Delightful experience at the Gorkha restaurant! The Fried Rice , Chicken Lollipop and Chilly Momo's was perfectly seasoned and delicious. 😍 The Beef Choyla and Passion fruit mojito offered a burst of flavors. The combination of these dishes showcased the culinary excellence of the restaurant. 💛 The ambiance and service further enhanced the overall dining pleasure. Chicken Lollipop was 11/10 😋. Highly recommended for those seeking a taste of Nepali cuisine! Thank you very much Nil and team for your great customer service ❤️🤩

Beautiful place with delicious food. You can taste the authenticity of the cuisine and the atmosphere here didn’t disappoint. We didn’t have a booking but they managed to accommodate our table for two. The momos here is the closest there is to home. Highly recommended, 10 out of 10.

This restaurant has been on my list of places to try out, and it didn't disappoint. Booked a table for 3 at 7 pm on a Friday night, rocked up 20 minutes early, and were shown to our table right away. Manager on duty - Deepak was very courteous and professional. Food order took less than 8 minutes to arrive! Had waiters come around ever so often to check on us. Portions were on point, food piping hot and fresh. By the time we finished and walked out, the place was bursting at its seams - seems like a very popular place. Will definitely visit again.

Great sandy beach with small fish n chips coffee n convenience store. Bit windy otherwise ok.

We were lucky enough to dine at Gorkha Restaurant recently. What a great experience. The place was nice and clean, the service was friendly and impeccable. The food was sublime. The dhal and the vegetable curry were just so full of flavour but at the same time the flavour was left to dance on your taste buds, never overpower. Each element seemed to come through. Wow! Even the garlic naan bread was extraordinary. There was music which was authentic to the culture and left nicely in the back ground to listen to if you wanted. So many establishments could learn from this restaurant who did back ground music perfectly.

Started off with chicken momos and lamb momos in schezwan sauce. both were good salted lassi was undrinkable and triple schezwan chicken with egg, egg was over cooked

One of the best dining experiences ever. Food quality was awesome. Excellent service and fully crowded on a weekday speaks volumes of the quality of this restaurant. Would love to visit this weekend again.

I very thing was cooked to perfection and was packed to the brim with flavour. The momos were crispy and were even better with the sauce. My personal favourite the thukpa was a noodle soup and the soup was packed with other flavour from the herbs and spices and there was a hint of mushroom. There was also an Avocado Lassi and it was their best selling drink. You have to try it, the local guy but shuttle tast of avocado is so balanced. Best reasturant ever

Service absolutely fantastic- friendly efficient & engaging. Food delicious. Lots of variety to try from. Really enjoyed the entree platter, but all dishes were great. Definitely recommend

We frequent this restaurant often and their food has always been delicious! What sets them apart from other restaurants is their service - it’s very welcoming and friendly :) we went late and they were very accommodating. I have a dairy free diet and they were also accommodating for that. It was also my birthday and they brought out the cake with a candle and playing Happy Birthday on the speakers :) Always a good experience at this restaurant!

Went there for a Saturday lunch. Its located right across the beach so loved the view and ambience. The food was good but the service was great shout out to Bharat and Yam. Loved their mango lassi and goat bryani. Would definitely visit the place again.

Food was incredible, madras was the best madras I’ve had in awhile and szechwan fried rice was super tastey. Food arrived very quickly and the staff were amazing and very friendly. Staff were more than happy to help us with food intolerances.

Bharat and Yam are very friendly and great hosts. The place is always packed which shows the quality of food and service. Kids love the chocolate naan, highly recommend. Great place to have an extended family meal or celebration.

Chicken Momos and Fish Tikkas were delicious and rich in flavour, these will be my recommendation. Pina Colada was very refreshing and Naan was really soft. However Chicken Punjab was average compared to the other dishes we ordered. This restaurant is a must visit. Thanks Gorkha staff for a great dinner and hospitality.

I never eat indian out ever but dining here the food was actually really nice different to other indian places was very tasty good pricing and the service was impeccable. Really appreciated and admired the way the staff here worked they were polite humorous and so kind and to be honest alot of indian places you go to you dont always get that myself being indian I really like that. Thank you to the lovely people who served us tonight Yam and Madhu. Such lovely people you guys definitely make dining here a nice experience thank you so much for making our dinner for our mum special 🤗

When we ordered, we were told delivery would take 30 minutes, an hour later we rung and were told it would be 30 minutes longer, we waited over 2 and a half hours till we rung again and were told they couldn't find our order. How could our food be 30 minutes away and an hour later you can't even find our order? It took 3 hours to arrive as well as the driver took it to the wrong house to get just warm food! I have never experienced such terrible service from a restaurant!

It was an amazing experience dining with group of besties. The resto was not that big, so we were quite squishy, but didn't stop us having a great night out. Very busy Saturday night. Food was so tasty. Portion was good for sharing. I think it's too big for one person. No complain. Service was great. Thank you for Yam and Bharat for very friendly service and happy to accommodate our demands with group photos. Sorry for being so loud and demanding... lol. We had great time and experince. Recommend place to go and try Nepalese food in East Auckland.

We've been here for serval times and they always keep the high quality of the dish and nice service. Love it! We will be there again.

Very fortunate we got to squeeze in an empty spot for a while and then moved to our permanent table looking out to the sea. The service was definitely 🥇<br/><br/>I ordered the 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗯 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘀, 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗮𝗮𝗻 and 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗼. Due to time constraint I only took a photo of the momo, which in fact was the highlight dish of the night! Momo is a steamed chicken mince filled Nepalese style dumpling with a lotttt of fresh herbs and spices! Trust me, it is a MUST to order that.<br/><br/>The curry was thick with good amount of meat. Medium spicy wasn't toooo spicy to me so maybe next time I'll order high spicy aye ;)

Excellent restaurant. Good ambiance. It was very crowded which is a good. Beautiful location and nice service. Chilli momos and mango kulfi are highly recommended. Tandoori roti, naan and lachha paranthas were fresh and soft unlike other restaurants. Other dishes were tasty too. We really enjoyed our dinner. Will be back soon.

Their Chicken Momos are the best in town. Just the way you get back home in India or any Indian hill stations. I would definitely come back again. The food was so delicious and so well cooked. The staff are very courteous and accomodating. We turned up without reservation and they still tried their best to give us a table as soon as possible. Thank you to the Gorkha team for their service & kind gesture.<br/><br/>Both the main dishes Chicken Punjab & Kadhai Chicken were so tasty!

Food was amazing flavours and spice was on point service was as well very prompt especially on a busy night that we were there.. Highly recommend super spicy dry chicken chili and the chicken momos/ dumplings steamed. Dipping sauce added so much flavours to the dish.. could maybe suggest more nepali desserts to add to the menu lakhamari would be a top seller...

I live in this area but it was a colleague living out West who recommended this outlet for our team lunch. I walked past this restaurant too often and sometimes you just know it’s there but didn’t register the name of the restaurant. In fact the reason is that this particular address has changed hands so many times since Lulu left, from Italian to Thai and then to Indian and another Indian and now finally Gorkha so I hope you are here to stay.<br/>There were 14 of us and we ordered a variety of dishes. Everyone seemed happy with their orders hence if I could, I would rate it a 4.5 star. Prices were a bit steep, I guess today is a Friday so we were not offered the Mon to Weds lunch special pricing. The complimentary chocolate naan was absolutely yummy. Love the location and the food too. Highly recommended.

Awesome food, quick service and friendly staff, beautiful sea view... we tried veg chilli momos, chicken chilli, methi mutter malai, their recommended cocktails , everything was super delicious will deffinately visit more often to try different dishes...👍🏻

Seriously the best Indian around!! I recommend to everyone. You HAVE to try the tandoori mushrooms!! They are to die for. Staff are so friendly. Really nice place to dine in. Love it.

Went yesterday for lunch with my husband for the first time. It was recommended by a friend was not disappointed. Food and service was excellent.

A great restaurant with both stunning views and delicious meals served with special care. Very impressed with service which was friendly and professional. We have dined our Easter Dinner at Gorkha Kitchen last night, and each time has been a 10/10 for food. A great selection of vegetarian and meat dishes. The best naan bread beautiful Nepalese selections of a variety of authentic food we have tried. Fish Tikka/ Buriyani /Butter Chicken/Lamb Gorkha special just beautiful!!  The selection of curries is delicious. <br/> Very friendly staff and always comes and check time to time.  Clean and tidy, Perfect place to take the family, Highly recommended to all!! Beautiful waterfront relaxing plc. We just had a v pleasant dinner. <br/>Thank you Gorkha Kitchen, You made our day!!!!! and lovely Staff(specially YAM) Will visit you again!!!

Amazing food and really friendly staff!Friend and I ordered the banquet menu and it did not disappoint. All the dishes were delicious. Even though they were really busy due to it being a public holiday the staff were really apologetic if there were delays with food but also very transparent. Great that it was also byo! Hands down the best Indian / Nepalese food I’ve ever had! We went in blind and asked for recommendations- and they certainly did not disappoint, in fact was one of the dishes I’ve ever had. Tikka fish is where it’s at! 😋

Went there to celebrate my mum’s birthday. The food was delicious specially the vegetarian momo’s. They even took care of our dietary requirements. As soon as they got to know that it was her birthday they gave us chocolate naan on the house which was quite delicious as well! Will be back again! :)

Loved this place!!!! Highly recommended! We went there for my mum’s birthday and ordered about 9 dishes. All of them was so nice and tasty. The staff is so friendly. They gave us free dessert as it was our first time there. Chilli momos are amazing!!! Must try.

We are visiting from Western Canada. This is our favorite place for dinner.  AWESOME!!!! food with care to our likes and dislikes.  Attentive, knowledgeable servers and chefs. They can accommodate your allergies and diet preferences better than most restaurants that we have visited. Good atmosphere and superb location.  You owe it to yourself to dine at this wonderful dining establishment!!!!!

Fantastic friendly staff who go the extra mile for you. The food is tasty and served quickly not that you feel rushed or anything. The free poppadoms when you arrive are very welcome!

Amazing food! We got a sit by the window and the view was also amazing! The staff is super friendly and the environment is pleasant. It so worth the drive to Eastern Beach. We had Nepalese food and I can't wait to go back to try the Indian curries 😋

What a find, right by the beach, fantastic service, amazing food, great decor. We all enjoyed our meal. We arrived at 6.30pm and by 7pm the restaurant was full, I recommend booking. We'll be back.

I’m a huge fan if this Indian restaurant lemme tell you all their curry is delicious. They have a wide range of seafood curries I’m a big fan of the butter prawn and dhal makhani. They also make a cheese and garlic stuffed naan which I’ve never seen anywhere else and it’s so good??? I don’t get Indian curries often because they’re usually kinda bland and not spicy but I don’t feel this way about Gorkha. <br/>It looks very nice inside and it sits on the waterfront of eastern beach. An extra plus the staff are very friendly and helpful and have still been willing to serve me when I’m half wet cos I’ve been swimming at the beach. I wish it was closer to where I live so I could get it more often.

Came by for a meal since it was recommended by a friend. We had to takeaway instead of eating in. The menu is quite large and could be hard to pick with so many options.<br/><br/>Ordered the Lamb Gorkha special, the goat biryani, and the chicken momo. They were all quite nice but my favourite of the lot was the momos. They were just juicy and tasty and steamed to order (which is why they said it'll take 25 minutes for the order). All the dishes were tasty and flavoursome, and the goat was really tender. The annoying thing about the biryani was the bones but that is what gives the dish the amazing flavour.<br/><br/>Nice option for a good meal and actually worth the drive there (and they do have free delivery to the area if you spend over $40).

Our dinner was wonderful. Food was excellent and service was impeccable. Perfect timing and we never had to ask for anything. We had four curries—korma, butter (2 heats), and mango. All we delicious and well presented. Rice and naan were perfectly cooked as well. We highly recommend the chocolate naan also!! Thanks for a beautiful dinner!

Very friendly & helpful staff. Since there was no menu online he practically guided me through it which just made my ordering experience quite breezy. I tried the tandoori mushroom & chicken chilly starters & they were delicious. For mains I went for chicken chowmein & it was absolutely amazing. I am definitely going for a dine in next time. Kudos team Gorkha!!

We were so very disappointed with Gorka... Not with the food, which was good (standard) Indian fare, it was the waiter that spoiled things for us. At the beginning he asked us our names which was a first (and we eat out 3 nights a week on average) then proceeded to use them constantly. When it came time to order he decided to recommend dishes for us and we had to be quite firm to get what we (the paying customers) wanted. We were pretty annoyed at this point and then another staff member asked if he could photograph us for their social media feeds. Annoyance level went up another notch and we declined. To our relief the meals arrived and were fine. After finishing we were getting up to pay and were told to wait as they had something special for us. At this point we were well full and didn't want anything else to eat. We should have been firm and left, but not wanting to be rude we waited and were presented with chocolate filled naan bread pieces! To be polite we asked if we could please take them in a doggy bag, and then the ultimatum was delivered - if you eat one mouthful we'll give you a doggy bag. At this point it was all I could do not to be extremely rude.  We've never been so harassed at a "casual" restaurant in our lives.

Very well served by two gentlemen, food is authentic and good place to have casual eating. Appreciate the extra sweet in the end. Keep up the good work guys.

One of the most fascinating and wonderful places! Great food with delicious mushroom and paneer starters! Loved the service totally with quite a lively and interactive staff. Overall I would rate this place a 9.5/10! Also, do not miss the outside view!

Love love love Momos here.. till now best momo in Akl.. decent pricing and good portion of momo. Chilli chicken was yum will ask for extra spicy next time😊 ..had to wait 20mins for momo but was worth the wait as it tested very fresh and dough was hand made does not tested like frozen .. definitely coming again ❤️👌✨✨💯 special thanks to Prakash for amazing hospitality..cheers👏👏

Gorkha on Eastern Beach has probably one of the Best Beasch Location Restaurants in Auckland with really very nice and friendly welcoming staff.  <br/><br/>Their Goat Biryani is recomendable in my opinion as Authentic Nawabi flavour, their Lamb Vindaloo and Prawn Curry were also good and Chiken Momos took me back to Kathmandu.   They gave us a complimentary Bjajias(Pakoras) which were also superb with vinos and drinks.  Had a Chocolate Nan (for the 1st time) and it was awesome though I would suggest to have it as a hot desert instead of the Kulfi.<br/><br/>We liked it so much that we went back the next day for lunch too with my nephew. :)

Gorkha opens recently at the end of Eastern Beach Road & serves Nepalese & Indian cuisine. There aren't many Nepalese eateries in Auckland, so we went for it. Complimentary poppadoms were served. We had the chilli lamb momos (dumplings) & a chicken chowmien (noodles). The momos were spicy & very appealing. The chowmien was a bit bland, but with the special momo sauce with salt & pepper, it turned out extremely well. We shared a mango kulfi (milk mousse with bits of cashew nut & almonds home-made mango ice-cream) - what a lovely treat to end our dinner!<br/>(Food - 4/5; Service - 4.5/5; Ambience - 4.5/5)<br/>Visited on 3 October 2018

One of the best Indian with extra Nepalese cuisine in town. Amaging view by the beach. Its really a good place to dine in with the family and friends.  i love the curry  and Nepalese dish which are authentic  and very delicious. They have very warm welcoming and good hospitality. Highly recommend  this Resturant to TRY OUT THEIR FOOD.

Very delicious nice and tasty food. The ambience and service is delightful. The right place to get order placed with the standards up to mark. Better to book table in advance for your seatings arranged for you. Thanks Gorkha Eastern Beach for the pleasant time.
