Review Stella's Cafe - Bluff

We opted for a Chinese takeaway from Stella's and the first thing that hot us was the portion size....huge!! Seriously one meal could feed 2 people easy! The food was packed well for takeaway and we chose to drive out of town a it and sit eating looking out to sea. Food was good , hot and tasty.

This place was 🔥 took the whānau here for a feed and it was on! Pricing is so much better than the alternative and the chips being made underdone worked nicely 👌🏾 Cheese burger was dope and the fish was clean! Lastly, I rate the owners who work hard and are a long way from their Tūrangawaewae of China. Great manaaki and solid service! 加油!

In regards to the fish 'n chips, great food, nicely cooked. Lamb burger is excellent. Scoop could be a little bigger, 2 and a half scoops was more like 1 and a half. Not open Sundays.

Great Fish and Chips! The only place open in Bluff on a Monday night! Stella's saved the night!

Had lunch here today, fish and chips. Had locally ocean caught blue cod. Beautifully cooked, just melted in your mouth. Friendly staff, good seating to dine in, or if you prefer you can take away as well. Good coffee to. Popular with the local Bluff Residents.

Wasn't going to leave Bluff without nabbing some Bluff oysters & blue cod & chips. Stella's didn't disappoint. The fish was beautifully cooked, moist and coated in a crispy batter-not the standard soggy coating you get in so many other places. Chips were crinkle cut, well cooked. My only grizzle is that they don't do half a scoop. Portion was too big for me and as I was flying out the next am, I couldn't take the uneaten ones home. Hate wasting good food.

Oh my very happy with the steak & Chicken burgers with chips. Best meal we’ve had in the South Island this holiday.

This is my second trip to Bluff in four years and I haven't been disappointed by a visit to Stella's. Can highly recommend the Bluff breakfast, a breakfast in the tradition of my father with fried potatoes poached or fried eggs, a very large sausage and helping of bacon with toast. Perfect start to the day in these cooler climbs. Their omelets are delicious too. They serve great coffee and a ample hot chocolate. The decor is straight out of the 80's greasy spoon, quaint but functional. Seating is tight in the booths but not confining. It really is a joy to dine here.

Okay fish and chips, a bit to oily but nice batter. One scoop/$2 chip probably not enough for 2 hungry people but was fine for us because we had ordered other stuff.
