I think im the only 1 that found it a bit loud lol. Food was delicious, cocktails even more so👌Service was excellent.

Went for a casual client lunch today. Good service, great steak, was cooked perfectly (medium), and a great quality piece of meat. Could have done with a bit more blue cheese sauce but that is the only complaint. Would definitely come again for the steak!

Good and friendly customer service, served some delicious food too. Overall light and easy atmosphere, outdoor area is by the main road so can be a bit noisy with heavy traffic

Stunning & fun pub/bar. They were kind enough to serve a prebrought in cake for us and made en effort to jazz it up, which was really appreciated. Service was a bit slow but very polite. Pork Bao bun was delicious but I only got 2 onion rings as a part of my meal. I was expecting around 5. My companions love the steak and veges The light turned off halfway through using the bathroom so I had to use my phone torch.

Best bartenders ever! so nice and friendly, food was great too! Alex, you're the man brother! Made me feel sooo welcomed and comfortable, the best. Would give more stars if I could 🙂

We dined at The Brook for dinner a few weeks ago. Their Margarita was a bit strong but a good size that lasted throughout dinner. The food was very good especially the Salt and Pepper Squid (cooked perfectly!). The serving sizes for the mains were also very generous. We gave it four stars because it took a looooooong time for our food to be served. Other than that everything else was very good.

5 stars with an excellent steak menu. The Sirloin medium rare with pepper sauce is next level… wash that down with a double gentlemen Jack and it’s a great night ! Awesome wait staff and a great ambiance. perfect for singles, couple and party groups.

I've been there a few times a couple years ago until The Light Horse closed down. This used to be The Light Horse. Good location from my place. Food is still good. But How sad it is that they don't open on weekend. I hope they open on weekend. Will be back with friends.

Had my sisters birthday there, the staff were amazing, food was delicious and the event manager took care of all our need and wants. This venue is awesome for functions

Wow, I enjoyed my food, it was not exactly what I expected, it was better than what I expected. Well done. I had a rump steak with salad and fries. Well worth the money I paid for the meal. Nice atmosphere. The service was a bit slow, needed to call the waitress to get our order placed after waiting fifteen minutes after she seated us and it was not very busy. The food was prepared quickly and we did not wait long. I will definately go back to try the rest of the menu. Compliments to the chef.

Very slow service, had to wait ages to be seated even though it wasn't that busy. Food took over 40min to be served and had no flavour.

Friendly service and relaxing atmosphere. Food was nice and decent serving portions. Wife loved the twice cooked pork belly, the steak was done well and kids were happy with their fish n chips. Only downer was the burger patty, a little over spiced, other than that can't fault much. Recommended visit.

Nice place. We went on a Tuesday and it was very busy and very noisy and the staff were very busy so they only had time to come and ask for orders once.<br/><br/>Food is just above average this time. Steak was cooked perfectly, but a little under seasoned during cooking. Mash and salad were great. The tempura batter was still a little thick on the fish as well, so not sure it should be called tempura since it was halfway between tempura and normal batter. Was lovely and crispy though.<br/><br/>Apart from that, the staff were friendly and helpful and the place itself is nice and their cocktails were well made too.

Good service from the nice lady at the front of store. Food came out fast and was of great quality. We used Zomato Gold and got our second main for free. We got the steak, fish n chips and salt & pepper squid.

The food was average. The steak was just edible, not special enough to make me want to visit again. Definitely not worth the price of $32 without Zomato Gold. But the staffs were very friendly, welcoming and the atmosphere was great. Might consider visiting again to try other food with Zomato Gold if i am in the area again.

Went here for valentines day and their menu options were quite beautiful. Limited choice for vegeterians but the food was delicious though. Ordered the vegeterian burger which tasted amazing.

The Brook Bar and Kitchen has a nice chill environment and vibe to it. The staff members are lovely and friendly. I ordered the pulled pork bao buns. Looked nice and presented well. However there was no pulled pork inside the buns. It was full of sauce covered fatty pieces. I was very disappointed. I advised the staff who were polite and apologetic. They did not ask if I wanted to order another meal or have another one replace it etc. Long story short, good place for a drink or two but would not recommend the bao buns.

Had lunch here to see what it’s like. Great friendly service - food was average as - our group tried - steak, chicken bao, fish & chips, market fish of the day,chicken taco, salt & pepper squid & doz oysters. Give it a go if in the area.

Long wait. Took more than 30mins for the food to come.

The restaurant sits in an nice and quiet ambient. Lots of parking around in night.<br/><br/>Food quality is average but waiting time was too long. Suppose it was the "steak day" on Monday, somehow when we were there at 7:30pm and told that all steaks were sold out. We were then try the lamb and fish of the day.

Ambiance is cute and comfy, foods amazing, service is great, awesome banter 😀❤️

Cramped space. Slightly overpriced drinks and food.<br/>Great location. Clean toilets. Decent pizza but like i said overpriced.<br/>Went there for an office event.

Good spot for a group lunch, somewhere safe that caters for everyone.<br/>The wine list is good and a good price.<br/>Speaking of price, they have some good weekday lunchtime prices here too.<br/>The foods not bad... actually it’s quite good, I’m just a harsh critic.<br/>It’s definitely great for pub type food.<br/>If you need to catch up with someone from around east Tamaki during the week, I would recommend it.<br/>It’s not as busy as some of its neighbours so you’re definitely guaranteed a seat. Went for the first time to The Brook for dinner with our family.  We ordered the Blacken Fish Salad, Pork Belly, 2x Scotch Fillets & fish and chips.  Everyone enjoyed their meals.  For me the steak was cooked to perfection.  We were served by Maria who was absolutely lovely, her friendly approach made us comfortable and she was so patient when I asked for a cocktail and then ended up ordering my favorite shiraz.  Also the restaurant is quite lovely......Thank you, The Brook for a lovely evening

Nice atmosphere and aesthetic to the place. We ordered the lamb rump, scotch fillet and meatlovers pizza to share between 3 people. The meat was cooked beautifully and the gravy was heavenly. The salad was fresh and the dressing was zingy. Pizza was good but nothing spectacular. Waitresses were friendly but weren't really present around the dining area - had to get up frequently to look for servers. Overall had a very pleasant experience! This menu has so much potential. I really loved the variety of the menu and the construction of the dishes but the actual meals were really disappointing and lacking flavour, the fries were pretty awful (soggy, cold, oily)... The fish was ok, but was very bland, especially for the prices of these meals ($32-35) definitely not worth it. The service was shocking as well as the bar was pretty empty we finished our meals and had the plates sitting in front of us for a further 20 minutes until we decided to leave. Wouldn’t rush back any time soon not sure what the idea is as the prices are something you would expect at a well known nice restaurant but the food was of standard of grubby bar food.

Service was great the girls were very polite, I had the steak and my daughter had the fish. Unfortunately my steak was over done I had asked for medium rare it was more medium well. But it was still very nice regardless.

Extremely surprising, food was amazing, steak was cooked perfectly and chicken tacos flavourful and just enough spice, staff were friendly and great banter.

Great service, great food, and the staff were lovely. Would recommend their chargrilled steaks! Very good price for what you get as well, will happily return for dinner

Lovely place. A great place for afterwork drinks. There were quite a few people when we arrived earlier tonight. Most were just having drinks. The wait time for food was quite long as there were not many diners. We ordered a pan-fried fish with black rice, an unusual combination but nice. Been there coupled of times now, a good place to go for lunch during working days. Always get their bao and butter nut salad. It’s a bit strange the butternut salad taste really different each time...

I went here on a Friday night, it wasn't as busy as I expected it to be. The customer service was on point.<br/>The wait time for our food was minimal which was awesome. The food was great, we ordered a cheesy garlic pizza, beef burger and scotch fillet. The beef burger was full of flavour. The scotch fillet was cooked exactly the way I like it, medium rare.<br/>I can see how the location would be hard to find. You can see the bar from the road but parking is round the back by jetts gym.<br/>I would definitely recommend this place and return at some point!

The brook is good - a solid staple in Highbrook. Is it A grade? No - but it’s pretty nice for a bar/pub dynamic. If you work in highbrook this place is unbeatable, if you don’t? It’s probably not worth going very far for. Staff are nice, place itself is warm and bright and super open - food is good but can take a while to come out, so beware if you’re watching the clock.

Went here for a team dinner one evening and the dining experience was well below the level expected. They had run out of steaks and the server was actually quite rude. Kept asking us every 2 mins if we were ready to order when we said give us some time. <br/><br/>Food was average.

Had the vege pizza and beef burger, the food was very tasty and the place had such a great atmosphere and beautiful decorations. Would come again!

Was a bit hard to find at first but nevertheless we made it in the end! Walked into a lovely environment with a nice view as we sat on tall stools and the ambience was excellent. We ordered the two flavours of bao: chicken and pulled pork and shared one each. Each bao dish comes with fries and onion rings.<br/><br/>The bao was better than I expected as it had a generous portion of meat balanced well with some salad at the bottom of the bao. The sauces on both had a slight tinge of spice for extra flavour.<br/><br/>The fries were alright, nothing special and same with the onion rings. Good side though.<br/><br/>It was a nice comfortable setting except for the flies which were a bit annoying

Have been in for lunch a few times.All of the food is average. A bit over priced for what you get. Unfortunately the parking situation and location make this spot even more unappealing. Might return on a first table reservation to try the dinner service.

Service, food, surrounding space was 👌. We ordered 2 burgers which came with fries ( one vag but burger pattie lacked flavour and one beef which was juicy afx2) and also was recommended the margarita pizza.

We managed to find the place after a bit of difficulty locating it. My wife had a beef taco & the fish & chips as the main. The taco was OK; the fish was excellent - crispy batter & beautiful fish.  I had the chargrilled Scotch fillet & potatoes & green salad - nicely cooked meat. We just finished a great dinner, great food, environment and service. It was steak night so 3 of us enjoyed a great meal of rump steak, eggs and chips for just $20 each. Our table also ordered the beef burger and chips and fish and chips which was also great and reasonable prices. Thanks again for the great service and will be back again. Our friends will be there next week for steak night.

Pork bao was yum very tasty actually one of the best I’ve had so far compared to some so I’ll definitely be back for those.<br/>Sticky pork ribs were good, they didn’t drench the ribs in the sauce which was good sometimes sauce can be overpowering and then you cannot really taste the ribs but apart from that,<br/>Service was good, quick and efficient <br/>the food are a little pricey but you get a fairly good amount they also have specials too, and the environment was clean, nice place to hang out and enjoy a meal or two 😊

we used first table booking to try this place out.<br/>the pizza bread with caramelized onion? this was very very tasty, i had the asian beef salad and the seasoning was good but the beef was bit too chewy, had sore jaw after eating. generous amount of food and by using the first table booking the price was very cheap for what we ate.

Been to this place a couple of times with friends. We usually order some fresh oysters and tempura battered oysters, they're always really good. The chicken cranberry brie pizza had amazing flavour. Scotch fillet steak was cooked to my preference and seasoned well. Great side salad and chips btw. Also had a taste of the Reuben Sandwich from my friend. I dont usually like sauerkraut but it was actually good with balanced flavours and nice texture in one bite.<br/>The ambience is great place to sit down and catch up with friends.<br/>Staff are really nice and friendly. We got our food really fast, though we do come on weekday nights - meaning it was not that busy.

The environment is nice and welcoming. However, the food is not as exciting. The mushroom sauce for the steak did not taste like mushroom sauce. I would give it an overall of 3.5. Really like the idea of paper straws though (:

Amazing service by the hostess and REALLY yummy food! The chefs were quick to get our meals out at lunch time with nice presentation. I would definitely go back!

Friendly staff and great food - the bar snacks and menu meals that we tried are yummy! Highly recommend esp for a cold one on the way home from work to miss the traffic
