Review Just Desserts - Christchurch

I left it until the last minute to order a desert for a special occasion. I phoned on Monday morning and they had it made by 1.30pm. I ordered a lemon meringue pie and it was delicious. Will definitely order again. Staff were friendly.

I am truly amazed at their decoration skills. This cake looks great and tasted even better. Special thanks for using real flowers as i asked for. I am definitely going to keep ordering from just desserts🤗

The black forest gateau is a family favorite. It's not super sweet, very moist Not dry. Perfect amount of cream. Good service as well. Will keep going back.

I'm not the biggest fan of sweets but I like this place, plus it makes my daughter really happy when I take her for some dessert.

Has to be one of the best value high teas in Christchurch. For $25 so much food we all needed a doggy bag. Pleasant service as well. Highly recommend

Just Desserts was a great venue to hold a business networking group meeting. There was plenty room in a small well lit side room which was warm and heated by gas heaters. There is a good variety of food on the menu and they provided a good and friendly service. With lots of off road parking it was easy to find a park as the streets are normally quite full during the day time. Do try them out as I think most people would like to see their dessert menu.

Order 2 birthday cakes for my daughter but everyones satisfied and keep compliment of how tastiest and great the cakes are.flavors are amazing. THANK YOU

This cafe is awesome on customer service! Not only did they take an order for a quarter shot latte in a large cup without question, they also brought a wee jug of hot milk to the table "in case it's still too strong". Often trying to get a quarter shot for an elderly family member is answered with an eye roll or it's like I'm asking in Swahili. Highly recommend after our experience.

Quite impressed nice decoration even a piece of cake. Great atmosphere and service. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a cake spot!

I attended a party over the weekend that had a lovely cake from you. 'Dreamy Caramel Mud Cake'. It was not only dreamy, but the best cake I have ever come by. I am almost compelled to ring the baker and thank them for their art and contributions to this earth. Everyone loved it and I am tempted to name my first born after the artist that made this wonder. 100/100 would recommend

I ordered a Black Forest Cake for my husbands birthday from Just Desserts. The cake not only looked beautiful, but also taste so delicious-very moist and decadent. It was also huge, we will be eating cake for days. We will 100% be back to try more of their desserts. xx

I ordered a Red Velvet Birthday cake for my daughters 35th . Melissa loves Red Velvet and couldn't believe her eyes when I walked into the room with it. . It's her favourite cake. The decorated cake was absolutely beautiful and was so delicious and comments were made by everyone. Whoever made the cake thank you so much. I recommend Just Desserts I will be back

Great gf options stored in a way to stop cross contamination so coeliac safe! Even marshmallows are gluten free. The food And coffee was nice too. Staff seemed knowledgeable.

Went to Just Desserts with my sister for a quick bite and coffee. I got a sausage roll and a banana berry smoothie. Both were delicious and well made. Service was prompt with minimal wait time for food.

Greatly under estimated hidden gem! (Though looking at reviews it seems it's the gluten free that wasn't that good). Their desserts are truly amazing. I would come here just to eat cake. Good selection of cabinet food and decent hot food too. Spacious indoor area with lots of parking! I would recommend ordering all your cakes from them for birthdays and events, good value for money!

We were quite a large group so initially I was quite impressed they took our names when we ordered. Unfortunately the dishes & drinks that arrived at the table often didn't match the names they were given - oh well.<br/>I ordered a beef and bacon burger which had to be deconstructed before it could be eaten. My mouth was not nearly big enough :-) The pattie was a solid beast, there was too much tomato for my liking, the bun was over-toasted (not brown but quite hard), but the bacon and the fries were nice. I would say I am a dessert person but none of the desserts in the cabinet took my fancy - a few of them weren't even labelled so we had no idea about what they were or how much they cost. The ones who did order desserts were very impressed and they are planning a return visit.

Sounds like the last person was having a bad day herself.<br/>I am also Gluten &amp; Lactose Free and attended Just Desserts for lunch today.<br/>After phoning them during the week to check the weekend menu, was cordially told that they would sort something out especially for me.<br/>On arriving I was delighted at what they had made up for me and thoroughly enjoyed it.<br/>The staff were extrememely friendly and I would love to go back and try more of their delicious food.

When I worked in the area, this was my regular place to go to at lunchtime or for a treat on the weekend. In contrast to the name, these guys don't make just desserts, they make amazing lunches, too. Everything is top notch! In addition to that, they serve the best coffee in Christchurch (in my opinion) and their desserts are too tasty for words. I have taken many friends there and they all loved it just as much as I did. Too bad that I had to move away!

As a coeliac, I was looking forward to giving Just Desserts a go.<br/><br/>When we arrived, the waitress seemed very fed up and was not at all welcoming, almost as if we were an inconvenience. <br/><br/>Just Desserts readily advertise their Gluten Free Wednesdays and while there were a number of gluten free sweet treats, there wasn't much choice in terms of lunch options. Seeing they had gluten free bread I asked if they could make me a sandwich similar to the one in the cabinet (which was not gluten free), I was promptly told no they couldn't because they didn't want to waste the chicken as they needed it in case someone ordered a salad with chicken in.<br/><br/>Wow, talk about going above and beyond to accommodate your patrons. Not. I was so disappointed at that, and ordered the only other somewhat appealing dish in the cabinet, a kumera rosti. Was rather bland and tasteless but luckily was gluten free.<br/><br/>I ordered a chocolate and raspberry brulee for dessert which was actually truly delicious. Perhaps they shouldn't state on their website they have a number of savoury dishes and soups for gluten free people, and just say they're only a dessert restaurant. I'd go there to get a cake, but would never try and eat a meal there again.<br/><br/>Sad thing for them - i was writing an article for an international gluten free magazine at the time and had planned on featuring them. Bad service and their unwillingness to accommodate a simple request quickly saw them removed from the article.
