Review Five Loaves Cafe - Devonport

We randomly passed this place and went for a coffee with the kids. Very friendly staff and great coffees. Also when one of my kids spilled their fluffy one of the staff quickly offered to replace it and didn't make us feel bad about the situation. Very kind!!

A cute little neighbourhood cafe. Chose the Vegan Breakfast & a cafe latte. Tasty rosti potato & avocado with grilled tomato. Wished I’d ordered cappuccino cause the latte in a mug was weak. I prefer my coffee stronger. Having free wifi & being able to lounge in the sunshine & talk with my sister back home in 🇨🇦 was a luxury!

I really like this place. The staff are always very friendly, they've always greeted me with a warm smile and a hello/good morning when I enter. The food and coffee is really great too! I've had a few breakfast items and every time I have been impressed, although my faves are still the pancakes and Mt Vic mushrooms.

We come here often. I always order the eggs florentine, so delicious. A few gluten-free options available too. The staff are lovely and it’s so nice sitting out the front under the trees.

Always friendly and welcoming. The food is great and the coffee has been my only reason to get out of bed some mornings. Also a great place to see some really good dogs.

The people who own and run this cafe are awesome. My 85yr old Aunty Valda frequently dines in at the cafe and the staff take great care of her. I am so grateful to all the staff at the 5 Loaves Cafe and really appreciate all that they do and the beautiful meals and coffee they sell. Kind Regards The Lucas family from the Gold Coast Australia 🙏❤️💐

Lovely care with delightful selections for lunch. Very good cappuccino too.

Very nice. Quaint little cafe away from the hustle & bustle of Downtown Devonport. Down the road from where I lived 30 + years ago. Staff were very polite and professional. We just had coffee and fruit juice which were very nice. Food looked nice and the menu looked good too. I'll be back another time.

Nice cafe with indoor and outdoor seating in a quieter area of Devonport. Good food and coffee, good choice of dishes, GF options available. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Friendly, helpful staff in plain but pleasant rooms. The salmon and avocado bagel and corn fritters were delightful. We’ll return.

Best kept secret in Devo! Good coffee, food and service. Eggs bene comes with a home made Hollandaise sauce. But the Thai food is ok too, fresh, authentic flavour and good portion size.

Pleasant little cafe serving light meals, snacks and pastries, with decent coffee and tea selection. Fairly basic internal seating but with some nice décor touches. Outside seating is pleasant and quiet, despite being near a small intersection, and gets full sun during the afternoon.

Came here for brunch and left feeling disappointed. Service was slow with the meal turning out not worth the wait. I ordered poached eggs with house-made mince on organic ciabatta. The poached eggs were hard so had to be sent back to be cooked again as well as the bread which was soggy and cold. It’s a shame because the location is great and the staff are friendly but the wait time and quality of food will stop me from going back again.

Quick brunch at 5 Loaves Devonport. Eggs Florentine nd a long black... the better half goes for the scramled eggs nd a green tea.. always a pleasure to see our lovely Thai friends nd enjoy their hospitality!

I grabbed a quick scone from here on the way to an event and I was delighted with this surprise find. My blueberry scone was warm and crunchy on top. The outside of the scone reminds me of traditional Chinese cakes, sweet and crunchy. The inside texture is the same as normal scones. It wasn't too sweet and filling enough for a light lunch. Service was friendly. Decor of the cafe can do with some updating but the overall ambiance was peaceful, a nice hideaway from the bustle of city life.

Excellent food range and great service! Highly recommend the eggs benidict or the French toast with bacon and a side of plain yoghurt. Chocolate milk shake is a must try. Excellent coffees, recommend the chai late. Sometimes if it's half busy it will take a while for your food to be ready. But good food takes time.

Really great location and awesome layout. The staff are super friendly and the food was delicious. We came in a group of 12 and there ended up being 45 minutes between our first and last meal arriving which is a shame. The staff were very apologetic and explained that they were a chef down which explains the delay but it definitely put a dampener on the breakfast and left the last few of us shoveling our food down as fast as we could because everyone else was ready to leave.

Great location (not on the boring Devonport strip) with a clean well laid out premises and welcoming staff. Really an early morning breakfast place and lunch options are limited. coffee was good but eggs appeared over cooked

We had this voucher Five Loaves sitting for a while and luckily I noticed that it was about to expire so we decided to use it and we're very glad we did!

Service was great! friendly staff and the food was very good. I had to Omelette with Chorizo and roasted capsicums, yuuummmy! the serving was huge, good value for money! we'll definitely go back!

Don't go what a waste of time and money with a owner not taking responsibility.
Booked and paid for a High Tea what a rip off can't call it a High Tea worst I have ever had.
Pity for the friendly waitress left to try and deal with the mess.
Not to be reccomended at all how the new owner will stay in business is beyond me, hospitality it is not.

We came here for brunch. We ordered fish & chips but were told the supplier forgot to bring the fish. As I am vegetarian & don't like eggs I ordered the vege stack but asked for mushrooms & avocado instead of poached eggs (this is an alternative option with the big breakfast). I was told I would have to pay for these as additional side orders. When I suggested that this wasn't very accommodating I was told she would give me a small side of mushrooms. The thyme hash cakes were tasteless, undercooked and there was not a hint of thyme. The meal was flavorless and disappointing. Coffee was good but customer service by woman in charge definitely needs to be addressed. Other staff were friendly and helpful.
Very friendly staff, can tell that a lot of patrons go there in the morning as they seem to have known each other for quite awhile (I find it amazing!). Food was in a good portion and didn't leave my stomach wanting for more. Enjoyed the meals, but have to say that nothing made it "pop out" to the other (cafés) I have tried. Overall, it was only the service that really struck me. Although, I would gladly come back here again some time.

What a disaster!! Arrived at 11.30 after being told needed to book for a Sunday only to find there was no booking made. They appeared to be completely flustered, the coffee was of very poor quality, and when our meals finally arrived the tomatoes were burnt and the hollandaise was definitely not home made, it was insipid. My dining companion asked if she could swap her poached egg for a fried one and was told NO but when it was ordered as a side, it appeared on the plate???
Definitely not recommended

Went there twice... Both times I've had to ask repeatedly for the waitress to stop passing all the food and tea/coffee over the 1-year old's head... The response at my visit yesterday was that there 'weren't any other entry routes' - what about everywhere else along the 8-seater table? Good was average.

A great alternative nestled amongst character buildings away from the madness of the main Devonport shops. Great service, coffee and the Huevos Rancheros are fantastic! The bike rack is a nice touch too.

This is our favourite cafe in Devonport and often don't bother going anywhere else as we get consistently great coffee, nice menu, and super friendly staff. It's not on the main drag but this makes it special and gives it a really relaxed atmosphere. Go here to chill out. Across the road is a tiny park where you can enjoy your coffee on a picnic rug that the staff bring over (weather permitting!) to you free of charge. A nice little touch.

This is a great cafe. The coffee was superb, the staff friendly and the food really good.
I'd stopped going to this cafe but the new owners have got the recipe just right. Perfect for Sunday brunch!
