Review Sanga's Pies - Cromwell

Very tasty pies, we had the pork belly (underbelly) and smoked pork (butt a boom) pies, both were great! There’s a small standing or sitting area at the back of the kiosk or you can enjoy your pie at one of the picnic area by lake just short drive away.

Amazing pie. Wanted a quick bite as I was on my way to Bannockburn and the pie didn't disappoint. Shop was only left with steak & cheese or cranberry & chicken and I took the latter. Amazing chunky bits of chicken and the pastry was tasty There were more filling than pastry and the creamy sauce paired perfectly with the pastry. More importantly the pastry was still toasty and had a crisp to it

Great tasty pies. The chunky beef and smoked cheese was absolutely divine. Definitely deserve their reputation. Can be a bit hard to find, but so worth the drive and search. Staff are so nice and friendly and really know their pies.

Delicious pies, was recommended by a local and so happy we made the trip from Queenstown to Cromwell to feast on these pies. Generous with fillings, flakey golden pastry well worth the visit.

Best Pies Ever!!! Wonderfully friendly, polite staff. Devine treat for dinner lunch and/or breakfast. Super full of carefully sourced ingredients that match perfectly!! A definite "must go" if you are anywhere in New Zealand !!! Make Sanga's a destination, it's a fantastic journey going through the menu!!

Delicious pies! Plenty of meaty filling, we really enjoyed them. I chose the daily special Lamb with Chimichurri.

Tried Sanga’s for the first time today and it did not disappoint! We went on Friday pie day so we tried the cheeseburger pie and it was outstanding. Others in the group had the Underbelly and Holy Smoke and we all reckon they were the best pies we’ve ever had. We took them down the road to eat by the water. Pastry and fillings were super flavourful.

Best pies I’ve had so far in NZ. Very big and brimming with filling. One is a meal for sure but you’ll want to have a second. Strong base crust with flaky top. Super fresh. But the filling is the star. The Underbelly, Chinese spiced pork belly, was top tier. Just perfectly infused spice in the tender meat. And the smothering of gravy makes this pie feel like a hug from a long lost friend. Took one for the road and excited to try it when I’m no longer stuffed. I’m on a bit of a pie tour of the South Island and this is the best pie so far (10+ tried) Friendly staff and a cute space also stood out. Fun little hang out area in the back which is very comfortable and a good spot to hang with a coffee and pie for a bit. Breakfast one was a bit boarding just cause the others are so unique but it was well made and a nice easy one handed breakfast if you’re in the mood.

The reviews speak for themselves. Best pie I've had in New Zealand. Generous fillings, good flavours. The coffee was great too. Didn't try it, but they had sandwiches too, which looked good. Only challenge is reversing out of the 3 parking spots down the driveway.

I had their pork belly burger. For a moment I felt like I saw the face of God and He was smiling down upon me. I knew true warmth, peace, and serenity. Also the pastry was that perfect kind of flaky.
