We went in a lazy warm Sunday afternoon. Of course, the staff was anything but lazy. We sat near the fireplace. Had a beer with large chips and vege burger.
Great experience - sitting with a beer next to the cracking fire and savouring the chips and aioli and burger.

Came here for a quiet dinner yesterday and had a fab experience! Super friendly and helpful staff, a good handful of veggie options on the menu - the pizza (I had Peter Rabbit) was really great. The atmosphere is fun and food and drinks arrived quickly.

We were looking for a cold drink after a long walk, we searched the nearby places and found this lovely place. The door and decor was very interesting with tools hanging around, lovely atmosphere, good quick service, we ordered a shake and a smoothie which was OK nothing impressive. We will come back to try the food

Good place to dine for dinner. Friendly and helpful staff. Meals were very good, nice size portions. Decor was tasteful. Reasonably priced.

Prices were good, it was very busy staff were very busy, one male staff member a little abrupt as we were a little early , but would recommend a visit

Surprised we were able to get a table for about 15 people without a booking but ended up in the outdoor area. Ordering wasn't difficult and the meals all came around the same time. We even had a few stragglers who were easily accommodated.
I had the autobahn schnitzel and it was alright. The gravy that came with it was nice with the chips. Decent pub food.

Regulars at Joe's Garage in Christchurch, same menu & quality of service, definitely would recommend getting into the loyalty program. We like what they have done with this spot, and the dual entrance way from George & Fredrick St.
Second visit: the steak could have been better, but otherwise a nice visit.

The menu displays all the kiwi classics, no surprise there and nothing really exciting but it is good, although it is totally overpriced. Service if just ok.
It would be an average 3 stars place If it didn't have the patio: it is really nice to be able to eat under the sun light (and there are too few places in Dunedin where you can).

Went in for a quiet breakfast, the mince on toast is a good feed for $20. Servers were attentive without being overbearing, interesting tucked away venue

It was 7.30am...first light was happening and a cold clear day was developing for this wintery saturday morning in Dunedin. Coffee was my first thought..Arlow our golden retriver dog had already awaken with a request for an early morning run. After a team meeting a compromise was agreed. JOE'S Garage..which is super dog friendly..and makes amazing breakfasts and coffee. The morning crew are incredibly passionate about the place, food and their clients. If you are either visiting or living in Dunedin hit this place up..10 out of 10..but check it out yourself...it is hidden away and that is part of the attraction..
