Review Sahara India Restaurant - Cambridge

Is tried on a few occasions to eat here but it's been closed. Today i was lucky while my camper van was booked next door for a wof. My immediate reaction is the modern lovely new furniture and look. The lovely enthusiastic helpful waitress attended to my rather relaxed easy going demenior. Indian food can be very similar so it was rather nice to get a spinach cream chicken and garlic naan tasting refreshingly different. Rice was smack on. I like my teas so got an un suggared Massala tea. This was powdered and although ok lacked the depth of flavour a real massala infused tea has. Refreshingly different and i have no trouble recommending this.

Wow..so much to say! Its not often you find yourself searching for words that accurately describe such an amazing food experience like Sahara India. We ordered lamb masalla and butter chicken with rice, a mango lassi and garlic cheese naan. The restaurant had the friendliest staff and the food came quickly, everything was so fresh but let me tell you, that garlic naan bread was so unbelievably perfect, it left my wife and I utterly speechless and begging for more! It was cheesy and lathered with fresh garlic butter, It was love at first bite! We knew the risks but we did it anyway! We suddenly started dipping the naan into the butter chicken sauce...The flavour was so grand, so heavenly we nearly passed out from sheer flavour overload! It was unfortunately time leave but fear not; we never leave empty handed! We took a turkish delight to go 😘 Thank you for the beautiful experience!

Haven’t dined in yet but the takeaway from here is consistently amazing. We have never been let down and have tried a good portion of the menu now. All the curries are delicious but the onion bhaji are the star of the show.

Food was delicious. Staff were friendly. Only criticism was food was slow to come out and too salty but very tasty.

I get it why this place has 5 star reviews. Went in recently to try it out with family. Couldn't be happier. Truly excellent dining. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service excellent. The prices were extremely reasonable too. Would definitely recommend and will definitely go back again. It's a small place so limited seating so pays to book ahead.

Absolutely DELICIOUS! My husband and I loved our meal. The curry we ordered was fantastic and the plain naan was the best naan we’ve ever had. The plates were hot đŸ‘đŸ»The service was friendly and attentive too. Would definitely recommend.

There is a unique vibe about the place, with a mixture of cuisines to savour. We had Indian food for lunch, and came back for dinner as well. Place was sparsely crowded, and the staff were very friendly. We opted for Malai Kofta, Dal Makhani along with Garlic and Cheese Naan. We were served with mini pappadums in the interim while we waited initially for our food. The curries were at par and tasted delicious with the naan. In the evening, we tried Samosa, but it was quite oily and tasted differently. Also, the prices for same items of menu were different for lunch and dinner menu. Not sure if that is expected, but it was odd as it was up almost 40-50%. Overall quality and taste were quite good.
