Wow, what a great experience.
Service 7 out of 5, Joel was warm and wonderful. Hard to find staff that act and care as if they own the place.
Nice wine list and cold beers. Peroni on tap big plus.
Food was so tasty, great serves. I had the beef cheeks, so tasty and yummy.
My wife had steak and avocado instead of chips, they were happy to make a change, so refreshing.
I read earlier comments on the smoking, never saw a problem. A shame people will not come back because of this. I am not a smoker but believe they were doing everything lawful. Let’s try and provide positive advice to the owners before we publish.
Recommend this place all day and night, Bon appetit.

Went for a birthday dinner. They were very accommodating when we brought cake with us. Dinner was pretty good. Steak was done just right although the salad that came with it did not have any dressing. All in all it was a pleasant night out :)

Had some beers during happy hour, so about a $1 off of prices ish. Didn't have food but it was a nice place near the beach. Service was good. Some of the beer/ciders on the tap list were actually bottled.

Decent brunch by the water. Dog friendly as many people had their pooches with them at the outside tables. Service OK, nothing to rave about.

One of the best cafe i have seen in chrischurch. Staff and owner really friendly. I love the way they talk and serve their customer. I came to nz as tourist from Melbourne.
I tried fish and chips over there. It was awesome i dont have even words what to say but highly recommend. ❤️❤️❤️

It's not very often hubby and I go out for breakfast and Blackbird Cafe did not fail us, Lovely cafe hubby and I had the smashed avo and eggs Benedict
The bread used for the smashed avo was next level delish, absolutely nothing failed us
Mochas were the best we have had in so long we had to order another

Beautiful afternoon, sitting in the sun. Usually eat at the place opposite so thought we'd give this place a try. Lovely friendly service by 2 new girls 1 on her first day. Got water immediately while we perused the menu and drinks list. Fairly standard menu and enjoyed my loaded wedges. Reasonable priced lunch for 2 and would come again. Around $60 for 2 meals, 2 wines and a beer

Talk about a palaver to get what you actually order! They have stuff with insanely similar names and then screw it up twice! Really. Once we got what we ordered the food was ok. Might be time for them to look at the menu

To be honest I am not really too impressed with service. A quiet afternoon today there were on maybe 1 other lot of customers in the cafe and it took near 40 minutes for x2 smoked salmon and hot chips and 3 drinks to come out. The hot chips were soggy and excessivly greasy , some of the salad with the salmon was brown around the edges and the drinks were almost cold and the soy drink I very clearly asked for was not made with soy milk and I did not realise until it was too late and therefore got sick.. huge disappointment especially as it has previously had such a good reputation
