A nice spot, meals looked massive.
When we were there on a Saturday afternoon there was no noise, nit even background music, (live rugby was on so some volume would have been great) tis a hotel after all
Our build team stayed at the motel next door, and enjoyed their evening meals at Duvauchelle Hotel as well as the lunches prepared for them while on the worksite. Very accommodating when bookings needed to be changed and willing to make changes to the lunch menu when needed. Great service! Thanks. T
Meals were massive and quite good. Huge portions (the $20 chicken wings are great value) and cooked well. Great service even with only a couple front of house staff.

Staff, particularly Nicky ,were fantastic. Her service was excellent.
Also, we asked if there was a courtesy coach for ride home. There wasn't,but she drove us home in her own car... Real good service.
Meals were great too... Maybe a bigger TV in the bar area to watch the rugby would have been nice
Had meal in the pub, great value for money, very generous portions, we had the Mussels, the Sirlion Steak and the Pork, very happy with food, friendly and welcoming staff, will definitely return.
Stopped here for a steak sandwich on Sunday and it was bloody excellent, better than the steak I had at some posh joint a few weeks before and chips were perfectly crispy. Love a bit of beetroot in a sammy too. Huge portions and fantastic value for money. Will be back at earliest opportunity.
Last night we had lamb shanks. Superb. Tonight we went back and had the fish and chips. Beautiful fish, piles of chips and a huge salad. I couldn't finish mine and I am a big eater. This is perhaps the best pub food I have had in New Zealand for years.
Had just a quick soup of the day here and it was delicious. Creamy soup with bacon and mushrooms (those were correctly pan-fried on side and put into the soup before serving),brown, buttery toast on side. Nice Macs Gold in clean glass. Friendly service. Looking forward to our next visit!

Friendly, happy owner. We had about an hour wait for our food, but it was worth the wait. We had pork belly and pasta of the day. Both were great and well worth the price of about $20 each. I think the long wait was just because it was unusually busy for a Monday night.
Great pub. Delicious, good sized meals. Ordered Roast Pork, Chicken breast, Hamburger. Service was excellent - accommodating of gluten intolerance and meals quick to come out.
