Review The Browns Bay Brewing Co - Browns Bay

Geonju Park
Very nice brewery. Nice little garden area with sea view. Fish n chips on the lunch menu was really good and reasonable price as well($20). Fresh and tasty beer. The staff was very friendly as well. We would like to come back again☺️
Arsalan Niroomandi
Highly recommended bar and restaurant. Great variety of craft beers dominated by deep creek which is one of the best breweries in Auckland. The food options are also highly recommended. Friendly and helpful staff, and ofcourse right in front of Browns bay beach!

Popped in for a snack and was greeted by two lovely staff members. Very accomodating! The atmosphere and the staff 10/10

Myself and the family had a very busy day, and afterwards we walked pass and had two babies with us. The team was very kind and helpfull. The food is very good and i loveeee the cocktails!!! I took a picture, but my background was crazy with a lot of things happening. So ive edited iy a bit with the name! Its a must try!😁

Awesome friendly service to start of with considering how busy they were.Marcus was excellent with hospitality. Also the food was great. I had the Casaer salad only fault it wasn't real chicken I added to the dish but processed chicken but that's okay doesn't specify on menu but I'll ask next time. The highlight of the evening was the cocktails made by Ben had a few too many but they were worth every cent. I will be back!

Great way to end our beach day by sipping on good cold brews and enjoying their tasty food. Awesome setting sitting outside with sea views. To drink we loved the Nikau larger and Bronzie pacific pale ale. To eat the smoked fish dip was amazing!! And a yummy platter too. Thanks BBB :)

I just stumbled upon Deep Creek Brewery while I was exploring Brown's Bay. I was actually looking for a place that sells milkshakes or ice cream 🍦but thought a beer might go down much better 😊 I got an ice cold, freshly pulled, strawberry rosé cider🍺 It was the first time I tasted it, and it's my new favourite 👌 The food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing 😋 with generous portions 🥘🍲 I'll definitely order some next time. They have a great selection of lagers, beers, ales, and ciders on tap 🍺🍷 They have a tasting paddle, and I will also definitely try that next time. There are stools, benches, and chairs, so suitable seating for everyone 🥰 They also have outside seating, a patio, and indoor seating 🪑 The guy behind the counter was very friendly, even after I changed my mind six times 🤔 You also get to keep your coaster as a souvenir. Five more visits and I'll have a set 👍

Awesome place right by the sea. A local treasure for craft beer lovers. Misty miagi my favorite. Heaps of beers on the menu. Lots of great food as well. My favorite flash fried calamari. Can't get any better with beers on a weekend. Love the vibe.

Had a lovely family dinner here and just had to try the ribs which was recommended by a friend who had visited recently. They were fabulous! The service was good, but not outstanding. Live music started up and wasn't too loud. It was still easy to have a conversation over a large-ish table without having to shout. We'll definitely be back!

We all had a lovely meal here. My dessert was absolutely divine. My five spice duck rolls had a lot more cabbage in them and not as much duck which was a shame. Wine was fab and the service was great.

This is the premier spot to enjoy the beach at Brown's Bay and have a pint of your favorite beer. The food is also excellent. We've been there for lunch and dinner and loved it! The beer selection is awesome. My favorite was their American Pale Ale (not because I'm an American). The fish and chips were fantastic as was the fish burger! Great food, atmosphere, and beer!

I recommend everyone to visit this restaurant for lunch & dinner since it opens from 11 am to 10 pm /11 pm. (Depending on the day of the week) There are 4 reasons why I recommend this restaurant; amazing customer service, high food quality, affordable pricing setting and amazing view and vibe of the place. First of all, I felt this restaurant has amazing customer service because when I came there for the first time with no reservation, I was confused and don't know where to seat, one of the staff immediately recognise me and guide me where to sit (he also asked me where I want to seat) with a smile. In addition, on the payment time, they asked how was your meal friendly and polite. I felt genuine kind customer service and I love it. Another surprise is that even though the restaurant has a great view and doesn't have overpriced food menus, the quality of the food is pretty high. The ribs are tender and the chips are crispy. Also, mayo was their restaurant's own recipes mayo and I love it. Overall, an amazing place and DEFINITELY, GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!

Situation, staff/service and food exceptional. Slight problem wiyh one of the dishes was quickly sorted out in a most professional manner. Salads are BIG. Highly recommend Browns Bay Brewing Company. Ignore negative reviews and try it for yourself.

My bf n I went there tonight n we had wonderful experience! I ordered chicken breast n he ordered pork fillet, both were so yummy, but the funny thing is we liked the other one's dish better so we swapped the plates lol. We also ordered something with chickpea, can't remember the name, but it was also nicely done:) The live band was great, we danced a little bit after eating. Great food, great atmosphere, very friendly staff :) They r super busy at dinner time, even tho we waited a bit long for the table n then the food, I was happy with everything tonight, thank u guys:)

The space is wonderful to have a gathering. The staff are friendly and careful. Amazing beers, good food. I recommend have a lunch time in the outside area.
Geraint Scott
Friendly staff and nice pub atmosphere with plenty of space. I had the Korean cauliflower bites and they were the best I've had, so so so crispy even with a generous amount of the Korean sauce on them.
Mariella Lansi
It was a good experience considering it was Good Friday and not sure if they were expecting to be busy. The food was okay, a bit salty in so regards. Just bad timing when we went there as it was during a bit of a rush time.
Jenn Javier
Great food and quick service. We did not have to wait long for our drinks and food. The polenta chips is one of the best that I've had, crunchy on the outside, piping hot inside. The platter is best value and generous in serving, this is enough to feed 4-6 people. It was busy on our visit since it is a Friday afternoon and rather noisy but not annoying, just have to speak louder than normal. Overall the vibe is lively and welcoming. This is a good place for drinks or a feed for the whole family. If you are visiting on a Friday or weekend, it is recommended to book a table.

A cosy pub with front doors leading to main Brown's Bay shops, and back doors leading to an outside covered seating 1 minute walk to the beach. Child friendly, foods great, staff lovely. Has special nights for different activities.

We used to love this place but last night was a huge disappointment and then we found out that the chef has changed.<br/><br/>We ordered beachfront platter and baked rollantini eggplant. <br/><br/>The ribs were too fat and too burnt on the outside, the chicken changed to a crispy chicken which was overcooked and burnt, the calamari were very nice but the fish was way too oily. <br/><br/>The baked rollantini eggplant was overpowered by the taste of smoked sauce and the salad was just some wilted leaves with no taste at all.<br/><br/>The service and the beer was very good though.
SystemDC
The best ribs ever!

We had excellent service, very friendly and attentive. But the Cheese Garlic bread we ordered was cold and not really fresh.
Xushi
Such a shame. This used to be a good place - last year we came and it was great. But it seems standards have really dropped down. <br/><br/>My calamari was swimming in oil and was SO greasy and soggy it made me sick. <br/><br/>Partner’s tomato prawn was watered down tomato soup !<br/><br/>And the cashier refused to take the calamari off the bill even though I returned 2/3rd of it back - eventually he offered to take off half the price of it. That’s not good service. <br/><br/>Will not be visiting again. You can do yourselves a favour and save your appetite and money and go next door to the other restaurants.
Harold S Lochmann
Front of house service was rather poor when we visited. But as per norm the food is good and the drinks better.
Bhavik M. Shah
A chilled out place with nice view and friendly staff. Amazing Craft 🍺 and great food. We had a great time sitting in open admiring beautiful Browns Bay Beach. Two Thumbs Up for this One.

Love going here for their platters! I really like how they have the covered outside area as well. It’s an awesome spot in the summer for drinks and lunch. They have their own range of beers so you won’t be able to order your usual brands. The food is really good and the staff are super friendly.
Neesh
Wide range of beers to choose from! Bit overpriced though! Amazing food and service. Would be great if you become a Gold Partner, will definitely attract more customers!
Denise San
Very friendly staff and great food for $. 👍. There is only 1 negative thing I wish to point out. The last 2 times I have eaten there staff have leaned over our food while we are still eating to clear away plates. This to me and other friends is not acceptable etiquette. <br/>
Louise Carpediem
Absolutely AWESOME lunch! I highly recommend Deep Creek. The chef consulted with us prior to preparing it due to a few allergies that we both had. She prepared it to perfection and I have not had such a great experience. Well done Chef!!!! <br/>Thanks <br/>Louise

Came here with overseas visitors. They do mean, huge sized meat bbq platters for $39 and beer tasting laddle. Really good value of money. We ordered two platters and one set of beer for tasting. So full, have leftovers to feed 4 people. We were seated outside just overlooking the beach. Quite lovely!

Our favourite place to go in Browns Bay. Always amazing customer service, live entertainment is great and the food is always top notch! Family friendly, our kids love going there! On our way in for lunch as I type!
Grant McAneaney
First visit to this eatery and impressed with the experience. Saturday night and full house, but service was prompt friendly and knowledgeable re the menu and beverage list. Great selection of craft beers and the menu was pretty extensive, ordered Calamari and a craft beer plus 3 other meals for group. Was impressed with the food and the craft beer. Reasonably priced and on the whole a great experience. Will definitely return.

Best for their lunch special mixed with their selection of beers. On a sunny day they have a great open place to eat. Been there multiple times and always been my first choice in Browns bay.
Sam Jones
Unfortunately the food has really gone down hill.  We had steak (well half meat, grissle and lots of fat) and fish and chips.  The fish was fresh, the side salad looked as though it was made last week and the chips had been cooked in very old stale oil.  It is a great place to have a drink and has a great atmosphere but skip the food.
Robbin
Pretty nice restaurant the food is really delicious but the price is a little to expensive , also, there is a lot of food to choose from, so overall I would say that it is a good one

I loved everything about this place. The energy, the drinks, the ambience. Food and service were EXCELLENT! My sister and I enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the service.

Delicious ribs and that beef burger is a banger too. They have an excellent lunch menu that’s friendly to your wallet served by lovely staff too. Fantastic location not much to fault at all
Gareth Neilson
Busy but really well run establishment. Good range of beers and other drinks. Was surprised how quickly the kitchen get the food out with the number of patrons here an a friday night. The sharing platters were great, just the calamari was a bit oily. Fish tacos were supreme. One of the red wines and the port that we ordered tasted as if they had been open too long and oxidised. Otherwise a great night.
Riley
Busy place. Very loud and annoying if ur wanting to chat. Fun place though. <br/><br/>Service is lacking. Can be left waking for some time. <br/><br/>Food is great. Good variety. Recommend share platters even for small groups. Desserts decent
Kelly
Very busy place here, decided to come here and try some food after a recommendation.<br/><br/>I didn’t order a drink just because I wasn’t really feeling it. Ordered the beachfront board to share and sample the menu.<br/><br/>Honestly the meats were dry and really needed the sauce to go along with it to add some moisture back into the palate. I don’t have much to comment regarding the food, I wasn’t blown away and a little underwhelmed.<br/><br/>A lot of staff on hand and they’re all busy serving. Atmosphere is very pub like, huge selection of alcohol, I’d imagine this would be good for Friday night drinks.<br/> It unlikely I’ll be back.
Chad Finch
Stay away from the herbivore platter. The toast was so hard and stale you could build a house with it. My poor palate is in pain from the abuse.

Can’t go wrong with the lunch special here - $20 for a generous meal and beer. My parents absolutely love this place (and beer, they love beer) so when I was lucky enough to have Easter Tuesday off work, mum insisted that we go to lunch. On her. Bless mums.<br/><br/>My fish and chips came with a good portion of chips and salad. Jesus their chips are good - if you like the slightly softer (but not soggy) kind, that is, and we just happen to love that type. The fish is beer battered, which kept it crunchy through the whole meal. It was quite salty for me (turns out the fish itself was quite salty), but mum, ever the cheerleader for DC assured me (and you) that this is the first time it’s happened and the chef was probably just having an off day because “their fish and chips has always been just perfect.” Oh mum. Bless.<br/><br/>Her Angus rump steak was cooked to perfection (medium) and she especially liked the chimichurri on top. Also couldn’t stop herself from going into my looked-like-tartare-sauce-but-didn’t-taste-like-it-maybe-their-take-on-aioli-but-not-quite-that-either-but-it-tasted-good-and-we-silently-fought-over-it-so-that’s-all-that-matters. <br/><br/>Dad’s ribs were saucy, tender, and a clear favourite judging by every table in the place having at least one diner getting their fingers messy. It’s more on the slow cooked side than grilled though, so if you’re more into the latter (me!) than you might be a tad disappointed. It’s the ‘lunch portion’ of their ribs, and unless you’re a good inhaler, it’s a pretty good portion, especially for the price.<br/><br/>Their favourite beer is the Lotus. They did try an Indian dark ale or something (not a beer connoisseur myself sorry) but the after taste was a little too bitter for them, even though mum’s a seasoned black coffee drinker. So back to good old Lotus it is.<br/><br/>The courtyard is lovely. Spacious and really chill. Our waitress was efficient and friendly. The weather was in our side so it was, all in all, a lovely summery lunch.<br/><br/>One star off for hygiene though. Maybe it’s a typical hospo thing (not an excuse still), but the tables were wiped after each party with a wet rag that’s kept in a tin bucket of soapy water. They just take it out, squeeze out the excess water back into the tin, wipe the tables and just chuck it back into the tin. Crumbs and all. Probably explained why the wooden table surface was so sticky, like it had a sticky coating on it. Was almost tempted to scrape my nail against it to see what it would pick up but decided against it. I’m a firm believer in ignorance is bliss sometimes.

If you're looking for a good pub like meal or brewed in house kinda beers in Brown's Bay.. here you have it. Had a pretty exceptional beef burger today.. Had to share it 🍔 review based mostly on burger this time. Great service and cold beer too. Perfection.

Best service I’ve had at a restaurant in a while, we had Sophie as our waitress and throughout the meal. she kept my mother and myself entertained and laughing! Gorgeous smile as well, FOD was also amazing.

Wandering the streets of Browns Bay with a toddler in tow looking for a place for dinner. Decided on Deep Creek. Place was very busy but we were lucky enough to find a table. We had no idea there was such an awesome place in our own backyard.<br/><br/>Food was superb. Large portions so well worth the money. This was the first time we'd seen a kids meal that actually had some thought put into it. All kids options came with chips and salad and our toddler was even willing to eat some salad.<br/><br/>We had the quinoa broccoli salad with lamb cutlets, And the beachfront platter. Both were excellent! Highly recommend the lamb, chicken bites (more accurately described as chunks as they were quite large) and the ribs.<br/><br/>Live band was pretty cool and had many of us up and dancing. Even mummy and toddler had a little boogie.<br/><br/>Finished the night with a chocolate brownie which was to die for! Warm, soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside. Melt in your mouth chocolatey goodness.<br/><br/>Overall a very enjoyable night and we took the leftovers home for lunch. $100 well spent. The bar has been set quite high. We look forward to returning.

We love coming here as a family as it is very relaxed and offers an amazing view! The service is alright, we’ve gotten both friendly and average waiters/waitresses but overall I love the food here and the vibe!

Ribs, ribs and more ribs... family tried to get us there for months, they finally got us there... the ribs were good but personally I have had better.<br/><br/>That being said we have been back and tried other food on the menu and all has been great. Service the second visit was far better then the first even though the restaurant was busier.<br/><br/>Not being a drinker I can't comment on the local beer but I'm told it's an awesome place to grab a beer, or two...<br/><br/>Wouldn't be my first choice but I would happily recommend them to others.

4.5/5 Taste<br/>4.5/5 Display <br/>4/5 Quantity <br/>3.5/5 Customer Service <br/><br/>Bar with best sharing plate!<br/><br/>Had the sharer with steak salad, chips, fried chicken, fried squid and ribs. Enough meat and enough veges! It was bigger than I expected it to be aswell. <br/><br/>Highly recommended!

Big servings on food which can i think can be shared. Taste is good as well. Ribs were perfectly cooked and we liked the sauce. Satisfied👍<br/><br/>however, place is crowded and noisy during busy hours though and some flies around.

Great customer service, good ambiance. Been here before for drinks but first time having a meal there. Their Jack Daniels sticky pork ribs lunch special is divine. Will come back again.

First rack of lamb I’ve had in 5 years, so glad it was here! Tender and made just the way I like it! This place has been recommended by a lot of people. Can’t wait to try the pork ribs! <br/>

Came here for lunch on a cold Saturday and thankfully the food was served hot. If I was to recommend a dish I'd definitely choose the ribs. The ribs was my winner of the day as it had that smoky BBQ taste with a touch of sweet and sour to it. It wasn't hard to chew and the meat came off really easily - delicious enough for me to take on a second rack. However, the fries that came with our dishes had a mix of soft and crispy texture which wasn't consistent at all. The waitress who served us was very friendly and attentive and her recommendation about the rips was spot on (thank you). <br/><br/>Taste - 7/10<br/>Quality - 7/10<br/>Portion - 8/10<br/>Service - 8/10<br/>Price - 7/10

Meals were huge and delicious. Came out very fast and customer service was great. Beer choices were interesting and nice layout of the place... just a bit too crowded, we had to sit outside to hear ourselves talk.

Deep Creek has a casual dining feel to it. Seating can be tight fitting but if you require space just request when you make a booking. Come here for all you can eat ribs and it is Devine. The best ribs I have ever had and I have never found another place who can do it better. I eat Ribs no matter where I am in the world and no one does it better. If anyone thinks they know of a place that can compete I would love to go down and give them a try. Deep creek also do craft beer. Can't wait till August all you can eat Ribs.
William Pugh
Always coming in on a Friday night for a beer and a bite to eat. The staff are amazing and they make you feel very welcome. Also they do some knockout aioli.
Paul Shen
I got to confess, the ribs and pasta is excellent. The view is good, the atmosphere is also good. <br/><br/>But the take-away book is recycled or something, it comes from a dish washer and smells "rotted" and "stink". I asked the staff to replace one, the staff told me that "This is the one we have, what do you expect me to do?" Extremely unfriendly staff at the reception. They got me another same one, and told me that "See? I told you, this is the only one we have."<br/><br/>In general, food is good, but the service is terrible. Oh, almost forgot the takeaway box.
Daniellesolsen
Come here very often because food is absolutely amazing, however service is shocking. Most (note most, not all) of the staff are consistently rude and unhelpful. Efficiency could definitely improve, but amazing menu and atmosphere.
Janet Lord-Salt
This place is great on so many levels. Have always had great food, great service and when it's on, the entertainment is worth staying on for. The reason this review is 4 and not 5 is because as we move to winter, I'm reminded how with the doors always open and the May drop in temperature this is a summer pub.<br/>We'll be back through the winter, but need to remember this isn't a place where you can assume you'll be warm, so need to dress accordingly! Loved my sliders, endame and kumera bravas though .... we'll be back!
Ian.r.mcginley
Came to Auckland for the World Masters Games, and staying nearby we were on the lookout for some good quality food and locations. Had such a great time after the first night we came back, and back again. The menu is great with selections for everyone and service was awesome. Thanks for the hospitality!

It was a lazy Saturday after and we went to this place on brows bay to chill out and relax a bit. This is a sort of bar/pub located right in front the beach. The environment is quite open and the backyard is open to the beach which creates a quite nice vibe. <br/><br/>We had a pineapple juice, white wine, grain greens, vege patch with chicken and baked Brie. The meals were good in general, I think the chicken was a bit cold in my opinion, I prefer to have it warmer but I confess I didn't ask for that. The food was good in general and the service was fine as well. I'm definitely getting back in other occasion.
Ash McGregor
Great pub food, cold beer and an open atmosphere. If you come here make sure you get a nice table outside on a good day with a nice platter for you to choose from. I'll be coming back for sure.
Deb Ra
Deep Creek's beer tasting nights are the bomb. It is such good value and really cool to have someone passionate about the craft explain to you about each beer you try. Deep creek on regular nights is also great.
Anushree Sen Gupta
Was very glad to have been introduced to this gastro pub in Browns Bay. Friendly service and great atmosphere makes for a very easy and enjoyable experience. In the winters it's warm and cosy with the wooden fixtures and large beer vats behind the bar. In the summers the open air backyard is airy and has a lovely view of the bay. The food is plentiful, well presented and quite tasty for a pub. The ribs melt off the bone and I'd recommend both the smokey BBQ and Chilli rum flavours. Oh and those thick steak chips! Addictive! The Fisherman basket is good for sharing and has some lovely components. Great list of wines and beers which will make everyone happy. I'm going to give this a solid 4 for the happy memories ☺.
Love The Experience, Love The Brand.
Yes it did well. Tasty food with a better than average beer list. Cider was no way close to my English palette. Lol. We shared a calamari which was good, crispy and enough herb dip. Could have been more lemony.
Lauren Bernays
What can I say, they make great beer and they make even greater food.<br/>I love all the staff there. Always had friendly onto it staff members. <br/>So start with the beer.<br/>Hoppy McHop face was my fave whilst it lasted lol<br/>Leprechaun belle YUMMY Irish red ale<br/>Lotus is a great PA!<br/><br/>Now for the food<br/>Get the tacos. I repeat get the tacos. My hubby and I will always get the steak and the pork tacos and share them. Now they have updated the menu we have tried the blackened fish which was also really good.<br/>I get the kumara chunks for the side. Crispy on the outside and mushy in the inside YUM<br/>We have tried the ribs and they are out of this world. Melt off the bone. Def worth a try. <br/>Calamari is well seasoned and melts when you eat. Yummy<br/>Fried chicken bites. Lovely spicy morsels of chicken? You won't be disappointed <br/>Beef burger - HUGE! Comes with everything and it's as delicious as it looks<br/>Mushroom tagliatelle - I loved this as I'm a big mushroom fan. I also dip the kumara chunks into the sauce lol<br/>Lasts but not least<br/>Key lime pie. It's like a punch in the face with the zesty flavours going on. Just so goooood

I ate here with friends on a Friday night. Super friendly bar staff who are knowlegeable about their beers and only too happy to give you a small sample of their brewed beers if you weren't familiar with them. I ordered the calamari.....YUM! One of my friends has the ribs which she said we're delicious, one had risotto which we also declared yum, and the hot fries were great too. Awesome atmosphere with the live music and indoor/outdoor tables. We will definitely come back.
Jessica
Had heard lots of mixed opinions about the ribs at this place so I thought I'd go and give it a try myself. I shared a beachfront paddle with a few friends and it was okay. Lots of variety of options to eat but nothing that was super yummy. Wouldn't be bother in going back.
Mrs Puddingcake
Huge place, much more of a pub/bar than a restaurant, not surprisingly.<br/>There wasn't really a brunch menu, so we ordered coffee, sliders, fries, spicy chicken plate and the calamari.<br/>The coffee was fine, sliders (pulled pork and spicy chicken) were tasty, but the rest of the food was just ok. Aside from the dipping sauces/mayos that came with all the small plates actually, they were delish.<br/>Kind of just seemed like everything could do with more salt.<br/>Service was really friendly and prompt. Might go back but for drinks I think.
Andrew Olsen
This place potentially has some of the best food on the north shore, amazing portion sizes and not to mention mouth watering ribs. <br/>However, to put it nicely the service was well below average. We got to the restaurant at about 7pm on a Saturday night, and waited around 10 minutes for some kind of staff to even acknowledge us as they bumped past multiple times. Eventually we gave up on that tactic and forcibly grabbed the supposed "front of house" who clearly had no idea what he was doing. He sent us away for an approximate " 20 minute" wait. One and a half hours later after personally moving out seats to accommodate the band and multiple questions about where we were in line, not once did the staff offer any assistance. <br/>Eventually we were seated, and ordered a tap beer and some water. And surprise, surprise after a further 15 minutes of waiting nothing had got to our table. Whilst this was concerning, the most disappointing part was the fact that not one, two, three but four staff were standing in plain sight talking and drinking themselves. <br/>When I eventually had enough, and confronted the staff they rudely answered with no appropriate excuse. Eventually after this whole debacle we were given discounted drinks which was some kind of consolation <br/>We left absolutely satisfied with the dinner we had demolished but still appalled by this poor performance. <br/>Not to mention since this Experience almost every friend we have talked to has shared similar stories. <br/>Hopefully these amazing chefs won't be let down by floor staff in future.

Deep Creek Brewery, this place works as a suburban bar/restaurant however am not sure it would in the CBD (which of course it isn't). <br/><br/>Staff seem to be friendly although wasn't very busy the night I visited so they weren't stressed.<br/><br/>They brew their own beers (as well as a few brands) so I tried one of the managers beers that was brewed on site. Was told it was more of an english style brew. Was tasty, would call it an NZ version of an english brew rather than a pint you might expect pulled in the UK.<br/><br/>For eats, I ordered the pulled pork soft shell taco's (two taco's). They came quickly and were a decent sized position. A little too big to eat as they were so ate a bit of the pulled pork before attempting to lift them. <br/><br/>Tasty, pork might have been a little bland for my taste, I like BBQ sauce. Tabasco helped give them a kick.<br/><br/>My other diner ordered pulled pork sliders (a theme here) which were tasty and well presented.<br/><br/>I think a summers evening at this venue with a few beers would be great.
Ellynn
Didnt even tried the food. We were there because we wanted the unlimited ribs and i ordered a PINEAPPLE juice for me and Coke Zero for my bf and they asked me for my ID. Like seriously? Then they asked me to leave cuz i didnt have my ID. My bf was super pissed because we werent even gonna drink and they still asked for our ID and since Im a foreigner, i didnt have one. I dont carry my passport around too. So they asked us to leave. I really didnt get it because all the other restaurants only ask for ID when youre drinking. Even in pubs! I was seriously pissed at how they treated us. I also don't get that they asked us to leave cuz of the liquor license thing but there were kids inside. Maybe the owner of this place has to re-read and understand how license work.

Really enjoyed the beer and food at this brewery. Even though it was packed on Friday night, staff found us a table very quickly. The pale ales - Dusty gringo and pontoon on monsoon was nice. We shared a beachfront platter (which was not quite a large platter) but the pork ribs were awesome. We also had some fries and kumar chips. Stayed till the end. Good music and nice crafts. Will be going again. Sorry didn't take too many photos as the beer was good and had too many too soon lol.
Nikki
Came here with my family today for a nice lunch in the sun. The waitress was snappy at us as soon as we arrived which made us uncomfortable. There were quite a few selections of alcohol unavailable which is weird for a pub, and when we asked about this the waitress snubbed us. Food took 40 minutes to arrive with no warning of having to wait that long, had to ask 3 times to get a drink as they kept forgetting. Bad service. Good food. Won't be back

Upon entering you cannot help but smile. The staff brim with friendliness & the atmosphere is electrifying. The indoor & outdoor seating areas are comfortable & abundant, unless it's a Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening when a wait time is required at this popular eatery. The food is beautifully presented & the Lamb Skewers & Calamari plates from the "Small Bites" menu are a perfect sized meal in themselves. Undoubtedly you'll enjoy an amazing meal & if there is a live band performing, you'll certainly be in for a treat.

So let me start by saying this will be a weird review...<br/>Ill start with the service is perfect, I have been here a couple of timea. The staff are crazy friendly and make the place!!<br/>They have a great selection of beers, great spots outside to eat and drink.<br/>As for the food, well this is where it gets odd. I have been here before and had the ribs, they are fantastic.<br/>This time I had pulled pork tacos, great portion size, really well cooked. Could not be much better.<br/>My wife had a beetroot and quinoa salad, unfortunately it was not great, it looked perfect but bland. Shame really.<br/>My other friend had pan fried fish, this again looked perfect however it had been sitting too long on the counter before bringing out ao had chilled a little.<br/>My other friend had the lamb ribs, this was spot on and again great presentation.<br/>Its a shame we have been here a year ago and it was perfect. Today not so much.<br/>

Came here with the family one Sunday afternoon - I had rung ahead to try and book a table outside but unfortunately they don't take bookings for groups below eight people. The lady on the phone was lovely and honest and said that Sundays were their most unpredictable day of the week in terms of how busy they got, and that they had no current bookings. I really appreciated the info.<br/><br/>We decided to head over to Deep Creek Brews for around 2pm to hopefully insure an outside table - and we did! <br/><br/>The bar/restaurant is surprisingly large, going the length of one block to the other. Plenty of tables, couches and outdoor seating as well as a big bar.  The outdoor seating (at the back) has a great view of the beach and also has umbrellas for shade.<br/><br/>There was live music playing which was a great touch for a late lunch by the beach.<br/><br/>The service was a little slow to start, but once we ordered our food it was incredibly quick, quite impressive.  My husband and I ordered two sliders, the bruschetta and their kumara bravas to share. All the servings are decent so we were really full afterwards.  The food was good, but each meal had small disappointments about it whether it being lack of flavour (which is a personal thing as we like full of flavour meals) or completely not what we expected; The kumara bravas was just cubed kumara, we were expecting a spanish / hot sauce with it.<br/><br/>Everyone else enjoyed their meals, and the boys enjoyed a large beer taster which was quite good value for money if you're keen on trying out some beers.<br/><br/>I would definitely go back if I was in the area, worth a visit if you're after some good food.
A Tale Of Two Tummies
Food ordered:<br/>Beachfront Paddle<br/>Deep Creek BBQ Ribs<br/>1x Coke<br/>1x Ginger Ale<br/><br/>Bill: $75<br/><br/>Big tummy: We were starving, so we decided to get the Beachfront platter and a full rack of ribs to share. In hindsight, this proved to be a good decision, as it allowed us to try a range of their food. What made this an even better decision is that we found the food to be a particularly mixed bag. I guess the best example of this was in the ribs, which proved to be incredibly polarising in themselves. Deep Creek offers two different sauces, so we tried one of each. Firstly, the chilli rum sauce was amazing... the ribs were generously smothered and the sauce itself was full of flavour and packed a kick. Sadly, the same can't be said for the Jack Daniels/BBQ ribs. I couldn't distinguish any flavour, besides a mild hint of BBQ, which left me wishing we'd both ordered the chilli rum sauce. Perhaps most disappointing was that the ribs themselves were surprisingly skint on meat. I'm not sure if we got a bad batch, but there was noticeably a lot less meat on our ribs than we'd get at a lot of other rib places (one of which is just around the corner from DCB&E). <br/><br/>Anyway... on to the other food. Again a mixed assortment. The tortillas were a welcome touch, as they combined with the assortment of goodies on the platter to allow you to create your own little soft shelled tacos. Both of the dipping sauces were delicious as well and complimented the food featured on the platter perfectly. The calamari was another stand-out... lightly battered and well-seasoned. The steak was somewhat disappointing though. Don't be fooled by the photos on here, of little dishes full of steak. The dish is 80% full of salad, with the steak resting on top - of course, this also means that the blood from the steak soaks all the way through the salad beneath, making in somewhat unpleasant to eat. The chicken was average - I honestly cannot think of a another way to describe it. It's simply generic fried chicken without much seasoning. However, I guess that's the point of the dipping sauces.<br/><br/>The restaurant itself is seriously one of the better set-ups in Auckland though. Sitting in the open, looking out at the beach, with an ocean breeze drifting through the establishment - I cannot think of a better way to dine. I just wish the food was as good as the scenery. Especially with prices that are usually associated with higher quality food.<br/><br/>All-in-all, I found DCB&Es to be a beautiful restaurant with food that doesn't quite live up to the scenery nor the prices. If I did return, it would be exclusively for the atmosphere rather than the food.<br/><br/>Little tummy: I think my boyfriend summed it up best - while DCB&Es provided a very nice change in ambiance, it really did feel like a step down from similar establishments in regards to quality of food. The ribs were 50/50 - while the chilli ribs were delicious, the BBQ ribs seriously lacked flavour. Regardless of the sauce, both sets of ribs were lacking in the meat department too. The chicken was nice when dipped in the accompanying sauce, but without it there really wasn't much flavour there either. The chips that came with my dish were again an example of mediocrity. There simply wasn't enough seasoning and the ribs didn't come with adequate sauce to cater for the fries as well. Yes - it was nice sitting right on the beach, but if you're looking for quality food, you might be better off looking elsewhere.

The place looks ok but when you look it's really dirty and in need of a good clean. The menu is very poor and hasn't changed in years. <br/>The toilet stank when I was there and I've heard others say the same. <br/>It needs a revamp big time.
Victoria
Amazing! Great vibes and amazing food and drink! It definitely surprised me! The staff were super friendly and helpful and my entire group agreed that it was an amazing dining experience! <br/><br/>Only downside was that our food took a little long (we thought they may have forgotten) but the staff were really apologetic when it did come out. All dishes were hot and tastes fresh though so it was worth the wait! <br/><br/>Perfect place for a summer meal out or even just a drink with beach views ! :)
Fylde
Great atmosphere, great beer and reasonable food. Fantastic addition to Browns Bay opening up to the beach. Recommend trying the red Celtic beer and the taco wraps are good. The pork sliders are also tasty. Maybe book if eating as it can get busy.<br/>

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this place was! Lovely outdoor seating with views of the beach and the skatepark that transitions smoothly to the indoor area.. equally as welcoming. The food took awhile to come out but considering how busy it was the service was pretty good. Garlic bread was amazing! The best I've had in quite some time. We were out with friends so decided to get the meat platter, the pulled pork sliders and some fries to share. Very reasonably priced for the size and quality of the food. The platter had an awesome selection of meats and everything was cooked to perfection. Exceptional place for a beer and platter in the sun!

We visited on Boxing Day ( my daughter and a friend ) for lunch and the place was fairly empty. The service from the staff was great, the drinks nice, but the let down came from the kitchen. <br/><br/>My daughters fries were fine, they forgot her garlic bread which we ordered first and asked for it straight away as she was starving. Although  they did offer it to us after we had eaten, but she no longer wanted it. <br/><br/>my friend and I both ordered the bruschetta which was rather bland, the bread hardly toasted and the toppings nothing special. This place used too be amazing and fully booked, maybe this is why there were so many empty seats. Wouldn't hurry back

Came here for the all you can eat ribs. Absolutely delicious. Finding good ribs in Auckland is pretty damn hard. They were incredibly flavoursome/saucy. Make sure you have plenty of liquid to wash it down as I was feeling pretty dehydrated the morning after (didnt realise a meat hangover was a thing?) There are beersies brewed by Deep Creek themselves and well worth having a try. Well recommended place.
Kat M
Love visiting Deep Creek on a summery day - it gets very busy however and can be difficult to get a seat at times! The platters are always great and many good options for drinks.
Jyothi Madanlal Chhabria
Awesome ribs! They just fall off the bone. Too large a dish for me but complete value for money at 20$ along with a glass of their house craft beer. Sadly they were out of their recommended beer pairings and whatever else I chose as well - the atmosphere felt very confused.

Price 4/5<br/>Food 4/5<br/>Service 4/5<br/>Atmosphere 4.5/5<br/>Nice and fantastic food<br/>Lunch $20 set very interesting<br/>Enjoy time for me <br/>I will be back soon and try another meal. <br/> <br/>

Parking at noon on a Thursday in browns bay is hard.<br/>Venue good, indoor outdoor seating,we chose sit inside, nice and clean, table stable and clean, overall bar and restaurant was tidy and set out well.<br/>Service good and friendly, drinks first came promptly..not a fan of the craft beer i ordered, but that's just my taste. Eye fillet steak, pork belly, chicken sliders, ribs is what we ordered, not long and food arrived.<br/>Steak cut was abit small but still cooked how i wanted and tender, pork belly good but not much crackling and alota cabbage..ribs great ,but not enough of them..but for twenty bux,algood..sliders chicken was dry,but enjoyed.<br/>Price was really reasonable, enjoys meal overall..venues music was great..love abit of reggae..will go back

Nice food, great lunch deals on the weekends. Bit dark inside but is much nice if you're outside on a sunny day - watch out for pigeons though!!
Alwayseating
Good place right by the beach and DC has a wide selection of craft beer and a range of ciders.<br/><br/>We got the Beach Front Paddle platter, really good except the over chewy medium rear bit of fillet but everything else was grouse!!! Don't get chips with it its way to much food, I crashed for a nana nap once I got home - foodcoma
Juanine
I love coming here. The place has a great atmosphere and they do one of the best Ribs I have tasted. It is usually quite busy and they don't do bookings unless its for a large group, so sometime you will have to wait. They do some awesome platters which give you a taste of a wide variety of dishes which is great.
Alysha Bower
Went here with my partner and friend today for a late lunch, deep creek itself is a really cool place. They distill their own beer on site, there's heaps of space and seating. The service here is really good , the waitresses are friendly and open. We had pork tacos to start and for mains my partner and friend had sliders and I had calamari. The tacos were amazing! But my calamari wasn't, it was so over salted I had to send it back. The waitress was really good about it and I got a new meal within 10minutes but it still wasn't that great. The sliders were good though! I definitely will come back but I will stick to the tacos and sliders!!
Amanda Fowler
Amazing service and very generous. <br/>Possibly had a mix up with our order and our platter took a long time - but brought us out some chips and free drink to apologise. Highly recommend.
Mara Andrea Martinez
Had dinner at Deep Creek twice now. Tried both the shared platters and loved both of them. They were both very filling and well worth the price (meat platter especially). The ribs fell off the bone and was very pleasant to eat. Lamb skewers were also another favourite of mine. The service was very good. Would definitely come back here again.
Rachel Cullen
Plan to eat at Browns Bay today..know this restaurant from Zomato..The atmosphere is good..service is good..beer is fresh with wide range of choices..food is awesome..food and beer lover..this is a good place to hang out..
Ayden Barnett
Quite simply the best place to eat in Browns Bay. Excellent location with outdoor area and sea views in summer and cosy fireplace and often live music in winter. Fantastic of local brews on tap and an outstanding selection of food on a regularly updating menu. Staff our always super friendly. Heck dogs are even welcome! Would single out a meal for praise but we have never ordered something that didn't 'wow'. Perfect for a couple on a date to a large family gathering and anywhere in between.
Momo
The ribs are to die for! Falls of the bone, best ribs that I've ever tried so far. They also have burger sliders that looks super delicious.
Joe Ram
Best place in Browns bay to eat! The staff are all so friendly and deep creek has a great vibe. Highly recommend going to dinner here with a big group. The Ribs are best.
Mariajosemvw
I was there for first time on last sunday and i loved it! Close to the beach, great atmosphere and the food really nice. I tried the Calamari and was delicious just like the beer. U must go!
Mel Jacka
BESTRIBSEVER!!!!I'm a big ribs fan! i used to go to Lone Star a lot and thought that their ribs were the best i could ever get....boy was my world turned upside down!i can't eat anyone else's ribs now, they just don't cut it and am ALWAYS disappointed.Highly recommend you give them a whirl!
Fare Henry
Great food, drinks, service and environment. We tried the platters and everything was absolutely delicious! We made a second order. The drinks were interesting and different. Definitely a good experience.
Katharina Wulandari
I came here for my birthday lunch. The place was nice and the staffs were friendly.<br/><br/>My family and I ordered a shared plate: seafood paddle and meat paddle. The seafood paddle came with fried calamari (yumm!), fried shrimps (yuum!), salmon salad (can you imagine some slices of fresh raw salmon with some salad leaves + dressings, yuuumm!), mussels (dipped in red sauce, not sure what that was and I did not really like it), and served with crispy bread and aioli dipping sauce. The meat paddle came with BBQ pork spare ribs, medium rare beef steaks (not sure which part), marinated chicken, lamb skewer, and sundried tomato skewer. It was served with some slices of bread and red dipping sauce (not sure what that was, different from the mussels had) as well.<br/><br/>I was quite impressed with the foods in the paddles. They were not only stunning when they were delivered to us but also tasty. I prefer the seafood paddle (minus the mussels) since it did not give any 'heavy' feeling from the meat paddle after you had the meals. Well, or maybe we ordered too many so we felt really full.<br/><br/>When you come visiting Browns Bay and want a decent meal, better come here. I heard their coffees were great as well (I have not tried them).
NZNICK
Always a safe bet ! Delicious food, amazing craft beer. Staff are nice, only ever had one problem which was rectified right away. Mixed platter with the house IPA is my pick. Always a treat

Fantastic place to catch up with friends for drinks, then followed by food. (Great especially during summer...beach is probably 50+ steps away from their backyard.)<br/><br/>A smart casual restaurant with good drinks, service and food.<br/><br/>As I'm a seafood person vs. my fiancé who's a meat lover, we went for the Surf & Turf Platter. Just the perfect combo! They've got 5 different platter for two options and other individual menu selections.<br/><br/>A must try is their beers. I'm not a fan of beers, but the boys told me that they're all good. Haha..<br/><br/>I would highly recommend this place.<br/>www.foodculturenz.wordpress.com<br/>

Fantastic place for lunch. I went with my family one day and we sat outside enjoying a bit of sunshine. It was fantastic.<br/><br/>We ordered a whole pile of food to share and were not disappointed. The food was served in decent portions. We were all full by the time we left - didn't even have room for dessert. <br/><br/>The staff were very friendly and were very efficient too. It's a pleasant spot for lunch, as you can see the beach from the outdoor area. <br/><br/>The second time we went was in the evening, and whilst it was much louder and exceptionally busy, the food was still of a really high quality and we still had a great night. The staff seemed to be handling the full restaurant really well and kept the same level of efficiency they had when we went during the day for lunch.
Angela Reys
First thing to try will be their beer paddle, I enjoy trying different beer with a friend. And their cider is magnificent! <br/><br/>Next is their ribs and surprisingly their seafood platter! The portion is big and it's great to share with a few mates!
Rob Keyworth
We went this evening to try and make up for the dreadful dining experience we had last night<br/>It was very busy for a Sunday night and we sat in the heated outside area as we waited for an indoor table to be available. The waiting staff were not only friendly but they were also very knowledgeable of of the menu. <br/>We had the ribs and the twice cooked pork which were both excellent.<br/>Good, honest food served in a warm and friendly environment. We will definitely be back.
Ryan Samson
Fantastic food and awesome craft beers! We had the Surf and Turf which included the yummy and tender ribs! The Lotus beer hits the spot, too!
Chris Casey
ordered steak also pork 2 ways, steak was tough burnt and raw in the centre, pork was dry and all of our veges were either undercooked or cold terrible service took 50mins to serve lunch  waiter was slack in keeping the drinks flowing absolutely will not be back had a chef with me and he said it was disgusting all round
Cazza Holland
My absolute favourite place to go for a drink in Auckland. Their food is also faultless, big portions for your money. Their staff are really friendly too and happy to go the extra mile <br/>
WeiTing Ashley Shyu
Lovely atmosphere and great food. I love the tasting platters! You really get to try everything and the portions are great. My boyfriend loves their ribs. I am more of a seafood fan - absolutely LOVE their crumbed calamari. I really enjoy the salad beds the food lies on as well. All the elements add up for me and I keep coming back. They are definitely doing it right!
Daiana Cordoba
Definitely the place to go if you like artisan beer. Many options to choose from and at a good price. Did not eat here so cannot rate the food, but the beer is good!
Isaac Valach
Always a great place to dine & drink close to the beach too. Food is priced well & great value for money. Other than the male staff member that sat on the table top across from us to take our order this place is great.
Erica May Dean
Tasty beer and tasty food! However I noticed there was a lot of what looked like fruit flies flying around the tanks. Apart from that I enjoyed the atmosphere (live music playing) and most importantly the variety of craft beer. Do try the pork belly! It was so very tasty.
Michelle
I have always enjoyed the beer and food here. The only thing that annoys me about this place is nearly all the waiters/waitresses drag their feet across the concrete. Just lift up your feet!
Alexandria Tarr
Amazing views of Brown's Bay Beach. The best ribs in town. Would highly recommend those but only have this dish if you have quite an appitetit. Also enjoy the 309 beer. Refreshing on a hot summer day..
Lloyd Craig
I was at the deep creek for dinner last night and I can only say that the meal was very disappointing to say the least, The salad, If you can call it that, consisted of lettuce with grated carrot and that was all, no dressing, the stake was of poor quality and I would say that presentation was a non event. I asked for a port at the end of the evening and was asked if wanted ice with that, I would some training and product knowledge on what they offer might be of some use. all in all it was no better than pub grub, Which seems to be at odds from how they like to present the business.
Noel
went here last wednesday ordered the black turtle bean koftas and the ipa (moonsoon) i really wanted to like the ipa but maybe its not my cup of tea. and the black beans were off...so i got myself a spiced rum on the rocks the ice was so diluted its ruined my drink the bartender just said that was all the ice they had...this was at 9pm...well im pretty sure this establishment does well and service was allgood maybe i need to revisit deep creek. cause it had potential.
Andre Cressy
The food is a 5 stars without a doubt. The platters are great and i would highly recommend them.  The beer however was not to my tastes. Probably just me really. The cider however was pretty good. Great casual place to enjoy a meal and a drink on a sunny day.
Lochbuie
We have been to the Deep Creek a couple of times for dinner and enjoyed it, so today we decided to try the $20 lunch menu which included a matched craft beer with each dish (house wine, juice, soft drink or coffee were also included). We ordered the Old #7 Jack Daniels BBQ Ribs, which were accompanied by fries and salad, matched with Leprechaun Irish Red Ale, and the Filo Parcels (roast pumpkin, spinach and ricotta) and salad, matched with Pontoon in a Monsoon IPA. Both dishes were simply delicious and an ample size for lunch (rack of 4 large ribs, and 2 filo parcels), and the craft beers (especially the IPA) were cool and refreshing. The staff were efficient and attentive, and the beers then the meals arrived quickly. An added attraction was the ability to sit outside on a beautiful Spring day with a great view of the gulf. Overall excellent.<br/><br/>UPDATE : We tried the new Mezze platter which we accompanied by their superb chips and a paddle of six craft beers. The platter is lighter than the usual one but was spot on for a warm summer's evening. It is a perfect sharing platter with grilled chorizo, chicken skewers, arancini balls, Mediterranean mix of olives, artichoke hearts, red onions, capsicums, garlic & bocconcini, + hush puppies (incongruous inclusion but very tasty), and pita chips with two dips. Well recommended.

Hazelnut brown ale was as good as it sounded. Food was great as usual. Only issue I have is their resistance to providing aioli. Last 2 times I've been we have asked for aioli when ordering only for it not to turn up then ask again only for the waitress to never return.
George Nurijanian
Good food (ribs are amazing) and good beer, plus the atmosphere and it's sitting right on the beach too - what's not to like? Gets busy and a bit loud though if the band is playing.
Kellie Cooper
Good food & great beer.
Ellie
Really good food, we have been there probably close to 10 times, everyone allways enjoys themselves! Can be quite noisy though...
Mupps
Lunched here on a Friday with some girlfriends and had the most fantastic time! Service was fabulous and no request we had was too much trouble. We selected from the $20 lunch menu, excellent value, large but not ridiculous sized meals, delicious well prepared food, and a variety of options to suit everyone. Nice atmosphere and music and was impressed with a decent wine list. We will be back, we've already made a plan to visit again for our quarterly catch up. Only problem is that I personally, live too far away to make you guys a local haunt. Keep up the great work guys, will highly recommend you to my Shore based mates. Cheers!

One of the go to places in Browns Bay, so many good vibes and such an awesome atmosphere! Never had a bad service or night here. Great beer great food and ever better staff to serve it all. Deep Creek have it sorted for sure, they know how to run the place smoothly and the facilities are always clean.<br/>Food is beautifully presented, portions could be bigger but then again I am greedy!
Miss Kiki
** Updated review 15/01/16**<br/>They have changed their menu with a new addition of another flavour sauce ribs. Dined here tonight and it was excellent.<br/><br/>*1st review*<br/>Been here a few times now, I have also noticed portions are smaller, but I still enjoy my meal here.<br/>I have never been disappointed with a meal here, love getting the ribs or the steak. Yum!<br/>The higher bar-like seats can be a bit comfortable, I prefer to sit at a normal table.
Jill
Been a regular here since they first opened. I used to strongly recommend Deep Creek to everyone &amp; anyone! However as of late (and I am not the only one to comment on this) the quality of service and food has gone down drastically.<br/><br/>Portion sizes smaller &amp; the prices have increased! On our most recent visit we had dinner using an Entertainment two for one voucher on an early Saturday night. Our order was a meat paddle, the ribs and an order of onion rings to start. Everything came out in about 20-25 minutes, including the onion rings which we were expecting before the meals. The food was good but instead of the kumara fries that used to come with the ribs, it was just standard run-of-the-mill fries. <br/><br/>For the first couple of years Deep Creek was operating I was always greeted by the same smiling staff members which gave the place a nice friendly local touch. Slowly one by one the original employees have disappeared. On Saturday night there were all new faces again except for the duty manager whom I recognised. <br/><br/>Still, the place does good food and has a great atmosphere. Get in early if you want a good seat!
Steve Harper-Travers
Disappointing third visit. Ordered fettuccine with crab to only get surimi. Surely that can't be right!
Debbie Goldsmith
The prices are outrageous. The cost of the meals have gone up and also the portion sizes have gone down, this is becoming a recurring theme with restaurants in this area at the moment.times are tough for all of us, but there is a limit.we took family here from oz and they were astounded at the prices.daylight robbery.
Marc
Deep Creek Brewing Co offers best beer, meat platters. Their BBQ rib is arguably best in Auckland. <br/>Every time, I take my friends, clients &amp; football teams to this restaurant they are impressed with the food and great service :) it's my favourite restaurant/pub in Auckland.<br/>Not only that it brews its own beers, ales &amp; cider what more do you want ?<br/>Oh yes great location on the beach at Browns Bay with band entertainment on the weekends etc. <br/>Cheers guys we love it &amp; the kids, keep up the good work,<br/>PS don't mind the slight price increase as the food is good &amp; service too.
Jaimee Wilson
Same as below<br/><br/>Really really disappointed that the prices of the meat/seafood paddles have jumped (some up to $9 more) and the size has decreased pretty much by half. When we asked why they are so much smaller we were told because it was because they now have more meat (plate is smaller but you get more meat??? how??), which is really hard to believe.....more expensive meat maybe. <br/><br/>Whats even more disappointing is that the website still has the old prices on it....<br/><br/>The food is still amazing....but either put the prices up OR reduce the size of the meals....don't do both....
Lynn Hedges
Disappointing ...<br/><br/>.they have put the price up of the platter my husband and I normally have by 20 per cent and reduced the size of meals. This has only happened in the last 3 weeks so it will be interesting to see the response from other diners.<br/><br/>The old price is still advertised on their website<br/>The food and presentation is still good .
Rob Ford
My favorite pub in Auckland.<br/><br/>The beer here is excellent and often cheaper than commercial stuff found at chain pubs. Bar staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere and venue are superb, especially on a bright summer day.<br/><br/>The food is awesome and complements the beer well. The ribs have to be tried, they're fantastic. I can recommend all of the platters though, all generous and delicious.
Andre Cressy
Food is really good. The beer is very average. Except the one that comes from the Hawkes Bay.
Keith Edson
Best thing to happen in Browns Bay.<br/>Deep Creek is a cottage brewery that has great beer and a good selection of eats that are always well cooked, fresh ingredients and well presented. There is no better way of spending a late afternoon with a view of the sea, in a venue with style , drinking a local brewed beer and nibbles from the menu. Staff always make you feel very welcome and the Deep Creek really go out of their way to offer a quality social experience, More Ponsonby than the Browns Bay of old. Well done and long may it last.
Nick
Everything falls off the menu! Last 2 visits to this restaurant had the same issue - items on the menu were not available. First time it was their famous ribs and second time was their seafood. Problem would be solved if they had an efficient management team who could ensure that<br/>all items on the menu were available.
Penelope
Worst dining experience ever. The manager was one of the rudest managers in hospitality. We were there with our family he came over and said if our children did not behave we needed to leave. Was the table next to ours not our children who were quietly on their iPads. My husband explained this, he did not care.<br/>My husband and I own a large manufacturing business and we were thinking of supporting a local business by booking an a event for 40 of our staff. But this manager/owner (had some sort of accent) was incredibly rude.<br/>Funny thing is Browns Bay is a very small area and businesses need to be aware that people talk (as I have to our business contacts) and the last thing I said to him as we left was "I hope you know what you are doing, alienating your local clientele is not wise". Food was average.<br/>Will never go back.
Michelle NA
I was so happy to get told about this place! <br/><br/>A friend’s friend on Xmas Day mentioned it had the “best ribs in Auckland” – so we naturally had to test it out (love ribs) and oh yes! He wasn't lying. Best.Ribs.Ever!<br/><br/>I had the Surf n Turf Paddle. What a cool idea btw – I enjoyed my meal being served like that. From memory it’s about $28, and there’s a lot that comes on it. The calamari was tasty and crisp, the prawns (YUM) were almost the highlight – until I had the ribs. I don’t know what you put in the sauce but it’s amazing. Meat was tender and I was genuinely surprised at how meaty they were (not fatty with grissle like other ribs). <br/><br/>Only disappointment to an awesome experience (waiting staff are lovely and the atmosphere is fun) was there were no Growlers in stock :-( But we’ll be back again to buy one, it’s definitely worth the 30min drive!<br/><br/>Thanks Deep Creek – great food, nice place, AMAZING RIBS.
Meredith
Have been regulars at this place for over six months now and never once been disappointed :). The food and beers are sublime, the staff 'made for the job'. They will go out of their way to provide excellent service and always remain professional even when the place is packed out. There is nothing left to say except just go and experience it!!
Jin Gao
came here a few weeks back for a after work snack. Really good atmosphere, i ordered the mussel pot and the mussels were fresh and cooked perfectly (not chewy at all). The only draw back was that the place was packed and we struggled to find a seat :P
Rose
Love this place!! Great Food, Great Staff. Its our new Local now and great for a drink on a hot summer afternoon or a nice dinner at night. Would recommend to all people coming to the Browns Bay area!
Barbara Goldie
We aren't drinkers, so this review is solely based on the ambiance and food. I love the way this bar opens up in back to a deck right at the edge of the beach with a great ocean view. If I was going to go hang out with friends in the summer and have some drinks, I can't think of a better place to do it.. but alas that's not my scene. We went here to try the food, and OMG we've been plotting how soon we can return to indulge in the ribs again... they were finger licking, melt in your mouth amazing. I know it's not really fair to try one thing and give a 5 star review, but too bad :p Our server was a complete doll as well, and made it an even more enjoyable experience. We'll be back for the ribs, afraid we like them to much to bother ordering much else LOL
Mark Goldie
Great atmosphere, great place, marvellous service.. the ribs are to die for and the portions were huge. I felt a little bit bad as I dont really drink beer and couldn't partake of the 'full' experience. But honestly, trust me on the ribs.
AB Clark
We've just been to Deep Creek using a deal voucher and it was excellent. <br/><br/>We rang up to confirm on the day and we were told it was Oktoberfest day (13 Oct) and we were warned that it was going to be very busy and that it would be best to be early (really nice to be informed).<br/><br/>We went along anyway and it was great - excellent atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff, fantastic beer and awesome food. <br/><br/>Can't rate it highly enough - well done Deep Creek, thanks!!
Aarti Mistry
Great food!<br/><br/>Meals were huge - I couldn't finish the ribs! Great flavours and excellent service.<br/><br/>Will definetely be returning.

Have been numerous times. Plenty of great choices on the menu. Best Ribs in town

Have been told the food is good, haven't eaten here yet just tried the beer. Recommend the Leprechaun's Belle and the cider is the best I've found in NZ! Went on a Monday night and it was lovely and quite - I would assume it gets pretty busy with a game on. Nice to find decent beer at last

Last night was my 2nd visit. Their food was great on both occasions, except for my Angus Steak last night. I requested medium-rare and got med-well and burned on the outside, which left it tasting bitter. The waiter was also very confused, our plates were put on 3 different tables before it got to us - not good.

Deep Creek is one of the best restaurants/pubs I've been to in years - the staff are fantastic at making you feel at home, the service is top and the food... Well, if you haven't tasted the food you'd better get down there, excellent menu!!!! <br/>Well done Creekers team, brilliant job!!!

Especially enjoyed the mixed grill. Very disappointed to be turned away by the bouncer at the door when we returned for about the 7th visit. My partner was told he could not enter; he wore a shirt with collar, long denim shorts and jandals. The time was approx 6.30pm. Seems ridiculous as it was a blazing hot day with the beach across the road, Will have to visit elsewhere in future

This place is O for Awesome! Living in the area most my life we were definately in NEED of a bar like this. Fantastic staff, amazing beers, great wine list, and the food is top notch every time. Had the surf'n'turf the other night and I was more than impressed. Can't wait to be chilling out in the garden bar for most of the upcoming summer. <br/>Great work Deep Creek Team!

Great place with awesome atmosphere. Will be even better once the outside bar is completed in the near future.<br/><br/>I had the whiskey-cooked ribs which were incredible, with the Kumara fries. True KIWI pub kai! Heading back for lunch today!<br/><br/>Beers are well made with interesting styles and varieties available to try. Few selections were sold out when we went due to popularity so hoping to try those today.

Too loud. The guys enjoyed the beers, the staff knew their stuff and we were made to feel like we were extra special. Food was fantastic, with the exeption of the bleu steak.....it was medium rare which made it tough and tasteless. BUT...we will return. Good luck with the venture.

Great brews and good food. We had a great afternoon in the sun out the back of this place. They were out of one of the beers but there were plenty of other tasty drops to sample. I'll be back next sunday for round two.

First visited this bar a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed. The cheese board is so yummy and the atmosphere was awesome. <br/>Have returned twice since both in late afternoon and the two musicians singing were so loud we could not hear ourselves think!! This would have been great later in the evening or even just not so loud. The musicians had a break and the replacement music put on was just as loud! Not a place I would go to for a catch up drink with friends unless you want to shout your way over the table. We love music and the musicians were talented just way too loud for the size of the venue unless you could escape outside.

Great set up and friendly staff but partner said his deep creek beer was very average and I lured him out the house with the promise of great beer being that its a brew bar? hm

Just had a great lunch at this awesome new venue in Brown's Bay. The food was delicious, loved the beer and the atmosphere is fantastic. For day two these guys are doing extremely well - not far to go to 5 stars!

This place provides some amazing beers that are brewed locally. So don't expect the usual beers or ciders! That's what makes this place something special on the shore. Each time I go I try a new beer. It's like a ritual now. Although after recently moving to Paleo I can no longer have beer (boo)! If you like craft beers you will love this place. Now to their food, it's just something else. Well plated up and always so filling. Good hearty meals in one of Auckland's best locations. Nice and close to the beach. Pop along and have a nice relaxing drink in the sun. You won't regret it!

The craft beer brewed by these guys is just brilliant. The food, atmosphere and service shows how well the management run this place. Definitely a great place to go on a lazy Sunday afternoon for a beer and watch the world go by. The calamari is a must try with the 309

Have eaten here on 3 occasions. I think it depends on the night. Sometimes there seems to be an issue with staff..... Too slow or not getting orders correct. In saying this, the food is very good and the dish portions are huge.

Great beer. It's good to see Auckland is coming of age when it comes to boutique beer. There is a good choice of beers to suit all tastes - my preference is the hoppier beers like the IPA. They also have guest beers. Good standards of food provided.

Great food not so sure about the homecraft beer. Great atmosphere and seaview too.

Deep Creek is the first place i went out to since i moved out to this area. <br/>I love the venue, the stills and rustic feeling of the decor makes you feel comfortable and relaxed.<br/>The selection of beers is awesome and great for taking the boys down for a tasting paddle or the girls down for a cocktail or two. The setting out the back is beautiful on a summers night with the water right there, the fairy lights from the surrounding bars and the lazy bustle of people on the waterfront boardwalk. <br/>I havent eaten here yet, only gone for the drinks and the music on fri/sat night. The first time wasa jazz/blues band singing old classics that made you want to get up and dance. The place was packed!<br/>Only disappointments are the Mojitos.. $30.00 for two pretty average mojitos packed with ice and not much else.. and they have a curfew for noise as there are surrounding apartments, so everybody has to move in at around 10:30pm.. making the inside packed and the atmosphere a little forced. Overall a great place to chill out and have a few drinks :)

Down by the bay on a sunny 'shore afternoon, you'll find many of the residents of the surrounding area hanging round Deep Creek Brews & Eats. What's not to like? Beer by the paddle (yep, a tasting paddle of beer can be yours), and if you're a friend or two, then you can get food by the paddle. Coming in at around 35 bucks for a sharing platter 'paddle', you can go Surf n' Turf. The Turf is coated in Jack Daniels sauce, which always goes down well! There's also a seafood, meat only and even a cheese paddle from Puhoi.<br/><br/>The pockets are an awesome idea. The 'Chicks pocket' is a bunch of soft-shell taco wraps with Portuguese marinaded chicken. There are others too, like the 'Skirt pocket' - yep, you guessed it Angus skirt steak, ready and shredded for your eating delights. Not into pockets, there's fettucini, pork belly and a few South African dishes to keep the locals happy. <br/><br/>All in, Deep Creek has a great range of food for a bar, there really is something for everyone. Their prices are a little on the high side, but the rent must be high with a pretty choice location like the one they have.
