Our new favourite place to eat when passing through Dannevirke! Best mushrooms ever! Huge portions, friendly staff and great coffee too. The cabinet food is homemade and looks amazing. We’ll done team :-)

Dropped into this local on the way to Hastings for breakfast. So many choices, and I'll be dropping back in the next time I am around. The theme is cool with the decor. Friendly staff, fast service and great country music Playlist!

Fantastic breakfast here and it past the ultimate great for me... The Eggs Benedict on croissants was tasty and a massive serving. Well worth stopping in and treating yourself to a breakfast and coffee.

Prompt service, food was of good choice and well presented, pleasant staff, great playlist over sound system. Over all, lovely restaurant and certainly be back. Indoor and outside seating.

Due to the usual cafe that we normally stop at not opening till 10am ( weird??) We gave this a go... Coffee (mojo) excellent, cheese scone:perfection even crunchy cheesey outer. Cous cous salad yum! Our new go-to while passing thru 👍

The food was really nice. Hubby's steak sandwhix was cooked perfectly. I had eggs Benny which was nice the hollandaise delicious. Topped it with a red velvet cupcake which was really lovely.

Absolutely loved the food; rich satisfying flavours. Gorgeous art on the walls and fun deco. Clean toilet as well as seating indoors and out. But someone give these hard working ladies a raise, they could use a few extra smiles in their lives .

Cute little vibey shop in danniverke. Was open early which is great for those people looking for a coffee and snack stop with a higher claibre than bp. Definitely recommend. Top tip it is easy to miss as it has a very small entrance but once your in, it's much large. nice indoor and outdoor seating. Photo is of outdoor, sadly didn't get a pic of the interior. Their muffins were okay, not the nicest but also not the yuckest. Great addition for danniverke

Lovely spot with a comfortable outdoor eating space. I ordered the seafood salad and it was delicious covered in their own spices and I heard the scrambled eggs were cooked very well too. Thanks for the yummy food.

Absolutely amazing, Eggs Benedict. My girlfriend and I were VERY impressed with them, The Forge is a great Café.

A beautiful breakfast, especially for the price. Coffee is decent, and seating aplenty in and outdoors.

Absolutely fantastic. Stopped in here this morning for breakfast and we were very pleasantly surprised. Had the Hunters Breakfast (loved the black pudding and poached eggs). It was a very generous meal, served promptly, with great coffee and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely pop in again.

Excellent food and coffee, service was quick and delightful even though they were busy. Would happily eat here again. Poached eggs, bacon on ciabatta with fresh wrapped butter - delicious. Hubby and I had the same.

We visited this cosy cafe twice in my old home town, when travelling south & on the return journey. We found the staff to be very welcoming & friendly, supplying delicious food & strong, coffee with a great flavour. May suggest an extra large coffee bowl could be added. However Dannevirke is lucky to have this business, offering such high quality food & service. A must stop if passing through, Steve Franklin Rotorua

Excellent service, food and atmosphere! Polite friendly staff. Couldn't eat all my pancake, bacon, banana and maple syrup meal....three huge pancakes! But it was delicious! My friend couldn't eat all her scrambled eggs on rye with bacon....lovely!! Definitely recommend!!

Thank you so much for a fabulous meal. Have just spent 3 months in Europe eating really well and that was THE best chicken and bacon salad I have had for many a long time. The rustic chips were devine and I will be back next time I am in Dannervirke.

Me and my son had a amazing late lunch at the forge my chicken salad was delicious and my son enjoyed his scrambled eggs we definitely will be visiting again �

Eggs benny was really good an a different way of doing them really enjoyed them
