Review Fowler Oysters - Bluff

Danny
A kiwi & first time to Bluff. The bottom of the South Island, just stunning coastal scenery. Felt privileged to be in this quaint seaside village on the second day of the Bluff Oyster season. The shop was packed, but service came with a charming smile & our deep fried Oysters and chips were perfect, the fresh half shelled Oysters fresh clean devine and the grade A punnet ones perfection also. A must have delicacy when in bluff and worth every cent. 🤤🥰😁

The place has plenty of tables and chairs and parking. The oyster is pretty good. Half a dozen bluff oysters for $20

We rolled past this place on our way to Bluff. We got a dozen Bluff oysters, 2 pieces of Blue Cod and chips for lunch. The fish was really soft and fresh and the oysters were simply divine. Will grab more oysters on our way back up north again.

Just had a marvelous early lunch here. We had raw oysters on the half shell, some cooked battered oysters and a wonderful fish called Green Bone. The Green Bone was so fresh and cooked to perfection and was one of the best pieces of fish that I have ever had (and I had never heard of it before. The lovely ladies who served it said it was a kind of Butterfish). This little stop became our highlight of the day.

The oysters were cooked to perfection. The batter was crispy, not soggy. The oysters weren't dry. The chips were cooked perfectly 🥰 Best lunch. Fresh ones were good with a squeeze of lemon, too. Would highly recommend to stop here if trying oysters for the first time.

Great fish and battered oyster, with fluffy and perfectly cooked fish. The half shelled Oysters were quite fast and juicy.

Very yummy oysters , very special the way they serve it! In a jar, it was great for us who travel in a van. We came 10 kind before they close and got the last two bowls of fresh oysters. No oysters until better weather! Call before to avoid disappointment!

Called in was a real windy day and bought 2 dozen raw oysters. They were so good forgot all about the wind. The service was tops. The menu seemed good as were the prices but was just interested in the oysters. Well worth a call in.

Being English, I've had a lot of fish and chips over the years. My blue cod and chips with oysters was the best I've ever had the pleasure of eating. You could taste the freshness of the fish, and the delicate batter and gorgeously crispy chips were the perfect accompaniment. Service was also exceptionally quick. YUM.

Best Oysters, extremely fresh. And the best fish and chips we've had in Invercargill! The portions were huge so one portion of fish could quite happily serve 2.
