Review Mount Hut Chinese Restaurant & Takeaway - Fairlie

We came by since it was one of the few places that were open when we were there. The menu is a mix of Chinese food and fish and chips takeaways. They did have tables but dine-in was closed so we grabbed some takeaways to take back to the motel. Ordered through the screen and got a ticket for the order. It took about 10 minutes to get the food which was quite fast. We grabbed a bami goreng and cashew nut chicken. The noodles had a nice heat to it, which was surprising. The cashew nut chicken was nice with a decent amount of nuts. It was standard Chinese takeaway food.

Food was really tasty, one of the better Chinese takeaways especially in sleepy small town. Service was great too. Would recommend.

Best Chinese takeaway meals we have encountered during our travels in the South Island so far. The homemade wontons were really, really good!

Much better than my hometown Chinese restaurants where there are many. We'll impressed. The Bahmi Goreng was lovely as well as the combination fried rice.

I’m giving this review five stars just to help bring the average rating up because this place is well worth a visit. The Bahmi goreng and the sweet-and-sour chicken were stand out dishes for us.

Order consisted of hotdog, battered sausage, corn fritter, pineapple ring, 2 donuts and 2 scoops of chips. Fast service and only 10min wait for the feed. Would give a solid 8/10

Maybe a little pricey but dont mind as the fish & chips are some of the best I've had. Would rate at 9.5 % out of 10 % Good sized fish and plenty of chips, and tasty.

Me and my hubby love this Chinese takeaway so much. Their foods are great as tasty and the prices are not too bad. Will definitely be back :)

Friendly, Fast and Efficiency takeaway go-to. Nasi Goreng/Bami Goreng are so good. Huge portion too!

I would personally eat this takeaway once a week, sadly i am from dunedin, too far for me to drive but it is worth every cents of your pocket, highly recommended the food and the service here by local and humble man

Ordered big amount of fish and chips, it’s just perfectly cooked and the oil was clean. Very happy about it

Meals prepared and ready in a short time.always piping hot with good taste.

Amazing Nasi Goreng and Wontons (and lots of others but these are the best of each I have ever had!)
