My favourite restaurant in NZ. L all food well prepared and marinated beet is the best. Enjoy eating beet with white kimchi and seaweed soup wid kimchi goes crazy. Drink Sikhye! So cool!!

The food is very good. Fresh and well prepared. The grounds are pleasant to stroll around in after the sumptuous meal. It's a smorgasbord so be careful not to over do it.

Hidden away in the country this restaurant is a delightful and interesting excursion from the normal city establishments. Set in a lovely garden -great for a family night out especially in the summer . Food is buffet style and good selection of mainly Korean dishes but enough choice for Europeans too. Korean beer and wine available. Family run for many years and great people. Always welcoming.

For me as a Korean, love the food. I can't see that much seafood though, enough for satisfying my tummy. Staffs were kind but we went the last time of Saturday some food were not almost gone. Still I love this place. The place is lovely.

Just a quick disclaimer, if you live in Auckland, this place is like almost a 40 min drive, it's out in Drury, but if you don't mind the drive, I think it's worth it. It's actually located on an apple orchard, as the name says. Family owned business, and they've been doing this for a very long time, and we've been going for a good few years, and their food quality hasn't changed much, which is really hard to do in the restaurant business. This is buffet style dining, there are two time slots which I believe are 5.30 - 7.30 and 7.30 onwards, and it's usually packed for both time slots so you need to book. As for the choices of food, there are some cool things on here, like marinated raw crabs, cold noodles, good amount of punch and fruit salad as well if you're into it. But the main attraction is definitely the short ribs, they are amazing. If you've ever had Korean BBQ you'd know that short ribs is often one of the stars along with pork belly, here, there is a seasoned barbecue professional cooking it outside by the masses over charcoal, and that is ALL he does all night, so you know they care about how this tastes. I would go there just for the short ribs, and they are high in demand even on the buffet line, so go in, get your ribs eat, and repeat, until you are full!

Excellent authentic Korean food if I didn't know I would think I was in Korea. The barbecue meat is the best I've had in NZ. Really great kimchee. Worth the drive.

The best Korean restaurant in Auckland, New Zealand that I have ever tried! Highly recomend! Try one, two, three times or more with your friends or family. The price is very reasonable comepare with any other kiwi, european restaurant! You can have lots of foods and beverage by unlimited with only $30 for each person. I’ll definitely go there again someday.

Came here for the first time for dinner , wasn’t expecting too much for a buffet style but exceeded my expectations, really enjoyed it was fresh and tasty will definitely go back.

Place is small for a buffet restaurant but very secluded for a yummy meal with some friends. Not much variety but i had meals i never tried before like the raw crab in chilli sauce, my favourite. Id recommend for something different for a view and drive.

This is literally middle of nowhere but such a quaint place. And the food! Ooh lala! The beef was just melt in your mouth good. This is the place to be for Korean buffet.
Lovely service, relaxing ambience.

I have been a regular customer here for many years and their service and quality of food has never changed! always up to standards! Delicious authentic korean food with lovely environment.
Food?
Definitely a hidden gem. The buffet is only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Bit of a drive for people on the North Shore, but surely worth it. Has a variety of Korean food, with side dishes. Highlight would be the marinated beef ribs cooked over coal flame, spicy marinated pork and marinated fresh crab. Price of $30 is definite value for money. Perfect for a special occasion with the family.

Best place for me, the meat lovers. 15 mins drive from Manukau, traditions Korean BBQ that you don’t have to worry about BBQ it urself. Bring my workmate there once then become our party place every time. Always needs to book. Cheap beer as well so make sure u r not the sober driver :D

Overall the staff is friendly and the food was nice. The variety is limited. If you don’t eat raw crab or kimchi or you are vegetarian then you basically only can eat just the few things. The price per pax is 30nzd. That is really pricy but another side of the coin by considering the location and no other better Korean restaurant. That might be appreciated as a good buffet option for the locals. Same as other review, the dessert and drinks basically left the customer no choice. Quite interesting as an Apple orchard I would expect they have more Apple made dessert at least make it more relevant to the business.

If you are looking for good Korean food, this is worth the trip. Their galbi is cooked fresh and tastes great! Also, there was kimchi jeon, kimbap, japchae, muscles, seasoned pork, and a variety of side dishes. I just wish there were more dessert options. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Friendly staff , it was our first time trying Korean cuisine and it was a great experience, was definitely a busy night as it was packed with a lot of people but it was a great atmosphere to be in .

Food - 4.5
Yummy galbi (beef bbq) and sikhae (rice drink)!
Spicy pork was too spicy for me.
Their version of sushi and sashimi were okay.
Radish roll is another must-try
Service - 4.0
Friendly and smiley wait staff. Probably because they are relatives of the owners.
Ambiance - 4.5
Nice to eat at a relaxing setting. My 11-month old son had a blast crawling and walking around the orchard.
Cleanliness - 4.0
Price - 4.0
One of only few restos which provide complimentary fizzy drinks.

Will definitely go back there for more tender and flavorful galbi! First time there and was pleasantly surprised. Fresh bbq beef and spicy pork. Everything looks good and taste great. Dessert is a let down. But was clean and friendly staff. Would go again.

A tuck away secluded retreat in the rural setting of Drury. Easily missed along the forlorn drive if not for an erected signpost.

Kinda surprised by the huge crowd filling out the every table inside the building. Is it because of the continuous downpour or is it being Fathers Day, no idea. Not a soul sitting outside. Luckily we have an earlier booking for the early session.

The management doesn't practiced 'pay before you eat' policy, so it's pretty chaotic when everyone rushes and crowd around the cashier's checkout, all wanting to settle their bills when the session is about to end. Dishonest customers can easily just sneaked off without paying.

Food comprises mostly of greens. Food is continuously replenished, so keep the mongrel dog instinct at bay.
Mysteriously missing from the menu are the mussel and the prawn. Am I being shortchanged or have all the fishermen struck Lotto and gone into retirement, I dunno.

Those having a sweet tooth will be in for a surprise as they only have cupcake which is no larger than a 20 cent coin as well as another painfully minute kinda biscuit.

Not much variety in drinks as limited to 2 bottles of soft drink, a fruit punch and a rice drink.

Fruit? Zippo, nada, nothing.

Beverage-wise, no tea or coffee to conjure your barista skill except for the ready 3 -in-1 coffee satchel and tiny paper drinking cup, so take it or leave it.

Overall the food is superb but not over the moon, especially the marinated grilled beef.

Kudos to the friendly service which is second to none, especially the busy boss who takes the extra mile to be our photographer.

We have been visiting this place since forever. Food quality is very good despite being a buffet. Especially recommend their BBQ steak which is super sweet and juicy since they were marinated in apple sauce. Spicy pork and prawns are good too.

However, the price of this place has definitely increased so much in the past 2 years that it is only worth it if you are a big meat eater. They could also definitely do with more variety in the desserts section.

They have a beautiful garden area, that is perfect for relaxing and photography.

Honestly, giving this place a 5 out of 5 because it's such a pleasant surprise to have a Korean BBQ out of nowhere! Service is so good! With food always being refilled so there is no need to worry or pile up on food! Everyone is friendly and well mannered.

Make sure to call beforehand as their have limited opening days and different seatings. Best after a day trip on the way home.

The marinated beef is BBQed outside then brought in. One of the best beef ever!!!!!! Everything from the chap Chae (starch noodles) to the cold crabs and kimchi pancakes are delicious! Even their mini sushis!! They have a good variety of food, enough to keep you full and happy.

Everything is clean and they even have a big garden outside where I saw many kids running around at.

At the end, there is also Korean instant coffee outside to end the great dinner. At $30, may sound pricy but for the quality, I think it's worth it.

I was way too excited to eat that I totally forgot to take photos! You'll have to go see for yourself.

We've been to Apple Orchard a couple of times, but still couldn't remember its exact location. We didn't miss it, thanks to the big apple sign at the entrance of the driveway. Its rectangular dining area looks more like a canteen with about 30 small tables. Food is on one side along the wall. It's both fully-licensed (with limited choice) & BYO.
Beers were icy-cold & good for the warm summer days. It must be quite a popular eatery, but most of the customers were Koreans. There was a good variety of Korean food. Beef spare-ribs (which I reckon a bit tough) & 2 different crabs seemed the most popular.
N.B. It only opens for dinners on Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
(Food - 3/5; Ambience - 2.5/5)

A really lovely Korean Buffet place in Drury

My family really enjoyed coming here to eat and I agree. It's about a 40 min drive from Auckland City and they have two set times - 5:30 to 7:20 and 7:30 - 9:20pm. You have to make sure you book well in advance to not be disappointed and they don't mind if you arrive early to sit down or even look around the place. They have quite a selection of foods including lots of vegetarian options and they refill really fast. The highlight is the beef ribs which are grilled outside with their apple tree branches, it tastes really good! They also have noodles in bowls that you add broth to which is quite refreshing and plain so not as heavy and oily as the other foods. Along with the main foods, they have little cakes and apple slices for dessert as well as rice water and very sweet fruit juice.

Picture:
- Selection of foods including vegetables wrapped in vinegar radishes, glass noodles, vegetarian sushi, tempura vegetables/fish, spicy bulgogi, little sashimi with rice, fried chicken and beef ribs with some rice water and noodles

The food is really good, service is lovely and fast. Some critics I have is that they have a coupon card (eat there 10 times and get 1 free sort of thing) and we had 9 people but they only gave us 2 stamps because we split the bill in half so apparently it's a stamp per pay which sucked for us cause if we knew that, we would have all paid for ourselves to get 1 stamp each. The price ($30 per person) is a little steep for somewhere so far from the city but will definitely come back as great selection of food.

I heard about this place thru a buddy of mine. It's only open on Fri - Sun in the evenings 5-7 and 7-9ish. I heard thru others it was difficult to get a booking so get it early
I did a recon earlier in the week to get my bearings right. I think the owners son thought I was casing the place for a "break in" The sign on the main rd is well lit at night so you shouldn't miss it. The drive way is narrow and the parking is the rear of the buildings.
It looks like the building must of been part of the original packing/process plant for the orchard. It is quaint and quite homely what they have done to it. Some real nice motherly touches have gone into the entrance.
We were politely greeted and asked for our booking and seated in make shift seating area by the bar. There were large groups of diners and place was packed. I noted there were lots of Korean patrons so that was a good sign. There were also a lot of Filipinos so the pork dishes must be good...lol. I think the dishes were conservatively spiced to appease the kiwi's. The spicy Korean pork and the chargrilled beef spare ribs were awesome. What surprised me was the wonderful and varied pickled vege dishes offered. The noodle dishes were impressive too. I love this place and we promised ourselves we wouldn't gorge ourselves but it was like being at a wedding banquet. The place is a happy place with nice happy cheerful diners eating beautiful food and enjoying the company of their friends n family, the kids running around playing in the dark using their cell phones as torches was real cute.
After dining we sat outside in the chill of the night sipping complimentary 3in1 coffee. I struck up a conversation with the man on the grill cooking up the meat on charcoal bbq. He wasn't about to divulge his secret marinade recipe and he looked like he knew how to handle a knife..lol
I will be back regularly.

We had a wonderful birthday dinner. The food is totally authentic the chilli pork and the steaks are divine, Mussels were wonderfully cooked and just perfectly seasoned with chilli all the food was healthy and there is no limit to our many times you can fill your plates I would recommend the pumpkin soup.We will definitely be visiting again we also enjoyed the wonderful grounds where the kids could play outside and were totally safe.

we've been here more than once. food never a disappointment. yes, a bit loud but didn't bother me. wish they had heaters for outside seating as the surroundings is just beautiful. beautiful location and so worth the drive. excellent food, bbq pork is to die for, wish they had a bit more variety on dessert though. totally recommended

This place is amazing! The owner really look after the place well. The atmosphere is amazing, the food is cooked to perfection and taste like home cook! The staffs are nice and friendly and the dish is never empty, the food just keep coming out and being refilled continuously! Lovely little place and yes I agreed with the last comment!

Well we happened upon this place quite by accident. My friend was having her nails done at the nail bar in Botany and the girl there told us about this wonderful Korean restaurant in Drury. Drury we said! where on earth is itin Drury??? well, way out in the middle of no-where but obviously word has gotten around, especially amongst the Koreans! When we walked in on Sunday night it was packed to the gunnels for the 7.30pm sitting and we were definitely in the minority, a good sign we told ourselves. If the Koreans eat here then its got to be good. Setting is lovely, although a little noisy as a big group down the other end of the room was getting rather vocal but they were having a good time. the food was yummy, very healthy stuff, the pork was to die for, nicely spiced and the black bean rice was very tasty. It would of helped if they could of put signs in English as to what the dishes were, I ended up having to ask another diner who steered me in the right direction. Disappointed not to see any caramelised lotus root vegetable that we have had at another Korean restaurant, that is soo yummy! Very good value for money, staff lovely too. Thoroughly recommend it.
