One of the best Mexicans I have had for a while. They provide good service and you can get a lot of food for your money. I'll definitely visit again.

Five stars because the refried beans were so good! That can make or break it for me. Nice large portions here and fun options. I liked my flauta, although it felt more like a burrito as flautas usually are long and thin but it still tasted delicious.

Fresh, quality food done well. The owner is so sweet and genuine. Their house made chilli sauce is so good and can be purchased by the jar. Really great vibes and love the local art hung up. We can't wait to come back.

Good food and portions. The burrito beef was a bit overcooked. Also I personally prefer all the ingredients inside the burrito rather than having them separately on the plate but that's just personal preference. Very friendly staff and amazing service. They give you some tortilla chips and salsa while you're waiting for your food which is quite nice. Overall very good restaurant definitly recommended.

Tried this place for a casual dinner with a mate and the food was great with generous sized portions. The staff were kind and gave us complimentary Corn Chips with Salsa. Would go back for sure.

What an awesome little restaurant! The atmosphere is great for an evening meal, the staff is very friendly, and the meals are served on hot large plates. I have not found many decent mexican restaurants in NZ, but this place is my new favorite. Chimichanga with beef was delicious and the beans and rice were seasoned just right. Their salsa is very simple and tasty as well. I will definitely try to come here again. Reminds me of mexican restaurants back in the US.

Absolutely delicious food & massive quantities that even my greedy self couldn't finish! I usually dislike corn chips but so surprisingly loved them here! The salsa is so uniquely flavourful with a spice - wow! The guac is great, too, despite it being a simple 'dish'. Both the Feijoa Lemonade and Currant Crush sodas were perfect pairings for our mains. Speaking of, my god, how good is the food! The Chimichanga couldn't be better and the Quesadillas were fantastic, too. Stuffed with heaps of tasty meat, plenty of cheese and other great ingredients... helluva meal! Our server tonight was lovely, too - we were totally pleased with the service. Can't wait to return!

Birkenhead's best keep secret. Unassuming exterior and decor but excellent service and food! Highly recommended.

Love the lasagne, staff was friendly ordered a large beef lasagne. Fresh beef vegetables were very fresh, came with guacamole and chef also left me with a side of corn chips as compliment yum! Definitely will be back to visit :)

10/10 experience at the Burrito House. The service was phenomenal and the restaurant itself was cosy and clean. We were informed of the specials and were given complementary chips and salsa. We ordered:<br/>- The special nachos: Good portion size, good amount of guacamole and toppings (possibly could have done with more sour cream). Very very tasty. We were given an option of pulled beef or mince and were ask how spicy we wanted our meal.<br/>- Large Chicken burrito: Not as tasty and authentic as the nachos. The burrito was slightly on the small side and the chicken was slightly bland and dry but everything was fresh and still tasty. <br/>We were also provided with a number of sauces to try. <br/>Excellent prices too. Plus 15% off with Zomato Gold! Will definitely be back.

This is BY FAR the best Mexican food in Auckland. Everything tastes so fresh, their in house Chilli is delicious if you are into spicy dishes. We’ve tried multiple Items and every time we have been so satisfied! The owners are also incredibly friendly, you can tell they put love into everything they make.

We loved everything we had here. From special nachos, prawns chimichanga, chicken enchiladas to chicken burrito. I have to say their housemade chilli sauce is lip smacking hot ! Must try !

I had their food takeaway. I tried 'Prawn Burrito large'<br/><br/>The service guy was very kind to offer some water while waiting.<br/><br/>This was my second time I tried Mexican food in my life. The first time was from a shopping mall. It's healthy that beans are used for the dish.<br/><br/>I wish if there were more flavour in the rice, something like more chicken or garlic taste in it, could be better.<br/><br/>Overall I enjoyed this dish with the sauce attached. Before ordering, they asked how I can manage the level of spiciness and gave me the 🌶 sauce mild😊<br/><br/>I hope I can dine in next time.<br/><br/>Dine in experience on my 2nd visit:<br/><br/>From the start till the end we received a really polite & kind service.<br/><br/>As a starter we were given a plate of complementary nacho chips.<br/>The following food were all nice and tasty.<br/><br/>The coffee we ordered for after meal came along with a piece of cookie.<br/>Such a wonderful feeling that we were spoiled this much😁<br/>What surprised me more was that the coffee there tasted so great. Go there if u want a nice but not expensive meal :) This cute little cafe offers a variety of Mexican cuisine. Parking is easy. The owner is very very friendly and welcoming. Food has good taste and big portion. I love it when he provides us some complimentary corn chips & salsa as starter. My whole dining experience here is just amazing. Definitely go back again whenever I crave for some Mexican food on the shore 💕

Our favourite restaurant. Food is delicious and very inexpensive! Big, hearty plates of food, with 4-5 yummy chilli sauces provided at each table. Free corn chips and salsa provided as a starter. The weekly $10 dinner special is an absolute steal. Owners are truly lovely. We expressed disappointment at not being able to eat there during a birthday on Monday (closed on Mondays), and they offered to open just for us! Can’t rave enough about this place.

The owner is very friendly I mean really really kind. The food is amazing and location is great. I said I love spicy food and the owner offered 4 difference chili sauces. Definitely will visit again.

Cute Cafe with excellent food and customer service! Have been a couple of times now for my Mexican fix and absolutely love the food here. Owners are sweet and very helpful, prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. Great to have another cuisine option in Highbury.

My partner and I were looking for to eat somewhere for a late dinner and found this beautiful place! The staff were SO friendly and welcoming, we both had the burritos and all of the food was extremely fresh and had a wonderful homemade feel to it all. Plus their homemade salsa is to die for! Will be back again and again!

The food here is great! We’ve tried the nachos and the Enchilladas so far and we were not disappointed. If you like a lil bit of chilly kick with your food, definitely try some of their La costena red jalepeno sauce! And the owners are the sweetest people. I always appreciate a warm smile with my food experience.

This is a very cute, understated Mexican cafe in the heart of Birkenhead, with tables covered with red and white checkered tablecloths and the chair backs are shaped like teacups. Their menu has a fantastic variety of meals to choose from. I had the chimichanga, hubby had the quesadilla and stepson had the tacos. We all agree the food is utterly delicious. I can’t remember the last time I had such yummy Mexican food!

Loved the food here1. Generous Quantity & Good Food: When you get a large amount of food you kind of expect the food to be shitty, but it wasn't the case here! Vegetables were all fresh and tasted so good. 2. Good Price Range3. Chef & Server they both took our orders and they were kind and considerate. 4. Ice coffee was really good. If you have a sweet tooth, try the ice coffee!<br/>Going back there again to try other mexican food.

Love how authentically homemade this felt, the owners are really lovely, the food felt really fresh. There is a fantastic range of chili sauce and even homemade chili sauce, and there's complimentary chips!!!

Nice food, great service. $23 for vege burrito and beef enchilada. Got complimentary chips with salsa which was awesome! Hope to see this place do well!
