Review Koi - Cambridge

Albert Jans
Koi is a modern Indian-Malaysian restaurant located in both New Plymouth Masterton and Cambridge, which offers authentic Indian and Malaysian inspired cuisine. They are committed to providing our guests with flavoursome cuisine, whether you dine-in for lunch or dinner in their contemporary restaurant, or prefer the convenience of takeaway. Koi are fully licensed with a wide range of options from craft beers, wine, whiskey and other spirits. At Koi you will always experience a warm welcome, friendly service and truly amazing Indian and Indian-Malaysian inspired meals.

We enjoyed our first visit so much that we went back 3 days later and "relished" in fine foods and great service again. We have chosen from the nibbles menu as it suits our eating style and gives us the opportunity to sample a wider variety of dishes on the menu. The young lady serving us was kind enough to give us a little history of the restaurant and we were pleased to hear that they are very busy.

Absolutely amazing dinner here tonight, service was A+, such a comfortable setting with attentive waiters. My partner and I went on a nice date and haven’t ever reviewed somewhere before but just have to as this was the most amazing date, food and service. Even the bathroom was upto a 5* standard! πŸ–€

One of the best fusion inspired restaurants. Blending Indian and Malaysian flavours you really can't go wrong and should you also enjoy a tipple the spirits especially my favourite gin, has an enviable list. We shared numerous small plates which gave us a real overview of the taste sensations. Everything was tasty with a mix of textures including puff pastry which went well with their dipping sauces, they should sell these to take home! I can also recommend the lentils and the beef randang. I will be back to try more. Easy parking and an easy walk from the Tivoli Cinema.

Really enjoyed our first visit to Koi. The food was superb - we had two entrees, two mains, a naan to share and a dessert to share which was more than enough food for two. Everyone was really lovely - there was a bit of a disconnect between staff as we had multiple people asking for our order after we had already ordered but better too much attention than not enough! We will absolutely be back soon to try more of the dishes

Had a wonderful meal at Koi. Great atmosphere Not packed and noisy yet full house that you can talk to the people you are having dinner with. Happy to go back as a regular and will

We had a good experience. Everyone loved their food. The portion was a bit less but it was yummy, esp chicken biryani. I would not recommend their Chicken momo (dumpling) though. The cocktails were average I'd say for the price. The ambience is very nice and staff who served us were very friendly and attentive.

So 5 of us rocked up for lunch today without checking if they were open. They weren't but invited us in as 2 in our group had just arrived from Brazil. The food and service was exceptional and we can't thank the staff enough for being so kind to accommodate us.

Great food but we did feel very rushed. We were constantly asked if we were ready to order.

Lovely to go here as part of a local event. We got to try lots of their selection. All tasted amazing. One of my favourites were the mushrooms; just wow.
