Review Warawara - Browns Bay

Friendly table service. Big portions. I like the crispy noodles in the chicken and prawn salad.

Stopped by to have a cuppa tea. I loved Warawara for the way they served their tea. Change of ownership and a different way of serving. Jessie served us and she was super friendly and quick on taking the order.

Unusual and very tasty food along with great friendly service.

Too bad this place is hidden away. It doesn't look great on the outside which is why it's taken me so long to try it but the inside is industrial chic. I've had several of the Japanese dishes incl the salmon and teriyaki chicken and we the girls and I have all found them delicious. The service and coffee is great too!

So good! This place is a little hidden so no wonder I hadn't seen it before. Went here for breakfast this morning. The Whittakers Moccha was AMAZING and my Salmon avocado Benedict was really delicious. We will be back!

Good sized portions and great flavours. Best ice chocolate in Auckland so far. Prices very reasonable, particularly for drinks.

Lovely staff and wonderful food.

The BEST coffee is found here in Browns Bay. Organic Inca Fe! Love the staff here also!! Great atmosphere...nice and cool in Summer, cosy in Winter.

Great cafe, coffee is always great, especially the cold brew. And the Japanese food is great for a change too. Try the chicken misayaki and you won't be disappointed

Good breakfast options at very reasonable prices! Free coffee with over $14 spend. Great whitikers mochas and hot chocolates :)

Amazing lunch! We had the pork Bao and the pancakes but the real highlight was our waitress Cassie who was super friendly and beaming with smiles! Have just moved to the area and will definitely be back!

Been here multiple times and cannot fault it at all! Love the hot chocolate and teriyaki salmon those are my two favourite things off the menu 😊 decent prices and great service highly recommend. Great place to go with my mother as she is fussy and doesn't like Japanese cuisine but I do 😊

Decided to go to Warawara for lunch. Found the service friendly and accommodating. Ordered two dishes. Fantastic teriyaki chicken and also Beef salad. Both meals were very fresh and tasty. Also the well decorated coffees were a cool addition.

Hands down best coffee in Brown's bay 10/10 would recommend to anyone after a tasty affordable coffee. The mochas and hot chocolates are presented as pieces of art and the beans and bacon off of the menu are the perfect belly filler on a dusty Sunday morning.

Really lovely! We went to breakfast here this morning. The staff were super smiley, and the meals came out quickly. OMG the Whittakers Moccha was SO delicious. We had Salmon and Avocado Benedict and the eggs were perfect, the muffins were light and perfectly toasted and the salmon was fresh and yummy. The only downfall was that it was cold in there. Funky decor but all that glass and concrete floors means it must be tough to keep the warmth in. They do have a heater but could maybe invest in one more. We will be back!

Awsome place. I and my couple friends were surprised by the last experience dining out.

The coffee is what I want. Extra hot and nice flavor. I had salmon bene and my friend had chicken salad. All the food is nice presentation and is sooo yum! I will be back try more item on menu. Well done guys.

I absolutely loved this place, it has amazing decor and the chairs are very comfortable, not to mention that the food is very delicious especially the french toast and smoothies!!!! Absolutely love it! Worth going and having lunch there.

I have been here a handful of times and every time I have loved it the food is so lovely, and the staff are so joyful. It's one of my favourite places in brownsbay I love that it's a modern twist on a cafe. The eggs bene is always a winner for me. They get it right every time ❤️

Amazing cafe, with a really good atmosphere and seating area. Beautiful presentation of food and super yummy! I ordered the salmon steak teriyaki noodle and it was super amazing! Bit pricey but worth it. Iced chocolate is really good too, and everything came out in a timely fashion. I must say, the service was pretty shit, not enthusiastic and didn't seem to care about the well being of their customers. Didn't ask how the food was or bothered serving us water. Also at the checkout; a smile would help honey. Service is the only reason why I'm putting 4 stars instead of 5. Food excellent, service shit.

Browns Bay is seriously one of my favourite spots in Auckland and the cafe game here is strong.

Introducing Warawara, hailing from an Jap-Euro fusion doctrine, it serves heavy-weight coffee and some light refreshing teas.

We ordered a El Recuredo Filter coffee, Whittakers hot chocolate, Plum Tea and a glass of six barrel soda.

The coffee had an intense flavour with a little sweet aftertaste which was magnificent. Presentations and arrangement here are definitely knockouts: the Whittakers Hot chocolate came out looking like a champ.

Our tea also came out looking superb and to let y'all in on a little secret, it was actually the tea set up that attracted us to try this place.

Warawara has great character and the staff here are friendly. Unfortunately we had eaten already so weren't able to try their food..... For now.

I look forward to coming back here.

Showstopper: Great Coffee and this place is just relaxing.

Overall Grade : A-

Very happy to have had the pleasure of going to Warawara. Each dish we have had has been deliciously tasty and very impressive to the eye. Hot drinks are served differently to anywhere else I've tried, very cool way to do it. All staff we have encountered on different days have been super friendly, thank you all, and also to your chef, keep up the good work.

Came here for a biz meeting and the place is not bad, a little cold but the food and coffee is all good!

I had a half portion of toast, egg, salmon, tomato and avo it's came to around $14.

The coffee was really good and the girl serving was friendly.

It used to be a great place, and we used to come here often. It seems that the management has changed as well as the service (or to be precise no service) and the quality of food. Today was the last drop - after half an hour no one came to take our order (and yes, we already had to chase to waiter down for the menus), though the customers who came after us have already been served. We had to leave (all seven of us) and not coming back. You can cross us off your regular customers list.

This place went from best to worse, I suspect change of owners. Use to be the only decent place in Browns Bay, now service gone from hero to zero and the last drop was the waitress who licked chocolate of her finger before serving our coffee and 15 min wait on the menus and another 20 min for our order to be taken, below my initial review.

This a best place you can go in Browns bay. Fusion of Japanese and European cuisine with a hipster touch. My favourites are eggs bene and banana porridge, ice coffee is great. Been there a few times by now, always a great experience

Owned by Koreans, the cafe's interior was very homly and cute
Their chemex coffee was superb.
Cabinet food is not as good as their main menu
It had a fusion sort of vibe, western and Japanese food together which was lovely
If you're around in browns bay pop in here to have brunch ! :)

I eat at Warawara a lot. The staff are super friendly and the food is amazingly tasty and beautiful to look at. I love the western menu along side the Japanese one. Something to suit everyone. My favourite is misoyaki chicken and my son can't go past the French toast. Totally recommend it.

This cafe confuses me. Lovely staff and great service. Good coffee and food.. Love the interiors and the mural outside. But how can they call this a Japanese eatery?! I mean.. where's the Japanese food? I'm pretty sure the owners are Korean. I understand that Asian cafes and restaurants will often westernise their food to appeal to kiwis..but I would of loved to see something a bit different and authentic in Browns bay. We already have tons of Cafes making blts and chicken salads.

Couldn't recommend Warawara enough! It is such a cool cafe to visit for just coffee, breakfast or lunch! The staff are so friendly, serving me before their official opening hours while not judging me for wearing socks and no shoes. The inside décor and layout is very modern and cool. The food is amazing and the fusion between classic cafe food and Japanese dishes is so different, setting Warawara apart from all the other cafes.

Had breakfast here for the first time and pleasantly surprised. The cafe is hidden away a bit from the main st but well worth a visit!
Breakfast was good as was the flat white. Coffee by Incafe. My other half enjoyed the rather elaborate 'tea' serving, which was served in a glass teapot with flame underneath.
All in all a good addition to the plethora of Browns Bay cafes.

Found this lovely place on Zomato with high recommendation from other foodies, let's check it out. Friendly welcome from the waitress and barista. There are Xmas decorations set up already throughout the whole cafe, can see the effort and lovin the staff put into. Ordered a chicken misoyaki and eggs on toast with smoke salmon and spinach on side. Great flavor and presentation. Coffee were above standard. All in all, excellent customer service, fantastic food and coffee and will be back definitely.

This is probably the best cafe I have been to in a very long time. The cage itself looks amazing! Service was great, the waitresses and waiters are all very friendly, helpful and take good care of what you need. The coffee is great! And the food is even better! I highly recommend this to anyone who would like to try Japanese fusion food, it's delicious! I will definitely be back and be telling everyone about you :)

After a previous disappointing visit a year or so ago this is now my favourite cafe! THE BEST coffee. Friendly staff and beautiful food. Prices are especially reasonable. Definitely a business worth giving business to!

Fantastic cafe/restaurant. Great staff. Best coffee, recommend the cold drip coffee. Food is excellent - breakfast stuff, salads, calamari, and sweet corn fritters - all very good.

This place is a serious hidden gem in Browns bay. Consistently the best coffees. Well priced food that is always delicious! I highly recommend this place.

I had a pleasant Sunday morning in Warawara. The food was delicious, the coffee was excelent, and I love the cafe design.
I and my husband had a salmon tataki served with salad and sesame dressing, an open hamburg burger, a flat white, a moccaccino, and a hot chocolate. What a big brunch! The seared salmon was perfectly matched with the sour dressing and the wasabi. The open hamburg burger was a bit sweet because of the caramelised onion. For two foods and three beverages, we spent 47$. It's worth to come back
