Review Khmer Satay Noodle House - Christchurch

I was staying in CHC for just a few weeks and luckily discovered this place while traveling around by bus. I’ve tried almost every noodle soup they have on the menu starting with their chicken laksa which was divine! Everything I’ve tried on their menu was just amazing and I never left one drop of food in my bowl or plate! The people who work here also are very kind and always greeted me with a lovely smile. I highly recommend this place and once I return to CHC this will be the first place I go to.

We love going for an easy dinner option on weekdays. Value for money, great tasting and the place is clean.

We eat here every week on a Thursday. Good value for money, a selection of yummies. Fast to your table. Service 👍

Clear and easy to read menus. Food was cooked pretty quickly. Lot's of space inside. People were friendly. Only complaint is that when you order a dish with seafood and pay extra it comes with lots of imitation crab meat as opposed to prawns or something. If I'd known I would stick with chicken. Otherwise dishes were good.

Yum. First time being here and the food was delicious and satisfying. Large portions so come hungry or you won’t finish. Only note that there aren’t many vegetarian options. Will definitely be coming back.

Huge portion, reasonable priced. Finally a super spicy tomyum that can make me sweat 👍😋

Super clean, tidy and well organised place. Always busy with great food. Super tasty. Seating is always tidy. Great condiment set on each table. Easy parking out the back.

Great food at a great price, portions are good, the place is clean, is usually a small line at lunch hour but the space has plenty of seats. The staff is friendly. There are plenty of options to choose from: soups, main dishes, bowls, etc, not only noodles. It was a great find and I would gladly come back to eat here again.

This used to be one of my families old fav takeaways with good reason. The satay noodle house is absolutely renown for its beautiful satay, well that's what I've heard anyway due to my allergy to peanuts. However don't turn away from the Noodle House as they pleasantly catered to my allergies as I had chargrilled chicken and rice, which was meant to be served with satay but didn't bother me as it was still good chicken. The menu is average as it's meant for a quick stop takeaway place but what gets you as you enter the Satay Noodle House is the divine smell of Satay. The service is below average but who cares at a takeaway shop and the price is average.

Nice seafood combination noodle soup, and ginger and spring onion special stir fry dish. Friendly staff, good meal & location. Would visit again.

Would for sure never return, food was hideous, the noodles that we ordered contained more dry vegetables then the actual noodles, over priced for sure with absolutely no customer service.

This place contained my childhood memories, I think almost every student that went to school around Riccarton or Papanui would have visited this place. It's so many memories that everytime when I return to CHCH, Khmer noodle house will always be my first meal.

This place is authentic..Being someone who actually spent a lot of time travelling SE Asia, i can tell you that's what general Cambodian cuisine taste like. Like it or not, they're not like Thai or Chinese that would have right-in-your-face/colourful taste to it, but that's what's special about Cambodian meals. Just like their people, it's mild, non-offensive but at the same time get you hooked onto it. If you're looking for your fancy dining with knife and fork or Masterchef experience, this is not the place for you. In fact, Cambodia will not be a place for you to visit neither. It's all about the simpleness, the mildness . That simply stuck with you.

Oh did I also mention it's good value for money too..don't forget to ask for a bow of chicken bones (free) to go with your meal..

Really great food and drinks, a fairly quiet atmosphere and really warm and friendly staff. It's a great place to eat. The Chicken Satay Supreme is the best.

Absolutely amazing food, used to come here every Sunday lunchtime for hangover satay when I was younger and it's still just as good as it was then.

Satay sauce with their bread sticks is fantastic.

Excellent value for money as well, everything is really cheap.
