Such a great place close to the water. Massive menu, we had Mince on Toast and Bacon Bennie. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu

Highly recommended! Today, I took my family to visit The food is delicious, the quantity is very big, the staff is very enthusiastic! Ingredients are purchased fresh every day, and the delicious sauce is cooked by the chef himself. great coffee! BROWNS BAY's must-see cafe is the perfect place for a small lunch break.

Delicious food, friendly staff and great view. I had the Spanish Big Breakfast with gluten-free bread, and an iced chocolate with almond milk. Both were delicious and I’ll be coming back again!

Good food ,friendly service would recommend . Had the corn fritters with Xtra bacon and eggs. Very nicely presented tasty food, salad had a lil bit shredded cabbage which gave it a nice crunch. Very refreshing.

Amazing food. Had the mince meat on a ciabatta roll with hash brown and THE best poached eggs I have ever experienced. I'm U.S.American and NZ knows eggs!

Great cafe along the beach front with great views. I like there menu, the staff were good. There was a bit of a wait but it to be expected as it was a Sunday at peak time so it was busy. The food was good and good vaule too. I'll be back again.

Food and the coffee was great. It's a beach front Cafe with lovely views on a sunny day. Staff is also very helpful and friendly.

Best Turkish lamb skewer and coffee was really good.
Belinda Liley
Went for lunch today. I had the seafood chowder. It was delicious. Full of lovely seafood in a creamy sauce. Hubby had an omelette which was also very good
Dave Koefoed
Quiet lunch for two. Good selection of cabinet food, along with a menu, which also looked good. Settled for paninis and drinks. The menu said licensed, but when we asked what they had, were told this is only a summer thing, should be better advertised. Would come again.

One of the best cafes in Brown's Bay! Always busy especially on weekends, but the food is always spot on, the coffee is great and the staff are always friendly, their service is always fantastic!
Cara Bouwer
The food was bad, as it lacked in flavour and the eggs benedict made me feel very sick after eating. The cafe had very average service, the food took a while yet that is not the waiter's fault. Overall wouldn't go back.
Doris Montoya
Cozy place with excellent coffee. Tasty cake selection. Good place for a lunch and small bite. Best coffee shop by far around the area. Friendly staff. Nothing is too much to ask for.

Every time to Browns bay, Jave Jungle is my first priority, good location, good food, and good service, enjoy every meal in this restaurant!
Nathaniel K
Most of the food was alright. French Toast was served with very green bananas and the banana smoothie most likely used these bananas as it had next to no taste. Eggs Benedict was served with solid yolk instead of being runny. Wouldn’t recommend this place for breakfast. Cash register is in an inconvenient location because the waitresses have to squeeze past a group of people wanting to pay as it is next to the kitchen. 1/5 for bad design
Warren Taua
It's the perfect brunch spot in a cozy area! Great open dining area outside, great service, and great food. They offer a lot of options which allows people with dietary restrictions to enjoy.
S&G Take Auckland
Nice staff and a good location for a cafe. The seafood pasta was super average quite milky and lacked in flavour. Good amount of seafood compared to other places. The eggs Benedict with salmon was good too but again just the usual. Good to visit with an entertainment card

Visited Java Jungle for the first time today. Very impressed; the staff are great, very courteous, attentive and efficient, and the food is delicious and was served promptly. Would be pleased to dine there again. Also, the setting is nice looking out to the Browns Bay beach reserve and Hauraki Gulf.  The only slight negative is that their website including the menu needs updating. Pleased to give a 5 rating.

Love the food and great coffee, they do a fab eggs bene - only negative I can say is every time I’ve been in recently (last three times) a part of my order has been forgotten and I’ve had to pop in and remind them of a missing tea or cake etc. Other than that great little cafe and lovely views of browns bay beach.

Great service, fast efficient service, wonderful staff, lovely food, fabulous coffee, beautiful view of the Bay.Definetely go back. Highly recommended

Went down today and ordered chicken livers. Yum. Their coffee was great as well, drank a latte bowl, my friend got a berry smoothie. The waiting staff was very friendly and the view was beautiful. Would recommend and would visit again!

Lovely service and nice friendly cafe and environment to sit in, nice by the beach and a good atmosphere. Excellent coffee and wonderful staff, made my experience enjoyable. Will be back for sure.

Service was good but food was bland, dry and tasteless. Wouldnt recommend and Wouldn’t go back again. Fish was dry and overcooked. My friend had big breakfast bland and tasteless. <br/>
Aniela Leaming
Good service, pretty nice food. Eggs benedict was good, and berry smoothie was good too. Mum got fish bagel and was dry and not too flavourful. Brother got big breakfast and nothing was seasoned. Overall ok experience
Siobhan Anderson
Food was ok. Ordered eggs Benedict and the eggs weren’t even runny! Then what really put me off. Was I was walking past their “staff room” where also all their dried foods are stored and one of the staff were SMOKING INSIDE this room. After seeing that, I will never come back to this place ever again.
Erin Spasov
Had chicken bacon and grilled banana salad. Yum yum yum. Unbelievable. Staffs are extremely friendly and professional. Kids enjoyed coloring in on print out kids menu. Kids Margarita pizza is big and looked yummy. None left so couldn't try it this time.

Went here for breakfast this morning. Ordered an coffee, hot choc, Omelette and mince on toast. Should have taken a pic as the food was well presented. Overall really happy! Would definitely go back here. The meals are well priced and the food was good! Service was good too. Browns Bay doesn’t have many great cafes but this is one I’d be happy to come back to!

This is our favourite place to eat breakfast as the breakfast are awesome and not to badly priced either. The staff are sometimes good and sometimes we have to get our own menus and ask to be served.. that's because they are all really young. They aren't the best customer service place but they do try. But the food is awesome

I have never eaten out in browns bay but since I finished my job on the shore I thought I'd give it a go. I struggled to find a nice cafe with a good breakfast menu so this was a great spot! The service was great, lots of people and food at reasonable price!
Nina
Service was efficient, location amazing and tables were clean. <br/>Ordered chicken penne pasta, wow for a cafe it was absolutely amazing, not much salt, portion size was great can easily feed 2.<br/>Chicken was cooked perfectly not over or under. <br/>I knew it was a cafe so you get your own water and it is your choice if you want to pay before it after you eat. Cabinet food looks delicious as well, great presentation.<br/>Would recommend and go again :) :) :)
Glen Lash
Horrid service, found hair in my food under cooked / runny eggs burnt bacon (big breakfast)<br/>the only thing that was good was the view and my flat white was great
Shreya Divakar
A nice place for a breakfast or lunch..it is beach facing.. service is good.. pretty much options for vegetarians ..we had ordered French toast and quassadilla.. it was just amazing.. little expensive 😐

Great location near the beach! With seating outside this place seemed to be popular on a sunny day. Starting with the service – we found it was a mixed bag. We were approached by one lady that was slow to take our orders and was very bland when making suggestions from the menu. Then we had another lady that served our food, she was more friendly and enthusiastic. It was the simple things that were missed like being greeted and seated, bringing water to the table and checking we were happy with our meals.<br/> <br/>Their coffee is reasonably priced, for those who are big drinkers you can get a generous bowl for $5. However, on their second attempt (first had 2 sugars instead of 2 equals) our flat white was strong and quite bitter. We ordered two dishes during our visit and unfortunately both were nothing above average. The eggs benedict was nicely presented and a reasonable portion. The eggs being the star of the dish were both overdone and there was no runny yolk oozing out when I put my knife through it. The mushrooms were a bit bland and could have done with some extra seasoning or sauce. The hollandaise sauce was nice and much needed with the eggs being so dry. My partner ordered the big breakfast (vegetarian). I was jealous to see the yolks slowly pour out from his eggs… at least they got his right. He liked the hashbrowns and saucy mushrooms.<br/> <br/>As we aren’t familiar with the area we picked the café that looked the busiest. Unfortunately, Java jungle cafe missed the mark for us during our visit. Maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes we thought… but being the staple dishes from the breakfast menu we expected a little more. Looking at the other reviews they are either really good or bad. If they can retain some consistency they could really be on to something, especially with in a key location.

Java jungle is one of the best places for brunch or even a coffee in brownsbay, being right on the beach it's great in summer and has such a great view. I love coming here and because I spend so much time on this side of town this has always been a go to place they make the yummiest lattes and the sweetest pancakes you will ever try. It's such a cute little cafe and the vibe is always so nice. The only down fall is the last two times I've been there we waited 20 minutes before we got given menus or even asked if we wanted a drink but other than that I adore this little place. Food and presentation and staff are such a high light ✨✨

Excellent breakfast - very generous portions and friendly prompt service. Salmon with Bagel is fresh and tasty. Multigrain toast with poached eggs and bacon an awesome choice - room ch to finish!<br/>Lovely to be able to sit outside with my dog!

I've tried this place a few times and never had good experiences and went back there the weekend past as there is not a lot of choice in browns bay so decided to give it another try. My partner and I sat at a table for 10 minutes with no service, I had to go and ask for menus. After looking at the menu for over 10 minutes, still no body had come to our table to ask for orders or bring water. We ended up leaving without ordering a thing because the lack of service was just ridiculous!

Love this cafe!!!<br/>Brilliant service and excellent coffee. Always such lovely warm greetings walking through the door. My mornings are always improved by the lovely lattes and delicious pancakes on the beach!!<br/>Extra thanks to the English blonde waitress who always makes me feel welcome and goes out of her way to check everything is OK.<br/>Be back very soon! :) :)

Have been to this cafe a few times. Coffee is brilliant, staff very friendly and helpful. Don't know what the person below is talking about, the tall blonde English girl was incredibly helpful and polite. She clearly knows how to handle customers and was very professional. Not many other places you can sit on the beachfront and have a coffee for reasonable prices.

My wife, daughters and I took my mother to the Java Jungle Cafe on Sunday. We ordered long blacks and chocolate brownies. The layout of the service area is weird, it is right in the path of the waiting staff taking plates to and from the kitchen , which is very distracting - well actually annoying! The service was slow and not particularly friendly. To say that the coffee was the worse we have ever had wouldn't even come close, we only gave the place a score of one as you could eat the chocolate brownie - actually my daughters didn't, they left half as they didn't think it was very good. It suffice to say that we will not be back.

The coffee is very good here but  your staff are doing you no favours.  The tall blonde English girl has such a bad attitude, maybe should look at a different profession or more customer service training.  We came as a large group and started to put a couple of tables together, there was no-one else there for us to disturb and we thought we were helping staff.  This girl came out and very rudely told us to stop and not to move the tables without her permission.  Needless to say we moved on and the cafe lost money and our business as we won't be going back.  We have noticed her bad attitude before but tried to ignore it, sorry whoever owns the cafe but you need to choose your staff better.  This is the first time I've ever critiqued anything on here but I was just so taken aback with her bad manners.  Not used to this in Browns Bay, every other cafe we've used have always been so friendly.
Lovely Maralit
I tried the carrot cake and I thought it was a little dry and floury although the icing was nice. I had this with a smoothie and it was a perfect combo.

Very average experience. Staff seemed a bit rushed and didn't seem to have much time for good customer service. Food was average and had to wait a while. One thing I thought was good was they had lots of activities for kids like puzzles, coloring books etc and that was great for my three year old. Wouldn't go back again though.

Came here for breakfast and ordered the muesli which was delicious and very filling. On the other hand my partner had the French toast but as he doesn't eat banana he was disappointed with the portion size. The coffees were good and it was nice to sit outside on a sunny winters day!

The service and food here are not good. I ordered a pizza today, but pizza dough was extremly tough like rawhide . I won't go to Java jungle cafe next time.

Went here for brunch today as we thought we would try somewhere different from our usual. The cafe has a large dining area with a few tables outside. <br/><br/>The service here isn't great, we sat down and the first person that came to see us was friendly enough other than that there was nothing. Someone dropped our drinks off and our food took awhile but then someone else dropped that off. No water, no enjoy your meals nothing. <br/><br/>The food is ok, I had the French toast and the bacon and bananas were done well but there wasn't much syrup and the bread was average. My partner had the big breakfast, again bacon was done well however the mushrooms he said tasted like they were floating in butter and the sausage was strangely sweet... <br/><br/>Our drinks were weird too I ordered a vanilla milkshake and what I got was a frappe. My partners coffee was very bitter as well. <br/><br/>Probably wouldn't come back as there are many other places I enjoy.

Food was average at best expensive for what it was do not get the creamy mushrooms they are inedible staff were very Unaccommodating will not be going back such a shame for such a great location

Went to Java Jungle for brunch this morning, had their big breakfast and a chocolate milkshake. It was delightful, the staff are welcoming and polite, there's an exquisite view of Browns bay beach, and the food was served quickly. It was the perfect stay to a rainy Sunday, defs worth a visit if your in the mood for a hearty breakfast.

First the positive stuff - This morning was chilly and bright and the restaurant was comfortably warm. Hubby had French toast with bacon, banana and maple syrup and really enjoyed it. My salmon eggs Benedict was perfect and beautifully presented. Our hot chocolates were delicious. Love the cheery red and white S&P crockery. The service was fast, efficient and friendly. <br/><br/>Now for the not-so-good stuff -  I would have given it a full "5" if it hadn't been for a most annoying disturbance that went on and on and on, which spoilt the lovely breakfast experience for us and others::: a group arrived and decided to start rearranging the tables and chairs to suit their numbers in a noisy manner, with no regard for the other patrons. The crashing and scraping reverberated in the closed restaurant, and they rearranged their tables a staggering three times before staff took control and finally got them settled.  Had the staff been more proactive, and had they taken control of the situation in a more timely manner, it would have cut the annoyance factor down considerably and it would not have been the main thing we now remember about our first experience at Java Jungle. Will we go back? Yes... but we will give some other Browns Bay cafes a try before that, to put some distance between then and today's experience.

Very friendly staff and nice service. Personally, the flat white was a little bit bitter, but pretty foam. Food was tasty. Raw materials were fresh.
Kristina Mastakova
My friend and I decided to pop in for breakfast. We ordered eggs benedict and the mince on toast. Wonderful service, great food, reasonable pricing. Such a relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff.

Brilliant good value breakfast with a great view. Really enjoy the friendly service and willingness to please😄 highly recommend if you want a good quality breakfast.

Great food. Beach front views, super fast food and mega tasty.... In a word wow! Ordered Chicken sandwich and beef burger..... Both faultless.... Will definitely return.

I love coming here, my local cafe for coffee and breakfast. Even travel 15 minutes JUST to get my dose of daily coffee. Staff are amazing and always have a friendly warm welcome and chat to them. If you get the chance GO HERE!!!!!!!

Family had lunch there a few weeks ago, really nice food, chips friendly, & not ova priced.<br/><br/>Will revisit sometime soon. Great service to boot!

My favorite place in Browns Bay. Just love the staff. Have been going to Java Jungle for years now. New cafes have come and gone but I still prefer here. So close to the beach and park for the kids too.

Beautiful sunny mornings normally inspire us to be brave and try somewhere new for brunch. This time, we didn’t head too far away from our regular haunt, unfortunately we found the experience a little dreary.<br/><br/>Orders up were, one big breakfast and the breakfast salad.<br/><br/>General comments: <br/><br/>The bacon didn’t hit the spot (which is a big fail for me ) On both dishes it was a little dry and almost had that ‘reheated’ taste/texture to it.<br/><br/>Scrambled eggs with the big breakie were a little dry, and there seemed to be very ‘little’ on the plate.<br/><br/>The salad, and yes I know it’s a salad, I found to be very dull and insipid. There are few places that make a memorable breakfast salad (“People” on Ponsonby was one place that use to make a good one) but in this day and age with all the ways to spice up the humble vegetable, I was expecting something a little more.<br/><br/>Coffee was fine, not memorable, but fine. <br/><br/>Service was quick and efficient. <br/><br/>If I’m brave, on my next visit I think I’ll just poke my head inside and check out the cabinet food. This seemed to be where most traffic around us was headed.

Popped in for a hot drink out of the chilly day on a weekend at the playground/beach - it was great to still have the view of the beach but be indoors. Absolute highlight was the fluffy - chocolate flavoured with two marshmallows which had my friend's little girl's eyes like saucers. Found it a bit odd to have my coffee served in a blue glass, we 'eat with our eyes', so the colour combination of the blue and brown was a little off-putting. Quite a strong coffee flavour for those who prefer it.
Tori Taylor
Went here for their breakfast deal and was absolutely blown away with the service. I sat outside with my friend and ordered eggs on toast, which came with a complimentary tea or coffee. I think I paid $17 for the entire thing and when my breakfast came out, the portion size was perfect! Great customer service too. I love going for breakfast to places where I'm not harassed by my waiter, but they still give me enough attention to not feel like a neglected customer. Will definitely come back!!!

Very nice cafe! My sister and I found it in the  Offerbook app months ago and became regular clients! The cappuchino is great and the locations is perfect! Also I like the staff, which are very nice and always smiling!
Ciara
Had a very average breakfast here, all the meat ingredients where obviously deepfried, sausages, bacon, potatoes (salad potatoes) not good. The setting is nice and service ok but the breakfast on this particular occasion was well below average

Good view and great food and affordable too...the chicken liver was yummmmyyyy.. I had the eggs on toast with bacon.. We ordered our food and coffee it took around 10 mins for the food to come out, which is a very reasonable time frame. We sat outside were we had a good view of the beach and had no idea we spent over an hour over there.. It's nice to be able to just relax in a cafe without being bothered...
Andre Cressy
Another great little place in browns bay to have a coffee and something to eat. Staff are always friendly, prices are reasonable and food is really good. Has kids toys which is great as well.
Harri Well
Food and service was great and I would defiantly eat here again except they don't have free range anything so I wouldn't buy any dish that was from a caged or crated animal

We were floating around Browns bay, indecisive of what we want to eat. We didn't want to go too far for food, but at the same time picky on what we want to have. We ended up walking the whole of Clyde road and still didn't have a clue on what to have. Then we just kept walking and eventually found ourselves walking into jungle Java cafe. I was expecting it to be one of those regular cafes, but they turned out to have some pretty interesting things on their menu. I ordered the chicken and banana salad and my friend ordered the squid salad. To my surprise, the food came out really good. Portion was huge, and the banana really complimented the salad adds a little sweetness to it. I don't usually like the idea of a sweet salad but this was the right amount of sweet with salty. Presentation of the food looks fantastic too, other than the drizzle of sauce all around the side of the plate may be a little over the top. But overall , I was definitely impressed by Browns bay standards. They were super super busy too, doing really well as a business.

Hello,<br/><br/>My partner and I just had what I struggle to call lunch at your café.   To say I was disappointed is a understatement.  I had the beef burger which was extremely under seasoned and the geuyere cheese, well that was actually grated cheddar.  The bun was so dry it crumbled into crumbs. The fries on my plate looked like and tasted like the oil in your fryer was so old jesus filled it.My partners chicken sandwich was far from gourmet as it states on the menu. Don't let me stop there, service was poor right from the outset. Half full glasses of water delivered to the table by hand, perhaps a tray may have been a good idea. Not at any stage did your staff check to see how we were enjoying our meal, this didn't even occur when we were paying the bill, and might I add you're lucky we did. The entire experience was to be fair a absolute joke, how you survive in a prime location is beyond me. I would have rather given my cash to a complete stranger on the street, only to have avoided the feeling of being completely ripped off. And before you pass judgment on me being a know it all home cook who watches masterchef ( I suggest your chefs watches, they might learn something) I am the head chef of a very well known and respected restaurant.  So I suggest you pull your socks up and learn a thing or two  about how to run a cafe. You don't have to be super flash <br/>and fine dining to be good. This review would not have been so rude had your staff been attentive. I gave you a chance to respond before this review was posted, but you chose to ignore my email to you.<br/><br/>

Went there with my husband on a weekend not busy at all.ordered two coffee ,one pancake and salad. Food came before the coffee!! Asked a few times and turned out they completely forgot about the coffee. Waited for 15 mins for the coffee to come at the end. Not good coffee and very overcooked pancake and tasteless salad.wont ever go back again even though location is good.got offered free coffee to come back who would want to come back really!!<br/><br/>Bad service and bad food, don't waste your money and time there.
Dorisz O'Rourke
French fries- supposed to be simple to make - tasteless. <br/>Coffee!!! Please if you only butchering the "black gold", you should stay away from the coffee machine. There are professionals called: Baristas - (takes for years to earn the name) for this job. Sorry but even a nice smile couldn't change my mind to post this.
Sally Dorman
Pretty average really. My mushroom had been overcooked and chewy. The pancakes on my stepson's platter had been warmed up in the microwave causing the outside the be tough and the folded side burnt. The salads ordered were ok. Coffee a bit weak and luke warm. <br/><br/>Voting with our feet and won't be back. Did tell the cashier about the pancakes but no offer of refund or coffee voucher. By then my husband had already paid.
Rand
I went there in March 2014 ordered breakfast, the breakfast portion was very small for $19 it realy looked like a kids meal ... very disappointed with the quality of the food as well ... not going again
Charles
I went there with my family earlier on today. The service was very slow, 40mins. The creamy mushrooms had no cream and the pizza was very under cooked. Please steer well clear. Any restaurant on the same walkway is far better than this one.
The Guppy
Beautiful location next to the beach.<br/>Well-meaning service, but with a few mistakes, sometimes not very well dealt with. My partner ordered a side of bacon with his eggs on toast but the bacon didn't come, and then it took aaaages to come out. I'm normally pretty patient with this kind of thing, but it only works if the staff are appropriately apologetic, and perhaps offer a coffee on the house or something... instead we felt like we were inconveniencing them.<br/><br/>That said, the food was pretty good. And the coffees were average to good. <br/><br/>Still an enjoyable experience, but with a few hitches. Probably wouldn't go back.
David Huang
Environment 4/5<br/><br/>Visited the cafe on Sunday morning, very windy and cold, sat outside with our dog and had breakfast. Easy parking, good view at the beach, quite cold sitting outside, could do with some wind breaker and heater.<br/><br/>Service 3.5/5<br/><br/>The service provided is prompt and came with a smile. The cafe is not overly busy for a Sunday morning.<br/>However, they did seems like they are rushed off their feet, no water brought to the table while it is table service. <br/><br/>There is a big group inside the cafe enjoying their family gathering with lots of kid running around. A bit noisy, the premises could do with some noise control or acoustic treatment.<br/><br/>Coffee 2/5<br/><br/>My long black is almost undrinkable, even after adding a whole jug of hot water to dilute it. Extremely bitter.<br/>My girlfriend hot chocolate is nice, very chocolaty and nice milk temp and texture.<br/>Overall, the barista knows how to steam milk. However, the coffee is a bit let down. I saw the machine, Kees van Dee Spirit. Impressive display of machinery.<br/> <br/>Food 3/5<br/><br/>The menu is impressively extensive with well over 35 items on it, ranging between breakfast to lunch, eggs on toast to Pizza.<br/>We order chicken liver $19.90 and fish bagel $15.90, long black &amp; hot chocolate.<br/><br/>The coffee arrive within 10 minutes and meal took another 20 minutes which we thought it is a bit slow. Also, we notices that two table that order after us received their food before we did. So a bit annoyed.<br/><br/>Chicken liver- panfried liver with field mushroom and bacon in gravy served with mashed kumara. No more than what has been described on the menu, nice flavour but a bit greasy and lots of gravy. Could do with a bit more flair or interesting component. I like chicken liver, but I also did pay 19.90 for this. Not worth the money.<br/><br/>Fish bagel - panfried fish with aioli and green served with chips. Normal, fish is cooked nicely, bagel slightly over toasted which made the whole thing a bit hard to eat. My girlfriend seems to enjoyed it, except the hard to cut bagel which she struggled from time to time.<br/><br/>Overall 3/5<br/><br/>Nice location at Browns bay, up coming beach front al fresco cafe scene. This is a cafe that is half way there, good service and environment. Just need to work on their coffee and food.

Made a visit here today for a cofee-<br/>Staff were very friendly i was greeted as soon as i walked through the door- coffee arrived very quick, this place is now gets the ' best soy fw' in auckland title sorry to the guys in grey lynn at my usual local cafe who held this title previously.<br/>Furthmore the lady who was working by her self was very prompt in taking menus to a group of 4 who obviously made a visit every morning, simply asking if they would like their usual beverages.<br/>Top marks Java Jungle, it is often the little things which stick &amp; will continue to bring return customers. Your customer service was fantastic . I have opted for 4 stars to as there is always room for improvement. Well Done
Dana
Stumbled upon this Cafe after the Sunday markets for breakfast. Had my two dogs with me and found this place to be very dog friendly as there was a fresh bowl of water on the ground as well as numerous other dogs seated with their owners. <br/><br/>Beautiful location by the beach. My partner was delighted to see mince on toast as a breakfast option. Only downfall was the coffee didn't come until we were well and truly finished breakfast. But we have been back twice now and have been extremely happy with the food and service. <br/><br/>Cheers we will be back again and again!

What can I say, I love, love, love this place, me and my boyfriend stumbled upon this wonderful cafe last weekend and ordered the fav $25 deal that they have for a pizza and two drinks, this is the most primo deal ever, we walked out of there happy and fill. We went back again tonight and took along my boyfriends 6 year old child and they were wonderful and catered for us and what we needed. I cant recommend them enough. The bonus thing is we all could eat at Java Jungle Cafe and then if we have the child we head over from there where there is a park for children to play at, so its a win win situation for all ages :) keep up your awesome work guys your doing an awesome job, nice to walk into a place with smiley staff.

This cafe is a regular Sunday morning breakfast venue for my wife and I. Probably the best cafe in Browns Bay with great views over the beach.<br/><br/>The food and service is always of a high standard. Over the several times we have been here we have never had to complain.....and we complain alot !<br/><br/>This was once a cafe where you went with the kiddies. The noise was unbearable and one had to sit outside for sanity (not that I dislike children). But now the kids area has gone and although many families still go it is a far better cafe.

Use to be child Friendly and my local coffee stop every morning, Last time i went in, play area has gone and all the staff looked depressed, Have found another child friendly cafe up the road, Such a shame as my kids LOVED the little play area

I have been here once before and had the mushroom and blue cheese soup. When I returned to have it again, it was a different recipe and was inedible. It tasted like a cream sauce, no mushroom or blue cheese tang. I was horrified to find solidified fat globdules all through it.. some were little pieces, but there were a dozen pieces of fat as big as my thumbnail. It went straight in the bin. I might go back for a drink, but I wouldn't return to eat.

Food was great but the service was shocking . I ordered my meal a few minutes before my two friends. My meal came out (which incidentally was cold). Theirs didn't arrive until about 10 minutes after I had finished mine.<br/><br/>Not only that but they then missed a side of eggs, we asked for them and had to ask a second time before they finally arrived!<br/><br/>The duty manager came out to offer a refund of our meals, which we didn't expect, she left to arrange this but after a further 10 minutes of waiting without her reappearing we left the restaurant. <br/><br/>Very disappointing

Fantastic place for dinner in Browns Bay. We come here regularly during the day with the kids. Four weeks ago, we came for a couple of drinks after work and had dinner.steaks were fantastic, lovely friendly service. We have been back for dinner for the last four Fridays and will come again next week. Can't reccommend enough.

As a regular customer of Java Jungle I have always found staff very friendly and the level of service excellent. I quite often take my granddaughter in for lunch/snack/dinner and I find the food to be lovely and reasonable priced compared to other cafes. My granddaughter loves to play in the play area which leaves me to have my coffee in peace. Browns Bay definitely needs a child friendly cafe as it can be very nerve racking taking children into cafes that are not quite so friendly towards kids. The best coffee and hot chocolate in Browns Bay. The food is Delicious and I will definitely be back on a regular basis.

I have been bringing the family here for a long time now. The food is always fresh and tasty and the kids are entertained so my hubbie and I can sit back and enjoy our meal. We had dinner here for the first time and it's just a great extension of the daytime menu. We even got one meal for free as they have a special on. We will continue to make this our regular weekend treat.

Gutted!<br/>We went down to Java Jungle for lunch on saturday as a gift to thank a friend for some work she had done. <br/>After ordering and sitting down I was told I couldn't have the fish cakes so changed my order to eggs benedict without bread (allergic to yeast) and had bread swapped for hash browns on all other meals. We spent $120 for 2 adults and 3 kids on meals and drinks and when it all arrived there was barely any food. They clearly make money by piling plates full of bread with very little else to I went straight back up and explained I wasn't sure there was enough so ordered some chips and a side of baked beans to have WITH OUR MEAL. We ate, we finished eating, we sat, kids got bored, we continued to sit, we noticed around 8 other groups have received full table orders, finally I got up to ask and hey presto beans and chips arrive long after plates were cleared. I was gutted. It was supposed to be a nice thankyou, we spent a decent amount there and it didn't seem to much to ask for friendly service and enough food. We left there and took the kids to McDonalds. <br/>What a pity, would be great to have a child friendly cafe in Browns bay that were also customer friendly.

Shame the service here is so slack and rude as the food is great its just the staff that have let it down. I have been here 4 times now to give benefit of the doubt and the food is good, yet every time the staff have let it down...what a shame

My family and I have been regulars for quite some time now. The food is always delicious and and looks amazing. The coffee is the best in the area by far and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Our son loves the train table! Just what Browns Bay needed. Thanks Java Jungle!

Will not be going there again!!!! have been a regular for a while now but today I booked a table for 5 for breakfast outside, we reserved the table and arrived to find that they had let other patrons eating inside to tie their dog up to our table because it was in the shade, then I ordered the mushrooms and when it arrived it was a plate of ciabatta with not much mushrooms and they had so much salt on they burnt my mouth (the chef agreed with me) so instead of being offered my money back I was offered a free coffee!! And then to add insult to injury we watched the news tonight (Easter Sunday) and found out that cafes were breaking the law by charging a surcharge today...Java Jungle were charging an extra 15%, as i said we have always been regulars but after todays performance we will not be back and i will be telling everybody :( ..... <br/><br/>Update: Further to receiving an email from the woman that owns this place in response to my negative feedback where she has personally attacked me I will be posting what she sent me on facebook so everybody can see what a nasty piece of work she is...If you cant handle any negative feedback from MenuMania then why be a member...I wish I didnt even have to give her 1 star but the no star is not an option.

Pity there are only 5 stars, as this place ticks all the boxes and more. Prompt, friendly service, great family atmosphere, awesome food and great prices in one of the most beautiful settings around. By far the best of all the high quality eateries on the strip (and the best burgers I have ever had)!! Thanks Java Jungle:)

Great food and awesome service. Best eggs Benedict ever ( so says my cousin from Toronto, big traveller and big eater) great play area for children. Afterwards go for a walk on browns bay beach or take children to playground.

Coffee is GREAT if you get the girl with long blonde-ish hair making it. Anyone else making it- it's average-ok. This establishment use to be wonderful with fantastic food. Since it has changed hands to new owners the food is bad- twice i have found something in my food. Blue cheese wrapping in my soup a couple of years ago and something dodgey resembling skin in a brownie. I am too revolted to eat there again. However it is still on the cards for coffee.<br/><br/><br/>----- 18 Apr, 2011 -----<br/><br/>Nice little joint. Lacks 'atmosphere' and is quite 'cold' feeling inside. The cabinet food is quite nice which I often purchase. It's a tad pricey but I really appreciate that the vegetables used are so crisp and fresh (whether it's a pasta salad or salad in a sandwhich).<br/><br/>I'd like to see more sandwhiches on offer.

I came with a group of mum's as it is a child friendly cafe. I think not. Staff service was poor, food was below average and over priced for what it is. Some of the cakes on offer look like my 8 year old had made them! Not at all what I expected. The decor and atmosphere is lacking. I will not be returning, neither will my group. Too expensive for what you get.

It's awesome to have a child friendly cafe in browns bay. My son loves playing in the toy corner while us mums can catch up and chat. 2 criticisms though.. I ordered a strawberry smoothies there and it was not good at all. It tasted really artificial and watery tasting &amp; left a funny taste in my mouth. I couldnt finish it. When I asked what it was I was told it was some sort of powder. Usually expect smoothies to be made with fresh fruit &amp; maybe yogurt?<br/><br/>Also my husband and I had been regularly going down for breakfast for a special which was eggs and coffee for 9.95 but the last time we went we were advised it was no longer running which was a shame as that was a usp for us, so we left &amp; went elsewhere and probably won't be back for breakfast as it's quite pricey

My husband and I have made it our weekend tradition to have coffee and a bite to eat from this cafe, we love the location and the coffee is really good. Excellent to have at long last a child friendly cafe in Browns Bay, great idea Java Jungle!!!! Our toddlers love playing there and especially like the special kids treats like the chocolate marshmallow sticks!!! It's great having the choice of ordering food from the menu and from the cabinet, and it's very good value for money. This is by far our favourite eatery in Browns Bay, we look forward to heading back there this Saturday!!!!

My coffee group for new mums went to Java Jungle after a pleasant initial meal. However, on 2 subsequent occasions we had an experience which has put us off further visits. <br/>On the first occasion, we were asked to leave after having coffee and cake as the lunch rush was approaching- fair enough, we were taking up tables that could be used by prospective lunch time diners. We returned for our next weekly meet up and made sure we ordered a 2nd round of drinks within the hour to be reasonable. <br/>However, we were tersely asked to leave again while still consuming the drinks purchased, despite many free tables around us. We were a small group of brand new mums and the unavoidable prams, and thought we would be welcome as this seemed a family friendly environment, with an inviting childrens play area.<br/>Instead, we were left feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable. Not the best word of mouth for a new venue I would think!

I had breakfast this morning. The setting for this cafe is great. But that's the only good part. I ordered a big breakfast for $18.50 and a caramel latte. The latte came in a small water glass and cost me $5.50. Which is a rip off. The breakfast came in good time and was a good amount. But the quality was lacking. The sausages were cheap, like a bulk bag from the mad butcher and they were lightly burnt. I ended up giving them to my dog. I had poached eggs, they had been poach with malt vinegar. So they were all brown and dirty looking. The bacon was crispy, which I don't mind. But some of it was burnt and I never asked for crispy bacon. After paying $26 for all this I was very unhappy. As a chef in a cafe myself I was quite put back. I have a sausage supplier in browns bay. a very good butcher and a quality product. I do not understand why cafe cut corners in such obvious ways. <br/>I also had some hollandaise sauce. I'm not sure if it was a bought product but it certainly looked and tasted like it. <br/>The service was average. I never got asked if everything was ok. not once was I checked on. I left with my plate still on the table and there was only 3 tables occupied. <br/><br/>Very poor. I will not be returning to Java Jungle. <br/>I believe they should take more care and passion in there food and products.
