Review The Vessel - Cooks Beach

One of, if not the, best things about summer at Cook's Beach. Massive food selection, and a pretty good selection of beers and gins, with a smattering of local brews on tap. Obviously it can get quite busy over the silly season, but the staff manage very well considering. When it's really pumping, you can expect food to take a wee while longer, but the quality makes it more than worth it. The snacks are fantastic and the mains even better. Split billing is not available, but tables can open multiple tabs under different names to make paying up a little easier. I would love to see the return of a wider range of the local breweries' beers - Hot Water Brewing is just down the road, and Blue Fridge is nearby as well. All in all, you'd be a fool to pass the Vessel by. Support local!

Wonderful meal this evening. Lamb curry delicious $25 including a glass of house wine. Bill had Fish&chips also delicious and very generous servings. Lovely Aix en Provence Rose

First time here for lunch and impression over all was very good. The setup is well done, plenty of tables and shade. Great selection of wine and beer with some excellent craft beer on tap. Meals are also very nice with good selections using local seafood and produce. Service is great and tye staff friendly, well worth a visit.

Had a beautiful plate of ribs, the Tuna tataki was exceptional, lovely pizza style cheesey garlic bread and a couple of cold Coronas. What's not to love?! Great Coro/bach-y vibe, definitely go again.

Very nice suprise. It seems like a pub at first (sports on tv and a bit noisy), but the food is actually very good. We took the salmon and the steak, it was delicious. Would recommend for a drink but also if you want a good meal at decent price (around 35 nzd for a main course).

Steak was perfectly cooked, great vibe with boys at smoko time on a Friday. Cheesecake of the day was epic!! Definitely recommend 👌🤙

Support local - easy ferry and Short bike from Whitianga. Nice way to spend a couple hours. Shared the Captain Calzone Pizza, tasted nice enough but we both left underwhelmed and a little hungry. Will definitely go back and try some other Pizzas. Staff were pleasant, place was clean and tidy. Would suggest having chilled water for customers as table water, rather than the luke warm water provided.
