Nicest fish and chip we’ve had in Auckland, the Hoki and chips were so so good 🙂

The food is quality.. probably top 10 fish and chips shop place for me. I would say they abit pricy tho but it's what you would pay in that area. The best part about this place is that is so close to the beach, it's practically on the beach, 2 minute walk from the beach depending where you are on the the beach. Can't say anything bad about the food.

Very hard to fault. I got a portion of chips, a large piece of Terakihi and 2 potato fritters for $11. In my wrapper was a beautiful fresh fish, heaps of crispy chips and 5 potato fritters. I could not finish this delicious meal, there was just too much. Probably the best fish and chips in Auckland.

Sadly not impressed at all. Told mela would take 10 mins when calling. An hour later still waiting. Forgot some of the order...no squid rings. That’s fine I’ll forget them. Get home....still half order missing. No good :(

The best value fish and chips in the area. Two terahiki and a portion of chips for less than a tenner. Lovely batter, tasty fish and chunky chips. All just 100m away from the beach. Brilliant.

Bought these yesterday this is the amount of chips you get for $4 what a rip and they weren't even nice, old overcooked. Rang and complained he said well thats what you get, in other words too bad.
Wouldn't go back.

Best fish and chip shop we've found (and we've tried our fair share ;) very friendly staff and not too pricey. Especially love their potato fritters and spring rolls, fish is always great too of course!

Have been going here for awhile so tested out the paua fritter.... IT WAS HORRIBLE!! Please for the love of god, check your food when you purchase it! This was not ' made in nz' obviously. Please chuck out any you have in stock! It was revolting, off, like rotten seaweed and gumboot. Was not paua and Ive had paua before. Please don't serve this every again. The rest of your food is lovely but this is far from it!

Have been going to the fisheries for years as they were always known to have great fish and at a good price. But last Friday we ordered Burgers and chip. The burgers were ok a liitle soggy but the chip were terrible, they were limp, rubbery and soft worst chips ever I could not eat them. Very disappointing

■ Very Cheap
■ Good portions
■ Quick service

■ Can be very greasy at times

$5 for fish and chips here are a real steal! My friends and I sometimes pop in here when we feel like having a chilled evening or when we're after a lazy lunch after a walk. The chips are soft, chunky and pairs so nicely with the sauce!! The food always arrives fast and they are always generous with quantity.

Great cheap eats fish and chips store. Owner friendly and they cook fast! Price has been consistent and I believe they haven't increase their price for few years now. Fish is only $2.50/piece. They also have kumara fries, which is abit of better alternative than normal fries ($3.50 for such large scoop). We quite like their spring rolls (only $2 for a huge one) too. The only thing is that, we always told them to hold sprinkling salt as it can get quite salty. Always call in advance so your food is ready for quick pick-up.
Terrible!! Ordered vegetarian burgers, which took 25mins to cook, but when we got home we found the burger consisted of egg & lettuce in a bun. Called the takeaway to complain but the manager rudely told me that if I didn't like it to throw them away! I had a bad feeling about this place, as we were leaving I saw the cook wipe his nose with his hand and carry on handling food - unacceptable.

The manager was so rude, and when I suggested that customer service was important he simply told me that he didnt care and slammed the phone down. I will go back here the next time I'm in browns bay so I can speak to this rude individual face to face.

AVOID eating in this horrible place, there are much better places near by.

One of the best fish and chips on the shore. This place is always busy. Crispy, fresh fish and chips. I normally order the kumara chips and cheeseburger and they never disappoint.

Browns Bay Fisheries is enroute to the beach so I find it is the most convenient when I'm feeling like a lazy Sunday dinner down at the beach. Their fish n chips are adequate. The magic happens when you add sauce. Good fish n chips usually don't need extra sauce. Therefore I'd rate these fish n chips a 3.5/5!
