Really yummy food here and it’s so fun to see it get cooked right in front of you. The staff are really friendly, they wrote on the grill and gave me a bookmark as it was my birthday 😆 10/10 I love this place!

That's it no more search needed. Super friendly waitress. Took the menu for two, sushi perfect not to soft, fried chicken crunchy not to fatty, salmon was best I've had in Christchurch. Vegetables were succulent with touch of pepper, fish platter the shrimps were best I've ever tasted. Scallops with garlic stunning and just had steak pieces to die for. Don't even think about it get in here. Chris

Enjoyed a beautiful kai yesterday with my girls for my daughter's 18th. First time experiencing the Teppanyaki grill so weren't too sure what to expect or what to do. The staff were very welcoming and made the experience one not to forget. Tony even made an appearance to check on diners and ensure we were happy and went the extra mile to ensure my daughter was satisfied. The kai/food was also delish and was fun watching the chef do his thing so favourable and fresh. Thank you so much to everyone for your manaakitanga/care during our dining experience.

Had a family birthday dinner, the chefs were very professional, staff were friendly, but take a jacket the place was freezing, that was the only down side.

Easy to book and get front row seat for teppanyaki. Arrived to friendly waiting staff and very smiley, skillful Jimmy behind the teppanyaki hot plate. Lots of food being preparred a good 'fire soon' warning happening. All the food through the miso, sea food, various meats, vegetables and deserts were prepared well as ordered and delicious. Great variety in the menu from food and drinks. The Orion beer was very good and served beautifully cold. Service was great and toilets were very clean. Child friendly and they seemed to be enjoying.

Very generous portions of food all amazingly cooked! They also do all you can eat teppanyaki on weekdays for a very reasonable set price 😍.

Delicious food, great service with a smile! We went for an overdue date night and had the All You Can Eat, plus drinks and dessert. Photo is of the Trio dessert.

Tried last night for the first time, and found the food to be excellent -- fresh and very flavourful. The whitefish was exceptionally delicious! The chefs were quiet & concentrating on cooking, which was fine, it allowed my partner and I to chat instead, but could be disappointing if someone is coming & expecting a show. We came for delicious food and were not disappointed. Had the all-you-can-eat teppanyaki, and did not need to ask for more -- the standard dishes were very generous.

We had an amazing dining experience here. We had a set menu with every item cooked to perfection and of very high quality. The service was friendly, efficient, I will definitely be going back!

Food was quite good. I did love the way everything was cooked in front of you. The only downside I had was the sauce that they put on everything didn't taste good. Everyone else liked it, so it must have just been my taste buds. That, and it would be nice to have the option of a knife and fork as the steak I had did need to be cut smaller for me. Otherwise everything was good and everyone really enjoyed themselves!

Went for the all you can eat Sukiyaki and it was well worth the price. Brilliant atmosphere with live entertainment in the form of live Teppan Yaki cooking. Recomend going.

For over a year I worked by Tony's in Ferrymead.

In that time I never once experienced a bad meal! My usual go to is the Sashimi set and for $12 you receive an array of sashimi, rice and miso - all fresh, great flavours and well presented.

The staff are super kind and while you wait always pour you a glass of water and some days will even chat to you. I miss visiting already!

Always good food here. Seared tuna belly is always delicious and the prawns with mayo (Ebi Mayo) is always wonderful. Have had a mixture of good and averages services as one time they lost our booking, but they were still happy to take us.

Came here last night for my partner and I's anniversary. We booked ringside seats so we could watch the action and it was well worth it! The chefs are greatly talented and their skill really showed in the food. We were seated straight away by a bubbly waitress (I think she might have been new, either way she was very friendly and accommodating) and had our beers served within a few minutes of sitting. The waitress gave us appropriate time to mull over the delicious looking menu, there's nothing worse when you're dining out and having the wait staff come to take your order after a minute of giving the menus, or forgetting about you for half an hour when you're hungry. Thankfully she came after about five minutes and kindly offered to explain some of the dishes (we didn't need the help as my partner has travelled to Japan and knew the food). Very helpful. Once our order was taken a chef came out from the back kitchen and asked how we'd like our meat cooked, then proceeded to prepare our seafood and venison with trained precision and care that only comes from genuine skill and love for the food. Watching our dinner being made was a great novelty, and as a chef myself I can be somewhat hard to please so being able to see how our food was handled was a big bonus for me. The food itself was cooked to absolute perfection, amazing delicate flavours and again you could really see the love and care coming through. We have zero complaints about Tony's and will definitely be returning soon!
