Review Tarras Country Coffee Shop - Cromwell

Stopped at Tarras Country Cafe and loved it. It’s a cozy and beautifully decorated place with friendly staff. The all-day breakfast was delicious, and both the coffee and hot chocolate were great. Perfect for a pit stop, with the convenience of public toilets and fuel pumps right next door. Highly recommend for a quick, satisfying break!

Lovely little hideaway, suitable for a quick lunch or stay longer to relax. Yummy food. Some meals are smaller but that just leaves room for the homemade treats. Was going to have lunch at Cromwell but this worked really well. Also it has kids activities and df/gf options. Shops next door are good souvenir shops too but are a bit pricey.

Very cute cafe with lots of food and dessert options. I came for the carrot cake (raved by other reviewers) and I was not disappointed. It was moist, filled with nuts and fruits, and icing was perfect. Staff was very friendly too. Love the teapot warmers. My only suggestion is that it would have been lovely to drink some better quality tea to go along with that yummy cake! :) doesn’t have to be fancy tea, just better quality than Lipton.

A small cosy cafe connected to the Merino wool shop. The vibes were amazing and the staff were super nice and friendly. We only bought a single cup of coffee for the road so can't really elaborate on the food.

Good place in small town. There's store next door you can browse while your order is getting ready. Also lot of options for breakfast

Arrived just after 8am, sign said closed but the lights were on, phew, we had just ridden from Omarama. Very friendly owner, and has the best big breakfast, homemade sausages, hash browns and chutney. Coffee was great too. Top it off got a merino/possum beanie from the adjoining shop.

I lived in New Zealand for two years to travel the whole island and ate many carrot cakes, but this one was the best. I visited this café almost three years ago, but I recently found a photo of it and couldn't resist reviewing it.
