Review Corelli's - Devonport

Gabriella
Came for dessert and coffee with my sister. I personally found the desserts to be too rich and so I unfortunately could not finish them. We also ordered two hazelnut hot chocolate’s but could only taste hazelnut in one of them. The service however was good and the staff are lovely - especially after we accidentally walked out the bill and had to scurry back quite ashamedly to pay. I will definitely return and perhaps try a different dessert or something savoury.

Our iced coffee and smoothie came out amazing. A perfect place to rest our legs after a long walk around the port. Customer service was impeccable; the staff was so lovely and generous. We had a pleasant visit to the cafe in Devonport. Absolutely worth the visit!

Again I had the pleasure of enjoying the food & atmosphere in this wee gem of a cafe today. I have been coming here for several years now & even though I have the same meal every time (Eggs Benedict with Salmon & Mash) with either a Shandy or an Iced Chocolate, they have always been delightful & the meals so yummy. The young lady who serves me & who has been there for some time now, has consistently proven her worth with her friendly & efficient manner. Sitting in the outside courtyard under the umbrella by the plants & flowers listening to the birds chirping away is a treat & a way to enjoy a wee piece of quiet time that I always treasure. Thank You ..

Friendly and efficient staff. Chicken was dry. Noodles instead of zucchini would've been tastier. The sauce that came with the dish was nice. The salsa tasted as if it was from a jar. The beans tasted like it was from a can. The chips were warm and crispy. The aioli was a bit cheap tasting. However despite these shortcomings it was a welcoming café with a variety of menu and drink options.

Staff are super friendly. This is the cafe me and my husband go to the most. Their eggs benedict is amazing and never fails to satisfy us. It's quite a drive from our home but worth it. Parking can be tricky, especially on busy days

Poke bowl for lunch! Everything I wanted and beautifully presented. Followed by a slow mosey down the wharf.

A total fave. I live in Papakura but when friends visit I travel all the way up to Devonport to have this awesome cafe experience. Fave big breakfast in Auckland. Really friendly staff and it reminds me of the beautiful ‘local’ cafe I love at home. If I lived close by, Corelli’s would be a regular. Thank you, team!

Went here for the first time today, great coffee and staff, I had the creamy mushrooms and bacon, best I have had in years, my friend had there big breakfast which was massive and look delicious. And apparently was also extremely good. definitely worth the drive from the city. easy parking and relaxed friendly atmosphere. definitely will be back.

A very nice family business. Food & service was great. I particularly enjoy the good quality water & the eggs. Thanks! Charles, CJ's Junk Removal Service, Devonport, Auckland.

Dropped in for lunch yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed. Snapper and chips was perfect and the ginger cake delicious. Wonderful friendly service, thank you team Corelli 😊

An old favorite, cozy place. Perfect for those slow evenings. Love their kumara fries and poke bowls. I go there quite often. The only thing - the staff can be difficult sometimes and not polite.

You might find yourself having to come back later, as it's usually packed - with good reason. Service is friendly, orders come quickly and food is generally quite good. Daily specials are also great. The carrot cake is legendary.

This used to be one of my favorite places of all times.. I've been coming here regularly for 7 years and brought so many friends and dates. What attracted me to this place is their casual environment, it's easy to come here alone and enjoy a meal or just a drink and read a book or great for coming in with others. The food and the coffees and the cakes have always been amazing. But... after coming here for years the service often lacks in service.. some days the service is really bad and I get really sad and disappointed.. also they stopped giving jaffas with your coffee and no longer have nice soap Ashleigh and Co in the bathrooms which used to be a very nice touch. Some days I asked to swap a few things for something else in my meal and it was no problems, other times I was bluntly refused and told not possible by some new staff. I've been coming in for years and think that deserve a better service than that. I think over the years the service became much worse. Sometimes you sit down and no one comes to you in ages. I think you guys really need to work on that. Haven't been here for a while now as decided to try new cafes now with better service for returning customers...

eggs benedict wasn’t very good and was very overpriced for what it is. my friends fried egg had some raw egg white in it which was so gross. our coffee took ages to come, by the time it arrived we had almost finished our breakfast and my friends chai latte tasted disgusting, she added an espresso shot in it and you could tell the portafiller wasn’t cleaned out as it was so bitter :( i have had good experiences here before but this time really disappointed me
Zein
Love the friendly service and the cafe atmosphere, will definitely come back some other times

Home of the famous carrot cake, this place is a go-to for anyone who loves quality Kai. I absolutely love this sweet cafe. From their vintage furniture, to their homely warmth and smiles from staff, this place always leaves you with a smile. My personal favourite is their carrot cake, of course. I used to have a generous slice (always guaranteed) with a side of kumara chips!! Really hoping they put the chips back on the menu soon!

THE bestest all-day eatery. <br/>That’s the end of story.<br/>Zomato wishes me to write more than 140 characters so this is me just mumbling away about how amazing this place is and that I don’t want anyone to know it but at the same time everyone to know it
Andrea
We went here yesterday on Queens birthday. The coffees came out fast and were good. The food however took about 45 minutes, I understand that they were busy though. I ordered the poke bowl. It was very underwhelming, quite bland and not much salmon. It wasn't worth the almost $20. My partner ordered the hotcakes which he was happy with. Probably wouldn't return for food but definitely will for coffee.

One of the best meals I’ve had in Auckland! <br/><br/>I ordered the Chicken Burger for lunch. Chicken was well-seasoned, veggies were so fresh it seemed like they were picked seconds ago from a backyard garden, and serving size was quite filling. <br/><br/>Ambiance was also very relaxing and quaint. Worth the price and the travel!
Jesse Greenslade
Lovely service and friendly team. I ordered the hot cakes, they were amazing. Ordered a side of bacon but the cost was absolutely ridiculous $6.50’is incredibly over priced. As a local I will be back but a price review or adding it to the actual item itself should be considered.

Absolutely love this place the most cozy and quirky place and you can have such a tasty meal and feel great about yourself doing it! All wholes food based, healthy fats (avocado and salmon) protein (salmon) and carbs (rice quinoa) lots of veggies for the vitamins and minerals! 5/5 all around here!
Sudeshna
One of my favourite cafes. Their dessert section is my favourite and have tried most of their cabinet desserts. They have quite a few delicious gluten free dessert options as well.<br/>Portions are generous and service is quick and excellent. Definitely a must visit cafe while in Devonport.

Good food, friendly staff and great location. Prices good for Devonport. It is a very cosy place. Great for brunch or lunch with family or friends!

Came here for Sunday brunch after hearing many good things about Corelli's! <br/><br/>We sat outside to enjoy the weather. <br/><br/>I ordered Salmon Fillet and their signature Carrot Cake; and my friend got the Bang Bang Chicken Salad and Ice Cream Affagato. Food took awhile to arrive but is forgiven since they were really busy! <br/><br/>Carrot Cake and Affogato came out first while we waited for the food. <br/><br/>- Carrot Cake (10/10). This is one of their signature desserts and I absolutely understand why now! A giant slice of moist goodness packed with chunky nuts and dried fruits, lined with a beautiful layer of cream cheese in the middle and top! I could honestly eat this all day! I asked to have mine with greek yoghurt for even better textures and taste! <br/><br/>- Affogato (9/10). Cold, creamy, coffee. This was everything you can ask for in a affogato! Nothing to fault except that it might have been better to enjoy after the meal instead of before. <br/><br/>- Salmon Fillet (8/10). Corelli's is definitely the eatery to visit if you're into generous hearty portions! I had a decently-sized salmon that was cooked well; albeit a tad overcooked to my preference. It also lacks a bit of seasoning but you can help yourself to the salt and pepper on the table. Under this juicy salmon was a creamy smooth potato mash, which was delicious! The side salad was well-dressed and seasoned but I would have liked to see a larger portion. <br/><br/>- Bang Bang Chicken Salad (9/10). Health-lovers rejoice! You can enjoy noodles without the carbs with the zoodles! I had a taste of this and wow! The bang bang dressing sauce is the superstar here, full of flavour with everything salty, sweet, sour and a hint of spice! Pour it over your chicken and salad and enjoy! Chicken was a little overcooked, but the crunchiness from the salad made the texture a lot more enjoyable. <br/><br/>The only downside is that there are a lot of "buzzy" visitors if you sit outside near their garden - those scared of bees and bugs, I would recommend sitting indoors. Also, the pavement is not flat so some tables are at a uncomfortable height. <br/><br/>Service is really friendly and accommodating. For good quality AND quantity food at good prices, Corelli's is the place to be! <br/><br/>Food: 9/10<br/><br/>Price: 8/10<br/><br/>Service: 10/10<br/><br/>Ambience: 8/10

love the place but have one niggle. ordered Mt. Difficulty Pinot Gris from the wine list but receive Roaring Meg Pinot Gris which is also made by Mt. Difficulty. Should show the Roaring Meg also on the Wine list so customers have choice. Or call the wine Roaring Meg if the Mt. Difficulty Pinot Gris is not sold.

Very disappointed in the soggy veggie pizza. It was almost as though they punished us for asking for extra cheese. Not what I expected given the great reviews of this place. However ate it all up coz were too hungry to send it back.<br/>The coffee and hot chocolate were both redeeming factors. Totally recommend!<br/>Got a peek into the kitchen when we paid the bill - what little I did see made me a bit scared about the cleanliness but might be it was in disarray as they were closing down for the night.<br/>Will I go back? Maybe for the coffee.

Corellis is probably my fave place in Devonport these days! So unpretentious and cosy whilst still providing a brilliant menu and awesome food! it’s so chill here and comfortable and the staff are all very helpful and friendly!
Denise
Stopped by with some friends for breakfast the other day. We all enjoyed our meals and they were all good portion sizes. Friendly service and good food - we'll be back.
Yuki
I wanted to try famous carrot cake.<br/>It was very nice and huge.I think that was the biggest piece I ever had!! It was my lunch!!Not for a dessert😁
Madee Forbes
Friendly and quaint little cafe usually busy with all kinds of comings and goings. The coffee is a very solid 9/10 and the food is also good aswell! My partner honestly hassles me everyday to get him the ‘creamy mushrooms on toast’.
Bobby Anderson
Yummy and fresh tasting poke bowl. Dished up beautifully and packed with flavour. The other half had a heavier nacho which came loaded with toppings. Loved the milky chai tea served from a tea pot and thick smoothies
Zhen Zeng
The service is very good, friendly. The food is delicious and the portions is large as well. Definitely will go there again and it’s a good place to try kiwi food although we are Chinese we love it

LOVE LOVE LOVE Corelli’s!<br/><br/>I’ve been to Corelli’s a number of times over the past few years and they never fail to deliver. The menu is extensive and the meals are generously sized. Their cabinet food is phenomenal, and the sweet treats are akin to home baking. The service has always been prompt and friendly. Highly recommend.

Such a cute cafe in Devonport New Zealand !! Saw this cafe when i was wandering mount victoria reserve with my friend. Such a lovely location and so beautifully organised seating arrangements. <br/>Had smoothies and thickshakes. Was too good. <br/>Tried mango smoothie. <br/>Must try.

Had an awesome time at Corelli's with family. The food, wine & service was great and we found the prices extremely reasonable. If you want to have a fun dining adventure - catch the ferry over to Devonport, you wont be disappointed. 😊

I loved everything about this cafe! Cosy atmosphere, nice staff and the cutes plates/mugs. Their salmon poke bowl was amazing and the dirty chai tasted really good as well.

Lovely, quirky cafe in Devonport - I met up with a few friends for coffee, cakes and curly fries to share. <br/><br/>Upon arrival, we sat down at a dirty table, but the staff were apologetic and quickly cleaned it up for us. Initially, we weren’t seen at all, but understandably enough the cafe was quite busy. After I grabbed my table menus, a very friendly waiter came over, grabbed us water and took our order. Everything came out very quickly despite them being busy and was well presented.<br/>My almond latte was great - hot and not too bitter. Had some of my friends sticky date pudding and brownie - both were very delicious and soft. Curly fries were really good - nice and crunchy. While initially was hesitant to get because it was a bit expensive ($10.50), the portion size was perfect for the four of us to share.<br/><br/>Overall, the service was friendly and great. The two different waiters who brought us our drinks/food and took our order were both very friendly. However, there was one man at the counter when I went to pay who was quite rude and impatient. He did not greet me with a hello or ask me how was everything. He asked me what I was paying for and I responded “I was just sitting over there and I had-“ and before I could finish he rudely interrupted and said “I know where you came from just tell me what you had so I can charge you.” <br/>I understand being in a rush and stressed out but it should not excuse the rudeness. <br/><br/>Despite this minor rudeness, the overall experience was great! Yummy food, great coffee and an awesome atmosphere.

Food: 3.5<br/>Service: 2.5<br/>Atmosphere: 3.5<br/><br/>The waiters/ waitresses were really welcoming and friendly so initially the service began on a high note. The atmosphere itself is quite cozy and small with sufficient lighting. <br/>My partner and I ordered the bang bang chicken and the poke bowl which were on the larger servings compared to other restaurants 😁. <br/><br/>Both tastes alright, however the chicken (bang bang chicken) and the salmon (poke bowl) were quite dry. Personally, I enjoyed the bang bang chicken more as it was better seasoned. <br/><br/>The big downside however was not the waiting staff but the manager/ owner. We couldn’t help but frequently notice the staff being told off in a strict manner, including the waitress who took our order. <br/><br/>Overall the cafe is quite pleasant when considering the price and location, so will be coming back sometime soon <br/>

Always great, but can tell things have changed behind the scenes as the staff seem always on edge. Must be the new management/owners. Still a nice cafe to take people that are new to it
Anne
One of my favourite cafe in devonport.<br/>However not as good as it used to be. Food was average but the service was very poor. Looks like i won’t be going back.
Emily
Loved my visit to Corelli's! <br/>I got the hotcakes which were absolutely amazing with a perfectly made cappuccino to go with it. Service was great and staff were friendly. Will be coming more regularly for sure!

Absolutely love this place! The food is wonderful! Fresh, tasty and nutritious! When we were there they were busy, the serving time is still more than acceptable! Very friendly staff. Dessert is delicious! Love the mix and match tables and chairs! Oh, good coffee too!

Came here for Sunday breakfast. Coffee was unfortunately cold. Spanish Omelette was nice and salmon and poached eggs was ok. Lots of flies bothered us while eating. Otherwise service was good.
Yasminbayan
Service was so lovely and attentive. Coffee is incredible (even using almond milk it’s frothy) and cabinet sweet treats are healthy and delicious
Lucy
Good coffee<br/>Good food<br/>Good vibes<br/>Will continue to be one of my faves forever. There’s a no pressure atmosphere and it’s just so chill. The chilli hot chocolates are to die for and so is a late night sticky date pudding

◻Home made cakes and slices<br/>◻ Consistent great coffee<br/>◻ Perfectly weird but funny service<br/><br/>Me and my wife came here about a year ago on a grabone. And have been a regular ever since. Why I have never reviewed I have no idea!<br/><br/>That in itself says a lot, Devonport is full of cafes and yet Corellis is still hands down the best cafe in devonport<br/>It has seating inside and out, toys for kids and a liquor license!! The food is spot on not pricey<br/><br/>If you go to devonport head here for you lunch and coffee fix.<br/>

Other than a long 35-40 minutes wait for our lunch to arrive, it was very good except for a couple of minor imperfections. This is a "high" 3.5. Pity Zomato only only allows scoring on 0.5's.<br/><br/>The food portions are generous, and the quality of the food itself is very satisfactory. The fillings in the Steak Sandwich I had was plentiful including a scotch fillet of approximately 200g if not a little more. There is no chance anyone can expect to eat this as a "sandwich", but rather a delicate process of dissecting the meal is likely required. The steak was cooked a fair beyond the requested medium rare and was slightly hard to chew, and the sandwich had a excessive amount of mushroom sauce which slowly turned the bread into a soggy blanket in some parts. Taste-wise it was excellent, though some may find the mushroom sauce too cheesy.<br/><br/>Lastly I liked the menu itself which had a good number of items but not excessive. The items on offer were easy to intepret and it was honest rather than pretentious.<br/><br/>No problems at all recommending this restaurant in Devonport despite the long wait for our food which I hope is not a regular occurence.

We went on Saturday afternoon. Most of the people were asking for the dinner special (it seemed to be good and generous). Instead of dinner, we had a carrot cake, ice latte and a caramel milshake and of was also generous and really yummy. We really liked this place, the staff was very nice and its a beautiful place to spend some time. We will go again, definitely.

Would most likely come back here again , my partner had the bacon and leak pie which was to die for but also I had a salad which was really organic and healthy

Visited Corelli’s on a sunny day, lots of outdoor seating was available. Staff were very friendly. I opted for fish and chips for lunch as you get a generous plate of it, I could barely finish it. Chips are crisp and salad is fresh, fish has a little too much batter for my liking but the fish tasted fresh too. Overall enjoyed my experience and will visit again when in the area. Also I recommend ordering the Spider (fizzy drink and vanilla ice cream) on a hot day, it was perfect.

Came here for a coffee pick me up. This place caught my attention as it had a lot of people seated. Enjoyed my mocha - size, taste and temperature were all spot on. I liked the little chocolate covered marshmallow that came with the drink too.

My favorite café, the staff are very friendly, the food especially the steak sandwich is extremely tasty. I want to try different foods but I just HAVE to have the steak sandwich, this place is Fantastic. This café is keeping me from going to any other café!

Love the atmosphere of this cafe. Relaxing and staff were great. I enjoyed my Poke Bowl which had salmon and edame amongst other raw items with a miso dressing. It looked big but it fitted in without trouble. My friend picked out 6 dishes that he wanted and settled with fish and chips which he said was lovely and not greasy which was important for him. My other friend had the vegie egg. Loved all the odd pottery pieces that were used as plates and utensils and for sale. It feels like someone’s living room.
The Chilli Muncher
A good solid brunch, quick attentive service and an menu with the usual but also some interesting options to consider. Meals came very quickly but there was not pressure or rush to finish or move on. Obviously popular with, and full of locals, on a Sunday morning. <br/><br/>A very eclectic decor that somehow came together to create a relaxing vibe.

If a friend was visiting Devonport and wanted to go out somewhere for a nice brunch or lunch, I'd take them to Corellis. I've only ever had 1 bad experience out of the multiple times I've been here. Service is good, the menu has a lot of variety, and it's pretty well priced. They also give discount to us in the Navy which is nice. <br/>Before I went DF/GF I would come for French toast. It is probably the best I've had and their waffles are good too. <br/>Great atmosphere and great coffee. It's not part of the "pretty insta-worthy food" but a classic cafe with hearty meals.
Vanessa Ciputra
Corelli's is a down-to-earth and cozy cafe, which makes it a nice place to have a casual coffee. The inside seating area is quite spacious and the outside is sheltered by greenery to enjoy the fresh air without having to worry about the sunlight.<br/><br/>Alongside its cozy setting, the quality of the food was amazing. We had the Salmon Eggs Benedict and the Works Breakfast. The meals were delicious, the eggs were poached beautifully and they had stunning presentation. The coffee was fine, but the Ice Chocolate had a strong taste of artificial syrup making it hard to finish.<br/><br/>Service was one of the best among all the other cafes we've dined in. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.<br/><br/>A highly recommended cafe, wonderful for brunch and drinks in the heart of Devonport.<br/><br/>Ambience: 7/10<br/>Food & Drinks: 8/10<br/>Service: 10/10<br/>
Todd
Very nice decor with lovely outdoor seating. it was a blustery day when I was there but the outdoor heaters had the seats feeling cozy. the food was suitably delicious and not absurdly priced.

The reviews on zomato made me excited to visit this place.<br/><br/>The positive reviews were right. The food is great, very relaxed atmosphere.<br/><br/>If you visit make sure u ask for a side of creamy mushrooms, it is delicious and goes with whatever you order

Simply Saying: You will Feel Eating at HOME!<br/><br/>The food taste is excellent, home recipe, sweet is also amazing, I would recommend the PLUM raspberry homemade cake, and most of all the Friendly Smily Owner :) Thanks Anna for the great food and conversation. #corelliscafe #NewZealand #devonport

I went here for brunch on my visit to Devonport. At first I came here because of the outdoor seats that looked so cozy. The coffee was nice, foods came on a quite big portion I think, which is good to share. The penne pasta was so creamy but little bit too soft. <br/>I love the ambience of the place, it's just so comfy to seat for a long time, staffs were also great and friendly!
Sam
My favourite cafe in Devonport. I have been going regularly over the last few years and am never disappointed. The ambience has a very homely and warm feel. The staff are very friendly, especially the 'older' staff members. The service is actually exceptional, they make you feel very welcome and well taken care of. The food is also very good. The salads are great, the deserts are delicious. My only issue is that sometimes it is so busy that there are no tables available. Obviously this isnt their fault though. It is slightly on the pricey side but pretty standard for Devonport really... and it is worth it.
Quokkoala
Really cute cafe with a quaint vibe. Coffee is delightful and always served with a smile. Many a tasty breakfast has been had here on a sleepy weekend and a quick coffee before work during the week.
Nina
Lunch time absolutely busy and lovely atmosphere. Penne chicken and bacon pasta was yum sauce was just the right amount and chicken cooker perfectly. Coffee was done to perfection, strong and hot. <br/>Definitely a place to go for a yummy cafe lunch without a hefty price tag.
Carina Chang
worst seafood chowder I ever had! Not quite sure is the seafood inside expired, they are not fresh at all, which caused nausea and feel sick during the whole afternoon.(we had lunch there) <br/>There fish n chips are overpriced too. see the dark brown color of fish batter, that wasn't made by clean oil!...
Emma Patricia Katili
This place can be easily overlooked with dozens more of similar cafes in devonport. However, this little cafe is always busy. Their food is great and so is their coffee
Lvcupk8
Amazing food and service. Had breakfast here with my partner and one year son. Friendly staff, instantly offered a high chair for my young one and toys to preoccupy him. We had breakfast so yummy! Along with fresh juice and cappuccino. Would most definitely go back.
Bhagyesh Prabhumirashi
Typical kiwi style cafe located in devonport. Ordered fish and chips which was awesome and best ever in the auckland i feel. Good portion size. Tomato amd feta soup was delicious. Awesome experience.
Angela Purcell
Great food and nice coffee. Cute old cafe charm. I had the spinach and feta scrambled eggs and they were delicious - so much food I couldn't finish it. Will definitely be back.
Jk
Best fish and chips I've had in Auckland. The only downside is that the place is little crowded and you feel bit crammed. The food is good, people are kind. The place is nicely located in Devonport.
Jasmine Platt
We go to Corelli's every day (for both food and coffee)- sometimes 2-3 times (because it's that good).<br/><br/>The service is friendly and relaxed, the menu extensive for all tastes and inclinations, the salads beyond AMAZING. <br/><br/>TONS of delicious options on the menu if you are wanting to be healthy, sugar-free, wheat-free, dairy-free, etc, etc (the coconut chocolate bar is so goooood!) The coffee is great (we are ex-Ponsonby coffee snobs, that's saying something!)<br/><br/>A great cafe, which could best be described as non-pretentiously honest and real in every way. If you want five star, this isn't the place to come. If you want a good, honest, relaxed meal, this is the perfect place.  My 8 year old reports the kids menu is great. (It's a very child-friendly and dog-friendly cafe).<br/>They do a wonderful job of serving the local community and visitors, because they really take care of their patrons. Live music nights (Tuesday nights) and the $25 dinner and a movie deal at The Vic movie theatre next door make it a really wonderful community cafe. <br/><br/>Notable mention: They do a $38 prepaid coffee card for 10 coffees (including large), making it the best deal of coffees in town.
Maree
I had dinner with some friends at Corelli's a couple of weeks ago, they all seemed to enjoy what they ordered, but I ordered the chicken and mushroom pasta which was terrible. I felt uncomfortable complaining so said nothing, but the pasta was oily and the cream had separated. It tasted like it had been reheated rather than cooked fresh. The service was okay, but as I left feeling ill, I wouldn't return.
Kate Regan
Great place! Corelis is usually full, the restaurant feels a little cramped sometimes however the decor is bespoke. Sizable coffees served in an assortment of pottery cups! <br/>I reccomend the mocha or hot chocolate with chocolate bar, it was Instagram worthy and was simply divine. <br/>Brunch is always great here! <br/>They can be found in the entertainment book and offer a Navy discount for those that serve our country.
STRADS
My wife & I visited Devonport on my day off.  Corelli's is on the far northern end away from the wharf. The tables & chairs are all fairly scruffy. Fortunately, food was good. We had steak sandwich with creamy mushrooms & parmesan on toasted Turkish bread & grilled lamb fillet on Greek salad with balsamic reduction dressing. Coffees were not hot enough. (Food - 4/5; Service - 3/5; Ambience - 2/5)
Jing Kha
Ordered a mocha frappe and requested no sugar, no cream and that the skim milk was replaced with coconut milk. The drink was WAY too sweet. There was obviously cream added and there was definitely no coconut taste at all. Extremely disappointed. Definitely won't be back.
Jessica Lane
Lovely place. We must have gone at just the right time, at around 9:30 on Saturday morning it was quiet with plenty of seats, we walked past about an hour later and it was bustling. Pleasant service and a cabinet full of amazing looking cakes! I had a chilli hot chocolate which was good and vanilla buttermilk hot cakes which were wonderful. They had a really unique texture and tasted delicious. They could have come with a little more syrup and compote but I'm certain they would have provided more if I asked so I won't hold it against them. Would definitely visit again!
Constanza Wilhelmy
devonport enchants you the moment you step off the ferry. with corelli's its exactly the same: beautiful decor, great environment, and the most delicious food ever. we had a jug of sangria, which was absolutely delicious, along with the day's special - mash potatoes and lamb chops - and the haloumi salad. yes, the mash and the chops were as yummy as you get, but thank god for the haloumi salad! i am not exxagerating when i say it is the most delicious salad i've tasted in my life. all flavors come together in perfect harmony. the korean dressing was the perfect touch. whoever said salad was boring should try this. a PERFECT dinner - i would come back a hundred times!
Annie Scott
Absolutely delicious dinner here!! Such a funky decor and very friendly and attentive staff. Treat you like good friends. Food is great, really good sized portions - we got the chicken salad, beef nachos and curly fries between three of us. And the sticky date pudding for dessert which I highly recommend!!
Andrew
Day 2 in Auckland.... Went over for breakfast. Ordered scrambled eggs on Turkish with bacon, poached eggs in sourdough. Coffees were very good. I enjoyed it. Eggs were ok, scrambled eggs were good but poached eggs could have done for a little longer... Loved the decor, quaint and really in keeping with the area. Loved it!
Josephine
Really great atmosphere and service. We had the baked potato and it was delicious! Ordered an apple juice and orange juice, apple juice came out freshly squeezed which was lovely, they forgot about the orange juice but was very apologetic and quickly made a fresh one. Great food and lovely staff, would return again!

Came here today and the place was buzzing but managed to get a table straight away. The servers where quite busy so took a while to get our orders in. Not too impressed when our drinks came... My coffee was 1/3rd all foam and quite bitter, my dad's drink was really messy and splashed all over the saucer (as seen on pic), the raspberry cocktail smoothie was average...certainly had better ones for the price of $7.50! Luckily food was good..(no major complaints) and reasonably priced. Can't say we'll be in hurry to get back tho.

I had a steak sandwich which was terrific.  It was the best steak sandwich which I have had.  Friendly surroundings and good service.  My friends also enjoyed their meals

Really good eat out in Devonport! We came around 2pm and it was definitely busy and there were barely any tables. They managed to fit us in this narrow bench for the 8 of us. It was a small fit but it kept us all talking altogether really well. Food and drinks came out in good timing and it was so good! I had the 'works' and changed up the bread to 5 grain. Best decision ever! The bread was my favourite part. The eggs were perfectly poached and everything was cleaned off my plate. A few of my friends had the warm chicken salad and it was so yummy! Had a lovely Thai kick to it and the homemade sauce was tasty! Definitely will come back.

I went here with friends yesterday for lunch, the cafe itself is really nice. Beautiful gardens, outdoor area and a nice open area with lots of tables. <br/><br/>The service is friendly, our waitress was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. <br/><br/>The food however was just normal, nothing really special about it. The prices were good for what it was which made up for it. <br/><br/>Probably wouldn't come back as I would rather try something different. Devonport has a lot of really nice cafes.

This morning when we were in Devonport waiting for a shop to open to grab some of my essential items, we walked in to Corelli's.<br/><br/>The ambient was so comfortable. I especially like the two seating right beside the road and in front of the cafe.<br/><br/>We ordered a cup of cappuccino, a cup of fluffy, a glass of iced chocolate and a kumara fries.<br/>Oh my God! The kumara fries were simply delicious! The outer layer was crispy and the warm inner kumara was so yum! The portion was very big. It was good to share within three of us as snack.<br/>The cappuccino was one of the good one in Auckland.<br/><br/>Just love it!

Ambience is quite rustic and fun. I had delved on menu for something special, though menu ain't that exciting. So ordered a Large Hot Chocolate, the serving was really great. Hot Chocolate was accompanied with marshmallows one of which was chocolate dipped. <br/><br/>Waiters are really friendly and good to have a convo. Its easy on the pocket, All together good place to catch up with someone on a coffee date. Thumbs up for them.

I came here with family after a movie at The Vic, it was nice to enjoy dinner in Corelli's relaxed atmosphere. I had a potato and spinach lasagne which was a delicious vegetarian option - the side salad it came with was equally good with many different elements. The pricing was quite reasonable and although I couldn't fit in dessert, the options in the cabinet looked delicious. I will have to return another time for cake and coffee!

Cute destination in Devonport for a good brunch. I really enjoyed the seafood chowder which was served with a garlic toast - really flavourful! I also liked the crunch on the curly fries which definitely weren't soggy and limp. Overall a relaxed place with helpful, smiley staff :)

Have been a regular here for 3 years now! Love it! Best muesli for breakfast around $9-10 with berries, yoghurt and banana in a handmade bowl. Ask to swap the milk for freshly squeezed apple or orange juice its divine! <br/>The ambience is lovely, very chic, DIY style with uneven mugs and wooden chairs. There is even a chess board in the cafe to play with. Mulled wine in winter at night. Waffles for breakfast. Yummy lamb salad for lunch. Live music some times and spanish classes some nights. There are plants growing outside too.

We decided on Corelli's when we searched Zomato for breakfast options. Not going to lie we chose Corelli's set on two options on the menus online. <br/>After taking the trip to Devonport, and finding the cute little cafe we noticed the menu was different and what we went for wasn't there! <br/>However after receiving a beautiful Chai in a magnificent giant mug and a tasty frappe we settled on French toast and a ham toasty. Both were equally delicious. I got defeated by my toasty due to the portion sizes being more than enough so your unlikely to leave feeling hungry! <br/><br/>We loved the atmosphere and the service was pleasant. Can definitely see it getting busy in summer, as it was pretty lively for a Monday morning.

I'm editing this review since we return to this place recently to have a dinner.<br/><br/>We arrived on the place on Friday around 5pm and we ordered a fish and a haloumi salad. Half hour later nobody came to our table and it turned out they didn't even place the order. They offered us a 20% off if we decide to wait longer. We understand people commit mistakes and might end up forgetting to place an order, however not even checking if your customers are waiting something else for 30 minutes is definitely not. Because of the significant drop on the service, the lack of attention and care we are dropping our review and not recommending this place anymore.<br/><br/>We strong recommend a review on the management services.

We always go to Manuka so we thought we try this place out . Big mistake ... Food is average service is below average ... The waiter brought the water and cutleries wearing dirty gloves...The place was full of kids and there was a very bad smell we couldn't wait to leave. <br/>

Perfect place to have brunch with the family. Don't expect matching dinning plates ! The portions are quite substantial and the atmosphere is homey. Wouldn't recommend the dinning at dinner. The food menu is more for lunch or late lunch. Dessert was more cafe style, with slices etc.. Been here on a couple of occasions and the menu seems to change quite a bit, but the service is still good as always. Would suggests this joint if you want a more relaxed lunch time break with the fam. However the seating within the restaurant is quite awkward, we got unlucky a few times and had to sit literally in the rest room hall way. Had to complete with a rocking table and people constantly walking by. Other than that the food quality was mediocre, but restaurant setting was like dinning at your grandparents place on a Sunday. Would recommend this place if you're into that type of dinning.

Very great cafe in the centre of Devonport. I went to Cheltenham beach today and had a lovely lunch in Corelli's. I ordered a sweet potato&spinach lasagna with salads, which was a very innovative and stunning vegetarian dish. It was a bit busy there in a lazy weekend afternoon but the atmosphere was just so cozy.

Came here with a Grab one voucher a while ago and had an AWESOME breakfast. Great place to go if you're in the Devonport area. Will go back sometime!

Really lovely family casual dining. <br/>I had a chicken salad and it was absolutely loaded with deliciousness. A very reasonable serving of both chicken and bacon. <br/>
World In A Bite
I had tomato soup here... That was nice in winter. Also free wifi....

Hearty local restaurant that serves food and love! I like how this little cafe and bar is tucked right at the end of the main street of central Devonport. However that didn't stop people from going for dinner and desserts. It's by far the most packed place on a weekday in Devonport. Corelli's also had very nice retro decoration that evokes a home feeling. The place was busy, filled with chatter and laughs but we still enjoyed the vibe. We had the seafood chowder and Burritos with salad. They were served in huge portions and were very scrumptious. The seafood chowder was slightly over creamy but the flavour is decent and had a lot of seafood. The burrito differed from the traditional ones where you have rice wrapped inside. Here we were served with an all meat burrito with salads and seeds on the side. The combination was great as the salad made the dish more refreshing and the zest of lemon was also spot on. For dessert we had the lemon (again :p) yoghurt cream cake. The cake was light and the yoghurt cream was just right to add flavour! Overall loved the place and would be keen to go back for desserts or a hearty big dinner.

Came here for the first time the other day for their $10 lunch special - was a spring onion and bean pie sounds weird but was absolutely delicious. My coffee arrived maybe two minutes after the main but I didn't even take notice until I paid and they said that it was COMPLIMENTARY because it was late. Amazing service. These guys really know how to look after their customers even when they're run off of their feet. Plan on being a regular from now on.

Me and my friends all got the warm chicken salad and it was amazing, full of flavour and the perfect amount 😁 The chicken and bacon were cooked exactly how I liked it. The kumara fries and curly fries were also great and you get sooo much which is ideal for sharing. Great service as well

A group of 8 we enjoyed a bottle of wine and I had the salmon with mash and salad. The atmosphere was fun the place was all hustle and bustle. You need to book it was full luckily we went with friends who had booked. Right next to The Vic theatre it is a perfect spot for a moderately priced meal before the show.  <br/>The food was nice enough and all arrived about the same time. The waiting staff were friendly. We sat at a big comfortable table. I would go again, it's not a gourmet spot but pleasant enough to consider a return visit at some stage.

Good wholesome and homely food- check out the Sunday Roast and the chilli hot chocolate (yum!). <br/><br/>Bang bang chicken salad is my new favourite dish here. Also love the laid back atmosphere, great service and eclectic decor.

Came here on a showery day. The cafe is pretty full. But after 5 mins, the tentative waiter still managed to find an adequate table for 6. The food is excellent. I ordered Salmon mesh. The fish has great flavour and the potato is perfectly done. Equally good is the tortilla with goat cheese, bacon & spinach.

Corelli was a handy cafe and bar. Its next to the old Victoria cinema and has a small outside seating and tight but functional indoor arrangement of large and small tables. Lots of character blends with the old solid wood chatm ie kauri and other natives. Oh coffee was good and handy if you prefer a bottled beer instead. Brouggt my dog who happy sits in an allocated area by the entrance.
Alex Gomersall
Always enjoy Corelli's... The deserts are divine! I suggest the glutan free brownie and cream... ( don't let the glutan freetag scare you off...it's better then the glutan brownie by far!)
LouLou
Average...not sure I'll rush back here. I get the repurposed interior decorating, but the table for 2 was tiny, especially when the plates arrived, and unstable which made for a roller coaster eating experience. Half way through the meal, staff jammed the door open and it was freezing where we were located. My Vegetarian Toasted had good flavours, coffee was ok. Wait staff need a lesson in customer service, if not, some good ol' fashioned manners wouldn't have gone amiss. Counter staff were great though, providing tips for the takeaway gluten free brownie, which was delish.

Great food ! I like the interior of this place its so antique!! Would definitely try out the desert next time when i visit! <br/>Recommending salmon mash for breakfast dish!

Great food and the cutest little cafe! Service was totally poor though, the waitress pressured us to order faster even though the cafe was mostly empty and she took my plate before I was finished with my food. Pretty rude in general...

Love this place on the famous Devonport strip! They make a really good hot drink here, which is perfect for winter. Also love their cabinet desserts. The pavlova is to die for! Definitely keen to being my mum here as it's exactly the kind of place that she likes!

Mixed views about this place. My wife and kids really like the place and the food is good and well priced but there seems too much clutter. Suggest a good clear out and less of a focus on the grabone deals. In my experience breakfast is the best option.
The Toronto Cafe And Food Blog
When I was in Auckland, I toured around the local sites. There is a small island called Devonport, which is about a 20 minute boat ride from Auckland. It's like the suburbs for us Torontonians, except on a separate island. After I climbed a huge mountain and got a gorgeous view of Auckland from a distance, I returned to the tiny strip in town by the harbour. To avoid the rain, my friend and I took refuge in a family-oriented cafe called Corellis. I ordered a milkshake for $5.50. It was either Chocolate or Caramel flavoured but I can't remember. The cup was quite large so it wasn't a bad deal. I haven't tried anything else from Corellis but if you ever need something to eat in Devonport, you can check this place out.
Miss Charlotte Cake
Wonderful little cafe, loved the decorations, plants and mismatched furniture outside! We had a bit of a wobbly table but it ended up being quite funny in the end. The waiter that was serving us was extremely friendly and the awesome girl behind the counter with all the tattoos was also really lovely to deal with even though we had a million dessert related questions and couldn't make up our minds!<br/><br/>I ordered Gluten Free Lemon cake and an English Breakfast tea (my standard) and it was delicious, I could easily of eaten another slice :D Overall I was really happy with the service and the food that me and my friend had. <br/><br/>Will definitely be heading back to this cafe when I make my way over to do more vintage shopping in Devonport.
Brunchalicious
Friendly service but a bit disorganised and it took a while before they cleaned the table from previous customers. We had brunch here and the food was good and fresh. It is a casual place I would go to if I was in the neighbourhood but wouldn't make a special trip for
Joe Roberts
This place has a really good vibe to it. Nice coffee, well portioned meals and always busy enough to create a good atmosphere. Good for small and large groups with some bigger tables outside. Food is fresh and delicious.

Yay for the Entertainment Book. If Corelli's hadn't been in there I would've completely bypassed this place because the dinner menu is a bit mundane for me. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem at all with simple food but I'm on a budget so when I eat out I prefer to have things that I couldn't or wouldn't be bothered making myself.<br/><br/>Great location for dinner before a movie at the cinema next door. Two of us shared the garlic bread to start. I initially thought I wasn't that hungry but the sight of of the pieces of pide bread with the melted cheese on top told me I was. What they'd done to take this beyond garlic bread was cut the pide into fingers before sprinkling with cheese so that each finger was covered with cheese on almost 3 sides (genius). Also, the cheese was grilled to a crisp so that took away any greasiness.<br/>I had the lamb salad which was substantial. They also had a warm chicken salad and I wish more Auckland restaurants did warm salads or meal-type salads. The lamb fillet was cooked absolutely perfectly. The menu said it was on a Greek salad which wasn't strictly correct; it was on a generous bed of mesclun with a few slices of cucumber and lots of feta and olives. The salad also had pumpkin seeds which were an excellent addition. An excellent summer dish after carbo-loading on garlic bread. Actually, despite the garlic bread we also shared some kumara fries. They were skinny so were ultra-crisp on the outside. So good that when we couldn't finish them I got them in a doggie bag so I could eat them during the movie. My friend had the spinach and sweet potato lasagne (yes, it was a bit of kumara overkill for her but Iots of fibre, low GI blah blah). <br/><br/>I really liked the decor. It was rustic without being try-hard. We sat outside in a pretty courtyard on the street with mismatched tables. Very relaxing and had a very continental Europe feel to it. The staff were attentive and warm. It's a place you want to linger at.<br/><br/>

Corelli’s Café which has an outdoor area surrounded by lots of green plants. Very generous meal, 3 slices of fluffy French toast, enjoyed with maple syrup, slightly sour yoghurt, slightly tart raspberry coulis, and lovely sweet grilled bananas. Delicious.

After a stroll around Devonport, my mum and I wanted to get some light refreshments. As per usual, I "zomatoed" what's around and came upon Corelli's. It had good rating and reviews, so thought we'd check them out. <br/><br/>As we walked in, it had a homey vibe and beautifully decorated with plants and flowers. We initially wanted to be seated inside, but majority of their tables had been booked as they were having a Spanish music concert that night. We were happy to sit outside and enjoy the sun. <br/><br/>We ordered a latte, vanilla milkshake and a baked cheesecake. The cheesecake was delicious and I liked the berry syrup on top with yoghurt on the side. My mum highly liked her latte. She said it was the best she had- and that really says something! The milkshake was sweet and tasty. <br/><br/>The service was good and they were very friendly. <br/><br/>One thing I would mention is probably the stains on the bottles they serve water in. It wasn't the cleanest I've seen. Other than that! Good food, great location and lovely staff.

Love this place, <br/>Rustic setting with rustic food which make you feel well at home. Staff are always friendly and helpful. <br/>Lamb burger and Mango Lassi is a great meal.
Coffee Lover
Corellis is the fist cafe we came across in Devonport.. Great atmosphere here..love the rustic outdoor setting. .this morning they are offering a crossant with scrambled eggs n ham which looks good. Good selection of sweets. Coffee arrived in good time, it was a little weak so asked for another shot which was no problem at all. Our crossant arrived....full of flavour, plenty of egg and a nice slab of ham I found it very rich towards the end but very yummy..

Well all I can say is - fabulous and fantastic!! <br/>Food, staff and environment were all convivial to an absolutely wonderful meal out with my family. Thankyou<br/>Oh... The chowder is a must to try - so fresh and delicious- yummm

Lovely eclectic cafe in the heart of devonport. Visited this afternoon for a leisurely lunch. Don't be put off by the long wait it's worth it. I ordered the lunch special. Lamb shanks with mash and salad. Amazing fresh orange juice.. friends ordered the chicken salad which was full of tenderloins. Can't wait to try their other offerings. Super friendly staff make it worth a visit.

Nice place with good customer service and food.<br/><br/>Customer Service: 8/10<br/>Food: 7/10<br/>Atmosphere: 7/10<br/>Coffee: 6/10 (maybe just didnt suit my taste)<br/><br/>Would recommend this place to friends.

Only had coffee there, but it wasn't too bad... The whole place could do with a clean, though.
Mmmfood
Corelli's has character up the wazoo! It has a lovely rustic atmosphere and if you come on the right day at the right time, there will even be live music. The menu has a delightful mix of food on it and everything that comes out of the kitchen is top quality. The staff we had were lovely and full of character, same as the establishment itself.

Went there on a 3 course meal voucher. Starters of seafood chowder (very substantial) and chorizo crostini were delicious and tasty. My husband ordered the lamb burger which was flavoursome and with a chunky patty. My salmon with salad was nice but bland however - think they forgot the dressing perhaps? Loved the dessert of brownie and sticky date pudding - both really rich and a highlight. It was all too much and we had to take half of it home. Though it was a busy saturday night, our meals came out promptly and the service was fantastic. Fabulous cafe environment and it reminded me a lot of a busy cafe in london - but not so good if you were wanting a quiet evening.<br/><br/>I'm pregnant, so we needed to make some changes (no feta, normal cheese instead of blue cheese, ice cream instead of cream) and nothing was too much trouble. If only we lived closer, we'd be regulars here. Highly recommended!

My Husband and I LOVE Corelli's. <br/>Breakfast Lunch Dinner all of it is amazing. We have gone there for countless meals and every time it is delicious.<br/>The staff are wonderful, anticipating what we will order ( we have become a little predictable now having found favourites) They have recently added new items to their menu, which we sampled a couple of nights ago. The Lamb Kebab 10/10 the Salmon/caper/red onion pasta 10/10. <br/>We will continue to enjoy this Gem of a place for years to come im sure. Thanks Corelli's for making my "nights of from cooking" so fantastic.<br/>LUV it.

My Fiance and I went here in the weekend and it was divine. We had the soup of the day for entree and that arrived so fast, no wait needed and it was beautiful. For mains we had the Salmon and Lamb and for dessert the pavlova and brownies. Everything was delicious, efficient, place was full, they were so busy yet food was flowing out of the kitchen very promptly. My fiance and I loved it, one of the best places we have been to, highly recommend it, beautiful location and great service from staff, very friendly and delicious food. Will definitely be coming back :)
Maria
My partner and I got a deal voucher for two, including a three course meal. We absolutely enjoyed our dining experience. Food was great, for entrees we ordered seafood chowder and a crostini, for the main my partner got salmon and I ordered warm chicken salad with greens and bacon. My salad was fantastic, loved the dressing, chicken was tender and moist, would love to come back again and order it for the full price. My partner enjoyed his big fillet of rich and delicious salmon. For deserts we got an apple pie and a chocolate brownie. Brownie was a winner for sure, I did not quite enjoyed raisins in my apple pie, hence 4 stars, but otherwise yummy food! Service was good, waiters were quite considerate and attentive, more smiles from the male staff members would definitely be nice, but reading all the negative comments I can assure that no one was even close to being rude to us. Overall, wonderful dining experience.
Catherine
I fully agree with all the other negative reviews. The worst experience ever!! We bought a voucher, the menu offered was VERY limited. The staff was unfriendly, he never spoke one word with us. He just threw the menus on the table. Food was average. The whole place can do with a clean-up. Will never go back there nor recommend any one.
Pat
Went with my daughter for dinner fantastic wonderful food great staff really enjoyed it .We had a really good dinning experience thank you Corelli's we will certainly be going back again
Foooood
The staff was very friendly, even though we went there about 40 mins before the closing time to use our voucher for a 3-course meal!<br/>We were also very happy with the meal. Everything was cooked perfectly and came straight after each one. The chocolate brownie was amazing!! Even though we were so full we just had to finish that yummy brownie and pavlova. Yum. <br/>The interior was nice and cosy as well. I would definitely go there again.
Claire
Have been here 3 times now, the latest on a voucher deal, which was VERY good value for money.<br/>We have always found the staff friendly, and have never been disappointed with our meals.<br/>The dessert cabinet is just torture - there are too many delicious choices!!<br/>We will definitely be going here again. Keep up the great work Corelli's! (o:

Food was ok, but staff was very unfriendly and rude. One of the waiters just threw the menus on the tables ( and not just at our table), then when he brought the food he knocked my husbands water. Other 2 staff members seemed OK though.
Servantie
Used voucher - no problem at all. Staff very pleasant and welcoming, only let down ordered lamb burger and got a tofu burger ???? Advised waitress who did offer to get a replacement lamb burger but did not want to have to wait. Also menu stated salmon came with Avacado salsa on top but no avacado to be seen?<br/><br/>Maybe just a bad night but would still go back as excellent value for $$.<br/>Thanks

Corelli's has just served our group party of 17... Wow.... Service excellent, staff fantastic, food spectacular. Cauliflower &amp; Blue Cheese Soup devine, I make a tasty Lasagne but your Sweet Potato &amp; Spinach was fabulous, just about had room for dessert. Would definitely drive over from Papakura for dinner here anytime. Thank you very much for making our friends/family leaving to Aussie and Wedding meal very memorable and special.

,olives and feta cheese.Divine!<br/>I had the salmon fillet for a main and it was to die for,as was my sticky date pudding dessert! we have brought quite a few vouchers but this one was the best by far. Great value or money.<br/>Will definitely be going back!

Worst experience ever!!! They made my birthday an awful day!!! I made a reservation but when I got there my name was lost but said there was no problem cos it wasn't busy but as soon I mentioned I had a yazoom voucher everything changed, they took off my hands the menu I was been given and replace whit another one that I didn't mind but she was very rude... After several minutes of being waiting my husband went to the cashier to order there, and still had to wait about 5 mins to order!! It took them 15 mins to give us the seafood chowder that was not hot at all!!! My children were whit me and ordered the tarakihi fish &amp; chips, my husband ordered the lamb burger and the salmon for me, we had to wait another 35 mins to our mains! <br/>The battered fish was terrible fatty and the fries were dry and cold the burger was average and my salmon was not to bad but it was so small!!! The only good thing was the apple pie<br/>Terrible service, rude staff &amp; bad food!! I really regret had bought that voucher!!
Kate Nagel
I bought a deal voucher for a 3 course meal at this cafe and really wish I hadn't.<br/><br/>Firstly my partner and I called up to book and at first they said that 7pm was fine, then once they heard we had a voucher there was someone in the background asking if we could come at 8. I thought this was very unprofessional.<br/><br/>Once we get there and get seated the waitress comes over and the service was terrible. She was very unfriendly and made us order our dessert at the same time as our mains and entree. It would have been nice to have a think about it while we were eating our mains. It seemed as though we were very rushed. <br/><br/>While we were waiting for our food we did not even get a bottle of water provided for the table, where as all the other tables inside were given one. It appeared they had forgotten about us, as we were sitting outside. They then delivered our entree before they supplied us with any cutlery which was pretty shocking. We ordered the chorizo crostini, lamb burger, lasagne and for dessert the sticky date pudding. The food overall was awful and did not have any taste to it, tasted like something out of a packet, although the dessert was nice. We were full but we felt sick and unsatisfied. <br/><br/>During our dining experience we were asked once if we would like any drinks. My partner and I ordered one drink each but after we had finished they did not ask us if we wanted another or offer us anything else. They also did not clear the glasses from our table at all. <br/><br/>Overall this was a terrible dining experience with shocking service, unfriendly staff, rushed meals and a negative atmosphere.
Tania
Took a friend for lunch yesterday - on voucher offer banquet menu. Food fantastic, service - pathetic - almost 5 hours for 3 courses!!!<br/><br/>After reading mixed reviews online I was a bit concerned.<br/><br/>I called to book. The person who answered the phone wasn't overly friendly however did mention that being a Sunday they would be busy &amp; we may need to wait. (wasn't clear if she meant wait for a table that I was booking now over the phone or long wait for meals to be served).<br/><br/>It was clearly service.<br/><br/>From the moment we sat down there was zero service. Took a long time to be given a menu. Did not ask for drinks or offer water. Once our orders were taken, the wait staff clearly did not know what table had what order &amp; just randomly walked around with food asking the customers again what their order was.<br/><br/>After our entrees, we were asked if we would like our dessert. Ummm sure - after our mains?!! We only had 1 drink each over the 5 hour period, when the waitress took our empties she didn't ask if we wanted another or offer water. <br/><br/>There was just stupidly massive amounts of time between courses. There were always empty tables so it wasn't a full house. Other customers coming &amp; going but still we waited....<br/><br/>When I went to pay the bill I joked to my friend &amp; told her see you in half an hour..... yes more waiting!!!<br/><br/>The food is great.<br/>The service is a joke.<br/>If you want to eat here, clear your schedule - it will to be an all day event.

Fabulous cafe - great value for money. Returned many times - they roast there own coffee, best cappuccino in auckland. Went to special 3 course dinner last night - free pottery plate included plus live music - great atmosphere! My kids always beg me for an iced chocolate - made the old fashioned way with real icecream.

I LOVE CORELLI'S <br/><br/>Best coffee and food in Auckland! <br/><br/>I have been several times now and it doesn't mater if its breakfast, lunch or dinner the staff are allways so friendly and helpful.<br/><br/>The food is amazing just make sure u leave room for dessert as its all home made cakes and slices mmmmmm yummy.<br/><br/>The cafe has a nice relaxed feeling to it and I love looking at all the pottery around the cafe.<br/><br/>Top place, if you haven't tried it make it your next place to go!!!!
Bernadette
Most terrible dining experience ever.<br/><br/>I bought 2 groupy vouchers and I truly regret it.<br/><br/>I went there last Thursday lunch. Atmosphere was OK and staff was not very friendly but it was OK as well. But the food was really terrible.<br/><br/>I've ordered soup of the day it was some kind of chicken soup and it had about 1cm of fat floating on it so i asked to change it. they took it in and came back with same soup 5mins later with bit of fat removed.<br/><br/>Sirloin steak was a size of child's palm.<br/><br/>And an apple pie with freezer burned ice cream...<br/><br/>If I didn't buy 2vouchers I would never ever go back to that restaurant ever again.<br/><br/>Last night I went there again to redeem my 2nd voucher with my mom and my daughter, after several phone calls to make booking which was not successful due to not answering. i checked their website, and it said to make no booking on weekend so i just went there.<br/><br/>It was some kind of soup night. with 3course meal. same as my voucher.<br/><br/>Restaurant was only half full.<br/>staff?? owner looking old lady asked us whether i was there for the soup night, i said no. she looked around and offered me a table at the corner with 2tiny round tables.<br/>and when i told her that i have a voucher she said they do not serve voucher course tonight and just walked away.<br/><br/>I followed her to cashier and asked her to make a booking for tomorrow because it is the last day for the voucher to be redeemed. she said it was fully booked so she couldn't reserve a table for me.<br/><br/>I asked her what should i do with the voucher since the voucher finish on the 15th July. <br/>she said tough had the voucher for 3months and people wanted to come on one night. and offered me a booking after 9pm for dinner with a child and walked away.<br/><br/>I could not waste my $35 voucher so i followed her to the other end of the cashier to accept booking. and asked whether lunch was available. she said lunch was fully booked as well and walked away again.<br/><br/>It seemed as she didn't care at all.<br/><br/>When I woke up this morning I called Corellis to make a booking again. <br/>There was no problem reserving a table.<br/>I have booked a table at 12:30pm for lunch today.<br/><br/>it means that owner looking lady was lying to me on my face. <br/><br/>I will go back there this afternoon and see whether all the tables are booked as that old lady said.<br/>And will post my review again.<br/><br/>Most terrible food with terrible service.<br/><br/>UPDATE:<br/>I went back to Corellis again to use my 2nd voucher at 12:30pm.<br/><br/>Restaurant was only half full and the tables were definately not fully booked which means that the owner lady did lied to me. Did she lie to me because I had pre-paid voucher or was it because I am an asian??? <br/><br/>I told the staff what happend last night. <br/>They were covering her and told me that the owner was stressed out because of the soup night.<br/>But to me it is not acceptable. If she cannot handle it she shouldn’t have organised it in the first place. There is no reason for her to let it out on me or other people.<br/><br/>Today’s service was better than the first visit or the second one. And food was better than before.<br/><br/>But I definitely will not go back there and wouldn’t recommend that place to anyone.<br/>There are much better places with better food and service with similar price range.
Sera
This placed saved my night. I went to Devonport to dine at a neighboring tavern which was soooo bad I ended up at Corellis Cafe. What a Gem!!! Loved the food, service and the awesome staff. Diff go there. Made my terrible dining out night into a absolute wonderful experience. Thank you so much.
GaelM
Tasty, well presented food. Very good prices. Friendly service. Good atmosphere. I look forward to going back there again for a meal.

Went for lunch. We were about 20 people in the group and the service was great! Food was very good - from starters to dessert. Will definitely go there again! No mistakes in anyone's orders. The atmosphere were great.

Not a good experience. Came in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was quite up to capacity - a few free tables.<br/><br/>I don't know if I got the worst table in the house, but we were right next to the cashier and cabinet area and bar and icecream and kitchen. For some reason, the staff INSISTED on forcing herself into tight space space in between the back of my chair and the bar, to pour tap beer (which she then proceeded to spill slightly on my arm). Why they couldn't go around to back of the bar like other wait staff would is beyond me.<br/><br/>We were told there would be a 20-minute wait and there was a 20-minute wait. Interestingly, no food came out during that 20 minutes until all the meals for everyone in the cafe came flying out at once. They initially gave me a chicken salad, which I did not order, but was quickly replaced with what I did - chicken burger.<br/><br/>The food was truly terrible. The chicken burger had little flavour - very bland. Chicken was dry and rubbery, bacon was fatty (the rind not removed), salad was brown and gross and a laughable amount of guacamole. The other ordered items were uninspiring and nothing to rave about.<br/><br/>All-in-all, a pretty poor effort.

We went there this afternoon with my husband and my toddler. We shared a Gluten Free brownie and we all agreed that this was the best brownie we had ever had. Will definitely go back there for more sweet treats!

We LOVE Corelli's :-) Great food... good prices ...great location ...excellent coffee. This is a really good cafe with a friendly, casual, relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend the Caesar Salad or Caesar wrap, fries and milkshakes.... mmmmmmm ....YUM :-D

We had brunch here the other day using our Entertainment Book voucher. We had our pup and sat outside on the patio. Waitress was fantasticly friendly! We were there earlier and it started to fill up, and we can see why. Our salmon potato hash was one of the best brekkie dishes I have had in ages - real roasted salmon, not smoked or shaved. My only complaint was that the husband had more on his plate! ;) My husband also had a special request, and they handled it well. Great coffee, great ambience, great food and fab staff. Thanks!

Yes, friends have taken us to Corelli's 2 or 3 times, and we have got the bug and go there at the slightest opportunity. Every meal is tasty, good value - and not so over the top that there's no room for desert - and what deserts !! The staff treat you like it's there home and everyone is a friend and very welcome. They even have folk music there.

We regularly visit this cafe for coffee, lunch &amp; the occasional evening meal. We've always found the staff to be very friendly, and the food both tasty &amp; extremely good value.<br/>On the rare occasions when they are packed to capacity, service can be a bit slower than usual, but that's only to be expected.<br/><br/>Went there last night &amp; took a couple of friends. We all had a great time, and our friends intend to return again, as they were most impressed.

Whilst on business in Auckland I met business associates at this cafe for lunch. I should really contemplate a move across the Tasman on a permanent basis so I can dine here often! The food was brilliant and service to match. Not cafe quality at all, more like a Parisian bistro at cafe prices. So good on you Corelli's and well done to the chef and staff. Baz W

I'm not surprised to hear it's on the market....on a busy holiday weekend, we waited over 45 minutes for our order, which, when it arrived was revolting-burnt,blackened fat being passed off as bacon.<br/>The owner, when approached about the long wait and unacceptable quality of the food, told us to "f**k off, just f**k off"<br/>So, NO stars for food, and customer service???? Go there at your own peril!!

I have been to this cafe several times and find it really good value. The food is tasty and well presented. I particularly recommend both the fish and chips which were crisp and tasty and the lamb cutlets with the Greek salad. I will definitely be going back.

I have had am meal there 4 times now with diferent people each time and it is a winner for me. The menu is varied enough to give a reasonable fresh variety and everyone with me has enjoyed value for money. Best kept secret in town,
Sasha
The Staff were very friendly and the cafe has a good atmosphere but..... food was very poor. We had the fish &amp; chips and Salmon Potatoe Mash with Egg Benedict. <br/>The Fish and Chips were Soggy and the fish batter was not seasoned and wet. The fish was not fresh.<br/>Salmon Potatoe Mash had no flavour and we couldn't find any salmon in it.!!! <br/>For what we paid this was a terrible meal!!<br/>We were disappointed.<br/><br/>But if you like good coffee and friendly staff, go here. But don't get anything to eat!!!

Best coffees on the North Shore.<br/><br/>The short black has a thick rich crema and leaves you feeling full and refreshed.<br/><br/>The flat white possesses a luscious chocolate flavour that avoids sweetness but still leaves no bitter after taste. Truly memorable

If you want home made baking with excellent coffee, this is the place. I love the homely feeling that the cafe gives you, especially the couches by the french windows. On a hot summer evening you can relax on the couch, with a glass of wine and the evening sun. <br/>Nibbles, wine and good company, what more do you need!

Fantastic food at Corelli's, the chocolate brownie is the best I have ever tried. My Salmon croissant was packed full of salmon and capers and was also delicious. The coffee is excellent and service and prices are very good.<br/>Relaxed seating areas, light and airy due to the huge bi fold doors and right next to the Victoria Theatre-perfect

Our new local- great coffee and freshly made food on site. Recommend the big breakfast especially following a late night Christmas party!

Lovely friendly cafe and the best sticky date pudding I have ever tasted.

Whenever friends come to Devonport I take them to Corelli's cafe. The food is organic and of the highest quality and their freshly roasted coffee is delicious. Plus the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed so I often go by myself as well. It's a standout and has become my local haunt.

The desserts are to die for. Enjoy sitting on the couches with friends catching up on the news, it's become our favourite hang out. Great art and ceramics for sale too.

A group of us recently shared pizzas at this charming, characterful cafe. It's nice to find somewhere with a bit of soul and really good food and coffee. The service was really friendly and I enjoyed seeing the ceramic display.

Great ambience, great coffee, fantastic food! The baking is to die for, and the chai tea is brilliant. Also an excellent pottery display.
