What a great little find!! Definitely the best cafe in Botany Town Centre BY FAR. Coffee is always hot. Staff always have a smile. Love the scones. They give you REAL BUTTER!! Highly recommend :)

Tasty food and passable coffee. Food prices a little high but in keeping with the area. Hospitable owner and friendly staff. Let me "camp" there for a few hours while I worked and waited for someone. Seats not overly comfortable, but OK. Nice interior decor and pleasantly mild ambiance.

A lovely, homey cafe tucked at the edge of Botany Town Centre. The friendly husband and wife team cook and bake every one of the delectable sweets and savouries on offer- and it goes without saying, the coffee is excellent. Plenty of outdoor patio seating, and cozy indoor seating. Suitable for groups. Family friendly. Chill vibe. Wifi and power outlets available. Wheelchair accessible.

A cafe run by senior couple. The lady owner treated us with excellent hospitality. Really exceeded our expectations as the place offers ambient environment to enjoy our coffee and homemade delicacies prepared with such motherly love. Defo returning back if we stop by in Auckland.

great service & food but wish theyd tidy up a little, felt like I was sitting in a storage area or a basement or something, the files etc just ruined the vibe. it cld be a nice, cozy little spot.

The ethnic Vietnamese Pho soup is very good. We tried chicken and beef and both were excellent. The seating is a bit cramped, otherwise I would have given 5 stars. Discounts for gold card! Coffee is good too.

Has the most awesome cup of coffee today from Sierra. Made my morning. There were no chicken croissants and I asked if I could have one instead of a Ham and cheese one and the lovely lady made one right there and then for me with no fuss. Awesome service. Thank you!

Nice little cafe cosy for an afternoon tea.

I ordered the mocha from this place and the coffee was average. I think the thing that let me down is that it is almost the same price as the other cafes around but the quality is not as good.

My chai latte was really good. The ambiance was as expected from a coffee shop where you can relax and think over your day. Nice and courteous staff. =)

Best coffee in the Botany town centre area in my opinion. The man is quiet but always very friendly and fast. My favourite morning spot before work

Worst service i have ever received. Ordered our food and had to walk to the public toilets as they dont have one. Two ladies arrived and sat next to us, ordered and received their food before i then received my lunch. My sister did not receive her burger (which she said tasted exactly like the supermarket patties she buys weekly) for another 15 minutes and i had to eat mine so it didnt go cold while she waited. Our drinks then arrived another 10 minutes later. After asking them if the drink i had ordered was soy i was told it was not, something i had made very clear when ordering. Told them i no longer wanted my drink and was given my 7.50 for the drink back to which i was told the rush is why the food was so late and my order was made wrong when no more than 3 extra groups had arrived while we were there. Please be careful with this place if you have dietary requirements!

I really love the new look of this cafe. The staff are very welcoming. The cabinet food looks amazing. Lots of variety for those with different intolerance. Eggs Bene is Devine 😋 Will always go back because this cafe is lovely and cozy.

One of the newest cafe in botany down centre. Like the fact that it provides power outlets and USB charging outlets for patrons. Coffee is good. Staffs are nice.

This place has been given abit of a makeover! Which is nice as it gives a modern vibe. Me and hubby came on for a quick brunch ordered eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and spinach and I had the French toast- yum . On a hot day we both had ice mochas and iced chocolate- abit overpriced I must say for what it is. Overall Breakfast was lovely. Great service:)

I have never given this place a second look because it did not look inviting or a nice place to sit and have a coffee. However the whole cafe has been remodeled and it looks amazing. From afar it is attractive and I was very excited to try it.

The staff were a bit preoccupied as they had just opened and were trying to figure everything out. Yet they were still really smiley and friendly and I was not bothered at all.

I ordered a spinach and chickpea roll, and a hot chocolate. The roll was amazing, I could not fault it. Would go back just for that.

Overall I'm so so impressed with their reopening and will definitely visit when I'm in Botany 😁

EDIT: Been here again, same experience as above. I have added new photos 😊

I deleted my previous review as the cafe has undergone an extensive rebuild and has just reopened. The new layout is great, there's much more space inside. The menu is compact but sufficient. The latte and iced chocolate were both good and on our second visit we tried a couple of the cakes which did not disappoint. This is a tiny space and finally they've made the best possible use of the space.

Going by recent reviews it seems this cafe had been going downhill for some time.
Went for breakfast this morning with a voucher and ordered eggs bene with salmon. I was the only customer at the time so assumed it'd be pretty quickly served. Took almost 15 minutes for my breakfast to arrive!
So what can I say about my experience? Food was disappointing and took too long to be served.
The bread seemed stale, the smoked salmon was far too salty (maybe low quality salmon?), and they were so stingy on the hollandaise sauce it was literally a light drizzle, even though hollandaise sauce is a key ingredient in eggs benedict. I had to ask for more and they reluctantly supplied more on a tiny little dish.
I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this nonsense, definitely would not recommend.

Had breakfast this morning - asked for bacon and eggs on toast with eggs "over easy, medium". Eggs arrived sunny side up looking raw, so asked to have them properly cooked. They came back 4 minutes later still no better, decided to eat the bacon with the ciabatta toast as I was really hungry only to discover the bread was stale and rock hard, so I drank my coffee and left. Surely if a cafe does not know what over easy medium means, they shouldn't be in business. The "toast" would have made great weapons if I had been attacked. Will not go near this place again!

Sierra Botany is my local cafe, I've been there about 3-4 times, every time we order the food takes at least 30-40 minutes, whether it is busy or not, just can't justify this slow service, we asked for glasses for the water, we get given plastic takeaway coffee cups! just unacceptable, the staff don't seem to care.
the food was good but shouldn't be taking 40 minutes to prepare!! I will not be returning, this is a waste of my time

Unfortunately it doesn't quite meet the standards of other cafe's I've been to. Firstly it is quite tiny inside and we were handed a similarly tiny and quite worn menu with only a limited selection to choose from. We asked for some serviettes as my very young child was making a mess with his food but he was making the coffee so said he would give them to us soon (unlike most places that allow you to grab your own). He must have forgotten as our 2 coffee's each arrived with their single serviette only. We used those to clean up the initial mess, leaving none for ourselves. Food and coffee were only warm not hot when they arrived. Soon my son was really making even more of a mess than before and there was no staff by the counter as he was in the kitchen and I really needed more serviettes to clean up the mess, so I looked around and reluctantly took about 10 serviettes from a big stack that were close to the counter. He came back and asked us where we got those serviettes from. And I explained I took them as there was no one around and my son was making a huge mess. He then rudely said that we needed to ask permission for them!! We did, but you didn't really give them to us the first time and there was no one around the second time - just no empathy at all. We also had to ask for everything that we wanted - no salt and pepper, no tomato sauce, no butter and the salad had no dressing. Food portions were small. Just complete stingyness. Wish I had something good to say but I don't.

Worse brunch/ breakfast I've ever had in my entire life. Ordered a paleo breakfast n a big breakfast, a mocha n cappuccino which we received 30mins later.

The paleo breakfast ($18) has a bit of scrambled eggs, half a piece of fresh tomato, a small bunch of fresh spinach leaves, half a piece of avocado and 2 strips of bacon. That was it. Tastes very mediocre, something I could put together at home in 10mins. Plus the guy told me there was no Tabasco, no black pepper at all in the cafe, however when another lady asked for black pepper she got it somehow.

My husband's big breakfast ($17) was also very disappointing. The bread was dry and again it's nothing special.

The coffees were average n lukewarm, I asked for three sugars in the cappuccino which they forgot to add in.

Overall, it was a horrible experience, expensive, stressful and still feeling hungry afterwards.

If there's a 0/5 I would've chose that instead.

Went in earlier today for a coffee and somewhere quiet to work on my laptop and I must say, i have never had such a bad coffee in my life. the coffee was WAYYY too hot and i mean burning hot that it burned my tongue. and could not taste the syrup in the coffee that i payed extra for. Also, appallingly bad customer service. the guy that took my order had the most confused and expressionless face. The tables were not wiped down properly and there was bird crap on the table which I ended up touching. Could not have asked for a worse experience. Never ever coming to this place again.

Was a bit worried after seeing some reviews and the people's hard eggs next to me so I quickly mentioned I wanted my eggs poached softly... Not hard to do but they nailed it... Served a purpose but definitely mention you want soft poached so you don't get rocks.

Food was disappointing if I take into account of whether this would be worth it if I were to pay the original price for it. Went with a groupon coupon so I didn't mind but would definitely not pay full price for anything there! Service isn't all the great either. Staff is quite unfriendly and kitchen closes at 1.15pm.

Purchased voucher on groupon, the food is great but the wait was long! The staff are very friendly and apologetic and I know it's not their fault the chef is slow but when your at a cafe for brunch with kids you expect to be served in a timely manner. Other than that the portions for the adult meals are fine, however I paid $7 for one pancake for the kids? Was expecting more and I had to ask for them to put bananas on top

The portion is reasonable and with Groupon price it's definitely value for money. The benny is all right would be great if the yolk to be runny. Food took a while to be ready but is fresh and hot. Would come back again with Groupon price.

Came here for brunch today but turned into lunch because our food took so long to come. Had to wait about at least 45 minutes for our food and we could see the waiter running to New World to get more tomatoes. Which goes to show how unprepared they were.

Came here today only cos of a Groupon voucher. When we arrived we chose to sit outside but it started to drizzle so the waiter asked us to sit inside where they have placed a table right in the middle of the walkway. It was very inconvenient since everyone kept passing and going around us to get into the kitchen. It was a nice thought to move us inside but terrible seating placement!!

We ordered the big breakfast and eggs benny with smoked salmon. When they food did finally arrived, they looked pretty good- probably cos we were starving by then. My big breakfast was nice but the tomatoes were not ripe. The eggs benny was average. They bf wasn't that excited with it. They put the hot eggs on top of the smoked salmon which cooked it, so that wasn't very pleasant.

Overall, it was a mixed experience. Long wait, weird seatings and average food. Not the best cafe to go to in Botany.
Ordered two beefbugers and chips on Saturday, 29 March 2014 at 2.30 p.m. The beefburgers were OK -nothing special but average. However, the chips were clearly re-heated - a deep orange/brown colour and although some were slightly burnt due to being reheated they were overall greasy and uneatable. My husband ate his which he regretted as he had indigestion for the rest of the day. I went inside to tell them and the chap denied they were re-heated but offered me two free coffees which I declined. Our first and last visit to Sierra.

Sierra is the only cafe I go to for coffee when at Botany Town Centre.
Always consistently good coffee, service friendly and efficient. Great magazine selection too!
