularly impressed with their full vegan menu - which isn't a common thing to find - and I thoroughly enjoyed my vegan pad thai! I cant wait to go back!

Great of them to have a vegan menu! Although a vegan set menu is missing, there is a vegetarian one. Would also be good for more vegan choices to be available eg more curries with tofu/ mock. The mushroom satay is underwhelming- just pieces of mushroom with sauce. Otherwise. The cooking is great - fantastic flavours and good portion sizes.

Absolutely loved this restaurant. Wanted to go after fab reviews. Everything about the experience fantastic!., lovely service, gorgeous restaurant and the food is absolutely stunning. Everything we ate was beautiful. Enjoyed mixed sharing platter, crisp duck, weeping tiger, chicken pad Thai and lamb shank curry. Nicest Thai food we have ever eaten, flavours outstanding - can’t wait to return..

Lovely place. Nice decor. and very clean. Staff were pleasant & helpful. Service was a little slow - but to be fair we did just pop in on the off chance they had a table free, and they were very busy. Food was well presented and tasted lovely, so was worth the little wait. Would definitely recommend Thai Rooster Kitchen.

We love the food here. We usually order through Just Eat but ordered directly through the restaurant which was just as easy. Food delivered on time, piping hot and delicious. This is around our 6th take out I think and it never disappoints. We are going to dine in next time!! Thankyou ‘Thai Rooster Kitchen’ for another satisfying Thai sensation.

Had a great meal here last night & service was great too. We started with the sharing platter, which was all all delicious, followed by the Nua Pad Num Man Hoy beef dish and the duck dish Ped Kra Pao ,all amazing...accompanied by some sticky rice and salt and pepper chips- so tasty and spicy too, lol. The total bill coming to just over £72 but did include over £20 of drinks, so overall a very reasonable price. Thanks to the lovely staff and we will definitely be back.

Absolutely excellent, speedy and polite service with some of the best Thai food I have ever had!

Ordered as takeaway. Disappointing.chicken tough and chewy, dish had large pieces of potato which was under cooked and hard to eat. A sprinkling of nuts included and some onion. Flavour of curry was good but overall the dish was unimpressive.

Come here quite frequently with the family, and always a great time. Excellent curries, and some awesome Prawn toast!
You have to order the rice separately, and they never ask you if you want it, but other than that, great service. (I have a daughter with peanut allergies, and it has never been an issue)

We ordered the Thai Green Curry - I can honestly say this was the best Green Curry I’ve ever had. Creamy and packed with flavour. I will definitely be back!

Really enjoyed our first meal at Art Thai,
We had green curry, yellow curry, cashew stir fry, pad thai vege and ck and few entrees.

Lovely authentic Pad thai we had in years - I tend to feel like many pad thai these days have tomato saucy taste to them.. But Art thai had lovely authentic flavours that you'd look for in Pad thai.

Yellow curry and curry puffs were slightly sweet to my taste, but was still lovely.

Would definitely return and dine in next time :)

Absolutely stunning despite being tiny & super cozy with a nice relaxing vibe, very warm & friendly service and the food is probably the best Thai I’ve had in Birkenhead/Birkdale/Beach Haven area. Would definitely recommend this to many and go back again.

Lovely meal ordered through Uber eats. we had the chicken satay as a starter which was just soaking in satay sauce.
I had the Tom Yum soup with added chicken, the taste was fresh and the lemongrass and coconut flavours burst through with every mouthful. Just the right amount of heat on this cold winter night. My partner had the duck curry which he just loved. Would recommend.

Was having a BYO night with some friends, picked Art randomly, and boy we made the right choice! The space was cozy and nice, with not too many people so we could talk easily. The food was also amazing. We had the duck curry which comes with rice, beef basil stirfry, and the best pad thai in my life! There were 3 of us, and those 3 dishes was just the right amount. Regret not taking pictures during dinner. Will definitely come again!

The food here is always flavoursome, not the biggest meals, but seem to be just the right size. My only gripe is it doesn't seem to have too much atmosphere, it's a bit stark, I like the authentic look, I can have stark at European restaurants. But the food is worth it!

I've loved Thai food for 20+ years, started with Thai Friends Parnell then numerous places around the World and in New Zealand on a weekly basis.
Tried this two weeks ago and have had it 3 times since. Consistent, quality ingredients including chicken, well cooked and very tasty. And they are not tight on fresh basil in the basil chilli chicken stir fry. Most impressed. Vaughan

We got takeaway from here for the first time in three years and I don't know why we didn't get it sooner!! They mentioned it would take 20minutes and guess what, it did to the dot!! We also asked for "hot" and found that they actually delivered on this, plus as well the food was delicious and well priced! It looks small when you get it, but don't be fooled, it's very filling!

Great location, very friendly staff. Mixed entree was really good, ordered the garlic & pepper pork stir fry and the beef praram, the flavors of both were beautiful but the meat was a bit tough and chewy which spoilt the dish. Not to sure if I will go back.

My wife and I go regularly. Our favourites are 'beef stirfry' and 'yellow chicken curry' respectively. If you have a palate for hot, the Tom Yum is just that! YUM. Lovely, quiet ambience and the service is top class. Highly recommend. Barry and Kristin.

YUM YUM YUM!! Tried this Thai restaurant for the first time last week and everything was delicious! I got takeout Tom Kha soup with Chicken, stir fry Cashew chicken and Spring rolls. Everything was so fresh and the flavour was amazing. Last night I tried the Thai green curry with chicken and the chefs special entrees. Curry was fantastic, entree was ok. The only little gripe I have is you have to pay extra for rice with all the mains. I'll have to try dining in soon.

1 of the best Thai Cuisines in Auckland with no doubt
Small place but amazing food with amazing ambience and amazing service
Thai Green Curry is 11 out of 10 A+
Other Thai Restaurants in town have to beat their Thai Green Curry
Good work guys keep it up
We will be back soon with more people
Ron
( Birkenhead)

We were quite a big group who didnt pre-order so food took about 40 mins to be served which was quite a long wait but food was great anyway, servings were enough to share between 2-3 people. I really enjoyed the pra lad prik-really nice flavour. Beef num tok was nice too but not enough beef to go with the salad. We asked them to add chili to the art rice and it was a great combination!

@ Art Thai restaurant with friends, great food & service, Would definitely come back, the prawns, the beef the everything
Yum, but I I'm told it's anti social to do this review right now so night all.

I have some uncertainty revealing the nature of this superb little restaurant. The owners greet you as old friends but remain professional. Simple decor and just the right amount of light is relaxing which I like because a pleasant greeting and ambiance allows a place to become home even for a short time.
For a minimal amount your meal is reasonably timely and beautifully served with all the Thai flavours present.
Try the curry puffs to start, the pastry is light and the vegetables within nice]y seasoned.Any of the main dishes are balanced and truly delicious.
I prefer vegetarian as happen to believe animals have feelings too.
Avoid overeating because the ice cream and banana desert with a special custard is a surprise.
Here the chef goes slightly but splendidly mad. Please do try it.
V.H.

A couple of friends and I visited Art Thai a few nights ago. Convenient location with lots of car parking available under Highbury mall. The restaurant is on the corner with lots of windows so lots to watch when dining. Also lots of different types of shops visible to build conversation with. Good to keep things flowing if you're with someone you don't know too well.

The service was ok. Not high class but more than acceptable. I felt there wasn't too much of an outstanding character with Art Thai. No background music that I noticed, no outstanding smells or obvious atmosphere though, one thing they got right was the food.

Could have done with more rice but the food was stunning. I got the Penang which shocked me at how tasty it was. Also, though the rice portion was small, each rice dish came in a slightly different design. Mine came as a teddy bear which I sadly had to assassinate to get eating, haha. I'll definitely go back.

Small and simple place. Almost full when we went in. Friendly service. Food was very very tasty. We had soup, curry and fish. They were all very fresh and super yum. Was highly recommended by our accommodation and they deserve it.

Despite the plain appearance, Art Thai provided s one of the best culinary Thai experience this side of Bangkok. A real treat and will certain visit again. Dine in and take away.

The roast duck curry here is outstanding, and the service is super fast and friendly. A little pricey overall but the quality of the food makes it worth it. The prawn toast is also very yummy! Best Thai in Birkenhead for sure.

3- Nov 14
Dinner here was just amazing very tasty & enjoyable. Actualy wanted to tip my bowl up & get every last bit out if it wasnt for the full house i would have. Very friendly staff & quick after ordering 2 entree & 2 mains we left feeling good. A must try if you'revin the area.

Only order takeaway from here. Arrived at 7.30 on Saturday night, had a group of 4 people, asked for water at the table, it didn't arrive, asked 30 minutes later and again never got water, over an hour later they decided to get us some water, meanwhile we had been waiting for our food we watched another couple who came in after us get there food and then a 2nd couple that came in after us get their food too! All the while piles of takeaway food was going out the door.
Food when it did arrive was missing peanuts as the menu said and another dish was chicken when we asked for beef. Food taste was good, shame about the rubbish service that did come with a smile... go figure.

Went there on a Sunday night with the family and had a really excellent meal, good service, and very reasonable prices. We asked for mild since there were kids, and some dishes were still a touch spicy for them, so just bear that in mind. Flavours were excellent - the duck curry in particular was superb!

Absolutely love Art Thai, the food is sensational, the service is awesome, presentation is great. Very reasonable prices. Best Thai around.. Awesome!! We dine here on a very regular basis & have never been disappointed. Thanks For a fantastic restraunt

This would have to be the worst Thai dinning experience I've ever had, pawn cakes were raw and the waitresses excuse was these were tricky to cook! Chicken Panang Curry had split and Larb Gai was very average.

Best Thai on the Shore 'Hands Down'!!!!
We love Thai!!! And no matter how many we try - Thai Art, always comes up 'Trumps'!!! All Prawn dishes are 'To Die For' and Tom Yum Soup with Prawns is our favourite!!!
Love all the attention to detail, freshness and Superb Service too!!!! Oh and can't beat the fact that its BYO and a very short trip to best Movie theatre on North Shore - 'The Bridgeway'!!! Why not combine the two??!!!
Perfect Date Nite!!! 10/10

This place didn't have any reviews and was in Birkenhead so was a bit skeptical. Have to say though it was awesome. Quite a small place, kinda cosy, waitress was lovely and service was great.

Food was so good! I had Cashew Nut Chicken and my date had Garlic Chicken. Really, really good.

Prices were around $20 per plate and with BYO, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Definitely will be going there again. : )
