Lovely place, plenty of indoor, outdoor seating.Relaxed atmosphere.Wonderful views of harbour from all directions, great location.

The restaurant is located right at the wharf where we met friends and all 6 of us had dinner. The food was delicious and well presented. We had the Spanish Octopus (real yummy), crab empanadas, Devonport Wharf Fish & Chips, Capricioza and Garlic Pizzas plus drinks. Recommended

Never disappoints with the level of service to the quality of the food & cocktails. Had there big breakfast & the eggs was cooked to my exact liking. Left satisfied & the view/ambiance is unmatched.

Went there for the first time with my pals and the food was amazing!! I enjoyed the lamb so much. The spices, the meat, everything! You wouldn’t believe me if I said cranberry jam was perfect to be pizza topping!
Felix Nicolas Rojas Moreno
Nice place with a great view. But the service isn't the best 🥲
Melanie van Geuns
An excellent Restaurant for a quick wine/beer or for dinner. The staff were very attentive to our groups needs (and we did order a lot of food & drinkies!) I would definitely recommend this gorgeous place & would love to go back again in the future.

Absolutely lovely place for brunch. Excellent service. Yummy food. Great coffee.
Darren Patterson
Had a very nice time here, the location is great, the ambience staff and vibe fit the place so well. We ordered a variety of food to meet our needs and it was executed perfectly, the portions were satisfying and the food was absolutely delicious. 11/10 would recommend, most definitely will come back for seconds

Was almost empty when I was there at night .. great food .. very impressive garlic bread ..

We read the reviews before coming to this place and we did not disappoint. We ordered a Souvlaki open wrap with fried chicken and a Fattouch salad with Chicken skewer. We also ordered a Turkish tea and coffee. The food and drinks were amazing. We loved the view and atmosphere.

Lack of Halal Certified shops. Muslims can not have meal .This is huge loss to local shops and community

Absolutely delicious 😋 pizza & 🍸 cocktails will be back. Just the thing to eat after gng over on the boat. Service amazing too & seated & took order as soon as we @ a table
Michelle Wainhouse
We had our Valentine’s Day dinner here with shared small plates and dessert. The plates were generously portioned and delicious. Staff were very attentive and the location was just right. There is plenty of space on each table so no one was too close. A very pleasant place to have a relaxing meal.

Great place on the water. Had a lamb burger and hand cut fries, a very nice. The Whittaker's hot chocolate was devine. Rug up warm if visiting in cold season, even inside was a little open to the cold wind.

Food quality is awesome. Happy with the service 😊

Pleasant atmosphere, friendly service, and a great place! Our experience at Devon on the Wharf was phenomenal. The waiter was very attentive. The food was cooked perfectly. And you cannot best the wonderful views of the city. I recommend going just before sunset and watching Auckland turn from day to night.

I had a meal here tonight with my friend Onn and it was truely amazing. We enjoyed the Share Platters and the Cocolate Fondant desert. The food was excellent, tasty and beautifully presented. The service was extremely friendly and prompt. There were complimentary dishes included for us and the whole experience including the atmosphere was one of the best I have had in a long time. Will definitely be returning here and recommend it !

We hadn't booked and it was a Saturday evening but they slotted us in without a fuss. Our waiter was excellent; great service and even some advice on menu selections. The only downer was my Turkish coffee, which arrived lukewarm, but when I pointed this out they were straight onto it and brought me a fresh one with no fuss. Pricing was very reasonable, too.
Renée Pritchard
Had the most spectacular customer service here. Not only that, but their Jordanian hummus dish is one of the best things I've ever eaten. 15/10
Ron Hamilton
We had a very good lunch. In company with an active three-year old. The service was very good and also, friendly. We adults enjoyed our food and the ambience. I had the "benny" and judge it to be one of the best I have eaten. Subtle flavours with the eggs being perfect. Will return.
Natasha Rodrigues
Great food and ambience. Great service from our Macedonian waiter + 2 other lovely wait staff. Beautiful presentation, thanks for a great lunch!

Venue looks great, but service is shocking. Came over to Devonport for lunch, this restaurant wasn't even remotely busy, ordered a couple of beers to start, they took ages to come, we drank our beers and still nobody had come to ask us what we wanted to order. Hopeless service, we paid for our beers and went up the road to The Patriot where we got good service. Would not recommend Devon on the Wharf to ANYBODY, not for a casual lunch, not for a function, NOTHING. When we mentioned the lack of service to the maitre'd and even the manager, they didn't even care. Can't imagine they'll be around for long.
Ian Johnson
Great views. The staff is helpful and the food is delicious. Went there after hike and had ice cold beers 🍺 while waiting for ferry.
Lolita Pia Young
A better place to be and have a meal. Ambience is cosy and relaxing with stunning view of Devonport.
Bella Bexy
Great venue. Friendly, professional service. Scrumptious food and it was nice to see real champagne on the drinks list. Our seats were perfect. We had the outdoor heater in the patio area keeping us warm and lovely garden wall to look at and the sound of the waves crashing on the beach in the background made us feel like we were on holiday. Glad I gave Dev On Wharf a second chance they have made alot of worthwhile improvements.
Jason Strange
Great place to relax with breakfast and coffee. We call regular when working in the area.
Dean Kilian
The coffee was lukewarm on arrival. The floor was filthy around us. The staff that were not rude, barely spoke English and things had to be repeated in monosyllables because English was so bad. I’m surprised come back here at all.
Dixon McIver
Great place, great food with great people. I highly recommend it.
Nicola Hunt
What an amazing experience! Mother’s Day roses and bubbles and beautiful food! Lovely staff and atmosphere

I went here with a group of friends for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious. Great service and beautiful decor. Can’t wait for my next visit

You could not ask for better service and food the hole place is just amazing

Went here with my family for my birthday dinner. Service was soo amazing, our server recommended great options for sharing. Got the pizza deal as it was a Sunday, also got the feast, lamb and burger. Place was warm and cozy for a winter szn. Would give 5 stars but the chicken was dry and needs more flavour. Would definitely come back again tho 🤍

Very disappointed with overcooked curly fries. It was like eating oil
Sjaan Welsh
Stunning setting, and great food. It was busy (Saturday night dinner service) but wait times were short. I only wish we’d decided to stay for dessert!
Rosanne Choy
Came in for a birthday dinner tonight with friends. Ordered the curly fries, fattoush pan roasted chicken salad, bodrum sizzler steak, yuzu tonic, tropidelic, grapefruit spritz and hot almond milk. Tropedelic was huge. Portion was the size of a small bowl, very worth if you like alcohol. Curly fries were so crispy and came with tomato sauce and aioli. The salad had a vinegar sauce and was perfect to eat alternating from fries.

This restaurant is so beautiful. You can feel different atmosphere depending on where to sit, by the aisle side with a long seat with square tables, by the window side with round tables, by the drink counter on high chairs, inside the green house on the deck with more sea view.<br/><br/>I found some different shapes & colors of glasses on tables. They are pink, green and blue, so cute!<br/><br/>Is there any meaning for the round mark on the plate and serviette? I wonder.<br/><br/>We tried 2 dishes, 'Feast with Chicken Skewer' and 'Onion Rings'.<br/>I wanted the chicken more succulent. I also felt if the flatbread is warm, much better.<br/><br/>I also wanted the volume of each dish more generous if they cost that much.<br/><br/>The coffee were not hot enough.<br/><br/>What I truly love about this restaurant is their furniture, tableware, plants and views😍

Had brunch here with my family and it was a below average meal. To drink my Mum had a Latte which she said was alright and my brother and I ordered mocktails, I got the "Mango Passion Dream" which was Mango, pineapple, cranberry and mint and my brother had the "Green Goblin Garden" Green Apple, lemongrass, lime juice, apple juice and soda we both found that the mocktails were sooooo sweet and the presentation was not nice at all, I found it so hard to drink as it was just so so sweet that we also got a peppermint tea to drink as the mocktail was way to sweet. To eat I had the "blueberry pancakes" which weren't presented very nicely and the pancake itself was so so dry each one I had was as dry as the one before they were wayyyy too overcooked. My Mum & brother shared a margarita pizza which didn't have much taste and was just a very below average pizza. The atmosphere is nice and all but the food just does not make up for it as everything is so average. I would not recommend coming here.

Had brunch at Devon in the wharf today. The presentation of all the dishes was absolutely stellar (as shown by the photos) but I thought both the taste of the dishes and the service can be a bit better. Firstly, all the dishes came out super fast and we barely had to wait. However as we were seated outside, it was really hard to find someone to top up the water and get more napkins etc. As we were quite a large table it was quite frustrating as they didn’t give us a water jug in the first place. Next, the dishes all looked amazing but I thought they were quite bland. The pulled lamb was also only lukewarm when it came out so it got cold really quickly. I had the haloumi dish. I liked the ingredients but they all felt a little bit separate, it felt like I was eating the haloumi, kale and carrots etc separately and nothing was there to “glue” them together. I also tried the fish and chips. The fish was tasty, but again tasted quite bland and the chips were soggy (maybe because of the salad next to them)... overall I had high expectations of the place and also loved how everything looked, but taste didn’t match up to my expectations and I was left disappointed after the meal.

We had breakfast in Saturday morning, the food is average, but the service and dining atmosphere of Devon on the wharf are awesome! Would like to visit again.

I’ve been this restaurant twice, one with my family and one withy friends. All of us love the restaurant. The location is premium, just on Devonport wharf, which means you can enjoy the sea view and fresh air. Chips from fish n chips with skin on, hand cut and healthy. The Turkish pizza is really recommended. Also they are providing kids activity bag with kid order. It can occupy the kids’ time and give parents a break. But sometimes it rush hour they will offer a bar stool chair and table to those who have young kids. I think it’s bit high for those younger kids. Please make reservation for sofa seat or normal seat if possible.

Absolutely amazing food. Had the fried calamari for a starter and it was one of the best I ever had. My main was the kebab, but the dessert now that was absolutely mind blowing. 11/10 for the chocolate fondant. Definetly will be coming back ❤

Unfortunately didn’t have the meal I ordered but ordered another lovely meal. Once all our food arrived they told my father they had run out of his food. Not when he ordered it but when everyone had already received their food. When queried this with a man I assume was a manager he was very rude. My partners meal was hot on the outside and cold and raw in the middle twice we waited over an hour for it. Then while he was eating they brought out our cake for the birthday person even though he wasn’t finished. Working in hospitality for years. I am baffled about their service. Wouldn’t recommend.

Beautiful location on the wharf with amazing views of the harbour and Auckland city. We had the fish and chips which was okay, but nothing to write home about.

Great location, with a little bit of view of the harbour and the beach. The food wasn't fascinating: fish&chips has too much batter, halloumi salad was very greasy... Coffee was ok.

Whether you dig into “delicious” Kiwi fare while enjoying the “absolutely dreamy” views from the Port“romantic” porches, with “palms swaying above and the iridescence of the waves rolling in”, or devour your “terrific” breakfast buffet, the experience “couldn't be more wonderful”both boast photos of the legendary namesake surfer and “aloha”-spirited service.

Awesome location, we received good service here and food was very nice. We recommend this place. Awesome view of the ocean and Auckland City. :)

Lovely location, vibrant ambience, friendly staff and decent food. My partner and I spent a great afternoon at Devon on the wharf and we'd visit again.

3/01/2019<br/>Will not recommend this to anyone. Chips/fries so damned oily, looks like left over from a month ago. Just about all their food is so damn dry or oily. Appearance is so bloody disgusting. Only the first 2 hrs from opening is fresh, the rest will take you backwards and you will enjoy any food offered at any pub. Bloody sad for an awesome location. Fai hoosi atu.

Absolutely a huge disappointment! We waited for over an hour to get our food, only to find out that the coffee and food were ALL COLD. The eggs Benedict’s were all fully cooked instead of soft poached. <br/><br/>We had to ask the staff to replace our dishes, which they said they were going to remake the Benedict’s for us. They returned our Benedict’s with soft poached eggs BUT on the rest of the plate were with the original food. Although we didn’t eat any of the Benedict’s, but we found the service were absolutely appalling! No cutlery were provided when the food were brought to us. We had to ask 2 different staff to get the cutlery, which they had only brought 4 sets for a total of 11 of us. <br/><br/>No one came to check on us and to ask how was our food. <br/><br/>The most disappointed part was that, no sorry from the staff at all! We even had a couple of the staff rolling their eyes in front of us when we politely sent our food back. <br/><br/>I would not recommend or return to this place at all. Highly disappointed!

The pulled burger came out cold after an hour of wait. Service was average, staff needs a bit more training as I can tell the lady who served us was a bit impatient. Not a good experience after all, definitely not worth my bucks for a cold pulled pork burger.
Alice In New Zealand
Even if we had only coffee here, there were kind and give us good service. We had iced coffee and mocha latte. It was good to take a rest with nice view.
Denise
Came here with some friends for a Sunday lunch. All our food was very tasty and they even had home made fries with the fish and chips. Pizza was nice with thin base, dessert menu wasn't massive but the brownie was very good. Waiter we had was friendly and served everthing in good time, so no complaints there , will be back.

Took my partner here for his birthday and I just don’t get why people like this place. We were met with an icy atmosphere, overpriced drinks and cold toast...not impressed? Only thing that saved this place is the little bakery off to the side (that caramel slice, oh my goodness DELISH)
Marmite_ninja
What a great place for a lazy weekend brunch; sun shine, sea breeze, delicious food and great coffee. Having been here for brunch on several occasions, we can deffinitely recommend this place. Eggs bene is one of the best I've tasted, sprinkling of dates and thinly sliced apple add a little bit of sweetness that I never knew was missing.

Great spot with awesome view and service, huge well made coffees and delicious food. Your biggest problem will be trying to pick what to eat! Highly recommended

I went here with a friend on Saturday. The restaurant is really nice they have a large indoor and outdoor area which is fully heated so you are comfortable no matter where you sit.<br/><br/>The staff are very helpful and friendly as well. Always topping up water, asking if we needed anything without being annoying.<br/><br/>The food was pretty good but nothing special. We shared one of their platters and most of it was nice but the falafal tasted like it was frozen then deep fried and the cold potato dish didnt really taste like anything. The cocktails however were delicious!!!<br/><br/>Would definitely go back for a drink and maybe for dinner to try out their full menu.
Persian Foodie
Very vibrant plates of food and an amazing, peaceful ambience. We came for dinner and ordered the fried chicken small bites, fish and chips and the lamb two ways. The lamb was so flavorful and tender and omg the butternut squash and pulled lamb accompanying it was as equally tasty with complimentary textures. Dishes ranged from $25-60 each and we paid around $82 for all three dishes, but they were still substantial (after the sharing plate, I struggled to finish my main.) I love Mediterranean food and it seemed modernized with a great range to select from! The customer service was very good. The server came to check up on us and advise us of the specials! Also topped up our water multiple times and gave us the jug. I will be back to try their deserts! 👏💙

Devonport is probably my favourite suburb in the North Shore besides Takapuna, my home. It’s such a great place to go for a walk, stroll around the quaint town and have brunch. Right smack in Devonport Wharf is the aptly named Devon On The Wharf. We’ve been here a couple of times so I’ve tested this place out.
Bella Luv Food
Friendly staffs and lovely atmosphere are the first two things that I noticed about this place. However the food is very moderate. Both of bakery counter and food from the menu are basic and tasted fine but nothing really special. The price for the food on the menu was also a little bit high but easy to understand as the location is in Devonport. <br/>
Good Food Lover
This place has amazing food and amazing view. I had 3 ways lamb, chicken salad and deconstructed tiramisu. All three dishes were amazing. The staff is very friendly. Must visit.
Leonie
Overpriced <br/><br/>Fantastic location, who could complain about being seaside? Lovely staff with great personalities who made the experience more worthwhile; cannot fault them. <br/><br/>I had the pleasure of ordering the Souvlaki which was delicious although the pork belly was a bit over cooked and dry. This was over priced for a dish which was essentially a piece of bread with some mesclun and pork. You’d expect all the elements to be well thought out and cohesive, unfortunately it just didn’t match the price point.<br/><br/>My partner had the Breakfast in Turkey which although he loved the food itself the platter portions were not in proportion to the $32 price point that we were charged. He ordered the bacon as extra ($6) and two measly pieces were added to the plate.<br/><br/>My younger sister had the pancakes, she said they were the best she’d ever had so no complaints there.<br/><br/>The food is good however not worth the amount that is charged, you are definitely paying for the location here in my opinion. Would potentially come back for dinner, probably during the summertime when it would be most worthwhile.

I have eaten steak at a lot of restaurants and feel that what I got for $40 was a Little on the high side to put things politely. I did have the chocolate brownie which was amazing and would definitely come back for that but I’d pass on the steak next time

Really enjoyed our lunch here today! Photos don’t do it justice but I had the bruschetta and my boyfriend had the crab cakes. The halloumi was a little rubbery but still pretty good! would have liked a third crab cake instead of just two purely for the price but it was really yum!

Let me start by saying the staff were so very friendly and helpful. Their bright smile and kind nature made even a cold night feel warm. <br/><br/>They environment was very green and fresh- something I prefer anytime. It was decorated beautifully with the right amount of plants and light wicker furniture. The cushions gave it a homely feel. <br/><br/>My partner and I ordered a platter, drinks, 1 starter and one dessert. I have to be honest; it felt and looked like a lot of food but I felt the prices were a bit too high for the food provided. Basically, I’ve been to a few countries and tried their foods as well- and the food that I tasted tonight didn’t have an ounce of Turkish flavour. I may have felt the difference more because I have tried the real thing before. This may be different for people who are trying it for the first time. The dineware looked more authentic then the food. I’m not criticising but I didn’t taste anything except for normal dips, store bought olives, boiled potatoes and roasted eggplant. <br/><br/>A further suggestion that I’d like to add- your restaurant is in a great spot, you have very lovely staff and the environment is very welcoming; try to add the “Turkishness” into the food.

Its my first time visit . Staff are welcome. I ordered crab fritter curly fries my friend ordered creamy mushroom . All amazing. I will try dinner next time.
D-E@T’s
They catered for Mother’s Day surprising mums with roses and a glass of wine. Good selection on their Mother’s Day menu. Lovely and very attentive wait staff. Food was good but lacked that little bit extra in quantity and flavour.

Very nice ambience, great service. A perfect place for brunch. Food is tasty. I liked the presentation. Had a great time. Good place to relax and enjoy the meal.

I picked this restaurant hoping to see the beautiful harbour view. Unfortunately it was raining that night. We were welcomed and seated by friendly staff. This place was full at that night, almost all tables were occupied. I'm glad I made a booking prior coming. Food came pretty quite despite the amount of people they had. Presentation was attractive and food are tasty. I wish they could have more options for dessert. Hope to come back again to enjoy the view.

Been there with group of friend. Didnt like the food. Very tastless . All i tasted was muscalan with balsamic . I have tried my friends dishes too. Not much interest. You could fine al lot of better places out there with the same price

Really lovely place! Love the deco and the service! Happy staff! Food was amazing! Interesting, but amazing! Would highly recommend! Would definitely go again!
Donald Tracey Murray
Fantastic venue, and outlook. Service was excellent. Came here for Breakfast. Coffee was perfect. I had French toast which was beautifully made and presented and my wife had eggs Benedict with a potato Rosti which she loved. Menu includes Turkish dishes. We will be back sometime to try a lunch.
Stephan
Terrible service. The guy who looks like the manager or the owner here doesn't care about anything. Very grumpy and rude. Never go back again. The other staff were friendly.
Kylie McIntyre
Wasn't planning on eating here, so glad we did! The whole experience was amazing.  Handy location right on Devonport Wharf. From the moment we walked in the staff were very friendly and attentive.<br/><br/>I had the Fish & Chips, Husband had the Chicken Souvlaki. (Said it was one of the nicest things he has eaten in a long time) Asahi on Tap is a bonus too :)<br/>Would highly recommend, we will definitely be back

Excellent location, friendly staff, great food but<br/>service was slow. We had a function and pre-ordered our food however the service was still slow and disorganised. Tried Prawn cocktails, Three Cheese Tortellini, Lamb Rack, Chocolate Fondant, Tiramisu and Devon Sundae. The food was well-presented and delicious although the spiced yoghurt overpowered the taste of the lamb and vegetables. I reckon the chocolate fondant was the highlight out of all the dishes I tried, very rich and decadent chocolate dessert. Stunning views from the restaurant and very accessible in the ferry station. Just to make a point on how slow the service was, our table was served dessert around 9:45pm. However, we will still come back for the quality of food and nice settings.
Luke Bilbrough
Just outstanding, as soon as I walked in the waitress smiled and we knew we were in good hands. It was my girlfriends birthday and the crew at Devon on the Wharf made her feel so special.<br/><br/>We were recommended the pulled lamb and the Turkish pizza and both were 10/10 in freshness and taste.<br/><br/>To top it off the staff brought out a brownie with ice cream and a candle and sang happy birthday!<br/>We need more people like these guys in out city.<br/><br/>Absolutely will recommend to my friends and family.<br/>Keep up the good work!!
Kakak
Nice environment, but lack of staffs, extra waiting time to be served. The starters come in large size .The lamb dolma is nice. Won't order mussels again .

Cost: Affordable for a delicious and fancy-ish meal<br/>Food: 4.5/5<br/>Experience / vibe: 4.5/5<br/>Decor: 5/5<br/>Customer service: 4.5/5<br/>Service speed: 3.5/5<br/>Food presentation: 5/5<br/><br/>Highlights: The Devon Platter! Wonderful selection of fine flavours! The location is stunning with beautiful views of the city. Perfect for a first date! or if you're visiting Auckland
Jammie-Lea Wilson
I went here for a coffee after running half a marathon so didn't eat, others ordered food and it looked so delicious and great sizing portions. The whitikkas hot chocolate was amazing and hit all the spots.
Oksana Zhang
We got the Fattoush Salad of slow-cooked lamb and their Mama's Dolma with chicken. <br/>For drinks we got the Power Granate smoothie and a apple juice. <br/><br/>By the time we dug into the dishes it was already cold, so the fat on the lamb had already started to solidify, texture was therefore a bit iffy. The Lamb itself was cooked nicely, soft and falling apart. Would've preferred more flavours though. <br/><br/>I loved the presentation of the Mama's Dolma; it also looked really nice, with rice inside the capsicum. I didn't get to try it though but I would get it next time! <br/><br/>The interior decor is absolutely beautiful.<br/><br/>Price: 9/10<br/>Food: 8/10<br/>Ambience: 10/10<br/>Service: 9/10
OD
The place has a wonderful setting with a nice view which is the main strength of the place, the service is friendly and nice.<br/><br/>Food taste is good but not amazing and more on the salty side I have noticed that on 3 dishes ( I never usually complain from salt ).<br/><br/>The food variety on the menu is not huge but the used ingredients are good.<br/><br/>I would say the place is overpriced for the food quality but this is offset by the location.<br/><br/>If they do a menu reshape and improve some recipes they definitely have a bigger potential.<br/><br/>I will go back again but probably for coffee and breakfast not lunch or dinner.<br/><br/>One last request , the place has a decent size and is priced on the high side thus it should have it's own toilet and not depend on the main toilet (if not possible providing more care for the main toilet and a refurbishment) would be a good idea.<br/><br/>Nice place overall a bit overpriced for the quality of taste.
Michelle
Went here back in January after being quite excited about a new restaurant in Devonport and left pretty disappointed.  The food is ok but the service was awful, one of our party sent back their beef cheeks because they were cold, simply asking for them to be reheated and the manager (?) came back stating 'they were cooked for 7 hours, what more do you expect from us' because the server had miscommunicated that we had said they weren't cooked.  No issues with hiring ESOL servers, most European servers are better than Kiwis, but before coming back on the offence it would pay to check nothing has been misunderstood.  It then took close to 20mins for this dish to be reheated.<br/>I returned for a drink a couple of months later and was served a gin and soda rather than the gin and tonic I had ordered.  <br/>I hope they improve because it really is a stunning spot but I won't be returning.
Anna
Velvety flat white. I only had time for a quick coffee stop but will be coming back for a proper meal next time. The setting is beautiful! Right on the waterfront but sheltered away from the weather. The restaurant is decorated with light blue and neutral tones setting up a very relaxing atmosphere. Service was good.

They're a fussy bunch in my family - two coeliacs, a vegetarian, a five-year-old, and two nonagenarians with small appetites and traditional tastes, plus a handful of 'normal' people! We've had a few nights out turn into disasters as a result, so I booked Devon on the Wharf with a measure of trepidation, but I needn't have worried. The mezze platter we ordered on arrival was customised to accommodate the coeliacs, while still offering plenty to please the rest of the party. (Best hummus I've ever tasted!)The five-year-old was provided with the best activity bag I've seen anywhere, having been chosen from the  four different themed bags on offer. Her meal, and her fancy looking orange juice were both big hits, and arrived very promptly, just ahead of everyone else's mains. Between us we managed to sample a wide selection of both the food and the drinks on offer, and every one of us was happy with the choices we made. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, the big heaters kept the veranda area where we were seated very warm on a chilly night, and in the end our only regret was that no one had room for dessert. But I guess that means we'll just have to go back...
CocoOnFire
Had a nice morning coffee on Sunday morning, this is a place to go no matter summer or winter, sitting outdoor but still under cover with the sun shinning above you, friendly service as usual.

FINALLY! Devonport has got a restaurant with style, delicious food and staff with smiles that never seem to go away.<br/>Had the crispy chicken souvlaki for lunch, teeming with flavour and colour.<br/>Will definitely come back more often :-)
Jeanne De Villiers
We came for lunch today and the new menu was awesome! I had the slow cooked lamb burger. The flavors were really well balanced and the feel of the place was amazing. Definitely a must do

I tried just get a flat white take away from new fresh restaurant after 3:30 pm. I was told I need to wait a while because several people already waiting for their drink, so I said OK. I was looking a guy making coffee looks very busy, so i thought he must have good experience to making good coffee. I WAS WRONG. I am a coffee lover. A small size flat white $4.5 was very very milky and I can't taste coffee. I didn't order hot milk. It was very disappointment. It's just a flat white for the restaurant. However I felt I did't get anything for my $4.5. I didn't spend much for meals this time, but I don't want to come back for meals if you can't make a proper flat white.
Shireen Prasad
Beautiful location but sadly food was a disappointment. Turkish / middle eastern food that was screaming for flavour. Very bland. Had the lamb wrap and the baked eggs. Even the table next to us requested for some sauce for the lamb wrap as it was dry and needed some kind of punch. Service needs to be improved too.
Thegreeats
Slow to seat us, take our menu, give us water and cutlery. We stood for a good 2mins just waiting to be seated and acknowledged <br/>Very understaffed for a mothers day dinner<br/>But the food was alright, beef cheek was cooked beautifully and was soft. Loved the butternut puree but questions about the mascapone - got too rich<br/>The chicken dish was alright too- resembled a couscous salad w chicken <br/>The calamari was bomb! Would come back just for that<br/>The lovely waitor who took our photos was very friendly<br/>The lady who seemed like the manager was attentive but didnt get friendly vibes<br/>But thank you for the dessert that was served for free! That was a nice touch as restaurants dont often do that<br/>So basically, could work on service and seating people down quickly and greeting them<br/>But lovely interior and vibes! Can see it will be lovely in summer

While strolling with friends after dinner, we landed in this place for dessert on my marriage anniversary. It was late and this place was going to close in 20 minutes. In spite of this, we were served so well. We ordered for Whittaker's Hot Chocolate and Cushala (the staff member) made the evening special for us. She also recommended us to try Baklava which was so delicious and neatly presented that none of us will ever forget. Overall, a great place and amazing ambience.

Two of us called in for lunch on a Saturday about 1.00 pm. Restaurant was just over half full and we were seated promptly - however that was the last time the service was prompt or we received any proactive attention as customers!<br/><br/>It is a great location on the Devonport wharf and has a good menu based around Middle Eastern dishes. We each ordered a fish wrap (which were good value and tasty) and a glass of quality wine. <br/><br/>Looking at reviews over the past four months the service has been a problem and we have to say this has not improved - it was necessary to get the attention of a waiter and then it took 15 minutes for the glasses of wine to be delivered (we had to again point out to a nearby waiter who was gazing into space that the wine had been sitting on the bar for several minutes ) and a further ten minutes for the wraps to arrive. Wanting to finish with an Apple tea and a Pomegranate tea  we once again had to get the attention of another waiter  to take our tea order. <br/><br/>The problem seems to be inept organisation - staff do not seem to have allocated areas of responsibility in the restaurant and the whole approach to waiting tasks seems to be random.<br/><br/>This could be a very good addition to the Devonport scene but is probably becoming organizationally lazy as hordes of tourists off cruise ships keep them busy over the summer.<br/><br/>I hope they pick up their game and will try them again in a couple of months to see if they have become more professional.

Excellent all round. Attentive waitress, great location & our meals exceeded expectations and were delicious. I'll come back for sure. Apparently I have to fill 140 characters , how dumb is that?

5 stars for the view, the sound of the sea washing in was the best this meal got. The service was friendly but odd, we were left for a long time then a long wait for the first course. The shared platter was lack luster, whilst the hummus and labneh were outstanding, the taramasalata was a cream cheese mush. Just don't do it - if you can't get roe don't do it, seriously. The what I assume was borakas were deep fried - a horrible thing to do to filo pastry, turns it into greasy bar snack food. For main I had the lamb rack. Cooked very well, pink juicy and tender. The vegetables yum and served with the great labneh and then utterly ruined by the foulest glue masquerading as gravy - guys open a different packet. Or even better do a jus or red wine reduction. I mean why???? How disappointing this glorious site deserves food to match, and I know their other restaurants are good, please bring that standard here.

I went here with my boyfriend's family because we had heard it was good. Beautiful views and decent service but the food was incredibly oily and a bit flavourless. All of us felt extremely ill for hours after eating here so I wouldn't come back or recommend it.

The food was amazing. Who would've thought that salmon and licorice would go so well together. Pavlova was a work of art and very tasty. The service was very good Will definitely return.<br/><br/>So we came back as promised and again were very happy with the food and service. Had the sirloin this time. Yum. Not enough room for dessert but our friends who ordered them were very impressed.

Came here for dinner as everywhere else was packed. The place is beautiful, lovely decor and it is very spacious. But we did not love the service. We were not given a cocktail menu, I had to go to the bar and ask for one (the bartender was awesome). The waiter took too long to come back to us, even though it wasn't busy- we frequently saw them standing together chatting at the till. My main was too expensive for what was on the plate. We waited 20 minutes after finishing our mains before our waiter came back. Multiple waiters looked at our table and saw we were finished and waiting. Once we got our deserts they were great, lots of effort went into them. Don't think I will be back in a hurry though.

◻Great Spot<br/>◻Plenty of Seating<br/>◻Average coffees<br/><br/>Updated review 12/12/2017<br/>We went in for my work lunch, it was amazing<br/>Service was spot on, super chilled and friendly<br/>Damm the food is tasty and the desserts (i highly recommend the baklava)<br/><br/>Will be going there a lot I think 👍👍👍😉<br/><br/>The coffee shop is in a perfect location, right on the wharf, with sea views.<br/><br/>There is a selection of good indoor and outdoor seating and its clean its fresh looking<br/><br/>We ordered a couple of coffees and icecreams for the kids. The coffees were ok, not bad but not great<br/><br/>The staff seemed to be having a bad time of it, not friendly at all. Normally this would put me off but watching how rude customers were in the very small queue to the staff made me sympathetic. Always amazes me how impatient people here can be (3 minute wait)<br/><br/>So I will definitely go back, and re review<br/><br/>

译文<br/>This is a very nice restaurant, pure and fresh style.<br/>At night you can see the lights of the city. <br/>Food was great, had beef cheek and a chicken dish both really good, but I think the best thing is the mussel, will back again.

Great service and wonderful atmosphere. Food was superb and very satisfying. Great portion sizes as well. Only thing that lets it down is the lack of toilets - you have to use the ones in the ferry terminal.

Absolutely love it the service is superb and they really know how to look after you. The food is absolutely delicious and highly recommend. We had lunch and will definitely be going back. Very authentic.<br/>

Wow - I went to Devon on the Wharf twice this week - all I can say is WOW - first the decor is stunning, fresh, different and has a tropical/turkish/bohemian/plantation feel . <br/>The staff are friendly and my coffee was served immediately - loved the coffee so ordered another. <br/>Today I was there for a breakfast meeting and ordered poached eggs on gluten free bread - it was perfect and again the coffee was stunning.    <br/>Devon on the Wharf is going to be my local!!!    I  LOVED the style and feeling when sitting in the cafe.  Thank you for providing a stylish & fresh cafe in Devonport.  It was SO needed.   I am discerning in how I live and to go to one of the many "nothing" cafe's in Devonport had a lot to be desired.      Kathy

Incredible location, lovely decor. A starter of oysters was enjoyable and a decent wine list but unfortunately that is where it ended. Service was slow and not very knowledgable. We shared the harissa prawns and scallops which did not seem fresh. One scallop looked as though it might have been through a tenderiser. The sauce was very over powering, not on spice but richness and sweetness. This place has all the potential to be one of the shores leading spots. Hopefully they can get it right!

With plans to go and see the Dragon Poi fire show in Devonport, our thoughts turned to where to have dinner beforehand. We’d heard whispers of a brand new opening right on the wharf so it seemed the perfect place to have dinner before the show. The major selling point of Devon on the Wharf is this fantastic view. Situated right inside the ferry terminal, you are rewarded with stunning views of the Auckland skyline.

This place has amazing view and cool decor. Ordered Apple Turkish Tea, Blueberry Pancakes, Fattoush Salad with Lamb Shoulder, Dolma with Chicken, and Classic Benedict with Mushroom for lunch yesterday. As we never been to Turkey or Mediterranean before, so we don't know how authentic the dishes are, BUT the presentation, the taste, and the flavour are very good (for us anyway).<br/><br/>According to our experience yesterday lunchtime, the only downside is the service. It takes a while for someone to take the order, no server (or waiter) seems to care how the diners are doing. I know it was busy but it looks like it was quite chaotic.<br/><br/>Anyway, we will come back to try their dinner menu (when it is not soooooo busy).

A cafe with a quintessentially British name, in a tropical Bahamian style, with a Turkish menu which tastes very Kiwi......wow!  It is an amazing new space, and finally Devonport finally has it's own waterfront cafe (actually over the water). It is beautifully presented and definitely a popular new spot. I was expecting to see Devonshire tea on the menu, but instead saw a Turkish bent to the menu which is awesome, although the fish souvlaki I was looking forward to so much looked and tasted like a fish taco. The service was spot on and we had a great time, so we will definitely return next time we are in Devonport!
Petra
Loved it! Apart from the obviously amazing views and the cool decor, the service was good and the food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the haloumi and flat bread (great haloumi), courgettes with whipped feta (incredible!!!! Soooo tasty) and a souvlaki each. Can't wait to go back! It's one of my new faves.

Lovely place right on the wharf, chic interior with some real cool eclectic clutter. Service is excellent, friendly and knowledgeable and the views......<br/>Add to this the people watching possibilities from all the ferry users and you're in a good space. Then comes the food. Frankly I'd give all of the above up just to be able to stuff myself with the food! Beautifully presented delicious wholesome gorgeousness. If you go for breakfast try the potato roti it's blissful with a perfect poached egg and smokey bacon. The draft beer is yum too.

Dinner with my wife here last night, overall the food was very good. Calamari main was very tender and well flavoured. The beef cheek was a solid potion slow cooked to pull apart with a great gravy and mash on the side to compliment it. Also had the falafel dish as a side, falafel was slightly on the dry side. Took a while to have our orders taken, however the staff were friendly. Overall would come here again, good size portions and delicious food, just need the staff to be slightly more attentive.

We went to Devon on the Wharf today (Friday) at lunchtime.  It was reasonably busy.  Very pleasant room, nice friendly staff and plenty of them.  However, they seemed disorganised and working quite chaotically.  Not a good idea when using an open kitchen to have the chef(?) or compiler of dishes rubbing her nose, coughing, and placing food on plates with fingers.  I'm sure this happens behind the scenes but it certainly doesn't look all that flash when it's so exposed.  Maybe she should have been wearing gloves but she wasn't.  The chips were good, the grilled Haloumi was good though it did seem fried rather than grilled.  The soft shell crab was deep fried and quite revolting.   It should be noted on the menu that this dish is deep fried because it came as a shock.  The wine was good.   The staff could back off a bit and not keep asking for reassurance that the food is wonderful.   Don't think I would go there again unless it was just for a drink.

Have just had my Birthday Lunch and it was lovely. When I rang this morning and spoke to Stella I said I wanted to reserve a table for my birthday lunch and could she make sure I had sunshine- well guess what I did have sunshine and a lovely greeting on arrival it was so nice. We all enjoyed our meals very much and the staff were very friendly . We will be going again that is for sure.

Visited last week for the first time with clients and all thoroughly impressed. The decor, ambience and warmth are wonderful and the service exceptional. We enjoyed great coffees and muffins this time, but look forward to returning for lunch and dinner - the menu looks delicious varied and original.

Stunning. Ordered seafood platter, fillet, chicken tagine and all the deserts on the menu. All were outstanding. Super atmosphere and outstanding service. A great addition to Devonport. Highly recommended.

Excellent service, very nice presentation and food test, very vibrant environment and i love the interior.<br/>Coffee is very nice but they don't have many options for vegetarian. Please add some vegetarian food, I love to come again.

So great to finally have a nice restaurant in Devonport. The decor is lush with a beautiful view and the food is awesome and the staff are lovely. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location, amazing decorations, great vibe, real authentic  feel, aided with details like the blue decorated water glasses, the pretty tea pots and the striking metal ware.<br/><br/>Unfortunately, our very simple order of a tea, coffee and a gin-tonic took 1) very long to arrive, 2) arrived in three batches, 3) the water glasses from previous customers were not cleaned up until after our order had finally arrived and after we asked for them to be replaced.<br/><br/>Impressed with almost everything, especially the amazing chocolate brownie, but the service was unfortunately a big let-down.

Breakfast was disappointing here. The poached eggs with tomatoes, capsicum and onions sounded tempting but the eggs were so undercooked that they ran into the other liquid on the plate and I did not eat it. I mentioned this to the waitress and I was not charged for it so that was good. <br/><br/>I ordered a date scone to replace it, but it was tasteless. The coffee was very average and the hot water to accompany the long black was served in a cute glass but it was very hot to touch. <br/><br/>The service was poor with inexperienced staff which were being told what to do by the senior waitress. <br/><br/>The ambience of the restaurant is wonderful, set on the wharf. Light and bright decor. Hope they can improve the standard of the food. <br/>

Booked a table in advance for Saturday night. We arrived about 10 minutes early and our table wasn't ready yet so we were directed wait at the bar; only there was absolutely no room to squeeze in anywhere near the bar. So we were left awkwardly standing in the middle of the restaurant for the following 10'minutes. I understand it's a very busy time for this new restaurant however this was quite unsettling and off putting as a first impressions. <br/><br/>Once seated it took staff about 10 minutes to ask if we were ready to order any drinks, which we were. It then felt like a further long 10-15 minutes to receive our drinks order. At this point we were feeling somewhat neglected and becoming impatient. We could also see meals being left on the server without a heat lamp for long periods of time so we were nervous about the quality of food we were about to order. Staff were obviously very busy and unable to keep up with the demands. <br/><br/>However once our dinner order arrived we were relieved to find that the food was hot, presented well and delicious with nil complaints or concerns. The menu has a good variety and prices as expected. The food was most definitely the saving grace of our night. <br/><br/>We will return to Devon on the wharf, perhaps in a few months time when the hype of a new restaurant dies down, at this time we hope to feel more welcome with receiving a higher standard of customer service.

This is a newly opened restaurant and I'm sure it will soon be a part of Auckland's elite list. <br/><br/>With a classy view from the Devonport wharf and a well thought of architecture makes this place very fascinating in terms of the location and the seating etc.<br/><br/>The food is superb and you can sense that the chefs are not afraid to experiment with how the dishes are put together. The results of course are positive.<br/><br/>We ordered a couple of mains and desserts and loved every bit of it. Memorable experience overall.<br/><br/>P.s - staff are friendly and very courteous. <br/><br/>I'll be back here again 👍🏼<br/>

Had dinner date night here on Friday with my partner. Very lively and pleasant atmosphere. Blown away by the portions of food we ordered. Worth your dollars and staff were very attentive :) just a bit disappointed that the cocktail menu wasn't available at the time but overall definitely revisiting this place

Very pleasantly situated at the entrance to the wharf. Called in late on Thursday for a cup of coffee, a mochachino in a takeaway container Whittaker chocolate, pot of tea, and a latte, they said that they didn't have any slices. When the drinks came they weren't very hot. When we were asked if everything was okay I told them that we thought all the drinks weren't hot enough and I was offered another one which I declined as I only have 1 coffee a day. The waiter brought us a big container of Turkish delight which was very nice. It could be the fact that it was more a restaurant than a cafe, but Corellis up the street are very accommodating. We won't be in a hurry to return<br/><br/>17.11.06 <br/>Well, true to my word we returned. <br/>This time was greeted by a friendly young man, and placed our orders, did mention about our drinks from last time. They duly arrived nice and hot. So well done Devon
