Great coffee, great food, great service! Plenty of indoor seating. Cabinet food and menu food

We love this friendly little cafe. It’s off the main drag so it enjoys a loyal following of locals. The coffee is top quality, the food is delicious and the staff are great. We usually get the soup which comes with toasted ciabatta and we’re never disappointed. Give Cilantro a try!

Wonderful quality food at good prices and always a few nice gluten free options. Not a huge selection but enough choice with everything done so well. Friendly staff and consistently get my top Mark for coffee

I'd say the coffee is pretty average but that's based on one visit and I may have been unlucky. On the other hand the plum torte was totally amazing. I'll be back

Top service from friendly staff great selection of tasty food that is full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Modern inner city vibe with a salute to building's heritage incorporated into design.

Yum yum yum!! This place has the yummiest bounty hot chocolate it’s soooooo good! The staff are incredibly friendly so that’s defiantly a winner for me. They also have a really yummy cookies and cream slice and their muffins with custard in it are insanely good! It’s a must try. It’s really nice sitting inside the cafe, I quite like the simplicity of it. Do try this place it’s a goody! They are in the entertainment book too!!

A cosy little cafe tucked away on Moray Place. Well appointed and tastefully decorated. The ambience is pleasant and relaxing, with floor to ceiling windows if you favour some people watching.

Espresso is on point, and the cabinet food is delicious and reasonably priced. Staff have an easy, helpful manner and food arrives promptly. One of the better places around the Octagon to stop for coffee or a bite to eat.

Cilantro Cafe is now open 9am to 2pm on Saturday's!

Best eggs Benedict in town and great Chiasso Coffee, plus all the sweet treats in the cabinet.

What a find!. I was over in NZ a few months ago and I was looking for a well cooked and delicious lunch and came across Cilantro Cafe. Nice setting with a good atmosphere, lots of people eating there who are obviously locals so that is always a good sign.
The menu had a good range of breakfast and lunch food that was all reasonably priced, it also took quite a bit of self control to resist the temptation of the nice looking cakes in the cabinet as well!
I ordered the most expensive item on the menu in the end, Westcoast Whitebait omelette & salad with grilled sourdough, which at only $20 was worth every cent. Fresh ingredients, delicious, well presented, good sized portion that was quickly delivered with friendly service.
A fresh mixed berry smoothy topped off the meal.
I am not a coffee person but was told by friends they are one of the best places to get a decent coffee in Dunedin

I totally agree with the other reviews excellent service and great food and coffee. I've had breakfast here a couple of times over the last month or two and lunch once, all very good. Good food options but even the cheese rolls are good.

Four of us visited this wonderful and busy cafe 5th Feb 2014 and were amazed. Service was fast, friendly, polite and efficient, while the food was enticing, well-presented and very tasty. Coffees were well made too, so all in all, a wonderful place to which I'm really looking forward to returning.

We eat out for lunch every Friday, our group ranges from 3 to 9 people and we try to go somewhere new each week. We have 3 rules: 1. Has to be within walking distance. 2. $15 per head limit (doesn't include drinks). 3. Can’t take longer than an hour.

Cilantro reopened a couple of months ago and what a change from the last operator! Service is always great, we have now been on several occasions, not just Fridays, and have never been disappointed! The food is always good no matter if it is from the menu or the cabinet. One of the favourites has been the Warm Cuban Pork Sandwich. Breakfast or Lunch this is the place to go!
