Review Sevantis Restaurant & Cafe - Christchurch

So happy to have dinner at Sevantis, we used grab one voucher for three course set dinner. A quite restaurant and awesome foods. Will back to try other dish. Professional and great service. They served the food with good timing, from entree to dessert. I recommended.

Surprisingly quiet but this unassuming little restaurant tucked away in Burnside serves delicious, perfectly cooked and well presented meals. Great value for money and good service. I highly recommend the steak and the southern fried chicken!

This is not a luxury place. But they have luxury food with reasonable price. You can get three-course dining with $45. If you need a good deal, try to find it in Internet. You can get it cheaper. I will back to try another menu.

Nice service, Eggs Benedict were really good, but I didn't really like the sweet balsamic reduction.

Excellent place. Arrived just about shutting time but they kept the chef on and cooked me something really special. Had a great meal and a bottle of decent bottle of white. I was the only one in the restaurant by then but the staff gave me as much pleasant conversation to make the meal memorable. Never felt rushed to finish. The best meal I had that week. A little Gem!

new people . new menu. from what I saw this place is great value for money. we had a shared dish of a full chicken salad and bread. the chicken was excellent . well cooked chrispy sauce freshly cooked and magic flavours. only $29 and while advertised for two or three people it would be big enough for four. I recommend you support this place. is also offering lunches at a very reasonable price.

This is my second time here for dinner. They recommended me the Special of today. We are very satisfied with that. The lamb was perfect tender. And the cheese cake was so so good as well. I like taking picture for "artistic work", haha. I will definitely come again. Hope u will surprise me next time :)

Had the pleasure of dining there last night. It was a shame it was lacking in atmosphere as the place was empty. We are lucky to have a restaurant of this quality in the suburbs. The food was delicious. We have been there a few times and have never been disappointed. Beautifully cooked and presented and reasonably priced. Hopefully more people will support this local restaurant.

We order the chicken shared meal take away. It was delicious and such good value for money two hungry adults and a toddler and lots of leftovers!!! Definitely recommend!

I loved my, Big Breakfast today at, Sevantis Restaurant, Kendall Av. Lovely curtious waitress, and attentive to my comfort. Water brought straight away, and order taken, without pressure. Menu looked great, and look forward to going back one evening.

great food!! great presentation. wasnt expecting that from the walking off the street /location. each course was flawless. we didn't try the wine this time but id expect alot after this. the lady was friendly and honest. didn't have a cheese selection this time but now I'm just nit picking.

Delicious yummy food with excellent vibe, super friendly staff.The next level of fine dining food served quicker than expected. Definitely go back there and would recommend twice. Thanks Linda

A very happy dinning experience， the wait staff was very friendly， the food was lovely， they have a nice courtyard out the back witch you can seat outside to enjoy the sunshine， love this place and highly recommend. we definitely will coming back.

Worst experience ever. Inflated prices and small quantity and unpleasant staff. Won't be going back. Recommend to avoid this place. A lot better restaurants around than this place.

There wasn't many options on the menu so I went with the risotto which was a very bright green colour and I felt like I was eating baby food. The decor seemed cheap but the service was decent.

Cannot recommend this place. There prices are insane, and the portions are crazy small. Add that with some poor service waitress who spent most of the time in the kitchen screeching in Chinese, and its a recipe for disaster.  Its not many times i have left a restaurant feeling hungry..  but i am glad there was a fish and chip shop around the corner so the $3 scoop of chips could fill me up after spending $112 on a meal only fit for under 5's.

I don't usually bother to leave reviews, however, I felt it necessary as this restaurant seems underrated. I have been twice with my girlfriend. The firs time was excellent, the second time good. Service was above average, it had a nice atmosphere, and the food tasted great. We did use grabone vouchers, as otherwise, the meals would be too expensive for us. I should point out that last time we visited we both signed up as members (which was free to do so) which entitles us to half price breakfast and buy one get one free main meals. Overall, we would both go back at these discounted prices, but not at the full prices.

Really boring place. The decor was very interesting to say the least. Service was so boring and lack Lustre. The food was lack Lustre too.

We bought a voucher from GrabOne but even with that this experience was not value for money. It was for the High Tea which I was told could be made Gluten Free with a surcharge. Whilst what we had was gluten free it was missing things. The waitress also didn't have good English so I wasn't even feeling confident about what we were eating. I didn't want to pay the surcharge when it was obvious we had received less food because of getting the GF option and when I informed the manager she started shouting at me and proceeded to follow me out of the restaurant hurling abuse at me all for $6!! Won't be going back there ever again.

Went there on a grab one voucher thank goddness as it is rather pricey. But lovely meals I had the scallops and beef fillet. Fillet slightly over cooked as I asked for rear. I would recomend that the staff should be in uniforms as one girl there just had casual clothing on. Would have been nice to be offered a drink or something after the meal. Just seemed they were in a hurry to get us out. My friend had the T Bone and and there were some extras on the meal that werent on the menu and clearly explained. Meals came out fast.

Never going back there again. Too expensive and food doesn't taste that nice and the portion is tiny compared to the prices. I don't recommend this place to anybody or any of friends or family.

We have been to Sevantis twice in two weeks. On our first visit the restaurant was very busy - mid-week - but the staff were friendly, professional and prompt! Our meals were delicious and well presented. Our second visit didn't disappoint! <br/><br/>Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone I know

Beyond appalled!!! Just back from the worst dining experience of our lives. Arrived and presented deal vouchers to the waitress at the counter. She said that's fine so we went ahead and ordered a bottle of wine and our mains. The waitress serving the wine slopped some on the table and failed to return to clean up her mess. Next the waitress who took our order (the only member of staff on duty with a polite competent manner) assured one of the diners it was no problem to order some mushroom sauce on the side to go with the steak. When the meals arrived however, he was told by a different waitress the sauce would cost $5.50 extra due to him having combined 2 dished. He politely declined. Incidentally the sauce was served in a huge salad bowl and was a strange shade of pink - it hardly looked appetising! The other mains were passable unlike the rest of our service, but small and over-priced. As former customers we were shocked at just how much the service has declined recently. As we had vouchers we thought we'd treat ourselves to desserts. Again, disappointingly small, very mediocre in taste and ludicrously overpriced. $16 for a slither of cake!!!<br/>Throughout our meal the service was substandard. For a restaurant that charges $35 plus for mains we were shocked that the waitresses (one of whom was acting manager (were wearing shabby baggy trackies and ugg boots and lacked the very most basic of waitressing skills.<br/>When we went to pay for the bill we were bluntly informed that the vouchers were not valid after all. It is true we hadn't seen -the fine print- week nights only, however, as we had already informed the waitress on our arrival we were planning to use said vouchers we thought they would be and should be honoured. When we questioned the manager her response was unhelpful, rude and insulting! The temporary manager refused to accept any wrong doing by her staff and scolded us like school children. Not good enough.

We thought its around the corner lets give it a try.<br/>Should of gone to KFC.<br/>Got in there and it was so hot in there started to sweat as soon as you walk in, myself and another customer had to ask them to turn there air con on.<br/>The other costumer was about to leave because of the heat.<br/>We had to ask for knives and forks, and then again ask for napkins.<br/>We got the crispy chicken and my daughter Nachos.<br/>Chicken was very dry and really just looked bad.<br/>My daughter's nachos was just a heap of nacho chips and a small salad and about a table spoon of beans. <br/>Salads on both dishes were just a soggy mess of oil, even the apple juice was not nice.<br/>It was like watered down raro.<br/>I think this place is not worth the money. This is the first time I have ever written any review but felt so let down I had to let people know.<br/>$64 we were really ripped off. Will not be going back.

We had a very nice meal here tonight, even though the restaurant was busy but the service and food are prompt. staffs are friendly, food is SUPERB！we will definitely come back. well done！！

Service was fine but from then on things went a bit downhill. Our entrees were Scallops and the other was corn chips, dip etc. Scallops were cold ,tasteless and very spongy the taste was of everything else on the plate but the main ingredience, scallops. Was told there was six scallops in a serv and ended up with five because the waitress said they were bigger than normal.I guess if you order corn chips you deserve what you get. Now the mains. The fish of the day was Gurnard. This was delicious, cooked just right and spot on. The other main was Ribeye. The ribeye was a good size but cold and the only taste was of all the other stuff on the plate not steak. I would not reccomend or dine again at this restaurant.

Portions were tiny, prices were high for the amount of food served and my son's chicken skewers were coated with pepper. Not exactly suitable for something from the kids menu. Never going back again and definitely recommending my friends and family to stay away.

We were a large group and had a wonderful night. The food was very tasty and well presented. Our waitress was extremely friendly. The decor was warm and inviting. This was our first visit but definitely not our last. Well worth a visit - an added bonus is the parking available just outside the restaurant door.

We dined here a few nights ago for a birthday dinner, won't be going back. We were seated in the middle of the room between two large groups.<br/>Our starter of breads and dips was very good. My main course was also very nice and of a good size. My partners meal looked the part, however fell very short with the quality of the lamb (full of gristle), hence why she sent it back after eating a minimal amount. We were informed by the waitress that there had been another complaint that night and that they were removing it from the menu for the remainder of the night and we were offered a dessert at no charge. <br/>Upon paying they had given us the dessert for free, however expected us to pay for the uneaten meal that was sent back to the kitchen. Thanks for this birthday experience.<br/>Also the staff need to be aware that they could be easily seen talking about us as we left, or possibly were and didn't care.
